Lost previous version serial to LR-4

I purchased, downloaded and installed Lightroom-5 (Windows). I entered the serial number provided, but then it asked me for my previous version serial. I had Lightroom-4 on my previous computer which suffered an unfortunate sudden death, the retail box and CD's are no longer in existence. How can I get past this license screen? I didn't have much use for LR-4 at the time and must not have registered it because it does not show up in my product listing.

OK, I understand it was a big mistake on my part to not register or record the serial somewhere, combined with an untimely computer death.... but now that I've paid the $79.00, downloaded and installed the upgrade version, how can I get the full version? I'll pay the difference, that's not an issue. The online help chat does not work and there are no phone numbers listed to call for support. It seems ridiculous that my only option is to pay the full price and download again. Did I just set $79.00 on fire?

Cloud programs do not use serial numbers... you log in to your paid Cloud account to download & install & activate... you MAY need to log out of the Cloud and restart your computer and log back in to the Cloud for things to work

Did a System Restore, Lost previous versions of OS X Updates

So my hard drive died. Got a new HDD, formatted and installed OSX Snow Leopard from the recovery disk that came with the computer. Everything up and running just fine. App store icon has a line through it and cannot open due to the software not being current. Looks as if I need to install a new OSX version but I cannot launch app store. Seems like kind of a catch 22 at the moment. Previously had mavericks installed.
So I tried the migration tool with my external time machine back up and it will not let me migrate due to the old Snow leopard installation that i'm running after the recovery and from when the time machine snapshot was taken with mavericks.

I'm having trouble activating CS6 Design Premium with a VALID product Code and a VALID previous version code, CS 5.5 Design Premium. Why isn't it accepted?

I purchased CS6 Design Premium directly from Adobe, upgrading from CS5.5 Design Premium. Now it won't acknowledge my valid previous version serial number. And I have the original documentation.
What should I do? I can use the trial version, but that is not the solution I need.

First you should check your Adobe account online to confirm that you are using the same serial number associated with your older version.
If things still lok okay then you will need to get in touch with Adobe support thru chat and see if you can get their help in resolving the matter. They might not be available during the weekend.

According to Wikipedia, 4 years ago you would most likely have bought Photoshop CS5.
You can download Photoshop CS5 from Adobe. Start here:

You'll need your serial number to activate it. If you don't have that, you can likely find it on Adobe's main web site after you've logged-in with your Adobe ID. See the Find your serial number quickly link to pursue that.

When I use FF 4 I have problem with my Intranet user interface, I lost the ability to acces my intranet database? So for now I go back to previous version. I hope that kind of problem can be fix soon.

I usually use FF 3.6 version to download data from my company intranet. With old FF version I can access the intranet easily. But when I upgrade to the FF 4, I lost the ability to customize the variable data I want to collect. It kind of stuck. Usually when I right click I have option what to do. with the new version my option is none. nothing change. It's frustrating. So now, I go back to previous version. You said previous version is vulnerable to phishing or virus or something but still it user friendly for me to access my company data. Please fix that bug and I'll upgrade to the newest version.

I want to add my progress about this problem. I find this problem in IE 9, but it has compatibility view, though not too perfect but quite helpful. Whereas FF 4, from article in support, said it doesn't have one. So, I beg you FF team to accommodate us who still deal with old web design so we still can use this FF 4. Please..please..please. Unfortunately not. Lion has made many adjustments to the previous system. Try opening your pdfs in keynote.

I lost my menu bar and AVG Security Toolbar and immediately switched back to the previous version of Firefox.

Tina Hadley did you migrate/transfer your applications over to your new Macintosh? If so this could cause problems with your serial number being recognized. Please run the available uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once this is done you will also want to run the CC Cleaner Tool.
