Lost Sent Items and Drafts

I upgraded someone's iPhone 4 to iOS 5 this morning and then set up iCloud. Before there was only one email account, but it was expanded to two when a new me.com account was added during the iCloud setup process.
The user's Sent Items and Drafts were lost.
Is there any way to retrieve these items from the last backup without having to restore the entire iPhone from the backup that included the lost items?

I can't imagine what's happening there, but it might help to run Clear-ActiveSyncDevice, and then configure it again. Unless you already tried it? I know there's not going to be much on the device that needs clearing, but it might reset some flags at the
server end.

But it doesn't go off. I keep seeing the small white 'turning wheel' untill the battery is gone. After that, it works again (and so does the e-mail). This happens about every week. What can I do?

Anyway, as I mentioned, I don't use any sync-able email, just a very plain-jane POP email provider. iSync reports no devices and has nothing in its log, which matches my never having installed anything in need of syncing.
The thing is, if Mail says its sending something when nothing was ever sent, that's a largish bug whether it is actually sending something or isn't, and there isn't really enough info here to know which of those are the case. Maybe Mail just displays "Sending" because an attempt to do something reasonable is timing out, maybe it does an innocuous and normal POP thing using very confusing nomenclature, or maybe it's really trying to send something which has a wrong flag or something. There isn't really enough info to know what is going on, so I was hoping someone could identify the symptoms.

Why doesn't Thuderbird IMAP my BT account in the inbox? It maps sent items and draft, but gets stuck 'thinking' about the inbox.

I have just migrated to a new laptop and have set up Thunderbird with various work and personal accounts. All the gmail accounts work fine, but the I am experiencing some problems with my btinternet account.
1. When it sends an email if gets stuck at the end of sending and when I cancel it it says that the email could not be saved to the sent folder. Yet when I look at the sent folder it is there and when I check people have received what has been sent.
2. When I click on the inbox folder it starts thinking, but will not show any of the emails that are in the BT email inbox.
I have set up all the accounts I'm asking Thuderbird to manage as IMAP accounts.
Any help i sorting this would be gratefully received :-)

Using POP email; the Sent items and Drafts folders disappeared; none of related replies to similar problems helped

Problem appeared after a new Thunderbird installation that followed a wipe-out bare-metal "recovery" of Windows 7 to a new disk drive. Previous user and registry files are available on a secondary disk drive if they can be used to solve this problem. I was not able to import email accounts from the secondary disk drive.

To get old mail account info into a new Profile which has no mail accounts or not downloaded any emails;
Locate the Profile folder:
On Windows system usually located here:
C:\Users\Windows user name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\Profile name\
The AppData folder is folder is a hidden folder; to show hidden folders, open a Windows Explorer window and choose "Organize → Folder and Search Options → Folder Options → View (tab) → Show hidden files and folders".
You can locate your current profile folder:
Help > Troubleshooting Information
click on 'Show Folder button
a new window opens showing your Profile Folder.
You must close Thunderbird now - before making any changes.
Transfering data to a new Profile:

Please note that you need to copy paste the 'Contents' of the Profile folder name, it usually is called xxxxxxxx.default (where the x's are letters and numbers) - not the actual Profile folder name.
Put into the new Profile folder name overwriting the files.

If you have already set up mail account and downloaded some emails then you may not want to over write the whole profile.
But you may want to import some folders with emails from old profile.
Download ImportExporttools addon.

How to install:
Tools > Addons OR Menu Icons > Addons
Click on gear wheel icon and select 'Install addon from file'
locate the .xpi file you downloaded and click on Open.
You may need to restart Thunderbird.
Then you can import the mbox files. these are the files that contain the emails.
Right click on mail account name and select 'ImportExportools' > Import mbox file

Site mailbox no sent items or draft folder

I have created a site mailbox on one of my SharePoint sites and added my self into SharePoint site owner group. The site mailbox is showing up in my outlook (2013) but no sent items or draft items folder? I have also checked OWA and no sent items or
draft items folder aswell?

Have you tried to delete a message from the Inbox by clicking the Delete in the toolbar? or have you created a Draft by trying to compose a new email?

Outlook sent messages not in Sent Items, and not delivered, they disappear

Some of our users are experiencing this
They compose a message and click SEND.
A few hours later they hear from the intended recipient no message was ever received.
The sender checks his/her Sent Items and sees no record of the message.
I check Exchange (2007) Tracker logs and see no record of the message.
It's as if messages disappear into thin air.
I know this is true for internal email, but i do not recall instances for external email.
Clients are mostly Outlook 2013, with only a few 2007 and 2010. We are in the process of upgrading everyone to 2013.

Have you personally verified that this happens with your own two eyes? I would hope that you're not posting here based on what a user has told you.

