i lost my ring sound and i have no sound when i try to play down loaded songs help !curve 8500

No you cannot accomplish what you want unless you
manually manage your tracks. If you on auto sync,
there would be no reason to have to select tracks.
Yes there is a need. If I bring my IPOD to work, and want to play some music, i need to select the track on my ipod as this is where the music is.
My Library at work has no music on it.

Lost original file and cant play song

Hi - Hoping someone can help us out. We got a new computer about two years ago and recently realised that we are unable to play old songs which we had uploaded from various CDs and other media into our itunes library. When clicking on the song it brings up a popup saying that the original file could not be located. I have tried to find it through Windows Explorer but it still isnt working.

First, make sure the headphones plug is completely pushed into the headphones jack. Because the jack serves multiple functions, the fit may be tighter than expected (especially if you have the Apple EarPods).
Also, try using the headphones with another device, to rule out bad headphones. Or try another set of (known working) headphones with the shuffle.
Are you using older headphones that have remote control buttons? Not the latest EarPods and not the immediately previous version of white Apple earbuds. Or non-Apple headphones with remote control buttons. It's possible they are not compatible and interfering with the shuffle's operation. Any standard headphones (with no buttons) should work.
If that does not help, you can try doing a Restore on the shuffle in iTunes. The Restore button is on the shuffle's Summary screen in iTunes. This will erase the shuffle, reinstall its software, and set it to defaut settings. If a software (or settings) problem on the shuffle is the cause, the Restore should fix it.
Otherwise, if the Restore does not help, it may be a hardware problem. If it has been less than one year since purchase, it is under warranty.

Cant play song and video

I cant play song or view photo on my treo UNlocked GSM.whenI click on Card icon it provides
me card information like how much in used and empty.when i go to realplayer and click song
it says insert card.I took out card several time and still it says same.
Please help me as I am new to this phone.

After my computer crashed i install new system and itunes. When i connected an iphone, i cant play songs on it. Somebody told me, when i start any sync i will lost all my songs.I would like to keep it or i will loose them.And as well how can i get back all my app what wasnt on my iphone installed?

hard drives will always crash, and you should ALWAYS keep a backup. it's surprising how many people still don't know this little fact about computers, and then they do nothing by cry when all of their data is gone.
let this be a lesson from here on out - ALWAYS KEEP A BACKUP OF YOUR DATA. the easiest way is to use an external hard drive.
there are apps that will allow you to get your music off of the iPhone, but they are not supported by apple.
and just because you think it's stupid does not mean it is done to annoy you. it was most likely done as an agreement with the music industry, but since no one here officially works at apple, we don't know the actual reasons.
also, you can "repurchase" the apps you have for free. you will be asked if you want to redownload the app. (i've done this.)
music (from what i understand) that was purchased on the iPhone but not yet synced can be synced without deleting it off of the iPhone, but this can only be done once (i think).

I'm not sure if that would work, but just give it a shot.
Don't only hold the home button and the wake/sleep button down till it resets,
try holding it down for about 30-40 seconds.
This time it should not just reset. You just have to make sure it's long enough. You will see ;-)
But then, you will have to put everything back on it again.
Better than having no access, I guess ;-)

If your harddrive ever crashes again, and you connect your iPod to that empty iTunes library, or your PC crashes and your iPod starts acting up you will be screwed if you don't have a backup

Connected to iTunes and lost all music and random new songs were added but I can't delete them

I connected my iPod into Itunes (Windows not Mac) and for some reason all my music were deleted. I synched my music again and the default songs that are aready on iTunes were added in my iPod. I can't even delete the default songs now.. Help...

If copying the files took a suspiciously shoort time, are you sure that they were copied?
If you do not have "Copy to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" checked in Edit>>Preferences>>Advanced>>General, then files are left where they are and their loaction is stored in the library.
If this is what happened, your music would play when the external drive is plugged in, but not when it isn't.
If you find this is what happened, you can simply consolidate your library when the external drive is plugged in. (Advanced menu).
This copies files that are not in the iTunes Music folder into it.

There may be a couple of things that are affecting the sound on your iPad. It sounds like you have already tried restarting and resetting which are good general troubleshooting steps. I suggest first checking in Settings > Sounds and making sure all sounds are turned on. The following article describes these steps.

If the sound settings are correct and you still have no sound, the next thing I would check would be the side switch. The side switch can either be set to lock the rotation of the iPad or mute the sounds. If the side switch is set to Mute, make sure it is toggled to allow sound. If the side switch is set to Lock Rotation, you will need to open the iPad Control Center to make sure sounds are not muted. The following article explains these functions.

i got a new 2nd gen iPod touch 32GB and it shows the wrong cover art and wont play all my songs. what should i do? i tried taking them off the ipod and putting them back but that didnt help. and none of the apps work. it always goes to the home screen

app crashing, is a fairly common problem. there are two solutions i know of:
1. download a new app. for some reason (seems completely illogical to me) this can fix it.
2. reset the ipod (hold down the home and power buttons until you see the silver apple)
