Lost printer driver

My computer looses the printer drivers every so often and some times they come back? is there something i can do or stop doing? i can print one day and then it may be quite awhile before it will print again?

What model printer do you have and how is it connected ??
You can also check your spooler service. If you are running Win 7 or Vista, type services in the search bar. When the window opens , scroll down to print spooler and make sure it is started and set to automatic.

PDF printer driver not loading

Ok...first off I had CS on another laptop and the driver was there. Got new laptop loaded CS and PDF printer didn't load up. Second. I got and loaded CS3 (not just because of the lost printer driver, but...) and loaded it onto the same *new* laptop and STILL not PDF printer driver. I've looked at the downloads and can't find it available there. This is driving me nuts. I develop proposals and other documents in word (not to mention the PIA factor of not being able to print directly to PDF in AI or PS) and have to dump files to a shared directory so that I can use Acrobat Pro 6 on a desktop before sending out to clients. Arrrrrgghhh (and yes, I know that Talk Like a Pirate Day isn't until Sept 19th.)
I have tried reinstalling or 'fixing' ABPro umpteen times now and find myself fulfilling Einstein's definition of insansity. Any ideas on what I can do to get a *&^%# PDF printer driver to load?

Lost Deskjet 5740 printer driver after upgrade.

Lost Deskjet 5740 printer driver after upgrade. HP site has a download but it does not appear in the driver list after downloading it. Ideas?

Okay, as of last night, both the printers are working fine. I uninstalled the 5740 and then tried several different rearrangements of the two printers. First I tried hooking the 5150 to the AEBS and it printed fine. Then I tried hooking the 5740 to the AE and it printed fine. Finally, I tried my original configuration with the 5740 hooked to the AEBS and it printed fine! Very frustrating.... I'm not sure if Apple sent an update I downloaded in the meantime that fixed the problem or what. I can't think of any other possible explanation.
So to recap, I can vouch that I have an HP Deskjet 5740 connected to an AEBS and an HP Deskjet 5150 connected to an AE, all set up on a WDS (wireless distribution system) with Leopard and everything works as expected. Hopefully your printer magically started working again as well Bibycat.

Printer driver was not installed. operation could not be completed

Adobe Acrobat 9.3.1
windows XP system.
Cannot add the Adobe PDF printer get the error message:
Printer driver was not installed. operation could not be completed
Software installs/repair try to install the Adobe PDF printer but they do not. No error message; just that the Adobe PDF printer does not show up
I tried adding the Adobe PDF printer manually.
The drivers start to load and then fails giving the error message in the subject line.
I cleared the print spoolers and rebooted.
I have uninstalled Adobe Acrobat /rebooted/reinstalled. Install says it adds the Adobe PDF printer but nothing happens.
Problem exists for all users including Administrators.
I have renamed the C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86 and C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\Printers folder.
Both are recreated when I try to reinstall the Adobe PDF Printer.
I can add network printers with no errors.
I have cleared Adobe PDF printer from registry. e.g.:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3\Adobe PDF Converter
I even imported Adobe PDF registry entry from a working system taking care to adjust the system values accordingly.
I also verified permissions for registry keys and application/driver folders were set correctly.
I have completely reloaded the installation software and imported the Adobe PDF drivers from a working system.
Not sure if this an Adobe issue, but that appears to be the only printer I cannot re-add.
Any constructive ideas on what to try next would be appreciated.

When I upgraded to Reader 9.4 I lost all ability to print Adobe pdf's. Finally uninstalled 9.4, re-installed 8.2, changed the filename "high quality.joboptions" to "Adobe PDF converter.joboptions" and was back in business. Pretty screwey fix, but after getting no help from online chats with Adobe and a day's lost work I was happy to have it.

HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf MFP Printer Duplex Printing Driver

Hello,
I'm consdering about buying HP Laser Jet Pro M1212nf MFP Printer.
I feel like it's the printer that has all the specs that I need.... Except for automatic duplex printing.
Automatic duplex printing is super important to me and I'm sad that the M1212nf does not provide it.
However, I did see that it has duplex printing driver support.
I was wondering what this driver support is (I've been spending hours on the web trying to get a definition but nothing!)
and if it will work on a Mac, I saw couple threads that said that some HP printers don't offer duplex printing driver support for mac computers.
So basilally, I'm wondering how the duplex printing will work if I install the driver support.

HP LaserJet 2200DN Printer Driver

I have an old 2200DN printer but up to now it has been a jewel. As a high school teacher, I used it for years to print materials for my classes.
Somehow , in the last 24 hours, I've lost the connection between my printer and my computers. My HP OfficeJet driver shows up and that printer works for both of my computers but the LaserJet printer, my workhorse, doesn't work.
My computers are Macintosh computers. One computer is running OS 10.9.5 and the other is 10.6.
When I try to print, the computer tells me the printer is offline although I think I have it fully connected. I tried using my old HP disk but the message I get is that my computer no longer accepts the classical format---or something.
I've tried the HP site but when I type in LaserJet 2200DN the search comes back "unknown."
I've spent hours today trying to find a printer driver to reinstall.
Help.

My G4 can't read the printer driver disc of my BRAND NEW HP All-in-One

I am tearing my hair out on this one. I had an older HP AIO that died on me yesterday, so I ran out and bought a spanking new version, the C4280. I don't recall having any problem setting up the older printer (a psc 1315) and I can't remember whether I installed the driver from the disc or the website. Anyway, I got to Step 11, connected the USB cord as instructed, put in the disc, and my little mushroom whirred in a whisper for about 30 seconds, then spat out the disc. I tried again, unplugged, rebooted, yadda yadda, every config. I could think of, and I still got the whhrrrrwhirrrr, SPIT. I called HP and the 4280 is so new they don't have the drivers up on the website yet, so the very nice Canadian techie verfied that yes, there was only one CD for both Windows AND Mac, and yes, my G4 could read other CDs (my LaCie)--but strangely enough NOT the printer driver for the original psc 1315, which got the same whirrrr-SPIT treatment. So either I originally got the driver off the website, or my G4 has lost some critical cells since then. Now I have occasionally had trouble reading commercial DVDs--I get told they're a blank disc. But I never even made it to that stage with this printer driver disc.
The upshot is they are FedExing me a new printer driver disc tomorrow, this one apparently made especially for MACs. But I'm nervous because of what happened when I tried to put the old psc 1315 driver disc in.
Any thoughts?

When I try disabling colour management in the printer driver, it keeps turning back on

I'm using Lightroom v2.4 and a Canon Pixma Pro 9500 printer with the latest driver. I've just tried to print from Lightroom for the first time since moving to this latest version of Lightroom and when I go into print setup and turn off colour management, the driver doesn't keep the setting. Nor does it allow me to do borderless printing. My choice of print quality is also lost - this never used to be a problem.
This is very frustrating and means I must use Photoshop to print which takes longer when there is much to do. Please can someone offer some advice. I can print from Photoshop without this happening.

Have you tried creating Print templates in LR? Available from the left panel
in Print module. That's what I do to make sure the printer driver settings
stay the same.
Are you quite sure you have the latest 9500 driver?

I'm using Windows XP SP3, and I have just one button at the bottom left of the
Lightroom print diaglogue window called 'Page settings', when you click this,
you can select the printer and go into properties, which is where I normally
disable colour management. It is also refusing to print at standard quality,
but it defaulting to high quality (which takes a lot longer).
Thing is that I can print from Photoshop without problems and it's from
Photoshop where I do much of my printing, but printing from Lightroom is good
if I have a big load of prints to do as it's so much quicker to set up and it
has the picture package facility.

USB Printer Driver in OS X 10.2.8

I am going to set up a B&W G3 for someone this Thursday. She wants to use her old printer, but can't find the printer's driver CD. I know one of the great things about Mac OS X is that it has many USB printer drivers built right into the system, how can I tell if this driver is in there? The printer is a Compaq IJ600.

