The settings are stored in the Windows Credential Manager. On Windows 7, you should be able to type "Credential" in the Start menu search box and find it. Look for credentials with "Novell.Collaboration.Vibe" in the name.
We're about to release an update to the Add-in, but unfortunately we didn't discover this issue in time to include a fix. The only workaround right now is to set up your Vibe accounts in the MS Office add-in, then configure Vibe Desktop and don't modify the Vibe account in the Add-in.

  • Wrt54g lost settings and wireless not detected

    Hello,
I recently had a problem with my wrt54g so i popped in the installation cd and went through the basic setup again.  Now my wired desktop works perfectly but none of my wireless devices are finding the router.  I also went into the config webpage and noticed all my settings had been reset.  All my port forwarding for the PS3 and XBox 360 had disappeared!!!  I couldn't believe it since it took me forever to get the initial settings to work right.
Now my laptop, ps3, xbox360 all cannot detect the the router.  However, the wired desktop pc works fine.  Is there any way to recover lost settings and how do I get the router to be detected by my wireless devices?

I think your router got resetted and that is why you lost all the settings on the router...Change the wireless settings on the router(ssid , channel , wep)...Click here to change the Wireless Settings on the router...Also check the related articles in the given link...

  • Lost settings and WEP vs WPA2

My WRT310n lost all its settings. A Linksys tech walked me through setting it up again... took 50 minutes via phone. I was thrilled to daeth and happy with the results. However, being a total novice to wireless routers, that begs 2 questions....
    1. Could I have inserted the DVD that came with the router and configured it again like I did when I first bought it... thus avoiding a 50 mintue call?
    2. The tech had me set it up with WEP security. I had read that WPA2 was the strongest security and used it when I first bought the router. The tech said they were equal and that WEP is better with a system running windows XP. I'm nervous about having WEP. Should I be?
Lastly, a comment....  I searched the Linksys sight for 20+ minutes trying to find how to reconfiguremy router... all to no avail... thus necessitating the call to tech... quite disappointing.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide to my rookie questions!!!
    Jim

The tech told you that WEP is equal to WPA2???
WEP is a real basic security. Better than nothing, but not much better. WPA2 is about as good as you'll get at the moment for household use.

  • Lost settings icon on upgrade

I lost my settings icon when I upgraded my new I phone 4. I was not at home, I did not back up on my computer. I do not have any search options. I have checked every folder multiple times, it no longer exists. Is there somewhere online I can reinstall?

    Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

  • Lost settings and preferences on startup

I had a very unusual problem this AM. On computer start up all my FF settings, preferences, tool bar settings, homepage were lost and FF reverted back to it's default settings. My bookmarks were still there. I've never seen that before. I did a system restart and still the same thing. So I had to reset all the settings and preferences. Nothing odd with my IE9 browser. I did a security sweep and everything was normal. Anybody seen this before?

Hey there, do you also still have your history, cookies and passwords intact? If yes, this sounds like someone activated Firefox Reset on that computer. In any case, you should be able to find your old profile on your computer still as Firefox reset just creates a copy and leaves the old profile as it is. You can use this article to locate your profile, and it also links to the profile manager to switch profiles: [[Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data]]

  • How to recover lost settings after phone reset?

I have a Nokia E63. My little brother has accidental reset the phone. I have lost all my previous settings, contacts and messages. How do I get back my old settings, contacts and messages?
I do not have a back up.
    Please let me know
    Thanks :-)

Unless you've taken a back-up of phone there is no way you can get it.

  • Lost settings and non responding apps.

Basically I would reboot my MBP. Once the machine is back up and running some settings would be lost such as my magic mouse and track pad settings. This is not what concerns me most - its the fact that some apps just stopped working. For instance I would try to open sublime text only to find the icon bouncing in the dock but not actually opening. Some apps (such as those developed by Apple) work just fine.
I had a look via Console to see what error messages are being logged but there are none. I'm also having a hard time finding any information on the issue since its pretty difficult to describe.
This is incredibly annoying since previously the only solution would have been to reload Yosemite.
Anyone else know anything about this?

Those apps probably cannot be "wiped out" since they are built into the phone.
Try a reset of the phone: Hold the button on top and the Home button together.
Also look and see if your icons have moved to a different screen.

  • Lost settings and import tab on with itunes 10

We've lost the settings and import tabs that are supposed to be at the lower right in itunes.  Any idea how to get them back.  And/or how else to import music from an old computer to a new one using home sharing.

You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.

  • Lost settings, library and podcasts

Today my iTunes has lost all its settings. It's showing an empty Music Library (all the tracks are safe and sound on the NAS, just not showing in iTunes), no playlists and, most annoyingly, no podcasts - neither subscriptions nor past episodes waiting to be listened to.
This is iTunes 7.0.2.16 on XP Pro. It was running fine yesterday morning.
Anyone seen this before and know an easy way back? Obviously I can reimport the Music Library from the folders on the NAS, but rebuilding the playlists and the podcast subscriptions will be a PitA. Is there a set of files I can restore from a recent backup to get back where I was?
    Thanks in advance, guys ...
    Nick

OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on. Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially. Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do. Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
It also sounds like you have renamed your home account. Change it back.