IMAP Email: Sent, Trash, and Draft folder behavior

I just did a fresh install of Snow Leopard where I'm unable to configure or sync the Sent, Trash, and Draft Folders in their specific top level sections. Although, I was able to successfully configure them in this way before I reinstalled Snow Leopard (currently running 10.6.6).
I had 3 IMAP accounts within three top level folder sections called Inbox (3 accounts), Sent (3 accounts), Draft (3 accounts), and Trash (3 accounts) where all email was stored/synced on the IMAP server hosted by my webhost.
After reinstalling Snow Leopard, I configured each account the same exact way where the Inbox folder was configured just fine on the top level but now the Sent, Draft, and Trash folders have now moved to the lower level "On My Mac" section where specific sections were created for each account (Example: (Account 1 - Sent, Draft, Trash). Although, I do see a Sent section in the top level with nothing in it.
When configuring the email, I selected to store sent email, drafts, and trash on the server. Path is currently set to INBOX. I really do not understand why Mail is creating separate lower level "On My Mac" sections and placing the Sent, Draft, and Trash folders in there.
I greatly appreciate any help or tips I can try to set my IMAP email the way I had it before.

Select the 'Sent' mailbox in the lower section, choose menu 'Mailbox' > 'Use this Mailbox for' > 'Sent'.
Repeat the procedure for the other mailboxes (drafts, junk, trash).

What probably happened: You clicked an old iPhoto library in your Pictures folder. This caused two things to happen:
Since the library was old, it needed upgrading and iPhoto upgraded the library
The upgraded library is now your current library, until you select a different library.
Try this (assuming you are using iPhoto '11):
If iPhoto is running,use the command "File > Switch to Library" from the File menu.
Select your previous iPhoto library from the library Chooser panel to switch back to that library.
If iPhoto is not open, hold down the alt/option key while launching iPhoto to show the Library Chooser panel.

Has anyone figured out a one email scenerio yet? Can't find the sent? Also Have numerical red circle indicating emails waiting but when open the app and after waiting for it to update still no new emails??

All of my sent items are flagged as 'junk'. I've reviewed the settings and can't see what I'm doing wrong. Any help here?

Hi Robert, and a warm welcome to the forums!
First I'd backup your whole Mail folder, by right clicking on it, then choose Archive.
Try dragging this file to the desktop in case we need to put it back later, then logout/in...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Couple more things to try...
Quit Mail, then In your home folder, try moving these folders to the Desktop then reboot...

Strange Mail Box behaviors Sent Mail and Drafts ...

Hi,
When i make a new mail, it always get saved in the drafts folder, also when i sent it within a couple of minutes.
Not saving mails as draft.
All mails we sent are coming in the sent mailbox as Unread .. ?
Recieving and sending mails is working normal.
Any idea to how to solv this. I didn't updated to 10.6.3 yet, will do that next week.

I have trashed the mail account (having firts deleted the emial at the email provider) and re- entered it.

Sent emails and draft folder

Sent emails are being saved in my draft folder.
Everytime i send an email, the same is being saved in the draft folder.

I have about one or two drafts per month that are "stuck" in the folder and must be deleted manually, and I'm on 10Mbit/s and pretty stable, but the mail server is playing its own role as well. Sometimes it just happens.
BTW, under Mailbox Behaviors in the account's preferences in Mail, make sure that "Store draft messages on the server" is unchecked. It seems to me that when it's enabled, the "delete" command in case of a new draft version or once sent makes it even less often through, eventually leading to a few more drafts remaining there - at least with my server. Could be just my "notion" but if it's okay with you to have drafts only locally and not e.g. synced with other devices or "backed up" on the server, then it won't hurt.

Hmm I Assume this is an IMAP account.
Right click the account in the folder tree.
Select subscribe
In the list is there a send folder? Make sure it is subscribed
right click the folder again and select account settings. Under copies and folders is the "correct" sent folder selected.
Note that spelling differences or modified names can cause issues for IMAP, requiring manual correction to align things. Things like Thunderbird having a junk folder and the server having spam. Trash Vs Deleted items etc.

Moving Itunes to new PC - lost ticked items and playlists

Hi all,
I recently moved Itunes to a new PC. To do this I copied the "Itunes" folder across from the old PC to the new one.
I usually sync the iphone with Itunes, but on the new PC it has not remembered which of my 2000 songs I had ticked to sync. In addition all my playlists have gone.
Is this information stored in the itunes folder ? Is it posssible to transfer playlists or sync ticks ?

Yes, if you copied the entire itunes folder from the old PC, it has your previous itunes database
iTunesLibrary.itl is the file name.
Close itunes and restart it by pressing *and holding* the shift key. CHoose that itl file from the old PC when prompted.
