Lost Windows 8 Recovery CD for Satellite C855

Hi,
So on the 18th Dec 2012 I bought a Toshiba Satellite C855
(Intel Core i5 - 3210M 2.5/3.1 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, Windows 8, USB 3.0, Bluetooth)
After a while I put windows 7 on the laptop.
Now I want to reformat and put windows 8 back on and upgrade to windows 8.1.
The trouble is I cant find my recovery CD.
There is no windows Key on a sticker on the laptop or box.
There is just a windows 8 sticker under the laptop but no key.
I've read that I can request a replacement CD key but I have no idea how to do this.
Any help would be appreciated.
Kind regards
Liam

  • Need windows 7 32 bit for Satellite R630-11L

Can anyone help me to locate Windows 7 32bit drivers for Satellite R630-11L,
    I found only for windows 7 64bit

    Hi
I didnt find a full range of Win 7 32bit drivers for Satellite R630 on the Toshiba European driver page as you said, just 64bit drivers are available.
You can try to install 64bit drivers on Win 32bit system. In many cases this should be possible.
In cases where this is not possible, try the drivers from other satellite series
    Its worth a try
But why you want to switch to 32bit? 64bit OS is better if your notebook supports 4GB RAM or more

  • Need WLAN drivers for Satellite C855-1KP, Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite C855-1KP, Part Number PSKCAE-04600QG5, and i can`t find the wireless driver on web.
I scaned my laptop with TOSHIBA PC Diagnostic Toll, and at Network appear:
    Network Realtek RTL8723AE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC version= MAC Address=
All my drivers I downloaded from www.Toshiba.com, all worked, except the wireless driver.
I tryed allready some wireless drivers from Intel ( Intel PRoSet/Wiress Software and Intel PRoSet/Wiress WiMAX Software ) but they give me an error that I couldn`t resolve ( The WiMAX adapter was missing, and the error code was 0x302 ).
I really don`t know what anything else to do. Please help me if you can.
    Andrew

    Hi
The REALTEK B/G/N(1X1)RTL8723AE was built in other notebook series.
Therefore I would recommend downloading the driver from other notebook series.
    For example:
    [Realtek Semiconductor Corporation v2.00.0020|http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory =2&selFamily=381&selSeries=231&selProduct=7506&sel ShortMod=3427&language=13&selOS=29&selType=all&yea rupload=&monthupload=&dayupload=&useDate=null&mode =allMachines&search=&action=search&macId=&country= all&selectedLanguage=13&type=all&page=1&ID=84224&O SID=29&driverLanguage=42]

  • What is right Recovery CD for Satellite L300?

I recently bought "Toshiba Satellite L300" which had Windows 7 operating system but the Recovery CDs had Windows XP.
And my hard disk was single partition and Microsoft office was not working on this notebook and I used that CD to fix these problems.
But I lost my previous Windows 7.
Now it is Windows Xp SP 3 on my computer.
But I am not satisfied with XP want Windows 7.
How can i get it again for free?
Please let me know that what is right Recovery CD for "Toshiba Satellite L300". ?

    >I recently bought "Toshiba Satellite L300" which had Windows 7 operating system but the Recovery CDs had Windows XP.
Hmm this is strange I have no clue what Satellite L300 this is but usually an L300 series was preinstalled with Vista Home Premium
So Im wondering why Win 7 was preinstalled and why you get Win XP recovery disk
Usually the L300 should be equipped with an HDD recovery partition which would contain the Toshiba image.
It should be able to recover the new notebook using the HDD recovery and this should help you reinstall the Vista OS.
In my opinion you should talk with your dealer maybe the notebook was a replacement device????
    Who knows

  • How to get a Recovery media for Satellite L305D S5900

I am a Ghanaian who bought a Toshiba laptop about seven months ago. The model is Satellite L305D S5900. I am also in Ghana. I found out from the documents that came with the laptop and your forum that I can order for Recovery media for it with no charge on the software itself.
How do I get this Recovery media for my machine as I am in a different country? What are the things involved?
    Thank You.

Your T500 can burn CD's at the least and if you can access Windows, you should be able to burn a set of recovery discs.
Other than that, I suggest calling support to see what they can do to help. The number in the U.S. is 1-800-426-7378.

  • Is HDD recovery available for Satellite Pro 450L?

    Hi,
i was wondering is the recovering for 450L installed on the laptop i.e. pressing certain commands when it starts up will launch it? or did a cd come with it.

I dont know which SP L450 do you have exactly but I have checked some specifications and can say that this notebook model was offered with Windows 7 32bit Professional and WXP as recovery CD.
So if you want to install Windows7 again you can use HDD recovery installation - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm
    For WXP use delivered CD/DVD.
I recommend you to create recovery DVD for Win7.

  • Need Recovery Media for Satellite A660-042 Model PSAW3C-042017

The hard drive on my Satellite A660-042 Model PSAW3C-042017 died on me. I have installed a new HDD but need the RECOVERY MEDIA. The Laptop was purchased in Canada, Toshiba USA does not seem to have the Recovery Media for this model and Toshiba Canada will not mail it to the USA. Can anyone help?

    Satellite A660-042 (PSAW3C-042017)
All the stuff for your Canadian model is here.
Toshiba Canada will not mail it to the USA.
I'm really surprised at that. Toshiba in the US mails them to Canada for US models.
    Have you called 800-663-0378 yourself?
If that's true, you'll need to have an acquaintance order the discs and reship them.

  • Audio Stuttering for Satellite C855-S5350

Hello. I am currently experiencing some audio stuttering on my Satellite C855-s5350. I was wondering how one goes about fixing the problem. It uses Realtek HD Audio.

