Lots of crashes with my newish system

Question

In June I upgraded my PC and since then Ive been getting crashes, freezes and the odd reset , bsod. My main 3D application XSI version 5 crashes continioulsy and thus i have to revert back to 4.2. I also get resets when playing games and ive had right few desktop freezes when opening Thunderbird mail client.
Heres my sytem specs :
amd 64 3500 proc
1024 DDr 400
Msi Neo Platium 2 mobo
Nvidia 6600 256mb passive cooled gfx card
logitech mx700 wireless mouse
8x4 graphics tablet.
I thought it was the gfx card being passive and over heating, so i installed a 120mm fn directly infront of the card to cool it and i still got crashes. Also my DDR400 1024 is only showing on boot up an don CPUz as single channel. Ive installed them in the green slots on my mobo.. I thought they would be showing as dual channel...

Please make a sig (like what you see @ the bottem of most posts) and inform us what PSU you are using, with rails
Indeed it mite be the problem (PSU). I have a 380W that runs my system fine

Check that the system is stable with prime95, memtest86 etc and temps via speedfan.
Did you try a full format and re-installing your O/S, then running your crashing programs to see if the problem continue. With just the basic's drivers and no other programs.  As if the last version would run some other program may be the root of a conflict with V-5.
