Lost Photo Stream Photos after signing out of iCloud

For some reason I've lost all of my Photo Stream photos except for 48 of them.
I changed my Apple ID a couple days ago, and finally got around to signing out of iCloud on my iPhone / iPad to refresh my account as it tells you to in the FAQ somewhere on this site. I checked and all of my Photo Stream pictures were available, then I made sure I backed up everything on iCloud from both devices, then signed out on both my iPhone 6 and iPad mini. I signed back in, and it started to load my Photo Stream but only loaded 48 photos. I'd like to get them all back but I'm not sure how.
They're still all in my phone's Camera Roll, but not in my Photo Stream which means I can't access them from other devices. Is there any way to get them back onto my Photo Stream?

Hello cbriones95,
I can imagine that Photo Stream issues must be frustrating, but the articles listed below should help you in finding a solition:
Get help using My Photo Stream
I don't see photos from My Photo Stream on my iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
From the Home screen, tap Settings > Wi-Fi.
Make sure that Wi-Fi is on and your device is connected to a wireless network. You can use these steps to troubleshoot your Internet connection on your iOS device.
From your Home screen, tap Settings > iCloud > Photos.
Make sure that My Photo Stream is on. If it’s already on, turn it off and tap Delete. After it turns off, turn My Photo Stream on again.
Close the Camera app on the device that took the photo. Photos won't upload from an iOS device to the Recently Added album (or the My Photo Stream album in iOS 7) until you close the Camera app.
See if your iOS device is below 20% battery power. To preserve battery life, downloads and uploads from My Photo Stream are disabled when the battery reaches 20%. Downloads and uploads will continue after you charge your device, and the battery charge is greater than 20%.
Due to storage limitations, your Apple TV might display only your most recent photos.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,
BobbyD

  • If i sign out of iCloud will any of my photos be lost from iPhoto on my mac

    Hi
I have got myself in a bit of a mess after changing the email address linked to my apple id as the old address was no longer valid.  I have change the apple id but i need to sign out of iCloud ss the old ID is no longer valid.  I want to check that if I do sign out of I cloud my iPhoto library on my imac will be safe as there are some scary messages displayed when I am in the process of signing out saying that any photo's not imported will be deleted from my computer!
Common sense tells me that you must be able to sign out without it deleting all the photos from your computer, but I would like to check with someone who knows!
I am operating OS X on an iMac.
Thank you and sorry to be a pain!!

You just need to open iPhoto on your iMac and move any photos in the Shared  iCloud section (in the pane on the left of iPhoto) into an Event or Events if they already haven't been. Photos in Events are safe from any action by Photo Stream (iCloud).
It is possible that you already have set iPhoto to automatically move the photos into Events where they are safe. That setting is described in the quote below from iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ
Because your Mac and PC have more storage than your iOS devices, you can choose to download all of your My Photo Stream photos automatically.
In iPhoto or Aperture preferences on your Mac, select Photos (or Photo Stream) > My Photo Stream > Automatic Import. All of your photo stream photos will import into your Events, Projects, Photos, Faces, and Places folders in iPhoto or Aperture.
Also there is more information at iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ
What happens to my photos if I turn off My Photo Stream?
If you sign out of iCloud or turn off My Photo Stream on an iOS device, all the images in My Photo Stream are removed from that device. The images in My Photo Stream on your other devices aren't affected. Images added to My Photo Stream are saved on the iCloud server for 30 days from the date you added them to My Photo Stream. If you sign in to iCloud with the same Apple ID and turn on My Photo Stream on another device, those photos will automatically download to this device.

  • My photos have stopped showing up on my pc from my iPhone.  They do still show up on my iPad.  I have signed out of iCloud on my pc and then signed in, but that didn't help.  Very puzzling.  Any help?

My iphone photos have stopped showing up in my photo stream folder on my pc.  They do show up on my iPad.  I tried signing out and back into to iCloud on my pc, but no help.  Any ideas?

The iCloud backup only backs up your camera roll photos, not photo stream photos.  Also, photos only remain in photo stream for 30 days.  After that they are removed from your photo stream, but will remain on your devices that already have them.  If all your photo stream photos are older than 30 days, that would explain why they don't stream to your iPhone 5 even though they are on your iPad.
To get them on your phone, you can use an app like PhotoSync, which will wirelessly transfer photos from any album (including photo stream) between your devices.  Alternatively, you can save the photo stream photos to the camera roll on your iPad (by opening the My Photo Stream album, tap Edit, tap all the photos to select them, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll), then import them to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), put them in a folder, then select the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and sync them to your phone.

