Lost songs in song view
Hi.
I've been transferring my whole music collection (CDs and vinyl) to iTunes.
I've used the iTunes ripper for the CDs and separate piece of PC software to digitise the vinyl which I've then put into itunes via Windows Explorer and linked to Music. The vinyl songs have to be edited when they get into iTunes so that the full details appear across all iTunes fields. It's been going fine until all of a sudden, with no chnage of procedure, ripped songs and digitised songs, linked via Explorer, are suddenly not showing.
I'm using iTunes 11.1.5.5
Anyone got any ideas or cures?
Thanks
is this an iphone or ipod touch.....
anyway, just go to the music section in itunes, find the song in question, right click, get info, artwork. Delete what is in there. Select advanced, get album artwork, and see if that fixes it. If not, just get an image file off the internet somewhere, preferrably a 300x300 image file or better. Save it in my pictures or either make a new file "albums", then go to the music section in itunes, find the song in question, right click, get info, artwork, add the image.

I just got a new MacBook Pro, plugged my iPod into it and noticed all my songs didn't transfer, including the 6 new ones I just purchased. I then brought it back to my PC to sync, and lost all my songs on my iPod. I'm now receiving all kinds of weird messages that the name of my iPod is a duplicate and cannot be synced (no matter what I put in it). During the process of loading it on my Mac., a bunch of odd emails were popping up to sync. I just kept deleting and adding mine. Is it corrupted? What have I done??? I am a personal trainer and live by my iPod. Please help.
Your post is abit confusing, especially on getting those weird messages and emails,( assumed in your Windows machine.)
Most likely you have Restored the iPod using the new Macbook pro, using the same name as that in your Windows machine, hence the duplicate name warning, as it is trying to sync Automatically.
If you are syncing your iPod to both the Mac and Windows, you must set it to Manually Manage Music, in the first machine that you setup iTunes with the iPod. Read thsi Apple Support Article
In iTunes, Preference, tick on Prevent devices syncing automatically
Hopefully your music are still in both your iTunes library,
Connect the iPod to the Mac
Restore it (just to fix any filesystem corruption by the Windows end)
Set it to Manually Manage Music
Sync your selected songs in your library.
Whern sync complete, Eject it
Connect it to your Windows PC.
Select the song in the library
Sync it.
It should work if your ipod Hardisk is not giving any problem.
Good luck! -

From your backup that is in iTunes or in iCloud or resync them from your computer.

Help, I lost all the songs on my iPod when I deleted a few songs from my iTunes Library, checked the box titled "Replace all items when Autofilling" in my Autofill Settings window, and then tried to Autofill. Note that I do not purchase songs from iTunes, but rather I rip songs off my own cd's and then transfer the mp3 files to iTunes. And after I transfer mp3 files from my pc to iTunes and then Autofill, I generally delete those files from my pc.
I can still see the songs in my iTunes Library, but not on my iPod. Is there a way that I can salvage them and get them back on my iPod?
Thanks in advance.Well you will have to wait to connect you ipod to the orignal computer and it will put all your songs back on to it.

I lost all my songs with iTunes mach after changing store
hi,
i have two itunes accounts, one on the french store, my first one, and another on the US one.
i subscribed to itunes match with the french account, and when i went on the us one, i lost all my songs for three months!
i need my two accounts, i live between nyc and paris.
*** happens and how can it be fixed.
thanks
TrikarThat's what happens when you switch stores. You need to stay with one account (at one store) otherwise you lose files that were synced with the other store.

This is in the iPad forum, but anyway, your music should still be in iTunes. What happens when you try to sync your iPod with iTunes?

I just moved all my itunes content to a windows 7 computer. I can only get "songs" in list view. Genre and Artist show as Album views. The box in preferences is checked so that all lists should show as list. How can I get a list view for Artists and Genre also?
Only when i go to a different browser (like IE) after i clear it , then all that shows up is the pages i visited in IE , that is what bugs me , why is IE browsing history sowing up in Firefox ??
Basically , i can clear the history in Firefox , and then for a example , go to Craigslist , using IE7 (launching it from a complete different Icon , in other words at that time i never open Firefox) , then after closing out , or even leaving open as it does not seem to matter , i go into Firefox , and hit History , and there is every place i visited in IE7 , on my History in Firefox -
Lost about 500 songs after i-tunes update
I looked through almost all of the posts on this board (I work overnights lots of down time) and I found very helpful advise with getting my girls mini to work with xp pro, mine 2G has worked fine since day one using 2000 pro. But I have not seen this issue yet after I updated i-tune I lost about 500 songs. I found a few that were gone and re converted them and made sure they showed up played them but a day later the ones that I re-converted showed up missing again.

unfortunately, the music feature is currently available in the US only, so if you're located elsewhere, your only option would be to restore the missing files from the backup you surely have created?! -
Ok so I just went to plug my new iPod Classic 120gb into my computer this morning to make a playlist. I didnt think the plug was in all the way so I quickly pulled it out and then put it back in.
I guess it had been in, and then me taking it out and putting it in again lead to the "Device Removal" screen. However, I have done this before and I maybe lose any songs that I had recently added to my iPod, not the ones that had already been on there though.
I just lost several thousand songs as well as 10 movies. I don't have it backed up either. I tried to figure out how to do it after having to restart my lass iPod several times, but I couldn't figure out how.
Is there any way I can recover the songs so that I don't have to spend 5 hours redoing all my playlists, etc?
Thanks for any help, I really appreciate it.Well, I wouldn't do that, unplug and plug it again while synchronization is in process? It's too risky!
Maybe you can synchronize it again with your iMac, did you try it? -

How did you get your songs onto your iPod Touch?
If purchase directly from iTunes you can download them again.
If your iPod is synced to iTunes on a Windows PC, then, sync your iPod to that computer.
If this is your first Mac, are you migrating from a Windows PC?

recently "lost" a purchased song, (Plus the accompanying artwork) from my i-tunes library, after upgrading my O.S. from windows XP to windows 7.
Is there any way to get the original song back, or, at least, re-purchase it?... I tried to do the latter, (It's still available in the itunes store) but, when I clicked on the buy link, I was informed that I had already bought it and was only given the option to, either, copy the link or send it to Facebook/Twitter
I also, inadvertently, deleted a couple of default playlists (Notably recently added) while attempting to get the song back.
Can someone out there, please, help me out. with the solution(s). (preferably step by step if possible, as I'm a bit of a Homer Simpson when it comes to this sort of thing) .. Doh!! :-(Hello, MrKite549.
Here is an article that will walk you through download any past purchases that are missing from your iTunes library.

BSM logs IP Address in reverse on x86
In moving from SPARC to x86 platform I have found that BSM is logging IP addresses in reverse order as compared to BSM on SPARC. One point of caveat here is that I am using the syslog plugin for BSM. So I don't know if this would occur in the normal
