Lost Photoshop link

A couple of days ago I upgraded from CS4 to CS5, and all was well.  Yesterday, I uninstalled CS4 and lost the link between LR3 and CS5.  When attempting Photo>Edit In, Photoshop and all Photoshop related options are grayed out.  It worked fine when CS4 was there, but as soon as I uninstalled it, it was gone.  All of my plugins are there, but no Photoshop.  Any idea how to get it back?  Please, keep in mind that I am not a computer nerd.....I'm a photography nerd.  Thanks in advance.

Easiest is to uninstall/reinstall CS5 (see also this Adobe KB article).

  • "Edit in Photoshop" link from Lightroom has stopped working.

My "Edit in Photoshop" link from Lightroom has stopped working.  If I hit "Cmd E" in Lightroom, Photoshop opens, but the picture doesn't appear.  I have LR 5 and PS CC 2014.  I recently uninstalled or deleted PS 6 & PS CC (not PS CC 2014).  Any suggestions?

Same problem here. I uninstalled Photoshop CS5 and reinstalled. No change.  I also tried dumping PS preferences
It opens the Photoshop application with all the menus/windows, but it never opens the actual image I chose to work on.
I'm on a Mac, using OS X Yosemite, 10.10.1  Lightroom is version 5.7  Photoshop is CS5, version 12.0.4
FWIW, I also can't automate>Photomerge ... . Makes me think Photoshop, not Lightroom, is all wacky.

My hard drive crashed. Lost Photoshop 11 software. When hard drive fixed, I bought and downloaded Elements 12. Trying to get photos in 12. All I have had for several hours are hour glasses. Photos are there if you click on hour glass, but cannot get photos to show up on the grid. What should I do?

Thank you. Unfortunately I have  very limited technical skills.I am not sure what some of your suggestions relate to and the others I would not know how to do. But I do appreciate your respnse. A good start might be if you could tell me how to turn off face recognition. Thank you again

  • I have upgraded from tiger to leopard and seem to have lost Photoshop 7.0. how do i retrieve it?

I have upgraded from tiger to leopard and seem to have lost Photoshop 7.0. Is it possible to retrieve it

Photoshop 7.0 only goes as far as 10.4.11
If you have a drive, you can put 10.4.11 on it or a partition of it
    and save some money.
I am not convinced the upgrade is worth it,
but I just do simple things.

  • Lost iPhoto link once I downgraded to Mavericks

I hated Yosemite, so I downgraded back to Mavericks. In doing so I lost the link to my iPhoto library and can't seem to recover it. It shows greyed out library. When trying to select "which iPhoto library to use" the directory either shows greyed out or if it does show with open button, nothing happens at all once I choose to open. I have tried hitting command/option on opening, but it simply says choose iPhoto library and does not show option to rebuild as the Apple support suggested. Any help to rebuild this would much appreciated.
    Thank you
    Steve Miller

    It didn't. It doesn't.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Can you explain a bit more? Lost what? – the installed program? the disk?
What do you mean "Has the Serial Code"?
How did you get Photoshop in the first place?

  • How do i not have my photoshop linked to my macintosh hard drive because it slows down the program by using my hard drive space

how do i not have my photoshop linked to my macintosh hard drive because it slows down the program by using my hard drive space

Which version of mac os x and photoshop are you using?
How much free space is on your hard drive?
How much ram do you have?
Photoshop needs to use your hard drive for scratch space.
If you have more than one hard drive (not partition), you can assign photoshop's scratch disk to another hard drive.

    Hi All,
I've just been hired in a new editing company where we are producing pictures in black and white to illustrate our book.

The problem I encounter on my session is that I can't send picture to this photoshop script using Bridge ... Can someone help me on this ?

If you used Sync to do that "import", disable Sync for at least one of those Profiles.
    </blockquote>
Thank you for your suggestion. I have Sync enabled for all the profiles. To my surprise, however, Sync was of no use in getting Default's extension collection into Shopping. For that I had to resort to the article http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox.
I will try disabling Sync on Shopping.

  • Lightroom 1.2 has lost Photoshop CS3 as external editor

In Lightroom 1 I used Photoshop CS2 as external editor and lightroom has found it with the first choice of external editors.
In Lightroom 1.1 I used Photoshop CS3 as external editor and lightroom has also found CS3 in the first choice of external editors. CS2 was deinstalled.
Now I have Lightroom 1.2 and this version doesn't automatically find cs3. I have only installed lightroom 1.2 and have nothing done with the installation of cs3.
How can I solve the problem, because I want to have two external editors?