  • Photo stream unable to sign in (Apple TV 2)

Trying to set up photo stream on the Apple TV 2, getting an 'Unable to Sign In' error. iTunes Match worked without a problem but the photo stream refuses to sign in

I figured out a way to fix this with my new Apple TV!
After trying EVERYTHING!...(Trust me, I had tried EVERYTHING!) including restoring Apple TV to the original factory settings....reconiguring in every-which possible way.....
Here's what I did to make it work.
I happened to be in the "Settings" app of my iPhone, where I did something with the calendar settings for  iCloud.
There, it prompted me to read the new "Terms & Conditions".  I agreed to them and then went directly to my Apple TV and it immediately worked.
This was after WEEKS of trying EVERYTHING!
So the key is to get an Apple device to prompt you with the new "Terms & Conditions".  Once you've agreed to it, you should find that Apple TV will let your PhotoStream work again!
    Hope that helps!

  • If i sign out of iCloud will I lose photos and docs off my Mac?

I am in the process of changing my email address which means changing my AppleID.  In 'how to change your ID' you are meant to sign out of iCloud.  I get warnings that if I sign out any docs, photos etc which have not been imported will be deleted from my computer.
how do i know if they have been imported and I won't lose them?
    and
is there an easy way to change your ID on your Mac? it was easy on phone
    iOS X10.9.5
    Cheers

They will still be in iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account (just with and updated email address) and not changing accounts, your data will download back to your Mac when you sign back in.
You might want to make sure your my photo stream photos are imported to iPhoto before signing out.  To do this, open iPhoto, control-click on the My Photo Stream album and choose "Import".  If it says "Show in Library" instead of Import, they have already been imported to your library.

  • My photo stream options are greyed out

and i cant select them to edit options im on a new laptop had icloud eworking on last laptop de-authoried it before switching to this one how do i get photo stream working again?
iphone 4s and windows vista laptop

You didn't do anything wrong.  It appears that either your phone or your Mac are not connecting to your photo stream properly.  Otherwise when you deleted the photo stream photos from your phone they would have been deleted from your Mac.
Photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days, allowing sufficient time for them to download to your devices.  After 30 days they are removed.  Turn photo stream back on on your phone.  You should only get back photo stream photos from the last 30 days, not all 900.  If you get more than you want, you can delete them.  If you get less, you can add them back using iPhoto (discussed below).
Then take a new photo on your phone while connected to wifi, close the camera app, open the My Photo Stream album on your phone and confirm that the photo appears after a few seconds.  Assuming it does, open iPhoto on your Mac and see if the new photo appears in the My Photo Steam album on your Mac.  (If you are already viewing the album on your Mac, you may need to click you events, then re-open your My Photo Stream album for new new photo to appear.)  Assuming it does, delete the new photo from your My Photo Stream album on your phone and see if it deletes from your Mac after a few seconds.  If it does, then things are working properly now and you'll just have to manually delete any photos on your Mac that you don't want.  If things aren't working, reply back with your results and we'll take it from there.
Any missing photo stream photos that you still want on your phone can be added back to your photo stream from iPhoto, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/iphoto/mac/9.5/#pht7aaade98.

  • How can I retrieve old Photo Stream photos from a lost iPhoto Library?

My laptop was stolen and with it an external drive that had my iPhoto library.  I had an old backup and when I opened the backup and turned on Photo Stream, I saw all my old photos appear again!  After a short while, it was removing old photos from the photostream and replacing them with newer ones.  I'm now missing months of Photo Stream photos that I really want back.  I tried creating a new library and enabling Photo Stream to try to capture those missing images, but I am not able to see anything older than Oct.  I could really use some help if somebody knows a way to get those memories back...
    Thanks
    -Rob

    I had an old backup
What kind of backup? Do you have a Time Machine Backup of your complete system from the time before the laptop was stolen?
To restore the Photo Stream images from that time you need to restore the folder
    your home folder /Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/Assets
This folder contains the PhotoStream pictures that were part of the PhotoStream at that time.
To restore this folder from TimeMachine, open a Finder window showing this folder, make it the active window, and then enter TimeMachine. Go back in time in the TimeTunnel, till you see the correct date. Don't restore to the library but to a folder on the Desktop.

