Lots of errors on Rebuild

Question

I'm making some last ditch attempts to get things working, before ditching Aperture. In a bid to fix my busted stacks and albums, I tried a Rebuild yesterday. That completed, but popped up a 'there are inconsistencies' errors at least a dozen times. I tried removing Previews, and then reran the rebuild again, but again the errors kept appearing.
I was an early adopter of the exclusion of the Aperture Library from Time Machine, so I don't think using TM should be an issue.
Unless I can rely on Aperture to store my images, and output them reliably, then it has become an expensive white elephant for me.

Well, I'm getting somewhere!
One of the Apple guys is having a look at a small test Library to see what's up. In the meantime, I've done some more testing, and it looks like it's just affecting my Albums. This would confirm my other thread regarding erratic album behaviour, where I cannot empty an album.
I have now removed all my extraneous albums, ones I was using to keep collections of different types of images, and some temporary working areas I had (these were mostly redundant anyway). I left all the albums inside projects though. My structure is one of blue folders for different sources (such as scanner, DSLR and compact cameras), then a project for each year that I import them, and then in the projects a set of albums for each job. These albums seem to mostly be OK, but the ones I stored outside of projects were the ones giving me the major headaches.
Once the external albums were removed, the rebuild came up with just a single error message. However, I noticed that a lot of the albums inside the projects were missing. Clicking on the brown project icon caused each project to rebuild manually, and recreated the albums. This again popped up some more of the 'inconsistency' errors, and some of the albums failed to rebuild.
It looks like my images are all intact though, it's just the album references that seem to be the problem.