  • Have lost settings and data

Hi, i've got a refurbished G4 running OS x.4.10 and until recently it's been working fine but i logged on the other night to find that the desktop had reverted to default settings, iphoto had started from scratch (and lost all my photos) - the same with mail (lost all emails and settings), address book, stickies and other dashboard items including previously downloaded stuff - not good.
Fortunately i backup everything so i've not lost much but i'd like to know what has happened and how i can get the lost data back without having to upload it all again from my external drive (which could take hours).
As far as i know, i've not done anything unusual to cause this to happen - the previous days work involved downloading a couple of files from apple.com and changing some settings for address book - other than that i was just typing a word document and sending e-mails.
If anyone can help by suggesting what went wrong and how to avoid it again i would be very grateful, also - can i get my settings and data back without having to upload it file by file (i don't think my sanity could cope with that).
    Adam.

    Hi Adam,
If the Netinfo database becomes corrupt your account files can become "lost". They can be recovered if you have a recent backup of the database. It's backed up when the cron jobs run (when the computer is on over night or manually via Terminal or a maintenance application). The following article explains how to do it.

  • Lost settings and content

I recently had to send my macbook away with an apperently loose logic board, but when it returned I'd lost all my iweb settings and content, I now don't seem to be able to do anything with it.
I have a feeling I may have to reinstall Life, but will that mean the other applications will change?
Also when I start up instead of the apple logo I get a file icon with a question mark in the middle. Can anyone help or is it Applecare issue?

    SERIOUS PROBLEM!!!!!
get this file using the spotlight and BACKUP it. if its not there - youre website is gone, FOREVER!!!!! :-(: Domain.sites
get your itunes library, photos and whatever other files you need and then re-install everything using the DVD that got shipped with your macbook!

  • 2.1 update alert: lost settings

I updated my 1st gen 8GB iPhone last night from firmware 1.1.4 to 2.1
After the upgrade, I lost the last 3 months worth of added contacts, safari and Maps bookmarks, txt messages, calendar events, and notes. For some reason, the backup of all my current settings failed and it reverted to one that was 3 months old.
I post this first as a warning to others to manually back up everything prior to upgrading (including saving all settings in other formats like contacts in an exported file). Second, I was wondering if anyone knows if all this data is lost forever, or if there is a hidden backup folder somewhere where I can restore the settings I had yesterday?

There are some different ways of going about this update business.
One guy recommended down loading the update first; click on download but do not install. Once you have it then install it. I recommend this approach rather than the down load and install option.
He recommended then to remove all the music and other files by deselecting them in sync or some such before installing update. (It has been a while since I did the first upgrade so I forget how to describe it) I do not recommend doing this because that was how I lost some of my settings. Thank goodness I did not lose my note pad notes.

  • IPhone 4S - upgraded to 5.0.1 and lost settings options

    Hi all,
I bought my first iPhone a couple weeks ago, an iPhone 4s with iOS 5.0.  After I activated it, I went through all the settings and option like any guy with a new toy.  I remember specifically that I was able to choose in Settings a) if, during a phone call, the phone would alert me to a new email or SMS with the tone I chose/vibrate, and b) if/when a reminder alert would happen after receiveing an email or SMS - I think the choices were 1/2/5/10/15 minutes.  I set these options as I wanted them - alert during a call and a 2 minute reminder.
Within a week or so, I noticed I was having battery issues like a lot of other people and saw that Apple release 5.0.1.  So I upgraded the software.  All went well as far as I could tell.  Unfortunately, this didn't solve the battery issues but actually caused some other issues.  Now, the settings for the two items I mentioned above are gone.  They are not in Settings at all and I really want to change them.  I've searched online and every page I find for the repeat alert tells me to go in to an area of Settings that doesn't exist any more in my phone.  So I thought, "OK I'll just downgrade back to 5.0 and that'll fix that."  But research here and on the 'Net says that I can't do that.
So I feel like I'm stuck.  I'm locked out (of sorts) of two options I really want to adjust in Settings and I didn't get a resolution for the battery drain.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  It's pretty disappointing; I like the phone, but I would love it if I could resolve this.
    Thanks
    J.Bourne

I'll go backwards with my response.
Having restored my phone and reset all settings, operated phone as a new phone, didn't sync anything back onto it, etc., I installed only Tune in radion and it didn't play. I wiggled the dock cable about -the volume indicator kept changing and for a brief moment sound played. But, not for long.
I am thinking that there's something wrong with the dock connector.
    Previously I had:
Checked all settings, plus switched off Bluetooth - didn't work.
cleaned headphone socket and switch on side which mutes sound - didn't work.
Restored the phone, without restoring any of my backed up data. Tested phone as a new phone - didn't work. Tried:
voice memo - this was fine
changing ring tones - this was fine
playing a song from iTunes store - not ok.
As a New Phone, installed one App - Tune In Radio - no sound. Get speaker icon at bottom, but no indication of its setting. When I click on sound mute on/off switch at side of phone, above volume controls, I see volume level, but can't control it.
Reset all settings, so had to switch of bluetooth again and re-enter WIFI. No affect on sound.
I've tried the above with and without headphones.
So, after much time wasting, my Music App and Tune in radio apps don't work, but ringtones and voice memo works.

  • Lost settings icon

Somehow I inadvertantly deleted my iphone settings icon. I had hoped that it might be restored when I installed the new ios update. But alas, no. Any suggestions for how to restore? Thanks!

If you have iOS 8 or iOS 8.1.1 you can use Spotlight Search to use the Settings app.
Slide you finger fast down the screen after the device is unlocked.
Spotlight Search should come up, Search " Settings"
Settings App should appear. Click on Settings App then navigate to General> Reset> Reset Home Screen Layout
