Lost Record Feature on Audigy

I've been doing some reel-to-reel conversions with my Audigy 2 ZS card through the Line 3 input. It's been working fine for months until I put in a new ATI Radeon 9550 video card. Now I can hear the input through Line 3, but it records silence and shows nothing on the meters. I can affect the volume with the break-out box but can't get it to show any input on the WaveStudio.
My guess is that the Radeon has changed the file associations but I can't find any specific one that has not been changed back by me to Windows Media Player. The video card replaced a previous ATI on the same AGP slot and I've not had any problems with anything else. Nothing under Device Manager shows a problem. Running the Creative diagnostics shows everything normal. Here are system specs:
MSI Motherboard
Intel 4.7 Processor
GB RAM
4 HD's totaling 500 MB
Win XP Home

It is the best board for Soundblaster card queries, but you have to remember this is a peer-to-peer board. It could be no one else has experienced a similar problem, or has anything to add that might help.
If you need Support from Creative directly, help is available through the Support channels (phone and e-mail).
Did you check the mixer to make sure nothing was adjusted there? Is everything still set correctly in Control Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices?

QuickTime version 10 can only record the entire screen.
10.1, 10.2 and 10.3 offer part of the screen recording.

Can i use the 'Record' feature in Applescript editor to automate bulk mail

Hi,
Is it possible to use the 'Record' feature of the Applescript editor to create a script that will automatically copy a website address into a new email message and then send that email message to everyone in my Friends category from the Address Book.
I want to do this because I want to alert my friends to changes on my website once a week, but I don't want to have to sit and type out the email and copy the website address and everything like that. So I was thinking I could do it with one click using Applescript.
Is that right and how dangerous is it. Like if i somehow manage to mess up the script can I just delete it and start again without causing any damage to my Mac

I want to do the following.
1: Open Mail
2: Create a new email message
3: Set the recipients from my contact group "Friends" so that everyone in my my 'Friends" contact group will receive the email
4: Set the subject as: "Check out these great new updates to my site"
4: Set the body of the mail message as follows:

Am I correct in thinking that I will need to use Automator and schedule the automation to run a script as per a weekly iCal event.
If this is correct, then how would I do that. Can I use the 'Record' feature of Automator and the Applescript Editor, to create the automation and the script. I am new to doing this kind of thing so I am unsure of the procedure for accomplishing the task I described above automatically.

Please fix the "Capture Recording" feature...

Here's how "Capture Recording" (a.k.a. "Retrospective Record" in other audio applications)
is supposed to work:
The song either is or isn't playing.
You play your instrument.
You liked what you did, even though you weren't recording.
You press the "Capture Recording" button.
Your software captured what you played, even though the song wasn't playing.
And that's why Retrospective Record was asked for, and implemented in the DAW's of the world.
But in Logic, if the song is not playing, and you play something you liked,
Capture Recording just puts every note onto Bar1, Beat1 of a new track.
And there's what you wanted to "capture", every note you played, sitting at Bar1, beat1, All at the same time. lol.
Now, I know that in this particular user group, there are many who love
to jump onto a fast response in defense of this application.
And that's ok, because I love this app also.
but the Capture Recording feature needs to be fixed.
Capture Recording (or "Retrospective Record" as Cubase calls it (they were first to implement it in 1995 btw))
works as described above in bold, it DOES make a very VERY big difference, believe it or not.