Was it working previously? Try using System Restore to restore a previous restore point from before this became an issue.

  • Can I use my Recovery CD for Satellite A50 to repaire my WXP?

    Dear sir/madam
I am a Student and I have a Toshiba A50 laptop. I have a system problem in my computer. when I was running an adware remover program the computer got stuck and when I tried to restart the computer, the computer starts and goes to the windows welcome screen(windows xp) and then the computer screen goes blank (or black).
When I restarted my computer it goes to this option screen where it gives, safe mode, last good configuration mode, etc.. I tried to start in safe mode, and in last good configuration mode, but nothing happened , the black screen appear after the windows welcome screen.
My friend advice me to do a windows XP repair. I have the Toshiba product Recovery CD, which I got when I purchased the laptop. My question is can I do a Windows xp repair from this CD ?
I booted my computer from this product recovery CD. It gave me 3 optons as below
    1 Recover entire hard disk
Warning- all store data on your computer will be lost. Factory pre installed software will be installed/
    2 Expert Recovery
Warning- this is for pc experts only. Factory pre installed software can be installed onto an existing (bootable) partition.
    3 Exit
I need to recover all my files from my hard disk. That's my main concern.
So do you guys think that I can do a Windows xp repair from this product recovery CD?
    Thanks
    Robert

    Hi Robert,
No you cannot use the recovery CD to repair your Windows installation. The Recovery CD can only be used to fully restore your operating system to its original condition when you first obtained it.
If you want to use the Windows recovery console then you will need to obtain a genuine Microsoft installation CD.
If your notebook has only one partition (the C: drive) then using the recovery CDs will effectively reformat your hard drive and will overwrite all your own data and files.

  • How can I get a recovery disk for Satellite P300-1CI?

    Hi everybody,
first, sorry for my english, I'm a belgian and I speak french.
Yesterday I bought a toshiba Satellite P300-1CI, when I started, I must installed Vista home.
I would like to format my disk and reinstall my old Windows XP.
My question is : How can keep an image disk with Vista? I don't have an installation disk of Vista and don't know my registration key of it.
How can I have a recovery disk ?
    Can you help me please.
PS : Sorry for my english

    Hi mate
User manual is really interesting document and in most cases it answer all you questions ;)
Anyway, the Toshiba recovery disk should be created before you would format and install on the HDD.
You have to use the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator application in order to create the Recovery DVD.
    Now to you other question;
The Vista image which is preinstalled and placed on the Recovery disk (after recovery disk has been created) is activated already and you dont need to insert any keys or activate anything.

  • Alternative to Recovery Disks for Satellite 1805-S154?

The one time in all these years that I needed the recovery disks, they failed (application error 437, cannot read from file), which means my Satellite 1805 is now a brick. I've contacted Toshiba, read pertinent threads and the FAQs, and know that I can order replacement recovery disks. Is that the best or only solution? I ask because that means updating the original Windows XP to SP3, along with everything else, which is a very lengthy process on this unit. If I don't want to use the laptop as a doorstop, are the recovery disks my only option?
    Thanks for your help.

I ordered new recovery disks from one of the vendors recommended on this site. These disks also fail, always at the second disk, always when the process reaches 58-60% completion.
The error message displayed is always "Cannot open GHOST.ERR" and the process falls apart at that point. I can provide specific error messages, such as "Application Error 437, cannot read from file," but the problem doesn't appear to be file-specific.
I've made sure the laptop isn't over heating, the fan is running and there should be sufficient RAM to finish the process. What appears to happen is that the read-write process from the CD to the hard drive simply wears down.
Can anyone suggest a remedy or where I go from here? Even if you tell me there's nothing I can do, I'd appreciate a response. I haven't yet contacted the disk vendor as the disks just arrived yesterday.
    Thanks.

  • Creating Win 7 64bit Recovery Disc for Satellite L500-19x?

    My new Satellite L500 - 19X came pre-installed with Win 7 - 64 bit version.
Also included was a "Product Recovery Win 7 32 bit" disc
Within the packaging was a leaflet saying:
"If you plan to use the 64-bit version at a later stage, please create a _recovery medium_ prior to installing 32-bit Windows 7"
It then cautions me to create a "64 bit recovery medium.....ordering a 64-bit recovery medium is not free of charge"
The manual goes on at length about "_System Recovery Options_" As instructed in the manual I have made a "Repair Disc Windows 7 64-bit" Am I correct in saying that I do not or cannot have an actual Win 7 64-bit disc?
The leaflet says "a backup copy (of the Win 7 64-bit) is stored on the hard disk drive as a _recovery image_" So is this the actual Win 7-64-bit complete disc that I am after, and if so how do I get it?
The Toshiba documentation is not clear, and I believe rather contradicts itself?
I am confused! Anyone understand what's going on?
    JohnF.

My confusion is because I don't understand what "recovery disc" means?!
On the "Dear Customer" flyer entitled "+Choosing your Windows 7 Architecture+" that came with the machine it states:-
"+A backup copy of the system (64 bit version) is stored on the hard disk drive as a recovery image+" This is what I don't understand, as I have already made a "+repair disc Win 7 64-bi+t" as well as having the "+Product recovery Win 7 - 32-bit" cd+" This cd seems to be the complete Windows disc, unless I am mistaken.
I guess what I am getting at is do I have complete Win 7 - 64-bit in case of total failure of the machine ? (I am asking the question because you often used to get a full Windows disc with a new computer in the old days)
Does this make it any clearer? Thanks for everyone's help
    JohnF
