Lost subscribed calendars when migrating to iCloud

My husband and I each have Mobile Me subscriptions.  I subscribe to two of his calendars.   I have migrated to iCloud (he has not yet) and I have lost his subscriptions.  I have resent the inviations to subscribe but this doesn't work.  Any suggestions?  Thanks

Two issues here: your crontab file, and cron under Tiger.
Installing a new major-version of OS X updates all your system config files to those for the latest versions, which unfortunately means local modifications often get lost. You should be able to re-add tasks to those files (either by hand-editing them or using the 'crontab' command). However, first you have to consider:
On Tiger, cron is still present and usable, but Apple is moving towards using "launchd" and "periodic" services to accomplish what it used to do with cron. Here is an into from Apple: http://developer.apple.com/macosx/launchd.html Can you accomplish what you used to do with cron using the New Way? Or if you switch control of some tasks back to cron, disable those tasks in launchd.
Edit: Here's a useful discussion from MacOSXHints about these issues: http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?t=44671

  • Problem with subscribed calendars when moving to iCloud

    Hi,
    in preparing the upgrade from Mountain Lion to Maverick I have tried to setup calendar syncing via iCloud. I was using direct sync to my iOS devices via iTunes so far. Unfortunately I can't get it to work. The main problematic symptom now is that the calendars, that I have subscribed to, appear multiple times (10 times or more) and Calendar hangs with the message "Moving calendars to server account".
    I have disabled iCloud again, deleted all subscriptions and then turned iCloud back on. Surprisingly the subscribed calendars reappear, again multiple times. I have also checked in iCloud on the web. Those calendars do not show up there. The symptoms are the same when I delete all old calendars there also.
    So the subscriptions seem to render calendar syncing to iCloud unworkable, but I also cannot get rid of them. Any ideas?
    Thomas

    Try this:
    <fx:Declarations>
    <s:XMLListCollection id="dp">
    <fx:XMLList xmlns="">
    <product label="€2" data="{twoEuroTotal}" />
    <product label="€1" data="{oneEuroTotal}" />
    <product label="50c" data="{fiftyCentTotal}" />
    </fx:XMLList>
    </s:XMLListCollection>
    </fx:Declarations>

  • HT5029 Reconfiguring existing subscribed calendars to push with iCloud

    I am not able to complete "Reconfiguring existing subscribed calendars to push with iCloud" using the directions given. The location, neither On My Mac, nor iCloud show up when I try to reconfigure (as shown in instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5029).  When I choose Get Info from my birthday subscription calendar, I can only "Ignore Alerts" or "Open Address Book."
    I want to be able to see my birthday calendar items on iCloud.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Many thanks, Cheryl

    Greetings Cheryl,
    The Birthday calendar in iCal s not a server based subscription which is what that article you reference deals with.  The Birthday calendar feeds directly from the contents of the Address Book on your Mac.
    To have your birthdays in iCloud:
    Go to Apple > System Preferences > iCloud -- Make sure "Contacts" (aka Address Book) is checked.
    Then follow this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2676
    Hope that helps.

  • Lost pro key when migrating

    Hi - when using Migration Assistant to transfer my files and programs between my eMac and my new iMac G5, I lost the license code I paid for some time back, along with all my license codes for downloaded programs. I really hope not to have to buy a new one! It's my intention to keep only one of these computers for myself. Is there any way I can get the license code to be recognized on the iMac? I have had to re-purchase my license code at least twice already in my ownership of macs (this is my fourth), and I'd rather not have to buy it again. I've only ever had one machine in my home at a time.
    So - can I get the code back, or do I have to buy it again?

    Did you not keep the email Apple sent you with the code when you purchased it/them? If you still have the email, just re-enter the key information.
    If not, but you purchased the key directly from Apple, log into your account in the Apple Store and click on the Downloadable Software Purchases link. You should find the key shown there.

  • Lost my calendar when W8 refreshed and updated

    I have thunderbird with lightning calendar
    my windows 8 system wanted to update and refresh after that all email info eg.address book and calendar info is not there
    please advise

    I need some more information to understand your problem better:
    * is your calendar missing the events, or do you not have the calendar tab at all?
    * do you have your mail accounts and emails, or was it like starting with nothing?
    * what version of Thunderbird did you have before the update?

  • Subscribed calendar does not disappear after deletion

    Hi, I recently deleted a subscription to a calendar on my iPhone, but all the events are still present in my iCloud. So how can I get rid of them?

    Hi Reygok,
    I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue. If you are having issues removing a subscribed calendar or events from iCloud, you may find the following articles helpful:

  • Recovery of Calendar data lost when Merging with iCloud

    I Was wondering if anyone could help.
    Basically, I have somehow managed to wipe ALL the entries from my partners iPhone 5c calendar when turning calendars on for iCloud. When prompted I pressed the merge calendars button and then everything disappeared. I turned iCloud calendars off again and the calendar which was called something like "on my iphone" has disappeared.
    I downloaded some 3rd party software which scanned the phone and found the calendar entries, but to restore them would cost my £55 for the full version of the software. Is there a way to access this data and restore it without spending this sort of money?
    Just to complicate matters, a backup of her phone hasn't been done since the start of june, roughly 7 weeks ago. I'm concerned that if I restore from that backup she'll lose contacts she's added since there along with saves and other updates she's made to apps on her phone, which will put me in even more trouble than I'm in already. I'm guessing the phone hasn't been synced with iTunes since this backup was made, although I have transferred recent purchases.
    So, is there a way to recover the calendar data that has disappeared without losing anything else?
    Thanks for for your help

