Lost photos in upgrade iPad

I recently bought a new iPad 4 after losing my iPad 2.  In the upgrade I seemed to have lost photos.  My previous data etc was always backed up regularly through iOS 6. I have upgraded to iOS 7 on the new iPad but still no photos.  What can I do to restore my photos?

Hey there
I recovered my xmas photos (thank god!) from my iPad.  It took me ages to find out how to do it but in the end I followed these instructions.

Hope it can help you too

How can I retrieve lost photos on my iPad?

How were they lost? You have provided no background material for someone to work with. If you have deleted the photos and are on the latest iOS, there is a deleted photos album in Photos. If you do not have them in the deleted photos album, you could restore your device from a backup that contains the photos. If these were not photos from the Camera Roll and from syncing, they had to be removed by a sync, and could be synced back as long as they still exist on the computer. There are a few other choices, but I'll wait and see what you may have been doing.

  • Lost photos on my iPad they seem to be coming back slowly will they?

Lost my photo of my iPad still all on my phone will they come back on my iPad ?

Photo stream only keeps your photos for 30 days.  After 30 days your photos are deleted from photo stream but will remain on your device (up to 1000 photos) until deleted.  If you turned photo stream off on your iPad, then turned it back on, you will only receive photos from the last 30 days as the others are no longer in your photo stream (even though they remain on your phone).  Chances are the missing 580 photos were added to your photo stream more than 30 days ago and cannot therefore be synced back to your iPad.
If you want to get the remaining photos from your iPhone to your iPad you'll have to do one of the following:
Save them to the camera roll on your phone (by tapping Edit, tap all the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll), import them to your computer (as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), then put them in a folder and sync them to your iPad by selecting the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing your iPad; or
Use an app like PhotoSync, which can transfer photos from any album on your phone (including photo stream) to your other devices.

  • Lost photos when upgraded to Iphoto 11 - Time machine is off.

I just upgraded my iphoto and have lost all my photos. When I upgraded it was pretty quick and asked me which iphoto I wanted to use. I clicked on the first one. It didn't open the first time but the second time it opened fine...NOW ALL MY PHOTOS ARE GONE! My time machine is off (apparently the computer comes like that and you have to turn it on) and I have no backup!
    PLEASE HELP!!!

Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'

I lost the last 18 months of my photos when I upgraded my iPhoto with the recent upgrade for

Ok,  I was able to speak with my son, and in iPhoto i looked under file and there was now 2 libraries to choose from, between both were all my pictures!
Now my son would like to know if there is a way to merge the two libraries into one?

  • Lost photos when upgraded to mountain lion

So I had all of my photos stored in iPhoto, but my work upgraded my OS from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion (yes, I realize Lion was skipped), I lost iPhoto along with all of my photos.  iPhoto came pre-loaded on my machine, so I don't have the software to re-install iPhoto.  Advice?  I did save my photos on an external hard drive (via time machine) prior to upgrading, but I'm not sure if they'll be accessable since I don't have iphoto on my computer anymore.  Thanks!

In Notes, under View in the menu bar, click on Show Folders List. There might be a folder in which they are...

  • Lost photos after upgrade

I've just upgraded my OS and photos uploaded to iPhoto from November 2013 til now have disappeared. Where have they gone and why? My iPhoto is version 8.1.2 - and that's because I'd read a lot of horror stories about later versions - now one of them seems to have come true.
    Can wnyone help me please?

Simple solution: restore from your back up.
    Other than that:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
As a general rule there are horror stories about every version of iPhoto - and indeed, every other app too. Such reviews aren't worth the paper they're not written on.
The problems with them are manifold: for a start, happy people are less likely to review, unhappy happy are much more inclined to. That's why we don't have thousands and thousands of posts on this forum from all the people who have no problems saying "look I have no problems". Unhappy people get cross and are more likely to express that anger in negative reviews.
Then what about the reviewer? What is his or her knowledge, experience and skill level? No doubt they are having problems, and real ones, but how do you know if their issues are problems with the app, their own inexperience, third party conflicts and so on. I've seen people on here claim the fact that iPhoto won't edit video is a bug. I've seen hundreds and hundreds of posts from folks on here who are certain they've found a bug, only for their glitch to be resolved. No review is worth anything unless you know something of the reviewer, his or her knowledge and experience.
So frankly, I never bother with those reviews on any such stores, not just iPhoto on the Mac App Store.

