Lost red

Yesterday screen lost red. All things pure red now are black so screen (Toshiba) now shows everything in shades of blue, yellow and some shades of green. The Toshiba flat screen has worked perfectly with the G5 1.8 Ghz Power PC for a year. TV picture has normal color. Connected a dell laptop through same cable and picture is normal. Happened all of a sudden and appears this way from a cold startup.
Guess is that part of the hardware died. Otherwise computer is running normal.
If you agree that it is a hardware problem. Is it the video/graphic card(I assume that is the same card whether you call it graphic or video) what replacement would you suggest?

If the same display connected to the Dell laptop using the same cable works properly, it is probably a problem with the NVIDIA card.
You can try turning off the computer and disconnecting it from power. Then, remove and reseat the video card.
Some display parameters are stored in PRAM, so you can try resetting PRAM

Lost Red Pigment Colour???

Hi,
I had been having problems with my tv/monitor (Hisense 19" LCD) then realised it was a bad connection with cord that was causing disturbance to screen.
While trying to work out the problem I performed a 'Factory Reset' through the TV settings while I was using the TV as my PC monitor. During the reset I saw my monitor screen adjust size.
After performing the factory reset my monitor appeared to have a green tint to the colour looking like a green filter had been put over it.
I tried the TV with my PS3 and colours were not affected with it or with normal TV function.
It appears the TV factory reset has affected my MSI NX 6200 TC graphics card as it is only the computer that has the problem.
I have also tried unistalling and reinstall the software and drivers for the card but it has not fixed the problem.
I have also discovered through using the Nvidia software setup that wduring the step 'Adjusting Gamma' the RED colour adjustment bar is black (should be red) , but the blue and green show as the correct colour. This explains why the screen looks green as the RED colour is missing.
HAVE I COOKED MY GRAPHICS CARD or MOTHERBOARD???
Is there anyway to fix or reset the graphics card so the red pigment can be restored.

Mac Mail lost red notification icon

For some reason the little red icon has gone from my dock when new mail arrives. However, if i turn off the rule that moves incoming mail to a mailbox it works. It's only when the rule is turned on it doesn't, problem being i've had the rule for a year and not changed it yet now this problem. All the rule does is move incoming mail into a seperate mailbox. Any ideas it's driving me nuts!

Tried both suggestions, it only stopped working 48 hours ago yet i'd not upgraded or changed anything. However, what i did do was to back up my messages and delete the preferences apple.com.mail thing or whatever it was called, and the mail folder and started again. Re-installed the rules and now works again. So thanks for advice, was appreciated

After re-installing my MacBook Pro hard drive, I lost my Firefox/Mozilla 'top banner' (red ,yellow and orange in color) and with it my ability to down load via a small tab located top right on it's bar. How do I get this function back??

Recently I found it necessary to re-install my entire operating system, and I lost my ability to down load streaming videos. I am an artist almost 70 yrs. old, and am not very computer proficient which is why I purchased a MacBook Pro. I used Firefox/Mozilla to do downloading because it was easy. When I brought my system back up I found that the top 'Firefox banner' had changed from red, orange and yellow in color to shades of gray. With this change found that I no longer had the download 'tab' to click on to initiate downloads (located top right on the Firefox top section).
I've tried re-installing Firefox and Antbar download helper but am still not able to download. How do I get the download capability back again???? ......roxor999

Your storage device is probably faulty. It would be helpful if you indicated the EXACT model/year MBP that you have.

You may have to try a general OS X troubleshooting process to see if the issue goes away by doing this...
Have you tried: starting the computer in SafeBoot mode, with shift key held down; a login screen should appear after a time, and then the regular desktop. At this point, locate Disk Utility in utilities folder, and run 'repair disk permissions' on the startup volume, usually the name given the hard disk drive as it appears on desktop. After Disk Utility is finished the permissions repair, restart the computer normally.

There is an iTunes area in Apple Support Community discussions for more topics like this; except for when they involve a hardware product where an OS X is involved. If your computer is NOT a powerPC (an 'intel'-mac) the topic would more naturally need to be posted where that hardware and later supported OS X version topics get seen. So that is why one asks 'on what Mac running what version...' instead of writing four paragraphs in a wide angle reply. The details about your iMac and the OS X say more; without them, more questions arise.

sounds like you are in full screen mode for that app. you will not see the red yellow grn.
exit full screen Upper right corner, click the double arrows
or in the drop down menu>View exit full screen

Has Safari taken up the entire screen? If so, then that's 'Full Screen Mode', which you can toggle on or off with Control+Command+F.

I suspect you have turned on the Full Screen mode. Move your mouse to the top of the screen, click the View menu and choose Exit Full Screen.

Quit Safari.
Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key to choose "Library".
Then go to Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist and drag that file to the Desktop.
Launch Safari and test.

Lost Spell Check in 7. No continuous red lines.

I have found that we have lost the red underlining of a misspelled word, instead it disappears if you continue writing a sentence. Also, if you are typing out an email in applications such as Google Mail, the underline will not reappear if you save it as a draft than return to it. This is an issue I have because I prefer to spell things correctly and would like to have my phone be able to correct large words. But I could write a sentence quickly like:
The quick bronw fox jumped over the lazy dog.
And if it didn't auto correct the word 'brown' it would not stay underlined as an indication of misspelling.
Is this something that needs to be changed within the settings of my iPhone and iPad because I read other questions about this and they all seem to be for computers because I can't find any ways around it.
Or if this is an error please fix this so it stays underlined and works in all apps accessable through the phone like you had before you updated everything.

This is in reference to iPhone 4S and iPad 2 with the new iOS 7.0.2 update.

Right-click on a toolbar, then click on the "Menu Bar" entry to de-select it. That will hide the menu bar and bring back the Firefox button.

Did you transfer the backup for your 3GS to your iPhone 4S?
Try a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.
If no change after a reset and you transferred the backup for your 3GS to your 4S, try restoring your 4S with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from a backup to see if this makes any difference.

Try closing the Settings 'app' via the taskbar and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Settings app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Settings app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.
If you have made changes to Advanced font settings like increasing the minimum/default font size then try the default minimum setting "none" and the default font size 16 in case the current setting is causing problems.
