Hi,
Connect the planning calendar to your lot size key
First, you will need to set up the planning calendar.
Menu path: Production -> MRP -> Master Data -> Planning Calendar (MD25)
You will then need to use this planning calendar (the one you created) in the material master when planning your raw materials (MRP2 View in 4.6C - Field name : Planning Calendar).
1. When you maintain the planning calendar you will need to enter a valid from date and valid to date.
2. Your periods will also need to be set up and they will be weekly, for example:
From Date : 11/23/2001    To Date : 11/29/2001   (11/23 is a Friday, this is your from date).
Do this for as may weeks as you wish (say weekly for 2 years).
3. When you have set up the planning calendar, you will then need to make some changes to the weekly lot size configuration
(WB), or you may need to create a new lot size key if you do not want to change 'WB'. Essentially, you will need to use the
following in the lot size configuration (OMI4) :
    No. of Periods : 1
    LotSizeProced.: P
    LotSize ind : K
    Scheduling : 1

  • Lot size Key without splitting Quota

    Hi,
Can any one explain me what is the use of Lot size Key without splitting Quota.
We had created a lot size Key - XY with following seting:-
    1) Lotsize Proceed = P
    2) Lotsize indicator -K
    3) Scheduling =2
    4) No of periods = 1
    5) Splitting Quota = Not checked(blank)
If we had configured this lot size key, what is the benefits of the above setting, What testing need to be done to know whether this lot size key is working perfectly after configuration?.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
If splitting quota indicator not set, then qouta arrangement is not used during planning wrt to selected lot size.
Lot size procedure you selected, it is a periodic lot sizing procedure. Here the system groups several requirements within a time interval together to form a lot.
Lot size indicator  Determines how the lot size is calculated for a certain lot-sizing procedure during material requirements planning. For your selection system creates lot size by refereing to planning calender defined in the system
    Scheduling -
This indicator defines the time in the period the system is to create the availability date or the start date for the lot for period
    lot-sizing procedures.
The availability date is the date on which the material, including the goods receipt processing time, is available again. In the MRP  list, the  availability date is equal to the MRP date.
In in-house production, the start date is the order start date, in external procurement the start date is the release date.
according to your selection - Availability date at period end
    No of periods - 1
Run a complete MRP cycel  to check whether it is working properly or not.
Post the results what you get.

    Pavan

  • Lot size key HB with a planning calendar

I would like to be able to continue to use lot size key HB (replenish to maximum stock level), but with a planning calendar in order to specify Friday deliveries.  However, the system does not appear to be capable of doing this.  Does anyone know a way around the system limitation?
    Thanks in advance!

I appreciate the suggestions.  I would very much like to use a "Friday" planning calendar, however, if I changed the lot size key to PK - I can no longer replenish to a maximum stock level (unless someone knows of a way to get MRP behavior like lot size key HB but with something like PK).
I also tried using the "Planning cycle" field on the MRP 1 screen, but it appears to require time-phased planning - which again seems to rule out use of Lot size key HB.
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks again,
    Ed

  • Fixed lot size key has no effect on planned orders generated for VC PIRu2019s

    Hello gurus,
does anyone have an idea why the fixed lot size key is not having an effect on the planned orders that are generated for the Planned Independent Requirements (PIR) for MTO configurable materials. My client is using planning strategy 56.
I have copied & customized the Fixed lot size key FX to suit the MTO production (u201CLot size as in short-term periodu201D activated) that works nicely even with configurable materials when a planned order is generated for a sales order. But the planned orders in the preplanning segment, i.e. that were generated for PIR's, are still created equally to the PIR quantity.
Is this behavior an error or an SAP feature? Though, I have reviewed the OSS Note 437098 that might be related to this. Can anyone tell me if it is related to this issue?
    Regards,
    Mikko

    Got the answer fro SAP:
Please consider the following note, which provides the explanation about this behavior of the lot-size, when VSE requirements are used:
    125498 - MRP/Docu: Planning segment and lot-for-lot order quantity
The following section of the note describes your scenario in detail:
"The planned independent requirements for a material are in a separate
planning segment (planning strategy planning without final assembly,
    requirements type VSE, VSEV).
You enter a rounding value or a rounding profile or an lot size that is
not exact in the material master.
    Material Requirements Planning:
In Material Requirements Planning, planned orders are generated for the
planned independent requirements. The lot size settings (such as fixed
lot size or minimum lot size) are also not taken into account."

