  • "Lost" the Safari tool bar.  How to restore??

Using Safari, we've lost the tool bar items.  It opens, as always to the Apple home page, book marks still show, but all the tool bar items (address window, google search, arrows, etc. ) are  not there.   Can't figure out what we did wrong.  How do we restore?  Help, please!

If you have the toolbar showing, you will see Hide Toolbar in the View menu. If you don't, you should see Show Toolbar.
What version of Safari are you using?

  • As a result of the Firefox5 update, I was informed that there was a conflict with my Google toolbar. Afther the update installed I lost the Google tool bar. I don't understand and would like to have the Google tool bar restored. Can you help me.?

I received a screen message that a Firefox5 update was available and was advised to install it. I did. As part of the installation process a message was posted indicating that the update was not compatible with my Google toolbar. I don't know why, because I have been using Google and Firefox compatibly for some time.

It is absolutely nuts that I updated to 5.0 and now I'm missing my Google Toolbar and most importantly SPELLCHECK! I never would have updated had I know of this problem. Talk about an essential tool. Come on Firefox! I'll be using another browser until you can get this problem fixed!

  • I lost the old tool bar with my bookmarts and nothing is the same. I hate it.

When the latest update occurred, nothing has worked the same. The program worked fine until then. My bookmarks are not the same and almost unusable. I have to enter every web site address. Help.

What do you mean by not the same, your own bookmarks are missing or rearranged.
Since you say old toolbar, expect you are referring to the Bookmarks Toolbar.
Bring up the Bookmarks Sidebar ("Ctrl+B"). If you look at the "Bookmarks Toolbar" there is everything okay there, and if you use "Alt" to see all of your toolbars, the bookmarks toolbar is messed up(or the Bookmarks Menu out of date). If so then see ..

You can't. It's now integrated with the URL bar. It's a search/URL combo.

  • Creative Cloud icon disappeared from Apple Tool Bar after I installed some CC updates. Does somebody know what the problem can be?

Creative Cloud icon disappeared from Apple Tool Bar after I installed some CC updates. Does somebody know what the problem can be?

I had a similar issue. I closed the Cloud icon, and when I went to open it again, it just died.
I uninstalled Adobe Creative Cloud, went to the Adobe CC download page and requested a trial copy of PS, being sure to enter my CC name and password.  It then reinstalled Adobe Creative Cloud, and all is working again (I hope).

  • A few weeks ago you sent a tip by e-mail (which I have lost) to place the "Print" icon up on the top tool bar; for printing direct from screen. Please re-send.

A few weeks ago you sent a tip by e-mail (which I have lost) explaining how to place the "Print" icon permanently on the top tool bar (top right; underneath the "Home" icon).
Could you kindly re-send the tip?
    Thank you

    Do the following:
    # Right click at the top of the Firefox browser
    # Select <i>Customize...</i> from the drop-down menu
    # Drag the <i>Print</i> button to the top toolbar/tab bar
    # Click <i>Ok</i>

  • I lost my bottom tool bar and the apps I was running down there. I need to have it back but your update removed something that I use.

I have run a Hebrew calendar that sits in the bottom tool bar. I have used this calendar and rely on it, but your Firefox 5 update has removed the bottom tool bar and I want my Hebrew calendar restored. What good is updating a piece of software that works by creating something that does not work? I will stop using and stop recommending my end users to switch to Firefox if you keep removing parts that are needed.
I am help desk support for a large federal government agency and until you broke Firefox with this latest update, I would suggest that my users switch to Firefox, but unless this bug is fixed I will stop doing that.

    Does the Add-on Bar have a check-mark?
    *Firefox menu button > Options
*View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the hidden Menu bar)
You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.

  • How do I get a Vista 64 bit XP machine to show a "+" icon on the tab bar to "Open a new tab" and the "Open a new tab" icon on the far right of the Bookmarks tool bar?

I have Firefox 4.0.1 installed on two laptops, one with Windows Vista, 64 bit and the other with Windows XP. Both machines have the "Open a new tab" icon on the far right of the Bookmarks tool bar. The XP machine also has a + icon on the tab bar to "Open a new tab" while the Vista machine does not have that + icon. I like using that; is there any way to get it on the Vista machine?

After weeks of trying, I stumbled on the solution:
    # Right-click on an empty section of the Tab Strip, select Customize... and the Customize Toolbar window will open.
    # At the bottom of the Customize Toolbar window, there are additional options for changing the appearance of the icons in your toolbars. From the Show drop-down menu, you can choose what to display in the toolbars — Icons, Text, or Icons and Text together. By default, Firefox just shows Icons.
    # Select Icons and Text
    # When you are finished making changes, click Done to close the Customize Toolbar window.

  • How do I Restore FieFox to my old 3.6 version with the Yahoo Tool bar

I Restored my PC but IE7 nor Firefox would restore nor connect.
I Down loaded & installed Firefox 4.0 but it does not give me the old Yahoo Tool Bar NOR the Book Marks in my old Firefox.
How Do I make Firefox with the Yahoo Tool bar my default Browser?

Can you explain what you mean by you restored your PC? Did you run a Windows System Restore? Usually that won't have any direct effect on Firefox (it won't help, but it won't hurt).
Before proceeding further, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings (including Bookmarks) in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
This article describes some solutions when it appears that Bookmarks are gone: [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Lost%20Bookmarks Lost Bookmarks | Troubleshooting | Firefox Help].
If you prefer to reinstall Firefox 3.6, you can download it here: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
You could install Firefox 3.6 over Firefox 4 (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

  • How can I edit / delete items in the "Ask" tool bar? (e.g. I want to get rid of Facebook and You Tube)

I would like to control what items appear on the Ask tool bar and in what order they are displayed. In particular, I would like to get rid of the Facebook, YouTube, CNN, and Fun Games buttons which I see on this tool bar.

    Please do the following.<br><br>
#In the location bar where you normally type in a web address, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter.<br><br>
#If you see a window which says "This might void your warranty!", click the button which says "I'll be careful, I promise" so you can continue with the next step.<br><br>
#In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''<br><br>
#Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q= and then click OK.<br><br>
    #Close the tab
The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.
'''To reset your home page, do the following'''.<br><br>
    * Go to the site you want to set as your homepage.<br><br>
    * Click the Firefox button, go to '''Options '''| '''Options '''| '''General'''.<br><br>
    * Make sure it says "''Show My Homepage''" in the first dropdown menu.<br><br>
    * Click the button called "'''Use Current Pages'''" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.<br>
If this suggestion resolves the problem for you, please click the '''Solved it''' button next to this post after you log in into the forum. This will help others searching for a solution to the same problem.
    Thanks.

  • How can I make disappear the finder tool bar in the second monitor?

How can I make disappear the finder tool bar in the second monitor?
(I have to use ProVideoPlayer, a professional application for presenting videos and I really need a clean second monitor!)

After changing that setting and logging out and back in as it indicated, do you still have two menu bars?
If you are already set up that way and want to move the menu bar to the other monitor, drag it there in the Arrangement tab of the Displays system pref.
