Lost Previous Downloaded Songs Help?

Received an iPod Shuffle for Christmas and have some problems. Redeemed a download card at iTunes Music Store while visiting my aunt. Downloaded (2) songs, worked with no problems.
Now I go home and can't get the iTunes set-up disk to work on my home computer. Went to the iTunes website and downloaded software from there. Downloaded an additional (4) songs but now the original (2) songs are not there? What happened? You can go to My Computer and access the iPod when connected to the USB Port and several folders are there that has all (6) songs shown, but only plays the most recent (4) songs, Why? Any Ideas?

When you say that you've downloaded wirelessly through iTunes, are you referring to songs downloaded via the iTunes wi fi store on an iPod touch or iPhone? If so, the next time you have songs on the device that are not in iTunes, you may want to try the following (just to be safe) prior to connecting the device to the computer.
1. In iTunes click Edit > Preferences > Syncing tab
2. Select the option to disable automatic syncing and click OK
Connect the device and click File > Transfer Purchases from iPod
Regarding the lost songs, I would email iTunes Store support and explain what happened. They should be able to help you get these songs back, in a pinch.

As always, make sure you back up your iTunes store purchases to avoid any loss of your valuable music in the future.

  • TS3297 when I attempt to play a newly downloaded song on my IMac, it starts then skips to a previously downloaded song?

I'm wondering if I have incorrectly downloaded an album from ITunes.  When I attempt to play songs from it, they are incomplete and my IMac will skip to a previously downloaded song.  Please help?

Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

  • Previously Downloaded songs being re-downloaded suddenly disappear

I have 1310 previously purchased songs and I am re-downloading them to my new PC. I had downloaded 315 songs when I noticed the file save location was wrong, so I edited it. After that, the remaining 995 songs disappeared from the downloads menu and the normal "download all" in the account information screen is not there.
Any ideas how to find them?

And all songs I downloaded have disappeared as well

  • ITunes Downloading Previously Downloaded Songs

I know that we're all well used to iTunes doing weird things in its attempts to totally take over our computers, but I've never know it do this before.
I recently switched to using Windows 7 from XP, and copied my library into my new iTunes. I synced my iPod ok and it's been fine.
However, last week, when I started iTunes, the iTunes Store downloaded a previously downloaded track then today when I switched it on, it downloaded an entire album that I've had for a good couple of years. When I looked at the album in my library after the download, I couldn't see anything had actually changed - the same number of tracks, the same play counts, genres, ratings etc.
I was watching as it downloaded - it had duplicates of my tracks, the ones it was in the process of downloading were "greyed out", then once it had finished downloading and processing the track, it deleted it, leaving me, at the end of this process with my original tracks with their stats untouched as previously mentioned.
Has anyone else had iTunes do this or is there some setting or other that I have or haven't got switched off or on?  I'm on version 11.1.5 of iTunes.

I've just found a folder in my Recycle Bin called "Original iTunes Purchases 1"

  • Previously downloaded songs stop and start over during re-download.

I have several questions, and I'm hoping that someone can help me out with at least one of them. I have a 4th generation iPod Touch, and recently I had to start syncing to another computer after all of the USB ports on my computer stopped working out of nowhere (help on that issue would also be appreciated). Everything seemed to be working fine, I was manually managing my music and burned some CDs to transfer to my iPod. They transferred smoothly, and then afterwards I moved all of the tracks on the computer onto an external hard drive and deleted them from iTunes because the memory was getting too full. I hadn't even plugged the iPod back in or synced it wirelessly after that, but out of nowhere all of the music from the CDs and 78 tracks that I purchased on the iPod just deleted. I got all but one of the purchased songs back, and with that one, when I re-download it the meter fills almost all the way and starts over (this is all being done from the iPod itself). It has been doing this for several hours. In attempt to move all of the music from the CDs back, I took the music from the external hard drive and manually moved it to my iPod through iTunes. When I look at the iPod in iTunes, it appeared as if all of my music was back. On the device, however, the CDs still weren't there. I eventually gave up hope and ejected my iPod, only to realize that some of my music purchased on the iPod had lost its cover art. In effort to fix this (and this has worked before), I erased all of said songs and started to re-download from the Purchased list in iTunes (on the device). Now, all of the songs in the process of being re-downloaded have a gray music note next to them in the Downloads list and either say "Download error", act like the song mentioned earlier, or do nothing at all. I really just want my purchased music back, so if you know anything about the issue or have experienced something similar, please help me!

