Lost username

Hi I recentlyhad trobble getting on my computer. What i did was reinstall OS X, and archiving. When i restarted the computer it ask me to log in. I found how to change the password, but not the username. Can anyone help?

Open the Terminal from the CD's Utilities menu and type in the following:
ls -ln '/Volumes/volumename/Users/'
Press Enter; both instances of l in the command are lowercase Ls. This command will produce one or more lines of output along the lines of:
drwxrwxrwt 3 0 0 102 Feb 15 2006 Shared
lrwxr-xr-x 1 501 501 34 Feb 10 2006 username
The second blue string is the username you're looking for; in addition, you need to note down the blue number, as you will be using it later. From here, perform the instructions in sections 1 and 3 of this article. When done, create a new user account with a short name as described below.
If the number you noted down is 501, assign it the old short name.
If the number you noted down is above 501, create accounts with different short names until the number you noted down is equal to 500 plus the number of accounts you've created. The last account you create should have the original short name.
If the number you noted down is below 501, create two new accounts; in this case, both accounts should have different short names. Next, log in to the first account and use the NetInfo Manager in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder to change the second user account's UID property and part of the home property to the ones returned by the command. If you change the name property here, you need to change the membership of one or more groups as well. Don't alter or delete anything else in the NetInfo Manager.

Lost username for WRT54GS, resetting router doesn't seem to restore defaults

I lost username for WRT54GS so I tried resetting as per instructions, holding down reset key for 30 seconds, but can't log in using 'admin' and blank password, which I understand is factory default, and which should have been restored on reset--right? I have reset the router at least 3 times, always making sure I push reset key in for 30 seconds. That's the simplest to explain of two related problems.
On a second computer on same network, I have no Internet access at all, and if I try to get to the router it says it can't find 192.168.1.1. Since I can access the Internet on computer #1, and also have a voice over IP device hooked up to router that is also working, I assume this problem is on computer #2 and not the router EXCEPT--how does this relate to the problem stated for computer #1?
Before this particular way of acting, computer #2 was announcing that there was an IP address conflict. It doesn't say that now, it just can't connect to anything. What's odd is that if I display network connections on computer #2, the Linksys connection shows and displays strong signal exactly as it does on computer #1, so obviously computer #2 can 'see' the router, but clicking 'Connect' on the wireless network connections window doesn't work, it simply won't connect. I tried setting up network again but that didn't clear the problem.
I have a great suspicion this has to do, at least in part, with IP addresses but don't know where to go from here.
I appreciate detailed step by step instructions because I am a novice at this. Brave but ignernt.

Actually, its the other way around, blank username and admin for the password.

Lost username and password for certview

I took OCPJP6 exam and got certified on Jun 2011. Recently I changed my email and because I haven't been using the old email, I've forgotten the password for that email. I'm sure it's locked anyway because it hasn't been opened for more than a year. I registered in certview using the old email. The question is, how do I publish my certificate now? I remember my Pearson VUE testing ID. Can anyone please help me? thanks

The following information is however helpful.
1) PearsonVUE account. Have you successfully updated your new email on your pearson VUE account? IT so when did you to it? If less than 3 working days ago then wait and retry.
2) Oracle Single Sign On:
With you new email address:
Have you continued to user the same Oracle Sign Sign on account with an updated email, or have you lost that account and created a fresh Oracle Single Sign on account?
( Acutally as your registration date is Mar 2011 it seems you have maintained the same Oracle Single sign on account).
3) I'd wait a couple of days to see if someone answers any better .... if not raise a certification service request.

When I type in my router's (WRT54G2) webpage it asks me for a username and password as normal. But my problem is I forgot what my username and password was. So how would I be able to find it or reset it?

You have to reset the router to factory defaults pressing the reset button for 30 seconds... There is no other way if you forgot the password...

so last night i wanted to rename my username on my macbook pro but ended up removing it i have lost anything files pic videos you name it and system preferences will not open i can not save pic from the internet and i can not find my old username anywere dose anyone know how i can recover my lost username or start a new one ?

I recently bought a unlocked blackberry flip. The at&t sim card allows internet access and calls fine, but the option to setup personal email is not available. Anybody have an answer? At&t were not help and the seller will not respond.

