Lots of code clean-up / inclusion paths throwing errors.

I just built a test app and I am getting errors all over the place.
First, every page has an include with the 'virtual' method. IE... virtual('/Connections/conNightclub.php');
I need this to be include ('Connections/conNightclub.php');
I also noticed that some paths to includes have a forward slash and some don't. ie.. require_once ('/includes/mxi/MXI.php'); should be require_once ('includes/mxi/MXI.php')
Then, when I fix them by hand the server behavior panel gets exclamation points next to the transactions.
I hope this is something I forgot to set somewhere...

seems you´re getting this error because
(that´s a rather rare case) PHP has been configured as Apache CGI module on your remote server -- "virtual" won´t work then, means you´ll have to change it to "include" yourself

I have bee receiving following "error code 0x80070035 - The network path was not found" when trying to open file shares in both directions using Windows Server 2008 Standard SP2 at both ends. The issue is identical to the KB article KB958285, however the hotfix is only valid up to but not including SP2. One of the servers in question has moved several times between 2 subnets seperated by a VPN. I have tried changing settings in and around the local NIC/DNS Suffix and in the network connection sharing centre, but with no luck. Firewalls are turned off at both sites, and pings and AD queries are successful (one server is a DC). DNS is also working correctly at both sites. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

I thought I would add in another scenario, since this link came to the top of my list in the search engine.
We are running 2008 R2 with SP1 (it happened without SP1 as well)
We could not map using UNC (IP, FQDN, or netbios name). We could ping access the other servers via other utils like event viewer and services.msc but just could not map.
In our case it turned out to be a VMWARE issue but we still had to make a regedit change first
You have to go to regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\NetworkProvider\Order\
And add LanmanWorkstation to Providerorder
I found on a Citrix board that citrix has an issue with this as well
If you're running VM here is an additional step you should do as well
When you upgrade VMware Tools installed with HGFS from ESX 3.x to ESX 4.x, the HGFS driver may not get uninstalled properly. In this case, the virtual machine's network Provider Order tab in Network Connections
> Advanced > Advanced Settings displays incorrect information and the virtual machine may lose network connectivity.
To avoid this issue, uninstall VMware Tools 3.x before installing VMware Tools 4.x.
To workaround this issue, if you have already upgraded VMware Tools:
Click Start >
Run, type regedit, and click OK. The Registry Editor window opens.
Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\NetworkProvider\Order\.
Delete the reference to
hgfs.
Reboot the virtual machine.
We found that if you strip out the HGFS, you do not have to reboot for the provider order tab to come back

i inherited the website. It’s for a non-profit and is not very
sophisticated, and neither am I in webdesign. It currently has multiple
pages that are identical except for that body section, so whenever i change
the navigation (in the sidebar) I have to update every html page. I want
to have one basic page, and just call in the different body content based
on the link the user selects from the nav bar. How can i do that using a

"Error code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found" while trying to access another PC running Windows 7 Ultimate I searched and read dozens of similiar posts to try to resolve this issue with no success.
The situation is, I have a router in home with 4 PC's connected. My central PC is running Windows 7 Ultimate. The others are Windows 7 Ultimate again, and 2 running XP Pro. No special Firewalls, just have Windows Firewall enabled on all PC's, and am running KasperskyInternetSecurity2010 on all. (Have disabled these on all PC's and tried to view/connect and it didnt make a difference, same error)
Fact one: not attempting a Homegroup connection at all, just simply wishing to connect in a basic network environment where I can drag and drop files between all PC's in my Home Network or in my house , however its considered. But on the Windows 7 I am unable to view either of the XP's only the other Win7, and when I try to access that one is when I get the "Error code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found".
Furthermore, while troubleshooting the problem I opened a Command Prompt in all computers, then an "ipconfig" to view each ip address. Then began to ping each machine to determin connectivity. Which resulted in partial success. My main Win7 machine (which i am on now) was able to ping successfully to all machines. But all other machines were unable to ping to me (main Win7). with a 100% loss.
So at least I determined this is most likely a helpful fact in resolving this. Going into "services.msc" I made sure that all the obvious services are started and running:
DCHP Client, Homegroup Listener, Homegroup Provider, Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper, NetTcp Port SHaring Service, Network Connections, Network List Service, Network Location Awareness, TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
All strarted and running in Automactic mode.
Not sure what other information I can give at this point, to help assist in fixing this problem. Please dont hesitate to ask for me for more info if needed. Ready and willing to try anything to get this working, except for reinstalling the OS. All my programs work great and do not wish to go through the drama ao reinstalling all my programs and activating them and redoing all my Adobe settings and CAD settings.

Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP:
1.    Go to “Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections”.
2.    Right-Click on the connection and choose Properties.
3.    Click “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Version 4” in the list.
4.    Click Properties, and then click Advanced.
5.    On the Advanced TCP/IP settings windows, go to “WINS” tab.
6.    Under NetBIOS setting, click “Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP”, and then click OK.

Windows 7 Backup "The System cannot find the path specified" - Error Code 0x80070003

I'm having severe problems backing up my own machine to a share on our
FILE-SERVER as \\FILE-SERVER\Backup\
I have already backed up another PC successfully using exactly the same settings I have used on my own PC. So I presume it is nothing to do with the
FILE-SERVER or the Backup settings. It has to be something to do with what I'm trying to backup from my machine.
First some background.
This exercise all began when the Windows Server 2008 r2
O/S fell over on one of our Servers. I tried reinstalling the O/S several times, without success. In the end I grabbed another drive and re-built the O/S. I then had problems promoting it to a Domain Controller on the network.
In the end I renamed the Server from FILESERVER
to FILE-SERVER.
We routinely share four folders on what is now
FILE-SERVER:
\\FILE-SERVER\Backup
- a Folder where backups from all other machines are written, so that they will be backed up with the Server
\\FILE-SERVER\Company
- holds all our Company data
\\FILE-SERVER\GEM
- this is the application folder for our own database
\\FILE-SERVER\Install
- holds all Install files for the software we use
These are all held on a RAID 1 Array that is separate from the System Disk that fell over.
Prior to the Server falling over, I had Backup working fine on my machine.
On my Notebook PC I had made these shared folders 'Available Offline', so that I still had everything available to me when I was out of the office. They were
of course shared as \\FILESERVER\... not \\FILE-SERVER\...
Having got the Server up and going again, I began to get the Backups from the Windows 7 Client PC's going again.
I started with a Desktop, which of course did not have any Offline Files.
That proved relatively straight-forward.
I then started with my machine. Initially I did not make the above shared folders 'Available Offline'. I set up my Backup using exactly the same settings that
had worked OK on the desktop machine. But when I ran the backup I got:
The System cannot find the path specified, Error Code 0x80070003
I tried all sorts of things to get it to work:
I restored the system to the earliest point possible,
I ran chkdsk,
I defragged the drive
All to no avail, so I tried backing up:
with and without a system image,
reducing the backup to a single folder,
a single Folder with only one .txt file in it,
making the Folders 'Available Offline' again.
Nothing made any difference.
In the end I looked in the Sync Center to look at the Offline Files Folder.
Under Mapped Network Drives I discovered I still had the Files and Folders from
\\FILESERVER. In their Shortcut Menu 'Always Available Offline' was greyed out. So I deleted the Offline Copies. This deleted the Files in the Folders but not the Folders.
Since I could find no way of deleting the old Mapped Network Drives, I decided I'd painted myself into a corner by renaming the Server.
So I bit the bullet and re-installed my Notebook too. This did get rid of the unwanted old Mapped Network Drives - BUT NOT THE ERROR!!

It had none of the symptoms reported in

but I scanned for ‘reparse’ points anyway. Found several “Junction Points” but none that were “Mounted Volumes”, just ordinary ‘File Folders’.
Method 2
Check a drive for errors.
Looked at:

Checked
both boxes. I closed machine down, to check for errors when it re-started.
It didn’t seem to find anything.
I say seem, because I did not actually see it finishing checking the empty space, but stages 1-4 found no problems and Windows 7 restarted normally.
It did detect 66 ‘Reparse’ Points, which is more than it found when I scanned for them earlier.
Method 3
Yes, I am an administrator or my own machine and, as such, I have ‘Full Access’.
I downloaded an ran the Process Monitor, filtering for Process Name “Wbengine.exe”, but did dot get a single event.
So I’m not sure what’s going on.