Try the following link. The upgrade to 1.2 lost track of CS3 for me too. I fixed it by editing the registry as outlined in the article.

  • Lost Photoshop CS4 when hard drive died.  Is is possible to download it again?

I purchased Photoshop CS4 and InDesign in 2008 as a student as a download.  My hardrive recently died so I lost all of my installed software.  I purchased these so long ago that I no longer have the e-mail receipt or serial number.  Is it possible to somehow download CS4 again so I don't have to pay for PS again?
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi mogcat,
You can download Adobe CS4 softwares from the direct download links available at : http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
But make sure you follow the important steps mentioned on the page before initiating the download.

  • How Do I Search For A Photoshop Link

I have been given the following link to a page showing search paths on an iMac computer. Can anyone please tell me how I create the search.? I have tried Spotlight which does not recognise the paths listed.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/twain-installed-photoshop-elements-11.html

Yes, sorry Barbara. Although this post is related, I posted it separately because I have been given several unrelated paths like this to trace over the last few weeks since buying my Mac and I couldn't find out how to arrive at the search destination. It seemed to me much more obvious on Windows. Apart from that I can find no "Support Files" to click on in the finder window and I've just realised I should have posted this in the Apple forum.

  • Lost Network Link

    Hello -
I have a PowerMacG5 (Dual 2GhZ) running OS X Server10.4.6 . It is my department web and file server. Over the weekend it lost network connectivity for a little over a minute. This is turn cause lookupd, nfs, and dns problems. My network engineers swear nothing happened to the network. Assuming that is true is there anything else that could have caused the below?

Maybe a power failure and than a reboot?!
Or after an updat of the system software and if you've edit the hostconfig file and changed the HOSTNAME=-AUTOMATIC_ to HOSTNAME=FQDN? Than the automatic lookup doesn't work as it should.

  • I have lost the link to the backlight on my keyboard of my macbook

I have lost the backlight of my keyboard and when I go to the 'keyboard' in System Preferences, there is no link. Is it possible to lose this information by using a 'disk sweeper'?

Very straightforward. 10.6 by default does what's called an archive and install, it will only replace your system, you won't lose any files. Just to be safe though you should ALWAYS make a current backup before making any changes in the event that something does go wrong.
Insert your 10.6 disc and restart while holding the C key, should be pretty painless. Remember to run software update when the install is done to get up to date.

  • Changed HDD in NAS Drive, lost all links

    Hello world,
I keep all photos in separate directory structure (16.000 photos in 140 directories), and have the mediathek on the local drive.
Now I have changed the HDDs in my NAS drive (dLink DNS 323, connection via smb), and restored all folders from a backup. In the finder I can see all photos (randomly tested).
Although the share-name and the user-ID are set up the same as before, Aperture lost the connection to all photos.
I am not going to believe that I have to refresh the links to every single photo...
    Any idea anyone?
    Greetings from Germany

    Hello,
usually using "Reconnect All" should suffice to reconnect all files, if you restored your library from a backup.
But I am not quite sure, how you restored your library - do I understand this correctly:
Your Aperture Library (Mediathek in german) is on the system drive?
Your referenced master image files / original image files are on a NAS drive?
You had to replace the drives in the NAS and restored from backup?
Then your estored files are no longer identical to the files Aperture is referencing, and you will have to reconnect.
In the long term the NAS setup might be risky; Apple recommends to keep the Aperture library on a local volume, MacOS X extended formatted - your NAS is neither local nor MacOS X extended, see this Support Article:
Aperture: Use locally mounted Mac OS X Extended volumes for your Aperture library:
          http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3252
    To reconnect your images quickly:
Make sure your NAS is properly mounted.
Create a smart album containing all referenced images:
File > New > Smart Album
Add rule: File status is referenced  (or offline, or missing)
Select all images in the smart album.
From Aperture's  main menu bar select:   File > Locate referenced files
in the "Referenced Files" panel you see two panes:
In the upper pane select the first image with a missing original (master) image file.
In the lower pane point the File chooser to the location of the master on your NAS.
Now the "Reconnect" buttons should appear. Press "Reconnect All". If you are lucky, this will reconnect all missing original files at once.
Good Luck, und "Hummel Hummel" aus Hamburg von der Waterkant!