  • Lost photos after upgrading to iPhoto 11

My library had grown to 90,000 pictures, so it was recommended (local Apple Store) to upgrade to Aperture sonce it had better database management.
I purchased Aperture for 80 it then asked that I upgrade iphoto so the library is compatible for both. I purchased iphoto 11 for $15
After installing, iphoto 'upgraded' my library to be compatible
When done, my 90,000 photo library shows as 47000 ! It can't find half my pictures
Navigating through 'Package Contents' , fortunately, I still see my pictures in 'Originals'. How do I safely get the library - ipHoto-11 or Aperture to see all 90,000 ?

(In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)

  • After reset ipad i lost photos i want recover photos

    Lost photo after reset ipad
How can i get back lost photo

If they were on the iPad when you last synced/backed up on your computer's iTunes then you can try restoring the iPad from that backup (backups and restoring). Otherwise I'm not aware of any way to recover them.

Really struggling to find the lost photos after upgrading to iOS5.0. Got my contacts and music back after restore but all my photos seem to have been wiped from phone. Is there anyway to retrieve? A prior sync a few weeks or months ago must at least have put them somewhere (i hope)....?

  • Recover lost photos and videos after 7.1.1 upgrade fail

    Hi,
I updated my Ipad mini this morning to 7.1.1, and after it failed to update, I tried to install again, after which it went into recovery mode. It looks like the last successful cloud backup was 6 months ago, so I have lost 6 months of photos and videos of my young baby.
Photo stream was turned on, so my question is - can I recover the lost photos/videos from photostream somehow?
Some feedback for Apple: fix your upgrade process, and if there is even an outside possibility that it will remove all my photos and videos as part of the update, make doing a full backup before the update mandatory.
    Thanks,
    Craig

  • I lost my itunes media folder how can I export the photos from my ipad to another location

I lost my itunes media folder and also my iPhoto files. I have the majority of the photos from iPhoto library on my iPad. How can I get them from my iPad to another location. Like exporting them to a folder on an external drive. Is this possible. I know I can move photos I've taken with the ipad to a new iphoto, but how can a get the old iphoto photos from my ipad to a new location? I'm basically starting over. Don't ask what happened. It was horrible.

An external drive? Not sure that there is any way of doing that. There are a number of WiFi transfer apps that should let you transfer the photos back to the Mac itself. Look at some of these.

This application allows you to transfer all iPad content back to your computer.

For reasons best left unsaid, in a recent rebuild of my iMac and Time Capsule, I lost all my photos. I do however have them all currently on my iPad. Is it possible to retrieve my photos from the iPad back to iPhotos (now Photos) on my iMac?

have the photos on the iPad been taken with the iPad camera or imported using the camera connection kit?
Or have they been synced to the iPad with iTunes?
You can download any photos to your mac by connecting the iPad by USB to to your Mac and import to Phots, but this way only photos from the Camera Roll will be imported.  If your photos have been synced with iTunes, you can only mail them to your mac.
See:  iOS: Syncing photos using iTunes
You can't reimport pictures synced from your computer to your device back to your computer. You can only import pictures taken by your device, or saved to it, from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device, email the photos from the device to yourself. Then download the photos from the emails to your computer.

I have my last copy of my valuable photo in my iPad since I lost my laptop earlier. However, I don't know how to dig it out to my PC again.
It is important to me, please heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp.

Connect your iPhone to your computer. Tp your pc should recognize your iPhone as a camera. Use what ever application you have on the pc to transfer files from a camera to your computer.
