Lost voice memos after ios 7

I just realized my voice memos were gone.
I'm using cloud for backup.
Memos definitely aren't in iTunes.
Tried several free trials of 79 dollar programs and am not seeing memos.
I'd do almost anything to get these back. And suggestions or gurus I could pay?
Thanks,
Elizabeth

Before my very eyes all my Voice Memos disappeared off my iPhone 5s after the IOS 8.0.2 upgrade. The application was doing some weird things before it deleted every Voice Memo - wobbling and shimmering. Any ideas anyone?

  • I lost sound shortly after iOS 6 was down loaded. Sound works headphones.

I lost sound shortly after iOS 6 was down loaded. Sound works with headphones. When no headphones are plugged in and I try to use the volume control on side sound effects comes up but no sound is made. I get sound over main speaker when i adjust alert volume. I restarted and downloaded iOS 6 update with no results.

    Try this:
    1. Settings>General>Use Side-Switch To>Lock Rotation.
    2. Double-click the Home button and swipe Task Bar to the right.
    3. Make sure the button on the far left of Task Bar is not muted

  • Lost all of my voice memos after backup.

When I backup my iPhone 3GS in 10.5 is it doing a full backup of the phone or just what is checked in sync. Because I lost all my voice memos by just "backing it up" before upgrading to iOS5.

  • New iPhone 6 Plus iOS 8 - lost voice memo while listening to it

I just lost a voice memo while I was listening to it. Also, all the filenames of previous memos were wiped - they now appear as dates. I have a new iphone 6 plus - two weeks old.
I tried a data recovery app, with no success. I hadn't backed up the memo yet. Surely it's still somewhere? How do I find it?

  • How do I retrieve lost voice memo that WASN'T backed up?

While updating to the new IOS 7.1, my phone froze and went into recovery mode. I had to do a reset and update and then restore from a backup file which took upwards of an hour. Oh joy. I try to back up my Iphone 4s to my Macbook often so I didn't lose too much during the reset except for a very important voice memo.
My question is, is there any way to retrieve that voice memo lost during the update if it wasn't backed up? I've tried iExplorer and some other data recovery software but they are only able to extract what is already available on the phone or from a previous back up. I called into my local Apple store and they referred me to a super expensive data recovery specialist. I've heard of USB sticks, Iphone Data Recovery sticks that are supposed to be able to retrieve old data from when you first bought your phone. But they are expensive as well and I'm not entirely sold that it'll work for me.
Does anyone know of any alternative methods? Or if it's even possible to retrieve lost data after a reset? I'm desperate to get this voice memo back so thanks for any help!

No. It's gone. And you can ignore the spamvertisements that are sure to pop up touting data recovery software. The only thing they are going to recover is your money... straight into their own pockets.

  • Lost voice memos

I had a bunch of voice memos on my iphone that wouldn't sync with itunes. I didn't think anything about it and figured it was a glitch that would get fixed. Well, after installing 6.0 OS, all of my voice memos are gone. Is there a way to retrieve these? I need them back, bad!!!!!

I was horrified to open my Voice Memos app earlier this evening and discover a distinct absence of recordings, as well. I downloaded iExplorer and, without purchasing or registering the software, was able to recover my memos from a backup.
    Download here: http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/
Upon opening iExplorer, chose "Continue with Demo" in the bottom right corner. Chose "Backups" on the right, under "Explore." A dialog box will prompt you to "Use Last Backup" or "Refresh." Click "Use Last Backup."
From the list of folders you now see, open "MediaDomain>Media>Recordings." Your voice memos are the files of type M4A. Simply select those files and drag them into a new folder on your desktop. You can then add the files from the folder on your desktop to iTunes and make a playlist or whatever else your heart desires. The dates and times of the memos seem to be lost, but at least the recordings themselves were salvagable. Hopefully this process resolves your issue. Good luck!
Also, I think it would be in our best interest to take a lesson from this, and manually backup our recordings on a regular basis from this point forward.

  • Can I recover non-backed up voice memos after accidental restore?

I went to the apple store genius bar when the camera is my phone ( (iOS6) was failing.  they asked if my phone was backed up and I said yes, but actually had not backed it up in 3 weeks.  I had unchecked the auto-sync button pn my ma because my hard drive was too full, and before going to the apple store, clicked on the Sync button, which is not the Backup button --so I screwed up and thought it was backed up.
I actually had 3 weeks of very important voice memos and have been trying to recover them ever since.  several geniuses said they thoguht there was software that would help, but I have had no luck.  an iphone engineer told me he didn't think it was possible.  clearly, if this was a regular hard drive or flash drive, it would be posisble to recover data after reformatting, as long as the data was not overwritten.  however, the iphone encryption seems to be the difference here.
since my phone still has the camera issue and was under warranty, apple has offered me a new phone but I have held off, as I still am trying to find a way to get my data.
anyone know how--or is it totally impossible?
    thanks

As long as you don’t disable the automatic sync option in iTunes, it will automatically generate a backup for your iOS device when you plug your device into your Mac or PC, and the backup file updates along with your every sync. So it is certainly sure and easy to restore iPhone from iTunes backup with Vibosoft iTunes data recovery. That is, you can recover your iPhone/iPad/iPod data from the recent iTunes backup whenever the data is missing.

