Lost Plug-in settings, help please.

Hi , I lost my original plug-in settings from folder: Library/Application Support/Logic/Plug-In Settings
My version of Logic is: 9.1.8.
I was thinking, that I could copy them from another computer. But is there any way I could find them on the internet anywhere, or if apple could send me them by any chance.

In that case, reinstall Logic via the App store app/purchased tab... and then go to Download Additional Content in the Logic Pro menu bar under Logic Pro... and download all additional content..
Much less chance of any future issues that way....
Btw.. if you simply deleted the original folder it should still be in your trash and so you can open trash and right click on folder and select "put back".... assuming you didn't empty your trash in the meantime?

Lost plug-in settings after 7.2 upgrade

Hi after upgrading to 7.2 I seem to have lost Logic's factory presets for it's channel strip settings. On the arrange page, I used to go to the channel strip and click on the "inserts" triangle and one of the options was "factory". This option is no longer there.
FWIW, I do have a folder "Plug-in Settings" in this path:
System/Library/App support/ logic/plug-in settings.
Does anyone know what may have happened to these settings?

All my factory settings are still in the folder you specify - my 3rd. party and custom presets are in ~ /Library/App support/ logic/plug-in settings. Did you look in there by any chance?
Perhaps it depends on the user permissions set at the time you installed Logic?
If you've lost them, and don't want to do a reinstall, email me and I'll send you a .zip archive of them all. I can't imagine that it's a violation of anything, as they're useless if you aren't a licensed Logic user.

Crash trying to change export to AVI audio settings - help please

Hi all.
I have Quicktime Pro 7.6.5
This problem has been causing me great frustration for some time now.
Here is what I am trying to do; I want to export some trailers to AVI format, so I can then encode them to a different format (in another program). The problem is when I go File->Export... (choose path) and select export "Movie to AVI" and click "Options..." Now I can change the video setting no problem at all, but as soon as I press "Settings..." for the sound Quick Time blows up. and crashes, and burns. Badly.

P.S. steps to reproduce:
Download and save a file from apple trailers (I used HD 720p trailers)
Go File->Export...
Choose a suitable destination with at least 10Gig free
Select export "Movie to AVI"
It doesn't matter if use "Default Settings" or "most recent Settings"
Click "Options..."
(Video settings don't seem to matter but for reference are: compression = None, FPS = Best, Color Depth = Millions)
Under Sound (make sure it's ticked) click "Setting..."
As soon as you hit settings it blows up.

I'm in exactly the same boat here.
Running Quicktime 7.7.6 in Snow Leopard.
Disabled Perian
As soon as I click "Settings" in the Options window I get "Quicktime Player 7 Quit unexpectedly.

K7N2 Delta2 Platinum Bios settings help please

Please forgive me if I seem a bit stupid, but we all have to start somewhere.
As you can see from my signature although an old socket A set-up this should still perform pretty well when my son plays his games (Age of Empires 3) but the dam thing keeps crashing (back to the desktop) and performace is not what it should be.
I built the pc my self so I am ok to fiddle about with things but I am not as knowalgable as most people on this forum, So I would like someone to help me with some BIOS settings on this board, can anyone recommend some settings that would work well.

Having now read the excellent post by klondike on this board I want to update my bios to the 11.50 (B50) version.
I know about all the dangers of updating your bios but as I am having prob’s with my board and it seems like the B5 bios is better that the B4, I want to update it but I have tried now for 2 hours to update it and I am obviously doing something very wrong and it is doing my head in!
I have read the MSI guide to bios updating and others on this forum but I can’t get anything to even start to work.
I have downloaded and un-zipped the B50 bios update for my board. I have put the unzipped files in a folder in the C: drive I have named “test” I have made a dos floppy and set my bios to 1st boot floppy but when I boot to it at the A prompt you type C: (and enter) and it says bad file or command (I can’t remember which) so I then tried burning the bios files to a cd and once again after booting to the dos there is no option to get it to boot or find the cd drive you just get the A: prompt
I have also tried updating it though live update but live update says the latest version is 11.4 (B4) and that is what my board already has so I can’t update it from there as MSI have not updated their live update page.
I am almost at my wits end and feel like setting light to the dam thing, all I want to do is up date my bios its not that hard I have done it before on other pc’s but I can’t remember how I did it! (thats my age)
Please can someone spare me a few minutes to talk me though this.

okay... soo i just bought myself an iphone two days ago...... i installed the newest version of itunes.. when i tried to open the itunes store, it gave me the message itunes store cant be accessed at this time blah blah blah and then something like unknown error (11333)... i uninstalled it about 5 times and reinstalled it again to try to get the store working but failed.. finally i had to install a later version (i think itunes 7.3) or something to get my phone activated.. but i really want to get the newest version to work!!!!
any advice would help me out alot!!!!! thanks!!!

here is my diagnostics test, im not sure if its all good.. but if anyone finds out a solution to this please let me know?? is apple even working on this problem??? there must be thousands of people with this problem!! i just hope they can figure it out soon!!!!!!!!!

Can not connect to iCloud in settings, help please.