I suggest for you to add all the songs to your iTunes library. Once everything is in place, sync it to your iPod. You may also try wireless syncing as well.

  • Previously Downloaded song won't play

  • Error message 100008 for downloading songs - HELP!

I am purchasing music but when I try to download it says the file may be corrupt, error 100008. I have already tried different versions of the songs and have reinstalled Itunes. I'm really at a loss - any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks

Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, followTroubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart.
Avoid using an older or modified .ipsw file. Try moving the current .ipsw file (see Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations), or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw.

  • Half downloaded songs, help?

I noticed the other day, a couple of the songs I've purchased from iTunes have downloaded, but only about half the song? Is there anyway to sort this out at all because I'm getting nowhere with actually trying to contact iTunes themselves

If you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past purchases (see iTunes in the cloud availability) then delete the current copies and download again, otherwise, or if that doesn't help, use the report a problem links in your account history to report a problem.

  • I'm having trouble syncing previously downloaded songs and full albums.

For example, I downloaded the iTunes single "Downtown" by Lady Antebellum when it first came out months ago. Today, I downloaded the rest of the album, "Golden" (I ordered the pre-order). Now, once it was in my iTunes, I wanted to adjust the information on "Downtown" so it fell where it should in the album (4 of 12). I highlighted the track, went to "Get Info," and adjusted all of the information to match the album "Golden." However, now instead of making "Downtown" track number four, it puts it at the end of the album and still lists a number 1 next to it.
Any solutions for this, or am I totally SOL?

    Hello IlliniKat91,
I definitely understand wanting having your music in the correct order on the album.  I found an article that addresses this specific issue to help get track 4 where it should be:
Archived - Fixing Incorrect Song or Album Listings in iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TA24677
You will need to get info on the tracks and update the track information there:
I hope this gets you back on track!
    Best,

  • I have lost previously downloaded music during back-up.

I am trying to find music that I have lost during previous back-ups with older versions of iTunes, I had backed up my library to my external hard drive. I know where they are and am unable to get my music back. I have tried opening them. I have tried dragging and dropping them into my iTunes. I have tried double clicking, but have had no results. Any suggestions? Is my music lost forever?
I tried updateing my current iTunes to the latest version and it is running into install errors also. So...that was a bust as well. :'(

You buy one and only one download.  It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.  Use this to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy (not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases

  • Lost Previously Purchased Songs when upgraded to iTunes 7.0.2.16

I upgraded to iTunes 7.0.2.16 and now when I sync my iPod I receive a message stating "Some of the items in the iTunes library, including ... were not copied to your iPod ... because you are not authorized to play them on this computer"
However, I purchased them from the iTunes Store, using an iTunes card and have had them on my iPod previously. But now, they have been removed from my iPod and I cannot get them to load back on. Same pc, same iPod, the only thing that has changed is the version of iTunes that I have loaded on my machine... The are still loaded on my hard drive of my pc.
    Please help!

I'm in serious need of help.
    Indeed.
To be honest I don't understand how you were able to hold on to even 2 of your purchased items.
Anyways, if the music is still on your iPod, here is a post you may find of interest.
If that's not applicable, Apple's policy is clear: iTS purchases can be downloaded only once. It is your responsibility to make back-ups.
That being said, at their discretion they have made one-time exceptions to this policy. You can ask for an exception by submitting the form at the bottom of this page:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/backup/
Good Luck! But whatever the response from Apple, remember:
Your music is valuable - please back it up!

  • I think I lost all my songs help!

Tranfered my songs from my Ipod to my computer via X-Play. Since my songs and my Ipod were formated for a mac I had to reformat my Ipod to work with windows. In order to reformat it had to erase my library on the Ipod itself. My Itunes library list all the songs, snce I "thought" I transfered them saftly. Now I have no back up. Itunes lists all the file sizes and memory stating that they are there. I have thousands of deads tracks. Can't find them at all. Have been studying posts trying to cure it. Hope not all is lost.

You Might be able to have the store grant you a one time re-download of your entire purchase history, it has been done before as mentioned in this blog entry:
    http://thecontent.wordpress.com/2006/05/24/itunes-lets-people-re-download-all-yo ur-music-once/
"Itunes Music Store Says "In the event that a customers entire music library is lost, the iTunes Music Store does re-grant the purchases history. Please keep in mind that Apple does not offer protection against the loss of purchases, so this is a one-time exception.""