I am having the exact same problem with Windows 7 Professional. Out of the blue, this issue just started a few months ago when running my monthly Windows Backup where I have used a USB drive for the last 3 years, and never ever had this issue before. Most
of the solutions listed on the Microsoft websites and answers deal with
"Restore" functions, not the
"Backup" itself. I have 3 folders being skipped during the backup.
So I went and changed the Backup from "let Microsoft choose files, directories, etc" to "Let me choose". I included the files and folders that were being skipped, and ran the "Backup" again, and got the same error message,
but the files that were skipped the first time were "Backed up" finally. This issue is somehow related to my "Libraries"?
The 3 backup problems are:

Did a "checkdisk" - no problems. Ran a program to fix registry - no problems. All updates up to date. I guess I could eliminate these folders from the Backup folders in the
Library, and just choose them under the "Users" locations, and be done with it. But I really want to understand this, and fix it. This is within Windows 7 and may be related to Windows Media Player or
some recent Windows update. Thanks.

Apply trace on RAS and look for errors in the RAS logs at the same timestamp.
These errors come for various errors and tracing RAS would give us a better idea.
It might hapen that you observe these errors for reports which takes more than the RAS timeout to export the reports.
Post getting the RAS logs you can try below steps if we see timeout errors in RAS logs.
Copy clientSDKOptions.xml file from <BO install path>\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\java\lib to the machine where your app is running Open clientSDKOptions.xml and change CORBARequestTimeOut from 600000 to a value large enough to allow the report to render, for instance 1200000. Default value is 600000 (10 minutes)
Specify the location of the clientSDKOptions.xml file at run-time. In your JSP or Java files, use the Java method setProperty from the System class. Set the system property indicated by the ras.config key to the specified directory as: system.setProperty("ras.config","c:\temp"). This function call specifies that the clientSDKOptions.xml file in c:\temp is to be used for locating RAS servers.

Custom code throws error with email subscription. Otherwise, the report works fine.

I have a SSRS report that parses RTF to TXT and displays it in a report. The report works fine and everything displays correctly. The subscription email, however, contains a report with errors: Request for the permission of type
'System.Security.Permissions.UIPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.
The report contains embedded code as well as references to System.Security and System.Windows.Forms. I've updated .....\Reporting Services\ReportServer\rssrvpolicy.config and ....\Reporting Services\ReportManager\rsmgrpolicy.config to change permissions
to FullTrust. Not sure what else I need to do. Please help.

According to your description, if the report contains custom code and assemblies, the subscription email contains an error “Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.UIPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'
failed”.
In your scenario, the issue could cause by that the report can’t access those assemblies. Please modify the policy configuration files to grant additional permissions for those assemblies. For more information, please refer to this article:

Greetings,
I am a java developer, I have been so for the past 9 years. Whenever I have time on my hands, I develop applications just for fun. I have a lot of code written and would like to share all of it. Which place is the best to post all this code and application? It would be great, if a particular piece of code can be tagged with labels. For example, I developed this puzzle game... I would like to tag it with labels like "Swing, Images Manipulation" and so on and so forth. The tags essentially will make it easier for other developers to fetch code according to tags and look up stuff.

Hi,
As per the error logs it seems you have the Form element twice in your web config file. Just take one or the other one out. if you did any changes in web. config file please share and elaborate little more about the changes if you have made recently before
the error.

ColdFusion 11 Throws Error Session Variable Undefined, When in fact it is Defined as shown by CFDump.

I've been having a particularly annoying error with ColdFusion 11, and unable to track down the source of this problem.
Basically There are a few variables defined in the session scope we check with isdefined a few lines above to make sure they are defined. Subsequent lines may or may not throw a #variablename# is undefined on random lines.
What can I do to fix this issue? Is this a known bug?

I am doing isDefined checks for relevant variables when neccessary. The problem is not that the code errors out undefined ... it's that the variable is actually defined and errors out undefined.
As a simplified example;
Login.cfm Form supplies form.username and form.password to login_action.cfm then redirects to index.cfm after succesful LDAP authentication. I will not include all lines as it would be too long.

in the wwwroot the Application.cfm handles all errors generated during rendering of the page, which includes generating a cfdump of the session scope.
When I get the Error Log I can see in the cfcatch cfdump the error... Element USER.EMAIL UnDefined in SESSION.