  • Lot for lot(EX) with minimum lot size

    Hi Experts,
Is it possible to have Ex with minimum lot size. I have a situation where an FG cannot be produced over a certain qty but can be produced in any numbers beyond that. Please explain.
    Regards,
    Sachin

    Hi,
You can use Lot size key EX- lot for Lot order and Minimum lot size as per the requirement. If the lot size is smaller than the Minimum lot size qty procurement proposals will be created for the minimum lot size quantity.
Hope it resolve your issue. Kindly revert for further clarification.

  • Lot size not being generated

    The scenario is as follows:
We have raw material for our internal consumption. for some reason, we have parted with some of the raw material one of the customer/competitor. since we have batch management in our company, we did maintain so. the objective of maintaining batch is to ease the tracing / tracking of the material.
1.material(raw matl - matl type ROH) created. posted goods receipt with movement type 561. batch no. generated.
2 subsequently, sales order created, delivered, billed. accounting doc generated.
3 Further, returns sales doc generated, delivered and posted goods receipt and returned material directly taken into Quality Inspection.
4 Inspection plan generated with inspection characteristics. control key used is "QM01"
Now, system should generate the lot size for the material returned by the customer, which is not happened so far.
Can someone guide as to how to generate the Inspection Lot?

    Hi
Try with this but I am not sure.
In Material Master, select "<b>Quality Management</b>" tab and include Inspection Type <b>05</b> and select "<b>Active</b>".
By doing this, as and when <b>PGR</b> (Post Goods Receipt) is done, the respective stock will go to quality automatically.
    Thanks

  • Lot Size Check at Good Receipt in MIGO

How can I check lot sizes at the point of GR within MIGO? (as oppose to qty tolerances).
Example, if my lot size is 100 and I raise a PO for 100 at the GR is for qty 80 (i.e not a complete lot size, which could mean a split pack) how can I get the system to produce an error message?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
U can use Shipping Instruction which is there in Purchasing Value Key(Purchasig View). Using this while GR u can give some points for Complete supply or Partial Supply.
This is for tracking of partial supply and u can aslo this info. for vendor evaluation..

  • MPS Lot size rounding

    Hi,
    We have following scenario:
    1) FG X with planning strategy 11, MRP Type: M0, Fix Lot Size: 100 Box
    2) PIR entered for FG X for 100 box.
    3) MPS Run
    4) Plan Order of 100 box created
    5) Convert to Production Order and final confirmation of op 10 for 90 box.
    6) Production Order appeared as receipt element as 90 box.
    6) In next MPS Run, Plan Order of 100 box being triggered for the FG X again to cater for the outstanding requirement of 10 box.
The client do not want the Plan Order of 100 boxed to be generated again. the stock initial GR of 90 box is deem to be able to cater for the market. In generak if the requirement is less then the batch size (fix lot size), no plan order should be created.
Appreciate if you have any idea/solution that can overcome the above requirement, kindly share with us..
    Thanks.
    WH. ONG.

    Hi Wan Haur Ong,
Well i gone through with your thread and i am having an idea for your requirement.
As you said that you want only for particularly the the remaining quantity like 10 boxes should have a production., It means only for 10 boxes:
I would like to suggest you there is a funcationality called rework process for that you have to use funcationality called Trigger point for that particular operation:
Please maintain these steps for that operation OK:
First check in Tcode OPJF for the selection id a Priority is defined for the Task list type S with usage 1 and status 4 and then Proceed as follows:
    1. Create a Reference op set in tcode Ca11.
Enter the plant,Description , usage and status for the ref op set Enter lotsize and unit of measure.
Enter the op as 0010 / workcenter/op control key/Description for the op Enter the standard values and save.
    2. Create a Standard trigger point in CO31.(Ex Production)
Enter the Trigger Point usage /Group as FERT.
    3. Tick the Trigger Point Functions.
    4. Enable the indicator create order with Reference.
    5. Enter the system status as PCNF.
    6. Enter change as +.
    7. Enable the indicator once.
8 . Now place the cursor on the create order with reference.
    9. Goto Parameters.
    10. In the Parameter enter in the group the created Reference op set group no.
    11. Order type as PP01 and group counter as 1 and save the Trigger Point.
    12. Now goto the Routing for your Material.
    13. Choose the last op to assign the Trigger point.
    14. Select the OP -
    > Goto ---> Trigger Point overview.
    15. Enter the Trigger Point usage as FERT.
    16. Now choose that line ,select the Details---> Trigger Point f7. The system will says standard trigger point exists from which you can select the created Trigger Point (EXx Production)and save.
    18. MD02/MD04.
    19. Convert the Planned Order into Production Order and Release the order.
    20. Now confirm th ops.
    21. For the last op enter the yield and rework qty and set the status as PCNF.
    22. If the status of last op is PCNF then in the system a POP UP will appear as Activited by Trigger Point /Create order with reference/order number/sequence and op number which trigger point works and enter.
I hope it will helps you, please get back to me if you have any questions OK pop me again.