No, it has nothing to do with MIDI clock being enabled or not, it's the manner in which Logic's MIDI/Audio engine is implemented and can be traced way, way back. When Logic is not running, there is zero processing going on, this is part of Logic's intentional design and is one of the main reasons Logic is processor efficient, it also allows large instrument templates to be designed and loaded, if Logic's not running, no CPU is used. All other DAW's keep plugins partially active, you will always see CPU use. Early on when Mac's had limited graphics processing this was a big advantage, when Logic was stopped you had the full CPU to perform editing. This behavior was carried over as more powerful hardware was introduced.
The downside: Many of Logic's quirks can be traced to the fact that nothing is being processed when Logic is halted. The "System Overload" message, missed notes at the beginning of bar 1, not being able to play a song all the way through the first or second time it played. Say you have a region at bar 40 that uses a processor heavy instrument with a couple of Waves FX plugins... a second or two before bar 40 Logic starts to fill the FX and Instrument buffers with data as the plugins become active... "System Overload". I'm guessing Logic 10 will do what recent versions of Cubase has done, offer a preference that enables either type (active, inactive) processing.
If anyone wonders why some Cubase users get on Logic's case... it's pretty much payback as Logic users use to really slam Cubase as being unprofessional because it was pirated so much it had many, many users who were completely clueless musicians/producers.
The shoe is on the other foot now, a Mac is a dongle for Logic, while Apple would rather have your $199, they're not going to gripe at pirated versions as it will sell Mac hardware... and Apple makes their money with hardware, software is merely a support group for the hardware. As anyone on this forum can see, It's Logic collecting the clueless these days.

Why cant I use the screen record feature on quicktime 7.7.2

i have recently got apple QuickTime player 7.7.2 pro. One of the main reasons I got it is because i knew in past versions they had the screen record feature, but on the 7.7.2 pro version it didn't. i was disappointed that it didn't have the feature that the other versions had. before i got it i decided to update the version I had (The one with the screen record feature) and now i wish i didn't update it. I think the screen record feature was cool and i dont know why its gone. Also i am using windows.

QuickTime Player Pro has never included screen capturing features.
QuickTime X (found in Snow Leopard, Lion and Mountain Lion) does include screen capture features.

Video is synced from the computer to the iPhone via iTunes. You need to load the video into iTunes, make sure it is iPhone compatible before you do that, and once it is in iTunes, then sync to the iPhone.
Never said what computer OS you were using. Also, the computer processor, amount of RAM can make a difference with HD video.

Recording feature is not working

Hello all!
I have a problem with the LCCS session recording feature - it works but only sometimes (average - 1 time out of every 10 tries). I am using the latest version of the SDK - Version 2.2.0 (Nov 10, 2011). I also tried Player 10.1 and 10.3 client APIs.
I have a registered WebDAV repository with a Server API - AccountManager.RegisterRepository(...), I also checked to be sure this repository is registered with API method AccountManager.getRepositoryInfo() - all seems ok, the repository is registered and remembered by the LCCS server.
I then got a sample recording application which was provided with the SDK (com.adobe.lccs\sampleApps\Recording\Recording.mxml) and set my roomURL, userName and password - application seems to work as required. I click the Record button in my application to record, unclick the Record button, close the application, then wait for a long period of time but nothing is uploaded to the WebDAV storage in most cases ... only sometimes does it work and I have not found any pattern or logic difference when it works.
I also tried to start recording by server API - AccountManager.startRecording(...) - but it is also not working as expected. I reviewed the LCCS code and detected that this method should publish the item into the following collection and node:
RoomManager->roomState->recordingState. This method works ok, and the LCCS servers response is OK, but when I get room information with the server API AccountManager.getNodes(roomName, "/") I cannot find any information by returned XML.
By the way I checked the WebDAV server logs - there is only info about putting a file into storage by LCCS servers for success cases, not any error info about unsuccessfully putting files - so it would appear that LCCS did not even try to upload the files for the unsuccesful recording.
Any tips that you can think of which might explain what could be wrong here? It seems there is an error on the LCCS side - maybe they forgot to update their API/sample files to something that works?
I am losing my mind trying to solve this issue, please help me!

