Lost previous data in ical; help
previous months data gone from ical on my ipad; dont sync with my old imac, so this is really my only device; any suggestions on how to retrieve events??
Restore from backup if the backup has the data you want.

Lost all data in ical and Enourage
Hello,
I came back to my desktop this afternoon only to find that ALL my data in ical and Entourage was wiped out. I have 4 calendars in ical including the "Entourage" calendar which syncs. I have everything also set up on MobileMe which for the most part was working ok with sycning (I would get duplicates quiet often). I have an iMac, iphone and macbook all syncing with Mobile Me and do back up my files with timemachine. Can anyone help me to restore my calendars from ical?

I presume you did not follow the procedures listed in MobileMe: Downgrading from the MobileMe Calendar Beta.
If not, try this:
1. Quit iCal, and enter Time Machine.
2. Choose the timeline that you want to use for your restore.
3. Select your "Home" Folder.
4. Open the "Library" Folder.
5. Click on the "Calendars" Folder.
6. Choose "Restore" from Time Machine.
7. Select the Home/Library Folder for the destination. Choose to replace the current folder.

Question about Apps lost during data recovery. Help!
My hard drive recently failed on my 2007 imac and having not backed up my mac for about 18 months I had to pay specialists to retrieve my data, which they put onto an external drive. I then got a new 1TB hybrid drive installed. Tonight I finally got my computer back. Very naively I was thinking I would be able to pick back up from where I left off. Before my drive broke I had Mavericks and was fully up to date running software like Logic X. Now I am back on 10.6.8. Can I just skip now straight up to Yosemite?
You don't have an option, Mavericks is no longer available so Yosemite is the only available OS available from Mac App Store.
Logic will open if you install it from the Mac App Store just as any other previously purchased applications. -
Changed to "Securing shared disk: with accounts" and lost previous data?
I installed a TC in July and have been doing Time Machine backups to it ever since. Today, I decided to add File Sharing accounts using the Airport Utility. I created two accounts. The next time Time Machine ran, it failed on login. I reconfigured it to use one of the two new accounts, and (not surprisingly, in retrospect) it began a complete, new backup.
The Finder tells me that 150GB of the TC disk is already in use. I hope that's the space used by my former backups... but how do I find them? Whenever I try and open the TC in the Finder, I'm prompted for one of the new account/passwords, neither of which allows me to view any of the former data.
Is it possible to access data that was written to the TC disk prior to my switching to account-controlled file sharing?Actually, it turns out it was still there and accessible. I went back to Airport Utility and switched "Securing shared disk" back to using a disk password, as before, and there was the "full" disk . . . containing my original sparseimage file, as well as a new Users folder and a Shared folder. The latter contained the sparseimage file from the new backup.
I hope that I can replace the new sparseimage file (in /Shared) with the original one (in /), and switch back to using accounts to control access to the TC disk. -

When was the last time you did a backup with iTunes? If your latest backup has all of the material you have been using you can recover by connecting to the computer you sync with and restore the content via iTunes. Attach to your computer, open iTunes and do a backup restore.

when updating my iphone 4s to the new ios 6, it lost all data including photos, contacts etc. itunes now cannot find previous back up. Is there anyway i can get this lost data

I lost all my data in ical does this have to do with icloud/mobil me? There is no account related to my icalendar. When I ty to enter my ATT/Yahoo it says that they do not allow CALDAV?? HElP Somebody!

If this is dot mac or Mobile me you can still use IMAP eMail in the iCloud.
Do not delete the old account yet. sign up for an iCloud account if you haven't.
MAKE A NEW ACCOUNT - DO NOT TRY TO ALTER YOUR EXISTING ACCOUNT.
I understand .mac mail will still come through. Do not delete the old account yet.
You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
• Server name: imap.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 993
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
• Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 587
• SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria: 8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers. If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message. Go to http://appleid.apple.com then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.

updated my iphone 4 today to new operating system...said error 50 and i lost all my previous data...there is no back up to get my contacts and photos back although it did say it was backing up first before it installed the new operating system but i cant find it anywhere...so frustrated at losing everything

I don't think you're on iOS 5, I think you're using iOS 6. That's the latest version.
Unless you've used iCloud to back up your documents, you won't be able to restore them. And for future reference, you don't have to uninstall Pages to update your iPad anymore. Sorry about this. -
I need to rebuld the "C" drive on my computer will need to reinstall adobe cs6 when I am done, but have moved recently and lost the data to get that done! Help!

ok turn it off manually and turn it back on while holding the apple logo bottor or the function botton this will give you an option to choose if you want to startup with osx ow windows. let me know if this works

Hi All, i recently done a back up and update & restore, but ive lost my notes, my text messages and my reminders and notes on the calender, i also have lost the data i had in an app which was very important to me. Please Please help me, i,m total novice.
I did this back up because i was instructed by my service provider. This was supposed to sort out my losing connection problem, which it didn't, it instead gave me a new problem. If there is anyone out there who can help me to retrieve my lost information i would appreciate it.
Thank You in advance.You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.
