Lost phone number

How do I find my landline phone number? I forgot it.

Several options:
Look on your bill.
Call a friend and ask them what the CallerID says.
Call your cell phone and see what the CallerID says.
Call Verizon's customer service number and select on of the options that requires them to know your phone number and the automated system will state the number you're calling from.
Good Luck.

  • Help!!! Switched plan, lost phone number, can't get it back

Over a month ago, I switched plans for my husband and myself - no new phones, just different pricing. Everything went smoothly for my phone, but my husband's number stopped working. The last five weeks have been a never ending hell of calling "customer service"  or going into the local store only to be told it would be fixed, "tomorrow", "in a couple days," or "starting in the next billing period." I have no idea why/how it can be this complicated, although I do now that at one point Verizon had the wrong identification code for the phone...which came from Verizon's records. Having already wasted over 15 hours on the phone or in the local Verizon store, I'd be happy to give up the number just so my husband could have a working cell phone (we have no idea how many text phone calls have gone unanswered in the last 5 weeks, but have had numerous - "why didn't you respond to my text moments") except for the fact that so many other things are tied to that number (credit card and bank accounts, etc.). I'm wondering if anyone has had similar problems and has advice on how to get Verizon to actually fix things, or at least acknowledge that is not unreasonable to expect a working phone within 5 weeks of switching Verizon plans!!!

never fixed, we both have basic phones. Have spent over 20hrs talking to customer service on every weekend for last 2 months. I have been told three weekends in a row that my case has been flagged (I think they say escalated) and that somebody will call me back the next week...guess what nobody every calls. I wish we could switch carriers at this point, but nobody else gets coverage in our medium sized town. Mamma warned me about monopolies.

  • LOST PHONE NUMBER WHEN UPDATING

i have lost some of my phone numbers when i updated

they should still be safe on your computer in Address Book or Outlook or with your cloud service.  Synch them back from one of them.

  • I had microsoft exchange added and when I synced I lost all of my prior contacts. Also, thenames all turned to numbers.  Example when you get a text from a contact, their name appeared.  Now just a phone number.  What did I do wrong and can I get it back?

Since adding microsoft exchange I sunced my phone and lost all of my old contact, notes. etc.  Also, when I do get a text message it appears as a number instead of a name.  What did I do wrong and can I get my old info restored.  When I tried restoring it only gave me the same thing.

That number is for an apple server in the UK that is used for iMessage activation.  A hidden SMS is snet to that number when you turn iMessage on and is used to verify your phone number.  I suggest you turn iMessage off.  In settings/phone turn on dial assist.  Check with your carrier to see if you can send an international SMS as you end that possibility to activate iMessage.  Rest your phone (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).) then turn iMessage back on.

  • Lost phone, trying to iMessage from phone number on Mac

So I lost my phone the other day and its off (I'm assuming it got ran over I think I dropped it out of my car) and I want to imessage from my verizon number from my computer until I can get a new phone... But my icloud email won't connect my phone number to imessage on my computer... Is there any way to do this without the use of my phone? I used to be able to but it seems that when my phone is off I can't use my number. (Using verizon)
    Need help, thanks.

    Hi,
It is better that you set  this up with the Phone.
In Mountain Lion however the item in Messages > Preferences > Accounts > iMessages accounts that says "Add email" could be used to add iPhone numbers.
I have never tried this but it was reported widely at the time Messages started as a "new" app.
    Having said that.
A device that is off from several days will tend to be "removed" from the iMessages list of an active item.
i.e. just turning Off Messages on the iPhone for about three days will "remove" it's Registration from the iMessages server.
If you turn it on again it will show "Waiting for verification" for some time.
i.e. you may not be able to use the iPhone number.

  • Lost my phone number when switching to Sky BUT can...

Lost my phone number when switching to Sky BUT can I get it back if I switch to BT line rental?
Hi, my elderly parents switched to Sky FROM TalkTalk for their phone & BB several months ago and between TT not wanting to release the number ( I believe)  and Sky wanting the money the switch went ahead even tho` Sky assured that if there were any probs the trans` would be halted.. Yeah pigs fly..
I know that this prob is between the evil twins but I have read that if the line was transfered to BT then the number could be recovered?
I have been told by TT that the number has been given back to Openreach and it is now not possible for them to re-activate it so Sky could then transfer it to them.
I have spent several months (on & off) many phone calls and emails/letters to try and resolve this..
Is this possible or have I been fed another load of untruths?
Could my father wait until he is out of contract with Sky and switch to BT if BT can recover his number?
I know that a diff number seems trivial but they are both getting on and keep forgeting they have a new number ( they had the number for 30+ years)
Any advice MUCH appreciated.. I had hair before all this happened

Its one of the risks you take, when you change service providers. Its a common problem which has been mentioned a number of times on this forum.
Service Providers like to keep you as a customer, and can make it very difficult for you, even though they are not supposed to.
Sometimes there are technical reasons why a number cannot be retained, especially if its a provider with their own exchange equipment and core network.