Thank you for your initial advices, but looks like they wil not help us to resolve issue. Let me explain my experiments more detailed:
1. Server API
It is what I am planning to use for implementing recording feature, and looks like it does not work at all by some reasons at LCCS side. I used C# version of API which is going with SDK - com.adobe.lccs\serverIntegration\csharp\LCCS.cs, and I used this method:
AccountManager.startRecording(string room, string archiveId, bool guestsAllowed)
with following parameters:
AccountManager.startRecording("ang12345", archiveID, true)
For archiveID I tied different values:
null
sv-1
sv-2
sv-...hh-mm-ss
Looks like that API not works properly, because I have not had success with staring recording from server side. I reviewed code of LCCS.cs file and found that startRecording method just publish specific item to room XML RoomManager->roomState->recordingState with value "{fullSession:true, archiveID:sv-1, guestsAllowed:True}". LCCS API returns OK on publish this item, but when I call server API method AccountManager.getNodes("ang12345", "/") - I can't find this item in room XML, although by my opinion it should exist here.
Unfortunately LCCS specification does not have any information about XML schema for rooms and about specific features like recording, so I can't check what is wrong here with server API. By my opinion there can be following errors with server API:
recordingState item can't be published to roomState node due to some reasons. Could you check it?
roomState node is wrong place for recordingState item. Can you check it with XML schema defenition?
item value have some problems. As I understand it uses JSON notation, but there may be following problems:
Name of archiveID is not quoted - see underlined.
Bool value for guestsAllowed is started from capital letter - see underlined.
2. Client API
I do not have plans to use client API, but I tried it too to understand what is changed in room XML, and to fix errors myself in code of library for server API.Unfortunately I also was not succeed here, because client API initiate recordings only sometimes and I do not know by which reasons, because I have not changed code at all except renaming archiveID. So I was not be able to check room XML to understand which item should be published to start recording.
For testing client API I used following names for archiveID:
not specified - for that case I have a lot of tries and once it was succeed - one recording was done, and record was uploaded to my server, so I had record ang12345/__defaultArchive, but I deleted it - by this reason now I have only one success record.
test-1 - no success
...etc(different names) - no success
cl-1 - this trying was succesfull (but I have not checked room XML at this moment )
cl-2 - no success
cl-3 - no success
cl-4 - no success
cl-5 - no success
cl-6 - no success
... etc
As you can understand I had a lot of tries with/without setting value for archiveID - but looks like that's not a reason of a problem. Also let me know please what you meant under recordingID -

PC suddenly lost my sound card (Audigy 2zs)

Yesterday, out of the blue, my PC was no longer able to play music. I was playing an album through mediamonkey?and suddenly it stopped. Took me some time to realize that my system no longer identified the sound card. I'm using an Audigy 2ZS and now not even the drivers appear on the system manager.
I tried a lot of things to no avail:
- Tried to reinstall the drivers: they won?t install because they can't find the hardware.
- Tried uninstalling everything (drivers, creative software, etc), still coudn't install the drivers.
- Changed card to a different slot, still system can't find it
- Tried to install an X-Fi that I also have (I still prefer the audigy) on both slots, no go, same problem, same steps as the above.
- Tried a system restore, no change.
I am now using my onboard sound but I would very much like to go back to my audigy. Here are my specs:
- Gigabyte GA-P3-S3G mobo
- Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 @ 2.53GHz
- 2 GB Ram
- Nvidea 8800 gt PCI-E ultra-edition (Gigabyte)
- Windows XP SP3
- PCI wireless network card (Blekin Rangebooster, can't remember the model)
As far as I know, nothing on my system has changed. It probably has nothing to do with that or else system restore would work.
In the past I had a similar problem, with a different machine not being able to see the sound card on a fresh XP install. I gave up then, but after a few days, all of the sudden, a message poped-up telling "new hardware detected". Only then was I able to install the complete software and driver pack.
So anyway, any ideas on this one? I would love to get my Audigy online again....

My PC sees no card at all and even reeboting with a diferent one on a diferent slot won't do the trick. I also don't think it has anything to do with any windows update or else system restore would take care of that (I restored it to 24h of the failling point).
I noticed one thing thouh, I still have some leftovers from creative stuff, so maybe that's what blocking basic xp drivers. But hunting everything down by hand is a b****, specialy going through the registries...
On your case, someone told me on some other forum that there is some kind of bug with newer drivers and SP3. If I were you I would try to unistall everything first, also the x-fi drivers. There is a diferent instalation menu within the installation package, directly on the xp drivers folder. After that try rebooting and if your PC sees the card, try installing trhough the original CD... Sorry if you already tried that but I ran out of ideas. Moved to my onboard card now.... ?