Looks like this is a Windows Only printer. I looked online and found no drivers. I hooked up the printer to the computer and no driver were available.
However, I was pleased to see how the Mac reacted, it told me that I had connected a ink-jet printer via USB, but no driver was available. A PC would have lost the driver even if I had installed one!

Epson Print Driver

Does anyone know where I can find the print driver for an EPSON Stylus NX420. I lost the disk and wanted to add the printer to my Macbook, but apparently they are no longer making this printer, so the driver cannot be found in System Preferences when I went to add the printer. Below is a screen shot of the error message I am receiving. Any help would be greatly appreciated it.

Konica Minolta Bizhub 250 printer driver on Leopard problems

I upgraded to Leopard and lost my printer drivers for both of my printers. I have been able to restore my HP7410 wireless via my airport at home. However, my office printer is a Konica Minolta Bizhub 250K also working through an airport extreme. My problem is that I have tried to download the driver for the Bizhub with the disc that came with the unit. After I go through the download process it says I've downloaded successfully but can not find it on my hard drive, even with MAC's support. I have searched the Konica Minolta support site only to find older versions of the driver. I finally got the (KONICAMINOLTA350105.pkg) to show up on my hard drive but when I open it it only takes me back through installing the (KONICA MINOLTA 350/250/200 Printer Driver Installer for Mac OS X (10.5)) process again without installing a driver.
Can anyone help?

Hello DG,
Mac OS X printer installers typically copy files to ./Library/Printers/vendor_name. If the driver is simply a PPD, then it will be copied to ./Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/ (note the leading period refers to your hard drive)
I downloaded the driver installer for 10.5 that you mentioned. It creates the folder KONICAMINOLTA under ./Library/Printers/ and has two subfilters, PDEs and filter. I then selected to add an IP printer with a dummy IP address and then searched for the 250 via the Print Using menu, by typing C250. The KONICA MINOLTA C250 PS(P) was then displayed, which I selected to Add.
Now, the issue for you will be how do you connect to this printer via Airport. If the printer is connected via the Ethernet port of the AEBS, then you should be able to add via IP and select either LPD or HP Jetdirect-Socket (which is aka Port 9100 RAW). After entering these details you can then browse for the C250.

Installation error printer driver download

I am a ,oyal HP fan for years....I am the orginal owner of the laser jet for about one year. Finally took the leap to a laser from ink... I can not find my original CD and paperwork. Am sending a screen shot of the isse? I get to about 75 % installed and I get this message. Been trying for a few days nows. Trying to reinstall drivers. I lost all drivers when trying to fix the scanner that stopped working. Now all is deleted. Need immediate help please. Please reinstate my confidence and value of these HP forums. I received a suggestion from an HP engineer, he suggested the following. Please post back here if temporarily removing the Universal Print Driver does (or does not) resolve the issue: Could we check and ask to uninstall UPD from the system and then try install the Printer. 1. From the Program and Features a. Go to Control Panel>Program and Features b. Look for "HP Universal Printing PCL5" or HP Universal Printing PCL6" c. Select and click uninstall. d. Restart the computer e. Install the HP Laser Printer f. Install UPD and UPD Printer if required. 2. From Print Server Properties in Devices and Printers or Printers (Vista) a. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers or Printers (Vista) b. Vista - Right Click in the Window in a blank space and click "Server Properties" Win 7 and above - Select any printer and look Bar below the Address Bar, click "Print Server Properties" c. Click Drivers Tab d. Click "Change Driver Settings" below the add button (skip if "Change Driver Settings" button is missing) e. Look for "HP Universal Printing PCL5" or HP Universal Printing PCL6" f. Select and click remove. g. Select "Remove Driver and Driver Package" and click OK. h. Restart the computer i. Install the HP Laser Printer j. Install UPD and UPD Printer if required.

Printer driver for workforce 645 was updated yesterday and printer no longer works, driver is no longer available from apple or epson.l

When i go to the epson website it says the printer driver is available from apple. When i go to the printer selection it sees the printer but says that apple has no drivers for this printer. In the updates section of the app store it shows that the printer driver was update yesterday.
