Lost the isync folder....

I'm having trouble syncing my calendar with my new 30GB ipod. It used to sync, but suddenly stopped. In my quest to fix things, I was exploring the ipod from 'My Computer' and looking at it's files as a hard drive. It contained four folders....calendars, contacts, etc. I opened the calendars and accidently deleted a file named isync or icalendar or something like that.....
How can I get it back? I've already tried re-installing itunes and disabling it as a hard drive and then re-enabling it.
Thanks for any help. This whole not syncing thing *****. I bought this ipod specifically so that I could give up carrying both my mp3 player and my palm pilot when I travel.

Thanks....I did try that, figured it was the most obvious, but unfortunatly it's not there. I think because it's an external drive, it just drops it rather than dumping it into the recycle bin...
Anyone else?

  • I've lost the application folder from Favorites. How do I get it back?

I've somehow lost the application folder which should be located in Finder - left hand side under Favorites. I can do a search and find a specific application located on the hard drive - so I haven't deleted them.  But I want the Application folder with the different applications back in Finder.  I'm kind of hesitant about starting a search in areas I know nothing about.  Can anyone help?

    Hi JanMP,
The sidebar in a Finder window can be easily modified, so it's possible that the Applications folder may have been accidentally dragged out of it. You should be able to drag it back on from its current location (Macintosh HD > Applications), as outlined in the following article:
OS X Yosemite: Customize the Finder toolbar and sidebar

  • I just lost the "S" folder in my bookmarks. I was editing and poof, gone! Can I get it back?

I just lost the "S" folder in my Safari bookmarks. I was editing and poof! Is there a way to get them back?

I'm actually replying to myself! Guys, save your Safari bookmarks now and then! I realized that I had done that, being the hoarder I am. I case you lose them, while editing.....you will - at least - have an older version.

I have two users one is mine, one is a test i set up with apple care. Everything was working fine then i lost my applications folder icon on my user. I have been using the Finder to open applications, now when i open my user the mouse travels but i'm not able to get a respond from anything ,it's almost like its frozen. I have power off and restart and use the test user. Anyone have a clue or any ideas?

You can find the serial number either in About this Mc in the Menu bar under the , or it should be on a sticker under the foot of the machine.
If you have the install discs, try booting from them, holding down the c key and then using Disk Utility to check the drive.
You can also boot into Safe mode
To start up into Safe Mode (to "Safe Boot"), do this:
       1. Be sure the computer is shut down.
       2. Press the power button.
       3. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, press and hold the Shift key.
Tip: The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone but not before.
       4. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple and progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
During the startup in Mac OS X 10.2 through 10.3.9, you will see "Safe Boot" on the Mac OS X startup screen.
During the startup in Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you will see "Safe Boot" on the login window, which appears even if you normally log in automatically.
    Please post back with results,
To leave Safe Mode in any version of Mac OS X, restart the computer normally, without holding any keys during startup.

  • I have lost the keywords folder from the RHS of my library window

I have upgraded to LR2 and now the choice of Keyword no longer exists as one of the choices on the LHS of my main window.
I have Catalog, which is pretty useless for finding anything with only the whole catalog, quick collection and previous import!
I have Folders, which does not seem to work as it did (I could be wrong here) I have tried to keep the folder structure on my hard drive the same as when I only used Photoshop with, I thought, the folders in LR having the same names and contents as the folders on my DH, this seems to now have reverted to putting all pictures in a date file, making them as hard to find as originally in LR - bummer.
I have Collections, which I don't use much.
I have no longer got keywords, which I relied on to find stuff, and seems to be on the screen in the illustrations workshop of how to use keywords, but not on my computer.
I have looked in the places which seemed obvious to me in the menus and tried right-clicking in the space where it USED to be, to see if it had been somehow switched off, but found nothing.
    Any help????

    >I have upgraded to LR2 and now the choice of Keyword no longer exists as one of the choices on the LHS of my main window.
You would do well to read the portions of Chap. 5 in the LR2 Help document related to keywords since they are handled differently in LR2 compared to prior versions. The Keyword panel is now on the right, BTW, and you search for keywords using the Library Filter stuff at the top of the LR display.
There's also a lot of info here in the forum if you do a search for "keywords", but you'll have to wade through a lot of posts unrelated to your question.

  • IPhoto lost the "pictures" folder link

Now it just spins forever warning updating images. It never does though.
My only choice was reimport my entire Pictures library. I did this and was shocked to find all my folder catalogs was replaced by new folders. I can't tell 2002 Easter images from 2006 Christmas images. In addition to reimporting all my images as one new group, it seems to have made a duplicate file for each in a very low rez thumbnail type version as well.
Luckily, I backed up files and still have the original Pictures folder.
My question is still won't automatically reconnect to it. How do I relink it withouth reimproting everything as if it were new?