How to perform simultaneous multitrack recording with an Audigy 4 P

Dear Sir/Madam,
We are comming from the Uni'versity of Maribor, Slovenia. We recently buyed an Audigy 4 Pro Sound Blaster for our studio recording purposes. Here is the description of the problem:
We would like to record the speech database which will be used later to perform text to speech sinthesis (sampling rate of 96kHz, 24-bit resolution). Therefore, we need to SIMULTANEOUSLY record the stereo signals from 2 microphones located at different distances. That is, for each microphone we would have two channels which resulted in a requirement of recording 4 channels symultaneously!!!
We succeded to record the signals from either first or second microphone separately, but we couldn't record the stereo signals from the both microphones simultaneously!!! Namely, in the Creative mixer there is possible to select ONLY one recording input in a time. But we need to record the signal simultaneously from two inputs.
Our question are:
. How can we perform simultaneous, multitrack recording with an Audigy 4 Pro using two stereo inputs (e.g. from Line In and Line In 2 inputs)?
2. Which -from Creative recommended- recording software supports this multritrack recording? Namely, the recordings from the two microphones should be aligned in time as much as possible.

You need recording software (Cubasis (not sure), Cubase, Sonar, etc.) which supports
ASIO drivers and a 'multichannel' microphone pre-amp/mixer to get microphone(s) connected
'separately' into Audigy Input's.
ASIO driver gives more 'Input sources' to choose from compared to WDM's one stereo/2 mono
channel capability.

When I try to use the Video Record Feature. I'm using PowerPoint 2013 32 bit and Presenter 9 32 bit.

EMCC on recording feature

My customer will implement EMCC on CUCM clusters soon. I have a question about the EMCC with recording feature.
Assumption: EMCC is enable on all CUCM cluster.
1. User A (with EM profile A) login the phone A (with BIB feature) in CUCM A. One JTAPI account is created on CUCM A for recording feature.
2. Then User A login the phone B (with EM profile A) in CUCM B. How can User A able to record his voice stream to recording server via CUCM A as user A is using phone B.

Seem to have lost a feature.

Since the latest update it seems I have lost a feature. Well not completely lost it. But almost all of the emails I would get from all four of my accounts I could forward. Now I can't. Here's an example.
I would be able to receive from my home account to my phone but I could forawrd it using my personal account.
once you pressed forward you would pull down from the top of the email header and a drop down menu would appear and you can change it to whatever email provider you wanted to send it from.
Now since the newest update out of the last 100 emails. I can only do that to like 2. and some of the older emails still on my phone from before the update, they wont do it either when I know I have done it to them in the past.
Anyone else having this issue?

I also have 4 email accounts on my phone, I've always forwarded emails from the account it was received.
Tested on numerous emails without finding a dropdown list, then with 2 identical emails received 2 minutes apart to 2 of my email accounts, 1 shows the dropdown list and the other does not.

Quicktime's new screen recording feature

I need the Quicktime screen recording feature for a work project. My Macbook Pro (os 10.7) has it but the iMac at work (os 10.2) does not. It's not clear if Quicktime Pro for Mac does. I have already purchased Quicktime Pro for my work pc only to find that the feature is not available.
My question is, if I buy the os upgrade to 10.8 for the iMac, will this Quicktime feature work?

Switching from AM to PM or vice versa on manually recording feature

I was trying to record a morning show (AM) using the manual recording feature, but I was doing it in the evening (PM). I was able to enter the channel, choose the day then enter the start and stop times, EXCEPT for changing PM to AM. If you are setting up the schedule in the evening, that field always shows "PM" and there does not seem to be a way to change it to "AM". If you are setting up the recording in the morning, then that field shows "AM" and there does not seem to be a way to change it to "PM". Does anyone know how to change it from AM to PM or vice versa? I pressed every button on the remote and nothing worked.

After choosing your start time you should be able to click to the right to change from AM to PM or vice versa by using the up/down button. I just did it.
If your DVR is not cooperating, try rebooting it.