  • IPhone syncs Voice Memos after unchecking sync box in iTunes

I do not want to sync my voice memos from my iphone to itunes so i have unchecked the sync voice memos option and they still continue to sync over and itunes creates a playlist for voice memos. I have tried this numerous times and even after a restore it still happens? Anyone have any ideas?

It will happen automatically. iTunes always syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPhone to your computer. All you can do is delete them or ignore them.
Keep in mind that if you delete a voice memo on iPhone, it isn’t deleted from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from iTunes, it is deleted from iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes.
The "Include voice memos" button in the iTunes Music pane for your phone is only for syncing your voice memos playlist back to the phone.

  • Voice memos in ios 7: lengths not set at first

    Hello;
I intended to write this as a question about what happened to an important voice memo that
I recorded yesterday, but going through what I did yesterday leads me to believe that I actually
deleted it because I thought it was empty.
I just upgraded to ios 7 on my iphone 4.  Yesterday was my first experience using the new
voice memo app.  It is my practice to record audio of class meetings and then the post an
mp3 file to the cloud.  At the end of class, I noticed that a voice memo had been recording as
I expected.  I don't recall if I paused recording then hit "Done" or hit "Done" directly.  A dialogue
    box came up:
    > New Voice Memo
    > Enter a name for this voice memo
    > New Recording
    > Cancel OK
A student asked a question and I had to leave the room, so I didn't complete the step of naming the file
    then.
Later, I noticed a recording of zero length (0:00:00) which I thought had gotten created inadvertently
(that seemed to be easy to do in the previous version of voice memo, so I didn't think much of it).
I deleted that file.  The question remained what had happened to my recording (of about 75 minutes).
As I tried to recreate my problem now, so I coud write it up accurately, I realized that all the voice memos I
created are shown as 0 length when they first appear on the list of recordings.  As I tried this a few times,
the delay in changing the length from 0:00:00 to the correct length did vary... from almost
instantaneously up to a couple of seconds (I don't know if it depends on the length of the file: the longest
I tried now was about 30 seconds).
For what it's worth, the zeros should not be displayed at all.
    Best regards,
    Daryl

i have managed to work out what this issues is being caused by please head over to my blog, but apple needs to fix this up properly.

  • I accidently deleted my voice memos on my iphone. i was using itunes on two different computers and my voice memos are gone. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO RETRIEVE MY LOST VOICE MEMOS? PLEASE HELP!

itunes asked me if iwanted to erase all my files on my iphone when i connected it to my second computer.
    i clicked yes
and all of my very important voice memos were deleted
however none of my photos were deleted...... and they count as files don't they?
anyway i need help on how to retrieve deleted voice memos
    PLEASE HELP!!!

You should never try to sync your phone with more than one computer or you will lose your data.  The pictures were not deleted because the sync process does not touch Camera Roll pictures (it only includes them during the backup step of the sync process).
If you had these voice memos on your phone when you last synced it to your first computer, and if you haven't synced to this computer since then, you could restore from the backup created during your last sync.  This will replace the data on your phone with the data from this older backup so anything new will be lost.  If you think that is the case, do not sync your phone again to the first computer prior to restoring from this backup or you will overwrite it and the backup will be lost.  Instead, prior to connecting your phone to your first computer, open iTunes and disable automatic syncing by going to iTunes Preferences and on the Devices tab checking "Prevent...from syncing automatically".  Then connect your phone and when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar right-click on its name and select Restore From Backup and choose your last backup (containing your voice memos).
If you didn't have these voice memos on your phone when you last synced to your first computer, or if you have synced again to your first computer since losing your data, then your voice memos and other data are lost.

  • Xfer voice memos after disk crash on syncd pc

Can anyone out there tell me how to get large (~40 minute) voice memos off an iphone without syncing?
Or -  how to sync to a new itunes instance without deleting all the content on the iphone?
The old PC that the iphone was sync'd with .. crashed and died.
Meanwhile my beloved continued to add lengthy voice memos to the iphone.
I cannot now get those much desired voice memos off the iphone to a new itunes install on a different computer even though it is authorized under same ID. The sync operation threatens to erase everything on the iphone.
IOS is not up to date; it is 3x, I think (beloved has iphone on an airplane somewhere over the midwest at this moment so I can't look).
