Lost photo album on iWeb

On my .Mac homepage I have two photo albums. The first, at http://homepage.mac.com/jnelms/PhotoAlbum2.html, I can locate and edit. The other, at http//web.mac.com/jnelms/iWeb/Site/HAG.html, I cannot locate, nor edit. If you have any suggestion where it is hiding, I would appreciate hearing from you.
MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   2 Mghz Intel, 2 GB RAM, 120GB HD

Thank you for the information, James. I did find the files in the location you mentioned; however, there does not appear to be any way to edit the captions under the pictures, as I need to do. There are two files for each picture, one labeled (for example) "DSCN0064.jpg" and another "DSCN0064_framed.png." The only place captions are shown is in the file "slideshow.html," which does show the entire slideshow, but does not permit editing. Any suggestions?

  • Multiple photo albums in iWeb?

How can I create multiple photo albums in iWeb? When I simply pull albums from iPhoto to iWeb, the photos appear individually.

Updated to Firefox 3.6. My Photo Albums display properly on an iWeb site in Safari; they also previously did with the Firefox version I had updated from. However, the photo albums have disappeared now from my Photo Album page.

Apparently many people are having this problem but it isn't resolved for anyone. Is it Apple's problem or is it Firefoxe's -- and is this happening in IE too (we don't have IE here on our computers btw)
Since these are professionally-related photo albums it sure would be nice if this could be fixed pronto.

  • I tried to implement photo albums using iweb and got a publishing error.

I tried to implement photo albums using iweb and got a publishing error. All was fine with my site until I added the photo album page. The software doesnt say what the error is exactly, only that it is a publishing error to my ftp
Exact message "There was an error communicating with the FTP server. Try again later, or check with your service provider."
If I reduce the albums inside to 1 then it seems to work but that takes away from the usefullness of multiple albums.
my iWeb version is 3.0.4 (601)

Publish your site to a folder on your hard drive to see if the publication will proceed successfully and open the site locally with your browser to confirm all of the alums are there and work.  If they do try the following:
delete the iWeb preference files, com.apple.iWeb.plist and com.apple.iWeb.plist.lockfile, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
    launch iWeb and try again.
If you're still not able to publish from iWeb to your server download and use the free  Cyberduck to upload your website files to the server. Users have found that CD has been successful when iWeb had problems.

  • Lost photo album on ipod

so a while ago, i had a whole photo album from my birthday party on my ipod, one night, i put on to charge on my computer, and when i looked the next morning, the whole album was gone... no trace of it on itunes, on my ipod, just nothing... i was hoping someone might be able to help me get this lost photo album back... btw i think this was around last year not too long after i first got my ipod...

The photos came from your computer in the first place.  They should still be there.

  • The removed photo albums in iWeb are not removed from my website.

I have removed a few photo albums from my web site in iWeb and added none. When uploading the changes to my website it still shows all the albums only the links of the removed albums are not valid any more.
How can I get the albums completely removed from my site via iWeb?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You are hosting your site on a MobileMe account, correct?
Try publishing the entire site with the File ➙ Publish Entire Site menu. If that doesn't clear out the old stuff from your web site try the following:
    1 - close iWeb.
2 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
3 - go to your User/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete the contents.
    4 - reboot.
5 - launch iWeb and and try again.
Still if not cleared out publish the site to a folder on your hard drive and open the local copy with your browser to see if that shows the changes to the site.

  • I want to create a new photo album in iweb

Help!! I have forgotten how to create a new photo album in my albums page and cannot locate where to find out how. I don't want to just slide an album from iphoto to iweb, but want to use several photos from several iphoto libraries. I know it's simple, but arrrgh !!

Albums are created in iPhoto and then dragged onto the albums page template in iWeb.
Either that or create a page using a Photos template. See this page about the problems with the slideshow...

  • Disappearing Photo Albums in iWeb

I've seen so many posts on this topic here and elsewhere, but it never seems to be resolved. I had just added a new album to an iWeb created site this morning and though it was working correctly before this, now all of my albums are not showing up in every browser that I use, FF3, Safari and Chrome. I had had this problem with just the newest 1 out of 3 albums not showing up in just FF (showed up in other browsers...) a month back and then all of a sudden, it appeared and I was fine until today. ANY help would be appreciated. I really want this site up and running and iWeb, while easy to use, is quickly falling in my esteem for its reliability.

