  • Lost purchased items when adding another apple tv to our network

We have had an apple tv working perfectly in a downstairs bedroom for about a year. I just bought another apple tv for our upstairs living room for xmas, and was told at the apple store that all i had to do to have them view videos from each other was to add them to our home network and sync it to our itunes on our home computer. i added the upstairs ATV to our network, and synced them both to my laptop, which i had never done for the downstairs ATV. now my downstairs ATV is completely empty, except for a couple of videos i had on our laptop. I can see all of our content that we had purchased for our downstairs ATV, over 100GB worth, on our iTunes but they're showing up in grey. i don't think they are sitting on our laptop or on the downstairs ATV. how do i recover those programs? they don't see to be available for re-downloading on iTunes. i'm bummed because we had a ton of programs on there. help!

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
There wasn't really anything wrong with the advice you were given from the store, unfortunately you chose to replace your primary library with the library on your laptop, whereas what you should have done is add it as a secondary library.
    (Please excuse my unsupported nomenclature)
I suspect if you remove the laptop library as a primary library and re-link your original library as a primary and then add the laptop as a secondary library, you will once again have access to your purchased content.

Additionally, may I suggest doing something about only having your purchased content on the tv, it's not a good idea and can easily be lost, you may want to let it transfer to your primary library.

  • Lost Purchased Item in Mac App Store

I have purchased Lion on my Mac app store and when I logged in again it was gone.
    Where cna I find it??
    Please help.

Lion is no longer sold openly in the MAS, it has been superceded by Mountain Lion, the most recent version of OS X. But if you have previously bought it, you should be able to download it by signing into your account and downloading it from the Purchases pane.

  • Hello  I have a new computer and have deleted an apple device and i want the purchased items Back  I have paid for them therefore I own them  Apple has no Right to steal from me.Please help.

Hello I Have over the Years spent hundreds of dollars with Apple.I have authorized computers and have removed computers and therefore have lost purchased items. How do I restore ALL of the Items that I Have Paid Good Money for? Also I inadvertently have removed devices from the cloud and now have lost more $ in purchased items. Please help  .Thankyou.

What you can redownload for free will show in the Purchased section : either click on the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage, or on the current version of iTunes you can click on your name towards the top right of the iTunes screen and then click Purchased on the popup :
If not everything shows there then check to see if you've hidden anything : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases - Apple Support
You can't redownload audiobooks or tones without repurchasing, they are one-off downloads. And if an item is no longer in the store, or if you've moved countries since buying them, then you will also not be able to redownload them, you will have to copy them from your backup of your downloads/library or over from another computer if you still have them on it - if you're not keeping and maintaining a backup of all of your downloads then you should be doing so (the store's terms advise you to do so)., you are only guaranteed one download of any item
Deauthorising a computer and/or removing a device from the Manage Devices section of your account does not delete any content from the computer or remove items from the cloud.

    Update to iTunes 10.3.1
After you have finished, you can re download your iTunes purchases without having to re purchase.
    iTunes 10.3.1
" Download Previous Purchases. Download your past music purchases again at no additional cost. Your purchases are available in the iTunes Store on your Mac or in the iTunes app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they are no longer on the iTunes Store."
"Available on iTunes in the U.S. and Canada only. Title availability is subject to change."

  • I changed my apple ID and lost everything. How do I get all my apps and purchased items back?

I changed my apple ID and lost everything. How do I get all my apps and purchased items back?

    Content and Apple IDs -
Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.
    As IO said before:
You can redownload most iTunes pruchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
I do not think it included audio books.

  • I used to have a large music library on I Tunes but I somehow overwrote it with the few purchased items that were on my I-pod so I have lost everything apart from these few.  Can I retrieve a previous library even if I've somehow lost it?

Does it matter if I am in manual managed mode or not? Currently I am not in manual mode but have switched back and forth numerous times. I think I'm screwed now because the last time I turned off manual mode and sync'd, I lost the TV video purchase I had made. Now, the only thing I see is in my Purchases, there is the show with an exclamation point. Won't apple let me download it again? What can I do, I really don't want to throw away the money I spent on this purchase just to to some user or technological error. Does itunes have acustomer support phone number?
    thanks

  • How do I remove iTunes without all my purchased items lost?

How do I remove iTunes without all my purchased items lost?

    iTunes stores you music in:
    Music\iTunes\iTunes Media...
This should not be affected by uninstalling iTunes.
It is always prudent to backup your valuable music.

  • Lost 4s in lake, not backed up. How do i retrieve purchased items?

I recently dropped my 4s in a lake (September 6th, 2014) and it is still down there somewhere. I didn't back it up or turn on icould before it was dropped. I know this was incredibly stupid. How can i at least retrieve my purchased music and apps that are not in my computer itunes library? I shouldn't need to re-purchase anything. I just got an old iPhone 5 from a friend that is restored and I need to put all of my old purchased and downloaded apps and music onto it; however, none of this exists in my computer iTunes library. My computer library differs completely from what was on my 4s and I don't care about what was on the computer, but I do want what I had on my 4s back on my new phone. I realize that pictures are for sure lost but that is okay. I just want back what I previously paid for. Please help and thanks for your concern!

You can do the same with music. If you want your iTunes Library on your computer updated with the purchased items, you can open iTunes, sign onto the iTunes store with the Apple ID you used to purchase the items, then click on the Music or Apps or TV Shows, etc. tab, and under Quick Links, select Purchased>Not in My Library.
You will see all of your purchases, under whichever category you have selected, and the ones that are not currently on the computer will have a little cloud next to them. Click on the cloud to download items selectively, or scroll to the bottom and click on Select All.
If you, instead, wish to download the purchases directly to your device, you can click on the iTunes icon, click on More>Purchased>Music>Not on this Phone, and then click on the individual artists, and then on the items you wish to download, or on Download All in the top right-hand corner.
If you elect to download the purchases (apps and music) to your device directly, then when you hook it up to the computer, make sure that under iTunes>Preferences>Devices, you have "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" checked. Then follow the instructions in this article to transfer any purchases you have downloaded to the device directly:
iTunes Store: Transfer purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer

  • Lost All Purchased Items From My Itunes

I have lost all of my purchased items from my itunes account is there anyway of retrieving them as my computer died and went to laptop heaven and lost all purchased items?

You could try to go to the Appstore on your iPhone, go to 'Updates', select 'Purchased'. IOS 5.0x is required.
This should show all your purchases and allows you to download them. Swipe on a program to delete it from the list if you don't want it listed anymore.
(assuming you're looking for apps, off course).

  • I have a windows pc.  How can I download purchased items which have become corrupted on my PC.  I can't use iCloud

I have a windows pc.  How can I download purchased items which have become corrupted on my PC.  I can't use iCloud without an Apple device.  I have gone into purchased but next to each title it merely says 'downloaded'.  I need to download them again.  It will cost a fortune to re-purchase the corrupted music!

I tried that but it just shows 'downloaded'.  There is no little cloud next to that wording.  On an Itunes help page it shows a 'library icon' once you have logged in but that does not appear on my version of ITunes which is 11.1.  I have lost so many peices of music!  Is this some ploy by Apple to get you to buy them all over again??  Thanks for you response, if you can think of anything else I would be most grateful