We bought a new prepaid phone on 10/5/14 at a Verizon store.  Had an existing phone number transfered and the phone can not be activatde. When will the system be updated? We have lost 2 days of service and now cannot use the original phone due to moving service to Verizon.

The exact same thing has happened to me! The customer service reps keep saying there is nothing they can do until their system upgrades are complete and they can't tell me when that will be! I need my phone number back!!! Somebody please help with this issue!

  • Is there anyway i could find my lost phone using imei number?

is there anyway i could find my lost phone using imei number?

I had this same problem (still do--phoen is still missing).
Do NOT get sucked into the scam site online that says they can find your phone with the IMEI number. I was so frantic that I paid those clowns $70 to do it. WHeN I figured out that htey were not doing as they said and sending me reports, I finally called Apple and was told NO, it is not possible.
If you did not have Find My iPHone on (I didn't), and you do not have insurance (Verizon can ping it if you have insurance, and they will not let you pay to do it after you've lost it) OR if you don't have an subpoena, you're out of luck, unless you can  find it.
Just don't get suckered into believing that site. It's the only one that I found like it. They've even got a database where you can look up your phone IMEI number and it will show you the model, and it's correct. The rep I spoke to from Apple said more than likely someone was selling that info (Illegally) from the  phone carriers, so it all looks pretty good when you're frantic.

  • I accidentally restored my phone and I lost a number I just got. They called me so I had it in call history. Is there a way to get that back?

I accidentally restored my phone and lost a number of a friend who I just met. She called me so I had a missed call with her number. We also vaguely texted before the incident. Is there anyway to get the number back?

If you did not do a backup of the phone before this restore, while the number was on the phone, then you have lost it. Generally when you do a restore, the phone prompts you to perform a backup. Restore the phone from that backup.

  • I lost my iphone 5 and i don't have i tunes.can i use my phone number or any other way to get the serial number?

i lost my iphone 5 and i don't have i tunes.can i use my phone number or any other way to get the serial number?

    No.
Serial number is available If you have:
    1. The iPhone box when you bought it, if you still have it.
    2. The receipt, where you bought the iPhone
    3. Computer iTunes, if you have synced or backuped the iPhone.
    4. https://supportprofile.apple.com if you have iPhone registered

I'm sorry to hear your phone has been lost or stolen! Have we been able to suspend the line already for you? If yes, the line is on hold and you can place your replacement device back on that line and keep your number. You can start the activation of your repalcement device here: http://vz.to/1dy7Mcv

  • IPhone lost it's phone number. Help!

I have had an iPhone since day 1 and the phone number of the phone appeard at the top of the phone directory. Yesterday I bought my daughter an iPhone and we swapped sims because she wanted my phone number. Her phone registered fine. I took her sim and had an old number from my previous carrier ported to it. I registered my phone with iTunes and after a slight delay my iPhone has the ported number and can dial in and out just like it should.
All seemed fine, but I notice at the top of the phone list on the iPhone, it is blank. On my iTunes the iPhone page doesn't report the phone number.
Has this happened to you and do you know how to fix?
    Paul

I don't know if you've seen this problem fixed, yet, but it seems that when an iPhone is activated from a ported number (as you did when you put your daughter's SIM with a ported number in your iPhone), if the copy of iTunes used to set the iPhone up completes setting up your phone's profile prior to AT&T getting the SIM activated with the ported number, the phone's SIM card will not have the new number written to it (which is where the iPhone gets the number to use on the iTunes sync screen and the iPhone's contact and Phone Setup screens).
Unfortunately, this is what usually happens, and there are lots of folks out there with ported numbers who don't see their own number in the places they should see it. It's because their SIM card does not contain the data needed.
    There are two solutions:
    1) Reset your iPhone completely, erasing all data, and re-sync it to your computer. When prompted, choose the option to set up a "new" phone rather than restore from a backup. This will force a re-sync with the AT&T servers, and your phone number should be correctly written to the SIM card, and then appear in the appropriate places in the Apple software. This is a draconian solution if you've heavily customized your phone (with 1.1.3, you may have modified springboard layouts and added dozens of web clip icons, for one thing - this will be lost with the "new" phone setup option).
    2) Find another model of phone that allows you to edit the data on the SIM card - many, many phones (but not the iPhone) allow this to be done. Power down your iPhone (hold the Home and Sleep buttons until you see the 'Slide to Power Off" slider), place your SIM card in that phone, and use the phone's editing abilities to add your number to the first of the four "My Own Numbers" slots - not all editing software will give you access to all four slots, but all you need to do is add your number to the first, so even the most limited SIM edit program should be able to handle this. After you've got the number on the SIM card, just turn the phone off, remove the card and replace it in your iPhone. When you restart the iPhone, you should immediately see your number on the Contacts screen and in the Phone setup screen. When you next sync the phone, you should see its number on the iTunes sync panel. This is definitely the preferred method if you have many customizations done to the phone, as is likely if you've upgraded to 1.1.3.
    Hope this helps.