  • Question on MRP lot size.

    Greetings Gurus
I have a question on running MRP and lot size. We would like to run MRP for our horizon period of 4 months.
Basically, we want SAP to create a single purchase requisition for any requirements that falls within this 4 month period,
But any requirements that fall outside of this, we want SAP to exclude (horizon MRP group set to 4 months)
I am having difficulty making this happen.
I think it may have to do with my lot size definition. Icopied lot size MB and changed the no of periods to 4.
    But when I run MRP (@MD03, Processing key = NETPL, Create PR= 1, DelScd = 3, everything else = 1),
it creates 2 requisitions, one for theimmediate 4 month horizon period, but then it creates another requisition for the next 4 month period.
When I set my lot size to MB, it creates everything within the single 4 month horizon period as I expect, but it breaks it up into
    requisitions by month.
Any advice on how I can accomplish this?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Ken

    Hi Ken,
Txn Code OMI4, make a copy of lot size MB to say Z3 & give a description as required, then change the value of No. of periods to 3 & save. Now you can assign this in your Material Master.
you need copy as Z3 from MB and also assigned to material master (view MRP1), and the short term parameters as per below:
    - No of period = 4
    - Lot size proced = P
    - Lot size ind = M
    - Scheduling = 1, else <blank>

  • Lot size use for splitting req. qty. with Two  vendors

    Hello PP experts,
We have two vendors and we want the each requirement to be split into the two vendor with 30 % for 'A' and 70 % for 'B'.
What are the IMG  and master data setting required for the above scenario?
Please let me know whether can will use lot size 'ES' with splitting quota indicator marked in OMI4.
    Waiting for your reply.
    Regards,
    Mona tiwari

    Hi Mona,
You have to maiantain first quota arrangement (MEQ1) for the two vendors with alloting the percentage to split the Planned orders/PRs in planning run. Apart from this maintain the lot size either EX, FS or ES with split indicator marked in OMI4 for the quota.
Yes, maintain Quota allowed key in MRP (4) either in purchaing view or in MRP2 view as said by Prasobh.
    If helps rewards points.

  • Periodic lot size PR not covering the requirement for the periods

    Dear Experts,
I am using customized monthly lot size size key with Periodic lot size procedure and number of periods 3 months.
The MRP is creating one purchase requisitions for all the requirements for the first month only. The second and third month requirements are not included for the purchase requisition quantity. The second and third month requirements are kept opened without any PR.
The planning harizon is 100 days which is more than 3 months. There is no maximum lot size restrictions. But still why the purchase requisition quantity is not included the second and third month requirements.
    Please give your valuable suggestions.

  • Custom lot size

    Hi Experts,
In a MTO scenario for the FG i have created sale order of 1000, fixed lot size in material master of FG is 100. System has created a plnned order of 1000. I want to divide the planned order into 10 orders as per the batch size (fixed lot size) of 100. Is it possible through custom lot size?
    Regards
    Sm

you can use the Distribution key in production version of the material master
This key Determines the split to be used for dividing the quantities of a planned order or a production order into partial quantities. In so doing, the relationship between time and quantity produced is established.

  • Report for Reorder point, safety stock, current stock and fixed lot size

    Hi,
Purchasing Dept. is looking for a report which can give list of materials falling below the reorder point, so that they can go ahead and create procurement proposals for those materials.
They also want to see the Reorder Point, Safety Stock, current stock and fixed lot size in the same report.
Let me know if there ia any standard report availbale which displays the same or any approach to get the same.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Shankar Goud.

    Hi,
There is no standard report because this is meant to be managed by the MRP run.
The MRP lists show all materials that have a problem (such as stock below reorderpoint) but MRP generates requirements for these anyway and so all you need to do is to look for the MRP generated requirements (requisitions?) and you have your list?
    Are you using MRP?
If so then please use the standard functions in MRP to get this.
    If not, then WHY NOT?

  • Relation between PO Qty and Minimum Lot size of material master

I have maintained "100" in minimum lot size ( MRP1 View, table MARC and field BSTM) for the material.
I am also succssed to create the Purchase order for 2.5 Qty for the same material. '
I wanted to know, how system is allowig to create the PO with lesser qty or is this view is maintained only for sales?
Please give your expert comments on the same.
    Thanks,

Used for claculate the procurement qty during MRP and depends on the lot size procedure you select. quota arrangement also uses this lot size.
