I lost purchased music on my computer that was purchased in the last 4 to 5 months because of virus. I did not back up the few songs I purchased on cd. I also lost all data on my Ipod nano and had to restore it. How do I download these purchases I lost?

Go to the iTunes Store, log into your account, and click the Purchases link under the Quick Links. From there you should be able to re-download some or all of your purchased content. Note that not all content has been licensed for re-downloading in all countries at this time; you can see what content you can download here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085
You can also re-download content using an iOS device.
    For more information, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
This if course will not apply to songs you did not buy through the iTunes Store.
    Regards.

  • Purchased Songs on New computer

I have used iTunes on my iPod touch and my computer to purchase songs, but my computer has a virus and I have lost everything and now I am on a different one. I have downloaded iTunes to this computer, so is there any way that I can get the songs that I have already bought onto this computer?

You can use iTunes to copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
One more thing, if your iPod is set to sync automatically you need to take care connecting to a different and possibly empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows
Alternatively open iTunes first and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and check the box "Disable automatic syncing for iPhones and iPods" and choose Ok. Then connect your iPod.
If at any point you get a message that your iPod is linked to another library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.

i Tunes will not let me play purchased songs from a computer that is broken, and which has a previous e-mail address. I am at my wits end, as whenever I try to play the songs I receive a message to authorise the computer I am using with my dead e-mail address. I end up in a mess, changing I-Ds, etc. I have paid an IT company to sort  things out, with some success, but still I keep getting thiese messages. Surely iTunes should be less complex than this. I am not brilliant with IT, but not at all stupid. Any suggestions please?

    2. Reason : You have installed Desktop Manager using the 'Desktop Redirector' option.
Step 1: If you're not using Redirector, you should uninstall Desktop Manager and then reinstall it using the BlackBerry Internet Service option.
Step 2: On your device, go to: Options > Advanced > Service Book, and delete all service books for [Desktop]

  • Won't let me transfer purchased songs from one computer to another

The itunes wont let me transfer purchased songs from one computer to the other via home sharing even though both are authorised?

Burn that songs to a *DATA DVD/CD* using iTunes - then take the resulting disk to your desktop computer; that disk will show up in iTunes' left column; drag the songs into your library.

  • How do i transfer already purchased songs from my computer to my new iPhone

how do i transfer already purchased songs from my computer to my new iPhone

Connect the phone to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (if the left-hand sidebar isn't showing then control-S should get it to show) and then use the Music tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select the music that you want in the phone's Music app and and sync/apply that selection.
If you haven't synced the phone to that computer before then you might also find this page useful : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141

  • HT1391 Can I get to my purchased songs from another computer???

Can I get to my purchased songs from another computer????

As King Penguin alluded to earlier:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this). Movies currently available in the USA only. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • Upgrade iTunes, lost purchased songs

Recently, I upgraded iTunes (10.1.1.4). The first sync after upgrading, I was prompted to replace the library(?) on the phone. The old library(?) was backed up before the upgraded library was installed. But now, all my purchased songs are gone. I've searched my computer, but no luck. I've never lost files on my computer.
    -Could they be hidden?

Possibly, but an itunes update has never deleted my music or purchases, and it's not supposed to.
They might also be in the itunes library, but just not listed in the "Purchased" playlists.
Try this, get the copy of your itunes database file from before the upgrade. iTunes puts it in a folder named Previous iTunes Libraries. Follow these steps but in #7, copy & paste that file instead of dragging it.

  • Why can't I download purchased songs on new computer?

Okay so I'm having a slight issue. I just got a new MacBook Pro and I'm having issues. I am attempting to download my purchased songs. I am in iTunes and when I attempt to download it prompts me to enter my password. Upon doing this it starts to download then gives me an error message followed by prompting me once again to enter my password. I know this is not a wrong password for sure haha I've double and triple checked. I have tried restarting iTunes my computer an other restart based fixes. Just really unsure what is happening.

    Contact iTunes Support -> http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.
As I'm not sure why that would be happening...

  • Canceled AOL - lost purchased songs

I used my aol account credentials when I first started purchasing songs through the iTunes store. Eventually canceled the AOL account and established a new iTunes account. The songs I purchased through AOL are no longer accessible to me on my PC! Not authorized. My old AOL credentials no longer work because the AOL account does not exist. How can I gain access to the songs I paid for?

Connect the iPad to your iTunes library and choose File -> Transfer Purchases.  See this article for more information.

  • Purchased songs from one computer will not play on another computer???

I have downloaded my Itunes files to my work computer, but the songs I purchased on my home computer will not play on my work computer. I get a message saying that the work computer is not authorized to play those songs. When I log in, the message says the computer is authorized...but the songs will still not play. What gives??

    Hey there,
Are you using the same iTunes account from which the songs were purchased? If not, make sure you are signing into the same account and authorizing the computer under that account.
Also, I would try deauthorizing the computer and then reauthorizing it to see if that helps. Or you may try signing out of your iTunes account, quitting iTunes, and then reopening it and signing back in and then deauthorize and then reauthorize.

  • Downloading purchased songs on other computer

New iTunes user here, so forgive me if this question has an embarrassingly easy answer!
If I've purchased and downloaded a song on one computer, as I understand, I'm allowed to play that song on any other computer that I've authorized. But how do I get that song from one computer to another? It seems that I just can't download it directly from iTunes again. Please help, thanks!

Find the song that you downloaded (probably My music> itunes > itunes music > 'artist' > 'Album')
copy it to a USB stick or something
plug in USB stick on new computer
ensure that in iTunes prefs, under 'advanced' that 'Copy files to iTunes library...' is ticked.
Drag file from usb stick directly to the music icon on the left hand side, or select 'file > add to library' from the menu
Ensure that your iTunes is authorised... attempting to play the file should prompt you for this
You can only authorise 5 iTunes instances at any one time
    Regards
    Paul
