So I'm adding new songs to a very old playlist? Is there anyway that when I add them, they automatically go to top of playlist? How about getting one song to the top of a playlist.  That drag to arrange function is very annoying because it is slow and the playlist does not scroll up very well on a PC.

Make a new playlist by pressing the little plus button at the very lower left corner of iTunes. An new playlist will appear in the Source pane called "untitled playlist". While the name is highlighted, you can change it to whatever you want. Drag all of the tracks from all the albums that comprise a single book to that playlist. Sync that playlist to your iPod.

    1.  This forum is for troubleshooting Apple Software Update for Windows, a software package for Windows designed to update Apple products that run on Windows, and probably not related to your question in any way.
    2.  You lost recently added what?  your question makes no sense.

  • How do I delete the recently added songs "List is getting to large

I am unable to find ,how to delete the "RECENTLY Added" songs after having  moved them to the various ctegories I selected

The Recently Added playlists in iTunes is a Smart Playlist.  So in order to remove songs from this list you need to either wait until the song is no longer qualified to be listed in the Smart Playlist (more on that in a minute) or you need to adjust the rules out the Smart Playlist accordingly.
Either way though, this playlist hardly takes up any available hard drive space as it is just a list of pointers to your actual song files and not duplicate entries or anything of the sort that would be eating up significant amounts of drive space.
If you'd like, you can edit the rules out this Smart Playlist in iTunes to contain a smaller set of tracks or change the Date Added rule to only keep songs from a smaller time frame to help reduce the size of this playlist.  To do this, right->click on the Recently Added playlist and select Edit Smart Playlist. A new window show pop up.
In this window, you can the Date Added rule so that it contains tracks that were added in the past X (X being a number of your choice) number of days, weeks, or months.  You can also enable the Limit to X (X again being a number of your choice) rule to contain a smaller or larger number of items, GBs, MBs, hours, or minutes. To enable it, simply place a tick mark next to the rule.
When you are finished editing the playlist, click the OK button. If you did make any changes, the list should update dynamically immediately and will continue to do so as time goes on.

  • Album art and recently added songs not syncing to ipod.

They've synced before, but now when I've given album art to every song it doesn't sync. Nor have recently added songs. Nowhere to be seen on my ipod.
Then, on top of that, no matter how many times I've restored, authorized, and played around with my account, it randomly doesn't sync songs that I've bought from Itunes.
Help would be so, so much appreciated.

Are you syncing all music or selected playlists?

  • Syncing only recently added songs

Is there a way to sync my ipod and only add the newly downloaded song from my playlist, but keep the old songs on the ipod? When I tried to sync only "checked songs", they were the only ones on the ipod. All the song that were there were deleted.

I always have a backwards way to do things--someone else comes along with something much more efficient--but as long as your iPod is set up to be manually updated--I would just make a quick playlist of the recently added songs and drag it on top of the iPod. That way--everything else should stay intact and the new songs will get added. Beware, this is a playlist--so if you're searching by playlists or adding by playlists--make sure you've named this list something that you can easily identify!

  • IN THE MOBILE APP: RECENTLY ADDED SONGS SHOULD BE ABLE TO LAND AT THE TOP OF ANY PLAYLIST

IN THE MOBILE APP: RECENTLY ADDED SONGS SHOULD BE ABLE TO LAND AT THE TOP OF ANY PLAYLISTS BY DEFAULT IN SETTINGS. NOT ON THE BOTTOM AS ITS BEEN SINCE THE START IN 2008.
IT'S POSSIBLE TO DO SO ON A COMPUTER BUT I DOES NOT TRANCEND TO MOBILE DEVICES SUCH AS IPHONE. WHY???
IT BUGS ME EVERYTIME I'M FORCED TO SCROLL DOWN THROUGH 100s OF SONGS IN A PLAYLIST JUST TO PLAY THE MOST RECENTLY ADDED SONG IN THE SAME PLAYLIST.

  • Lost recently added folder

    Hi
somehow as MY nano has filled up, I lost a folder called recently added. How do I get it back?
Also If change the name of a file say track 1 and call it something else is the original named file kept?
    Thanks to all.

Have you lost the playlist from the Nano or from iTunes? In iTunes the default playlists are just Smart Playlists and you can recreate them. Go to File>New Smart Playlist
    Recently Added:
Match the rule "Date Added">"is in the last">"1">"Days" make the days and the interval to suit yourself, you can have days, weeks or months.
    Check the box "Live Updating"

  • Lost "Recently Added"

As the title suggests I seem to have lost the Recently Added playlist from iTunes. I deleted the contents but that seems to have taken out the list as well.
Any idea how I can get it back, please? I just need to be able to see anything I add in the future.
    Paul.

Just create a new Smart Playlist with the criteria of "date added" + "is in the last" and then however many days back you want it to look.

  • Lost recently added playlist

i lost my recently added playlist, does anyone know how to add it back to my smart playlist?

If you lost it on iTunes on a computer, choose New Smart Playlist from the File menu and create a new smart playlist which lists items added in the last 2 weeks, excludes podcasts, and is live updated.

  • Deleting "recently added" songs

I can't figure this one out. There is no option.
Also a question that's really bugging me. I accidently deleted the "My top songs" playlist and can't find it in the trash bin. Can I get it back and how?
When you pull up the contents of the trash bin it gives you the option of restoring " all files. You can't seem to just pick what you want. When you do pick 1 or more files it gives you no option to restore them, just move them around to who knows where. Pls help,, I'm new at this stuff.
    Thanks

Let me get this straight, you want to remove songs from "recently added" playlists?
you can just delete it by pressing the delete button. no problem.
regarding ur playlists, i would suggest looking up in ur iTunes folder (music/iTunes), look for a file with "library dated xx/xx/xxxx".. Try to remember during which date did you save the playlist in.. open it in iTunes and you should be able to see ur old playlists library.. it should restore your old library on that particular date.. give it a try..

--> just cut and paste items from recycle bin to ur desired location.. you don't have to press restore files....

  • Revert to itunes 10.7- recovering recently added songs/playlists

I reinstalled 10.7 and used the previous library as per the instructions here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4559563?start=15&tstart=0, and didn't have any trouble getting the old version to work...however, I lost all the songs and playlists that had been added after that library was created, which was several months ago.  Is there any way to get those back?  The songs can be manually added again, but it would be difficult because they're sorted  in the music folder and I don't know which were new since then.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks. This may work for the iPod and iPad although I'm not terribly interested in reorganizing all the apps and data on both devices unless absolutely necessary. Also, this does not address the problem of not being able to access the library over the LAN from other computers running iTunes.

  • How to find recently added songs in my library

I have added 3 CDs to my iTunes library on my computer. The music can be found in "Recently Added" Playlist, but NOT in my Library.  How do I make sure that the music makes its way to the Library. Also, even though I have iCloud activated I cannot find the music on my iPad.

Something has gone wrong with the index of the Music playlist. Download the current iTunes Free Single of the Week. I know it sounds odd, but it should fix the problem.
If that doesn't work close iTunes and delete the hidden file sentinel from inside the main iTunes folder, then start iTunes again. It should run a consistency check when it starts up.