I'm trying to help you, but I'm afraid I don't understand your description of what you've done or what happens when you do it. For example, you said
When opening iPhotos, it just spins forever saying "loading photos..." Holding down option or option-command gives the same results.
That doesn't make sense to me. Holding down Option *while launching iPhoto* should bring up a dialog box asking you to Find or Create a library. It won't even try to load the photos, so the results should be quite different. Press and hold the Option key, then click iPhoto in your dock or double-click iPhoto in your Applications folder. Keep holding the Option key until you get the dialog. Are you getting this dialog at all? If so, can you navigate to the location of your iPhoto Library folder ?
If you hold down Option and Command *while launching iPhoto* it will go briefly to the "loading photos" stage, but shouldn't hang there if you *keep holding the keys down*. Instead, you should get a dialog box with 4 options and a button that says "Rebuild". Are you saying this box never came up, or that you initiated the rebuild but it was unsuccessful?
The only option it will allow is to reimport each as a brand new photo database.
Reimport what as a new photo database? Do you mean you are able to create a new library ? Are your existing library and your backup libraries gray and you can't select them when you try to navigate to them (with the Option-launch method)? If so, then your database is corrupt and the only recourse is to create a new library and import your photos into it. That is, if you wish to use iPhoto.
To end this misery for once and for all, is there a way to actually get my images from the hidden places?
Your photos are not hidden, unless you have moved, overwritten, or deleted them. They should be inside your iPhoto Library folder, in various subfolders numbered by year, month, and date. For a diagram and explanation of the library structure, click here. Thanks to lori_diloretto for this helpful illustration.
The diagram applies only if you are using iPhoto 5. You are, right? As you posted your question in the iPhoto 5 forum. Other versions are very different.
If you'd like further assistance please answer some of my questions and give me a little more to go on. Otherwise, I can't begin to guess what has happened or how you can fix it.
    Regards.

  • I have lost pictures in iPhoto, but I can see them in the data folder, except they are only thumbnail size.  They will not open at regular size and are showing unreadable in the "originals" folder.  I've rebuilt and nothing is restoring these pics.

I have lost pictures in my iPhoto.  We moved my iPhoto to a external hard drive and I believe since then, I have random pics missing.  Some pics will show up in the "photos" and some show with a title and a blank picture.  When I click on "package contents" in iPhoto, I have found the "Originals" folder where all the pics are pulling from and the file is there but won't open.  However, in the DataXML folder under package contents, I can open the file but it is much smaller (supposed to be 1 MG, but showing in the data folder as 63kb).  How can I get these pics restored in the Originals folder?  I've rebuilt the library several times and I just ran the iPhoto Library Manager and it won't pull from the data file.  Help!!

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I lost an xcel doc a couple of days ago. Tried to find the Library folder in Users but not there when I use Finder (even when I do shift-command-G). But when trying to upload a photo in iphoto I found the library folder in Users. I can see my doc in Office 2011 Autorecovery, but can't access it! How do I get User to show Library then I can get to my long lost document?

The auto recovery dat should be in the Microsoft User Data folder in your documents folder, not in the Library. However, I Haven't had to look recently.

  • Lost emails, how to get them back from the Mail folder?

    Hi there.
I have a folder called +/Previous System+ inside of this folder there was folders of the system I had before.
Inside there is the Applications folder, and I deleted the old versions of the applications such as Mail, but when I did this, I lost the preferences and the email accounts, the Mail application opened as new, without any account, I still have all the folders and .mbox files under ~[User]/Library/Mail but I don't know how to make the accounts visible in Mail
Question 1: How can I retrieve my sent and received emails.
Also the accounts that I had were POP and today I learned that the hosting provider suggests IMAP, so now I'm confused.
Question 2: What should I do? if I get the accounts back will be POP or should I create IMAP accounts and try to retrieve the emails there?
    Thanks!

  • I've lost my applications folder from the dock

I've lost my applications folder. I think I picked it up by accident and put it in the trash. But was unable to recover it. I've tried taking the applicaions folder from finder and that works to the point that it puts a shortcut on the desktop. But I want my applications folder returned to it's former glory with the A on it and in the dock. Help

You should update your profile to indicate what version of Mac OS X you are currently running.
And this is an OS question, not an iMac question.
Have you tried dragging the Applications folder to the Dock?  It has to be dragged to the right side of the dividing line between individual applications on the left and folders/trash on the right.

Lost the "recent file" folder in the dock next to the trash bin and cannot figure out how to replace it. Any thoughts?

First thing I would do is look in the trash and if it isn't there look in the System Preferences and I am sure it will be in there.