    Hi
    No I hadn't created a Calendar Archive before this mishap (I will now), and I thought it would be covered by the Time Machine Backup.   I was activating my iCloud drive for the first time and I think that it was doing this that somehow lost the calendar data. Previously the Calendar data was on the Mac hard drive.
    I have now managed to get the old calendar back, but I don't quite know how.
    The links to calendar backup in your reply led me to tinker more with the Time Machine, and the data on the My Passport drive directly. I could not see the any calendar directly in Finder or Time Machine, but a Finder search on My Passport's latest backup showed various calendar stuff, including .ics files, in [users/myname/library] which were hidden.
    I either restored one of these, or imported one via Calendar. I tried both, but neither seemed to work at the time. However, I reopened Calendar a some time later and found that the “lost” calendar had returned.
    I couldn't find a way of revealing hidden files in the preferences, and I think that the library containing the Calendar files must be hidden because I could only see them via “search”.
    Anyway, all's well that ends well, but I wish that I really knew how I fixed it. Thanks for your help.

    So... you aren't in iCloud forum (there is one), this also is not Mac notebook Community, and it isn't a notebook issue. There is a forum for ML.

  • HT204150 Getting error message ("The set of folders cannot be opened") when clicking on "iCloud' folder in Outlook 2007. Lost contacts and calendar in outlook 2007 while installing icloud.

    Vista + Outlook 2007 + Icloud : Lost all contacts and calendar in outlook when installing/Synchronizing iCloud. Both still available on iphone and iCloud.
    How to get them back in Outlook? Understand iCloud erased them and transferred them in an other outlook account. In Outlook 2007, I can see a folder called "iCloud" but get an error message ("The set of folders cannot be opened...") when clicking on it. I suspect all is there, but no access possible. I assume some Outlook settings are uncorrect, but wonder which settings...?

    Well. Working just fine now, since uninstalling and re-installing icloud and syncing.

  • When I migrated to iCloud I ended up with two sets of calendars.

    When I migrated to iCloud I ended up with two sets of calendars.  I now have two calendars named "Home", two calendars named "Work", etc.  I can't just delete one set, because my events somehow ended up split across the calendars.
    Is there any way to merge these two sets of calendars into one set?  I can use Export and Import to move future events from one calendar to another, but I also want to move past events.
    FWIW, the duplicate calendars appear on all my devices and also on iCloud.

    I fixed this by doing the following:
    Renamed one set of calendars to "name-1" and the other set of calendars to "name-2".  Gave the different calendars different numbers.
    Located all events in the "-1" calendars by turning off the "-2" calenders.  Used the Year view to make sure I wasn't missing anything.
    Changed each event to point to the "-2" calendar.
    Deleted all the "-1" calendars.
    Removed the "-2" from all the remaining calendars.
    This didn't end up taking that long, and the changes were immediately reflected on all my devices.

  • Instructions for migrating calendars from MobileMe to iCloud

    Where can I find instructions for moving a published calendar from MobileMe to iCloud? I've found a few references but most seem out of date re MobileMe and iCloud.
    Thanks,
    Steve.

    Our club has an event calendar which was "published" to MobileMe in the way that has been current for some years. Club members "subscribed" to a provided URL (defined by Apple during the publishing process) which added the club calendar to their own iCal calendars.
    We may or may not have migrated to iCal (this is currently being established) but as it happens this may not be an issue as the calendar has only a small number of events each month, and all repeat, so that reconstructing the iCal setup will not be difficult even if the data has been lost.
    What is really not clear is how you set up the equivalent of MobileMe's publish/subscribe system when iCal is set up as an iCloud account. The matter of moving an existing calendar has become less important as the picture has clarified somewhat, though there is still confusion due to the fact that many Apple Help documents that we have found lead you on a path that goes back to the obsolete MobileMe instructions.

  • Can't Subscribe to Google Calendars after Migration to Mountain Lion

    I had my work Google canendars synciing fine with iCal on my old desktop running Lion.  After migrating to a new Mac Book with Mountain Lion, I cannot subscribe to my gCal's.  The error I get is "Server With Secure Communication Unavalable", which makes no sence.
    I've tried:
    Chosing to use the calendar when adding the gMail account to Mail.app
    Enabling the Calendar under the "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" Preference pane
    Adding the account using Calendar.app's Preferences.
    The suggestions I've been able to find don't apply, because we are not using Google's two-step validation.
    Did Mountain Lion break something with the Google-Apps flavor of gCal?  Is there a way to add via URL?  I tried that using Safari, but it did not work well (created a iCloud Calendar, wouldn't allow me to change the assigned color and repeatedly threw an error for the same over a year-old event despite clicking the "Ignore" button).
    Ray

    Found a work-around.  I don't know if this applies to all Google calendars, or just the Google-Apps ones:
    Add the calendar as a generic CalDAV calendar.  Use your full (hosted) gMail address as the username and www.google.com as the server address.
    Interrestingly, ML matched this up to the main Google account in the "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" Preference Pane