I clicked on iCloud and I get a "Verification Failed" message, that says "The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "setup.icloud.com" which could put your confidential information at risk." I can't connect to Facebook or the App Store either. Any help would be awesome. Also I keep getting a "Software Update Unavailable" message when trying to install the new update.

My wifes Iphone 4 with the new 8.xx upgrade on 11/24/14 created an App Store and Icloud issue where the error msg was also "I clicked on iCloud and I get a "Verification Failed" message, that says "The certificate for this server is invalid. Ipad 1 Erase all settings help please

I just got my ipad2. I'm getting ready to sell my ipad 1 to a friend of mine. After I set up my new ipad 2 I went to delete all the content and personal info off my ipad 1.

Reset
Then I chose Erase all Content and Settings.
Now "nothing" comes up on the screen except the apple logo.
Did I mess up? Will my friend still be able to connect to his itunes and load the IOS and HIS itunes account or will he need to go to Apple for help?
I hope I didn't kill my ipad 1.

Thank you! So when I sale it my friend should be able to "restore" from his itunes account?
I just needed to make sure al my personal and church business information was off the ipad 1 before I sold it.

Picture Settings Help Please.

I am new to this forum and did do a basic search to see if this topic has been covered and did not see one. Can anyone please tell me how to change the settings on my computer so that every picture I ever view online or in my mail is not saved to iphoto? Most of the time, when I google info for my mac, I need to call a translator, so basic language would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this. I have so much memory dedicated to stupid logos, banners and ads that I can't update my ipad!

Please call your apple store or apple care about this. I know that my Apple stores offer free or a minimal charge class that shows you what you need to know about your mac. Some people find this more beneficial then just learning as they go. I have found that some things that I am trying to do are so simple that I over look it completely. Asking in this community is a great way to figure things out. You have done this, which is superb!
Images should not be downloading themselves from safari to iPhoto without your explicit concent or action to do so. This is not a default setting. You can tell safari to save your images, if you are the one who is saving them, to a different folder if you wish, by going to safari, click File in the upper left of the screen next to the  logo. Then click preferences. you should see a screen like this
Eight rows down you can see a setting that says, save downloaded files to: (I have Downloads). You may want to make sure Safari did not set this to iPhoto.

Installed OSX 10.4.3 And Lost Internet Connection ! Help Please.

I have posted this in the Tiger forum but know there is a lot of general expertise amongst FCE users (grovel, grovel!) and I only upgraded to Tiger so that I can get FCE 3.5 for this computer!
I have updated from 10.3.9 (Panther) to 10.4.3 (Tiger) on my eMac.
Everything appears OK except I cannot connect to the internet.
On finishing the installation I got an error message saying "Could not load login file".
Incidentally, during the installation I disconnected all peripherals including my USB Broadband "modem" (I can't remember the correct terminology).
My "modem" is a "Speedtouch" and in the dock I have an application named "Diagnostics" which has to open to allow the Speedtouch to connect to the internet.
"Diagnostics" will not open.
When I look in my Network configurations the Speedtouch name has a red dot alongside and it is not connected.
If I open Network Port Configurations the Speedtouch name is greyed out and cannot be selected.
Any help would be appreciated.

PS. Luckily my iMac internet connection is OK !

Nope! I have nothing resembling a stingray or any other aquatic creature!
OSX 10.4.3 was successfully installed thanks to the resolution of the above hiccup and I have now downloaded and installed the OSX 10.4.7 Combo update which brings my OS to "state of the art" status.
I will now be able to install FCE 3.5 - if I can get round to parting with the cash!
Then we'll see what everyone's talking about.

Lost photos and albums - help please!

Hello
I'm worried that lots of photos in my iPhoto are lost.
I have clicked on some albums and they are empty.
Plus, some other older albums just don't seem to be there.
I just stopped myself importing 3,000 pics (I am not sure how I started importing pics, or where they were coming from!) and am worried that this would be the cause.
I haven't used Time Machine for a while, but could I get my old albums from there?
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

In the future do not select the erase button in iPhoto - in stead select to keep the photos and wait until at ldease one sucessful backup cycle has completed then use hte camera's format command to erase and reformat the SD card
for now
1 -- Back up your iPhoto library,
2 -- Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys
3 -- and launch iPhoto
4 --- rebuild your iPhoto library database
does different formatting with step numbers make it more clear?

FCE Capture Settings Help Please!

I'm trying to figure out how to set the capture settings correctly in FCE. I have a Panasonic AG-DVX100BP and when I capture the video, the quality is terrible. Now I know that the capture viewer doesn't play the video in the quality that it is recorded. But I tested what I captured by exporting it to a QT movie and it still looks terrible. Yet, when I view the video in the preview window, before I capture, it looks exactly how I want it to look, how it was shot. My current settings are: Format: DV/Panasonic DVCPRO Rate: 29.97fps Use: DV-NTSC. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

Is your clip in the QuickTime player set to high quality playback? You really need to view this material on a video monitor, not a computer monitor.

Print settings help please!

I recently upgraded to Photoshop CC and now when I print on my Z-3100 44" printer, the colors are all blown out. It looks like a nuclear bomb went off, vice a landscape scene. If anyone can point me to some print configurations help, I would appreciate it!