What is causing this strange and irratic behaviour? The problem is so far I cannot replicate the issue. It is intermittant. The issue only started after upgrading to ColdFusion 11. This code has worked flawlessly for years on CF8.

Upgraded to Windows 8.1. Cannot install Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium. Get Error Code 7 and pages of other errors. Found nothing with Google or these Forums

Do you actually mean Exit Code 7?
What are the other actual errors you're seeing?
     --Some of the other errors may be ones people here are familiar with
When do they occur?
    --Is the installation failing, or is the program throwing errors while attempting to start up?
Are you installing from disks or from a download?
     --Downloads can come down to your machine corrupt and may require deletion/redownload
Is W8 installing with XP compatibility enabled?
     --DWCS5 is old compared to Windows8, if XP Compatibility isn't kicking in by default, you'll need to fix that
Do you have any anti-virus programs running while trying to install?
     --Turn them off
Running the cleaner tool before attempting a new install may work...

Details: Added logic in Consumer such that when the Consumer is connected over a non-realtime channel (i.e. non-polling and non-streaming channel), a warning is logged to let the user know that channel is not going to automatically receive updates via client poll or server push. We can't really throw an error here because one might want to disable channel polling and manually send poll requests when needed and this is a valid configuration as well.

but i solved it some other way... not entirely sure this was

I speak some bash, but no AppleScript.
On the Apple Developer Center they write you a little script to enable PHP, which failed repeatedly before numerous edits by me. I eventually massaged the script to work, but I want to understand *why* the script didn't work.

Here are where this code throws errors for me:
First:
set admin_email to (do shell script "defaults read AddressBookMe ExistingEmailAddress")
I don't even recognize the shell syntax that this would work in. It's sort of csh like. Is this AppleScript?
Anyway, OS X bash chokes on this at the first '(' and I changed it to:
admin_email=`defaults read AddressBookMe ExistingEmailAddress`
which works just fine.
Second:
chmod a+r $user_index
I have no idea how his is supposed to work without 'touch $user_index'
I added:
touch $user_index
to the script.
Third:
conf=`apachectl -V | awk -F= '/SERVER_CONFIG/ {print \$2}'| sed 's/"//g'`
Okay, this actually *works*, but I don't know why it should. In my book, it should choke on the \$2, because the \ is invalid.
I've left it because it works and if it works it isn't wrong, but I would have written:
conf=`apachectl -V | awk -F= '/SERVER_CONFIG_FILE/ {print $2}' | sed 's/"//g'`
which I've tested and also works.
I'd like to know why Apple's first line works.
Fourth:
sed '/#LoadModule php5_module/s/#LoadModule/LoadModule/' $conf | sed "s^[email protected]^\$admin_email^" > $conf_new
The error here is that:
sed "s^[email protected]^\$admin_email^"
doesn't replace [email protected] with the contents of $admin_email.
I don't know what the and are supposed to do, but this just replaces the string '[email protected]' with the string '\$admin_email'
I replaced this with:
sed 's^[email protected]^'$admin_email'^'
This gives me a final script of:

But I'm still confused - why did ADC have a code snippet that could have never worked? Or am I missing something obvious?

Hey, RanjeetJones!
You're probably right - it's a lot of code to uncomment a line and change the administrator setting.
And the first time I set up PHP, I just found and edited the config file.
But the script had me so confounded I went back to troubleshoot it and got all wrapped up in why it ended up that way.
And this will help the next coder who wants to learn PHP and maybe doesn't speak bash.

Dave had given you already some good advice.
Your code is not only too complicated, but you have also probably a bug in it. You have for instance a QNstart as to_date('01.01, 'dd.mm') and a corresponding QNfinish as to_date('31.03', 'dd.mm'). As this means, it is the time portion at 00:01, you are missing the complete last day of this interval. So you better do:

Throwing error message for a component

I have a form in which there are several fields. One of field is LOV for which i do some validation on valuechangeListener. If that validation fails, i send error to the form for that particular field. It is working fine. but after this if user submits the form, it is submitted. In case of validation failed by framewrok, it is not submitted. HOw i can set that component in error state so that form is not submitted. I am using following code to throw error or component:

actually you are not throwing an error but set a message to display to the user. Can't you just create a validation for the input field. The field has a property for you to define a managed bean validation reference. You can generate the method skeleton from JDeveloper.