If you have been recieving emails with a pearl before then it must be connected to BIS in some way. I get the impression you do not know of your username and password on the service.
If you read this page it clearly states that to have push email you are complimentarily registered with BIS (see this about 2/3 way down page) http://www.wireless.att.com/businesscenter/solutions/email-messaging/email-blackberry.jsp
I am in France but the system is the same world over...... to access my BIS login in france is http://blackberry.orange.fr by googling at&t and blackberry I came up with this for you https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html/
There you will have several options.......you can try the "lost username and/or password" using the PIN from your original pearl (as this is the one currently registered with BIS for push email)......once you have done the detective work and gotten into the system you can then change the PIN to the new phone........
Alternatively if you have your username and password for BIS, leave the SIM in the Flip, log on to BIS and then it will ask you if you want to change your email accounts to run with the phone that currently has your SIM........you do not need to set up email on the blackberry yourself as once BIS knows what phone you want to use the BIS server configures your phone for you - that is why you cannot find an option in the phone to enable you to set it up!!
I would have thought your supplier would have told you your login and pass for BIS when you signed up for push email on the blackberry, or, if not, you must have set it up yourself with the pearl

New features introduced for User Management (UMX) in R12
The following are the new features introduced in R12 for User Management (UMX):
1)Proxy User:
This new functionality:
· Provides the delegator the ability to grant/revoke the proxy privilege to individuals
· Provide a mechanism throughout the application’s framework where the user can access the proxy switcher feature
· Provide a mechanism throughout the application’s framework which indicates to the user that they are acting as a proxy
· Provide the ability to track the delegate’s actions within the system, while the delegate is acting on behalf of the delegator (Audit)
Benefits of Proxy User:
Ability to delegate proxy authority provides great security controls and Granular control of proxy authority is provided i.e delegate authority can be specified for date ranges
2) ICM (Separation of Duties – SoD) Integration
Oracle User Management is integrated with Oracle Internal Controls Manager (ICM) for the prevention, detection, enforcement, and resolution of separation-of-duties constraints during the assignment of roles by administrators to users.
For example, a constraint (created using a set of ICM UIs) can be defined such that no user is allowed to have "Role A" and "Role B" at the same time. In such a case, anadministrator attempting to assign Role B to a user who already has Role A will be presented with a dialog page displaying the constraint violation information.
At this point, the administrator can take one of two actions:
• Go back to the role assignment page and remove the assignment that is causing the
violation.
• Override the constraint violation, if he has the "AMW: Allow SOD Violation
Override" permission granted to him.
With this permission, the administrator will see Apply and Cancel buttons on the constraint violation dialog page. Clicking Apply will override the constraint, and assign Role B to the user despite the warning. Clicking Cancel will cancel the save operation without granting Role B to the user.

3) Enhanced Forget Username/Password Functionality
Forgot Username Functionality is Introduced in R12 along with Forgot Password. So now Users can query on either lost “username” or lost “password” Users should enter email address if lost username and enter username if lost password
Users can now aslo reset username as part of email address verification instead of a two step process.
4)New Registration Process Type for Administrator Role Assignment
New Registration Process Type is introduced for type “Administrator Assisted Additional Access”
Different policies (registration processes) can be used as administrative actions vs. self service requests for
· Approval Routing
· UI
· Notifications
· Business Logic
Simpler registration processes can be created for self-service and administrator flavors
Support for alternative approvals for administrator role assignment is also introduced.
5) Security Wizard Infrastructure
a)Security Wizard Infrastructure
· Infrastructure for product teams to create their own security wizards in context of a role.
· Product teams can create their wizards and seed relevant information
· These wizards appear in list of security wizards available to the administrator when creating/updating role information
b)New User Interface for Delegated Administration
· Existing functionality(11.5.10) of delegated administration setup implemented using wizard infrastructure
· Wizard guides the user through what options they can set for a delegated administration
6) Search Enhancement for List of Value’s (LOV)

1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Change Password from the Installer menu up at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Change Password.*

Starts up like the first time you buy a new Mac, but after filling in all that info again, you should have access to the computer and the other Users & files will still be there... give the new User a different name than an existing one.

I'm afraid that your passwords are lost if you have clicked the "Remove All" button unless you have abackup of the files key3.db and signons.sqlite in the Firefox Profile Folder

I bookmarked frequently used websites. Many of which had secure user names and passwords. I used firefox, norton and roboform to remember the user names and passwords. All of these were lost when I upgraded to Firefox 4. I need to recover the usernames and passwords. I also want to use these features going forward. What do I do?

Figured it out. Just gotta delete keychain.plist, which is found in one of the following two spots:
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Preferences\keychain.plist
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Apple Computer\Preferences\keychain.plist

You are getting this message because you are trying to create an iCloud account on a PC. You can only create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher. After creating your account on one of these devices you will then be able to sign into the account using this ID on your PC.

Updated itunes/istore username and lost library?!

I changed my username for my itunes/istore yesterday. This morning I synced my iPhone with my itunes and now my iPhone shows NO MUSIC!
Sidenote: I tried downloading 2 songs on my iPhone's itunes and they won't leave the "Downloads" folder in itunes.

Similar problem that I need help on. I have two partial libraries. I get to one with "MacHD > ITunes Music> Folder (by artist)> Songs". The other is under "User > Music > ITunes > ITunes Music >Music > Folder (by artist) >Songs". The files are similar, but I don't know how to combine them. I'm scared to death that I'll create 6200 duplicates. If someone could help me, I promise to stop and help you on the freeway if you ever run out of gas.