  • How can you restore photo stream photos back to Apple TV after accidentally deleting from your iPad

After accidentally deleting photo stream  photos on my iPad, this deleted photo stream photos on my Apple TV.  How can I restore these photos back to my Apple TV and also to  my iPad?  Suggestions welcomed

If you have a backup of your iPad prior to the date of deleting your photos, you can find them. Otherwise, you might be able to find them.
If you do have this backup, then you'll have to restore your iPad to that point.
If you had a Mac with iPhoto, then when you connected your iPad, iPhoto would store the photos separately from Photostream.
I despise Photostream. It's turned off everywhere on my system. It is one of the most useless pieces of junk that Apple has foisted on my Mac and iOS. But hey, that's just my opinion.

  • Can't find My Photo Stream album after iOS 8 update

Can't find My Photo Stream album after iOS 8 update. Is anyone else having this problem.

That album, My Photo Stream, is no longer used.
Instead, look in "Recently Added" within Albums, and also within Photos in the various timescale views. Both places should contain photos taken by any of your devices.

  • Old Photo Stream photos don't show up on my new iPhone

My old iPhone only had 16GB and was running out of space, so I turned Photo Stream off on it. However, I have Photo Stream enabled on my Mac, and there are 500+ photos in the Photo Stream album there. I just bought a 64GB iPhone 4S last night, so I enabled Photo Stream on it. However, nothing shows up in it on the iPhone, even when I'm on WiFi. To verify that Photo Stream was even working, I took a picture this morning on the iPhone - it shows up in the Camera Roll and Photo Stream on the iPhone, and it shows up on my Mac. So, my Mac says that there are 504 photos in my Photo Stream, but the iPhone says there's only 1. I verified that my iPhone has more than 20% battery, Photo Stream is enabled, and I am on WiFi.
How can I get the rest of my Photo Stream on my iPhone?

Answered my own question. Net: iPhoto was lying to me. All the photos it said were in my Photo Stream actually were not. On my Mac, System Preferences -> iCloud, I unchecked Photo Stream, then signed out of iCloud. It asked me whether I wanted it to keep or delete my contacts and other things from the Mac - I told it to delete them. iPhoto then showed me that the Photo Stream was empty, and asked if I wanted to turn it on. Instead, I logged back into iCloud on the System Preferences panel. Photo Stream was still unchecked, but I went back to iPhoto and now chose the option to turn on Photo Stream there. After a minute, I saw only the one photo I took yesterday. I dragged a bunch of photos from my "Photos" library to the Photo Stream, and after a few minutes, they started showing up on my iPhone.
I had spent an hour on the phone with Apple Tech Support before this - talked first to iPhone support, then they transferred me to iApp support when they somehow figured out that I only had one photo on iCloud. The iPhoto person told me that there was essentially no way for them to do that, and that it looked like an iPhone problem, then transferred me to a "supervisor" who sounded like she was from iPhone support again. She had me reboot the phone, and wanted me to reset it completely, but when I balked at losing all my passwords, she told me she had to consult with other people and would call me back in 15 minutes, but sent me her contact info just in case. In the meantime, I figured it out myself.

  • HT201317 I cannot see my photo stream photos with my Apple TV

Unable to sign in"with my account id. What am I doing wrong?

They may not be in your photo stream any more.  Photo stream only keeps photos for 30 days.  After that, they are removed from photo stream but not from a device that already has the photo stream photos in its photo stream album.  However, when you connect a new device to your photo stream they are no longer available to download.

  • How can I see photos from my photo stream on my pc with the iCloud application installed on my pc.

I want to download the photos from my iCloud onto my PC.  I installed the iCloud for PC and can open it, but cannot figure out how to see the photos.  Photo Streaming in turned on for the iCloud.

Check Pictures>Photo Stream>My Photo Stream.  Note: when you turn it on you will only see photos from the last 30 days as photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days.  If you want to stream older photos to your PC, create a shared photo stream containg the photos and invite yourself as a subscriber (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99).