  • Adding photo albums to Iweb

I'm unsure of how to add a photo album to my Iweb. This is what I see. I'm on my About me page. On the right side mac already has 2 photo albums. I don't know how to add an album on there. I read some things in the other discussions about Idisk, but I see NOTHING in Idisk. Where does the photo album come from? Do I create one in Iphoto, save it to Idisk? But then after I save it how do I get it into the About me photo album?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please put step by step in SIMPLE terms! lol.
    Thanks Amanda

    Amanda:
The photo album comes from iPhoto. In iPhoto you can create a new album, name it and then add photos to it. Once that's done, go to iWeb, open the photo page layout and click on the Media button at the bottom. A new window will open with Audio, Photo and Movies sections. Click on the Photo and you'll seer the iPhoto library icon and any albums below it. Click on the album you want to add, select all the photos in it and drag them onto one of the photo place cards. That's it.

  • Download Photo Albums on iWeb?

The photos we have on our iWeb are able to be downloaded individually by people. I would like to be able to have the photo albums be downloaded as well, so that people do not have to download each photo individually.
Is this possible and, if so, how do I make that happen?
    Thanks.

You can make up your album in a DTP application and export it as a PDF or use the freeware PDF Lab...
    http://www.iconus.ch/fabien/products/pleng/pleng.html
Create a link to it on your iWeb page using "Link to: A file".
When visitors click this link the PDF will be downloaded to their desktop.

  • Lost photo album

I lost a photo album when I did a system restore. any thoughts if its recoverable? I had done a back up to my computer and my photos and my other album came back, just not this particular album.

If the photos were synced to your phone from your computer or photo stream they wouldn't be included in the backup.  The backup only includes camera roll photos.  If these were not in the camera roll you would need a different backup source to recover them.

  • Lost photo albums

After upgrading to a 5s last year I used the back up restore to sync all my previous data from my 4s. On looking through my iPhone I notice several photo albums missing thinking that they were saved on my iTunes on the computer. As I now want to upgrade to the iphone 6 128gb so that I'll have enough storage for all my data I looked for these missing albums on my computer but they are not on there   is there anyway I can get these photos back from a previous back up?

Were they not synched to your computer as recommended?  Just synch them back.

  • Sync'd and lost photo albums - help!

I sync'd my iPad Air with my PC before leaving home and added several Albums to my Photos.  I do not have the photos in these albums on my Laptop.  I took some photos on my camera, created a folder on my laptop and copied these new pics into it.  I then sync'd my iPad using my laptop and iTunes with the intent of copying the new folder of pics to the iPad (I selected just that folder in the iTunes sync for Photos).  The sync did copy this folder to my iPad as a new album, but it also deleted all of the albums I put on the iPad from my home PC.  How can I get them back?  I do not have an iCloud backup....

That is the danger of syncing with two different computers given the way that iTunes syncs photos.
When you sync with photo folders specified in iTunes it places just those folders on the iPad and deletes any other synced folders. You must always specify all the folders in iTunes, even the ones that are already there.
You can restore the lost folders from your PC when you return home. Note that you will lose the folder from your laptop when you do this if you don't copy that folder from your laptop to your PC first.

  • How to create a new photo album in iWeb

I have a phot gallery on my iweb created website. I created new albums before but can never rember how I did it. From memory I tried dragging a number of pictures over to the gallery page and tried to drop them on the page..once with and once without using the command key - as that's how I thought it was done. But it isn't. When I try help I can't seem to find answer though I have in the past. Can anyone help?

    You can copy and paste an image gallery out of any of the pre-built template pages;

  • Dragging photo albums into iWeb

Hi. I'm trying to drag an iPhoto album into a albums page on iWeb but its not working. I've done this in the past and its worked fine so i know what to do, but it's just not working!
    Please help.

What system are you running and what version of iWeb and iPhoto?
    Try this basic troubleshooting fix:
delete the iWeb preference files, com.apple.iWeb.plist and com.apple.iWeb.plist.lockfile, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
    launch iWeb and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.  Once the library folder is visible you'll be able to find the two files mentioned above and delete them.
