  • How to retrieve work repository password in ODI 11g

    Hi,
I have forgot my work repository password and unable to login.
Please let me know if anyone come across similar situation and retrieve password. I tried change password option but it's asking first old password.
    Thanks,
    Nish

    Phani ,
    Go to your <ODI_11g_HOME>/oracledi/agent/bin
and you will find agent.sh , agent_<standalone_agent>.sh and odiparams.sh and other agent files.
    Step 1. Update your odiparams.sh
Step 2. Create the Physical and Logical Agent int your Topology using the same port_number and name provide while creating the Stand alone agent during installation ( or) create accordingly the agent in Topology with name and port number as required and make the modification in agent_<stand_alone>.sh file
Step 3. After doing so start your agent_<stand_alone>.sh
Step 4. Repeat the process 2-3 for any number of stand alone agent created on different ports and steps 1 to 3 for different Work repository
    Thanks

  • Cannot Start Execution from Work repository of ODI

I'm unable to start any execution with ODI agent from my work repository, getting the following error,
"oracle.odi.runtime.agent.invocation.InvocationException: ODI-1274: Agent Exception Caused by: Create DwgConnectConnection to work repository failed; nested exception is java.sql.SQLException: Exception occurred while getting connection: oracle.ucp.UniversalConnectionPoolException: Cannot get Connection from Datasource: java.sql.SQLException: Listener refused the connection with the following error:
ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor"
The SID of the data base where my work repository lies has been changed. I have updated the new SID in topology with work repository connection JDBC and all the data servers pointing to the DB.I'm able to successfully test connections with agent and no agent. I'm able to connect with ODI studio to the work repository and regenrate my scenario's. Where as during execution with logical agent getting the above error. Why is the agent unable to recognise the change in SID made in topology? Any suggestions would help!!

I have not updated odiparams with the repository details. I have one master and almost 7 work repository repository associated to it. I have congigured only the master and one of the work repository in odiparams rest are not added.
But i haven't faced any issue due to this so far.

  • Error while configuring work repository details in topology Manager

    Hi,
Could anyone pls advice, is it possible creating more than one Master repository connection for the same instance.
When i try to do so, am getting the below error while configuring the work repository details in topology manager.
“A work repository already exists for this connection.
Enter the repository password to declare it in your Master Repository”
I tried with both the new master and work repository password. But no luck.
    Previous Master & work details:
    Master: PCS_MASTER
    Work:PCS_WORKREP
    New Details
    Master: PCS_MASTER_INT
    Work:PCS_WORKREP_INT
    Instance: PCBID
Am trying to create new master repository for PCS_MASTER_INT.

In the same oracle schema you can have only 1 master and 1 work repository. Usually they take 2 schema (1 for each).
If you need 2 master repository you have to use 2 different jdbc path. I'm using a db with several master / work, each repo has got its schema..

  • Conect to Work Repository from Open Tool

    Hello.
I'm developing a new Open Tool plugin, and I would like to know if there's any way to connect to the work repository through ODI Java API.
That's it, I could add JDBC connection parameters to the plugin so the user can put there the driver, the JDBC URL, etc. for connecting to the Repo. But, if it's possible, I'd prefer to connect through some Java functions. Another option would be to add a schema in the Topology for the work repository DB, and read the connection data from it, so the user only had to enter the name given to the schema.
In a few words, my aim is to make user's life easier and make the plugin looks well integrated into the ODI platform.
Also would be great to know about a good advanced Open Tool development tutorial.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Carlos.

  • Odi repository passwords got reset

Our ODI repository passwords got reset(both work and master).
I have used agent encode to encode the master rep password, and changed it in the odiparams file.
I am still unable to login to our production odi-which is execution only.
Is there any other place where we should insert the new password?

Fixed it.Had to login to topology and change the work rep password there.

  • ODI Demo Environment - Work Repository issue

I'm a newbie to ODI, and have downloaded the software and the demo environment (plus instructions). Setup seems to go fine, but when I get to the point where I should connect to the demo environment, I follow the instructions but am unable to type in WORKREP as the Working Repository - the field is greyed out, and I cannot proceed further.
I have started the demo environment using startdemo.bat, and everything else seems OK (or at least doesn't error) aside from this.
Am I correct in saying that the RCU does not need to be run, just to use the Demo Environment?
Please can anyone help? I would like to evaluate the product but have run up against this wall.
    Many thanks,
    Ian

    Hi,
I had similar issue on Windows..
    Solution,
    1) I downloaded jrockit SDK.
    2) Pointed JAVA_HOME to this installation
    3) Extract the demo folder (i.e. under <ODI_HOME> as odidemo)
    Start the agent.
Run ODI enter the details as described in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integrate.1111/e12641/start_odi.htm.
Specify the Oracle Data Integrator connection details as follows:
Login name: Getting Started - ETL Project
    User: SUPERVISOR
    Password: SUNOPSIS
Note that username and password are case sensitive.
Specify the Database Connection (Master Repository) details as follows:
    User: sa
This is the database user ID/login of the schema (database, library) that contains the ODI master repository
    Password: Leave this field empty.
Driver List: Select Hypersonic SQL Driver from the list.
This driver is required to connect to the DBMS supporting the master repository.
Driver Name: org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver [This is different when populated by ODI]
    URL: jdbc:hsqldb:hsql://localhost
         or
jdbc:hsqldb:hsql://<<hostip>>:<port>:<sid> (if you have db installed on different box)

  • ODI Master Repository Password Recovery

    Hi Guys,
I recently took over and ODI environment (10.1.3.6.2) with one master repository and work repository. They are located on an Oracle 10rR2 DB. Here is my problem Noone here knows the password for this schemas. How can I find out what these passwords are without changing them?
I have the encoded master repository password in odiparams file. Is there a DECODE tool to find out what the decoded password is?
As always, all the help you can provide is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Emrah

    Hi,
There is no DECODE functionality available for this purpose.
    You can probably do this
    1. Choose a password for that particular user , say ORACLE
    2. Now goto <ODI_HOME>\bin directory and invoke a command prompt
    3. Encode the password using the following command
agent encode < Password > ie. agent encode ORACLE
    4. Connect to your Master repository schema and check SNP_USER table for
what is the value for I_WUSER for that particular user (as in step 1) .
    5. Update the SNP_USER table using following query.
    UPDATE SNP_USER SET PASS='<ENCODED PASSWORD OBTAINED IN STEP 3>' WHERE I_WUSER=<I_WUSER value obtained in step 4>;
    6. Issue commit ;
Now try to login to ODI designer with the new password .
    Thanks,
    Sutirtha

  • How can I move the ODI Work Repository from one server to another server?

How can I move the ODI Work Repository from one server to another server?

    Hi,
If you would like to move your source models, target models and project contents from Work repository 1 to another work repository.
I.e. Dev. server to Prod Server.
    1. Firstly, replicate the master repository connections i.e. with same naming conventions manually
    2. Go to Dev. Server work repository -> File Tab -> Click on Export work repository (save it in a folder)
    3. After exporting, you can view the xml files in the folders.
    4. Now, Open the Prod. server and make sure you already replicated mas. rep. details.
    5. Now, right click on model and import source model in synonym mode insert_update (select source model from the folder where your xml file located)
    6. Similarily, import again target then Project.
    Now, check. It should work.
    Thank you.
