Lots of invisible mails in Outbox
Hi,
This is probably the wrong forum because it's an Exchange 2007 server I'm using, but it's definitely an Outlook related problem, so I didn't know where else to put it.
A user was getting messages to say his mailbox was full and eventually couldn't send. He rang for help because he couldn't see where to trim the mailbox down. The server database limit for his mailbox was 500MB, but Outlook was only showing around 100MB
of mails. I moved his mailbox to a bigger size database (2GB) so he could get on with sending mails. I noticed while the mailbox was moving, there were thousands of mails in his Outbox folder! The bigger mailbox allowance cured his immediate "can't send"
problem, but I double checked in Outlook and there was nothing in his Outbox. Outlook still says around 100MB in "Folder Size", server says just over 500MB.
How do I purge the mails from his Outbox? And I am concerned that they might all get sent again, I definitely don't want that to happen!
Kind Regards,
Steve
Steve
Hi Steve,
Please confirm if there are so many messages in Outbox folder in OWA and Outlook Online mode. If thousands of mails are shown in OWA/Online mode but not in Outlook Cached mode, please create a new Outlook profile to have a try.
Please check the messages in Outbox folder, we can delete some messages which are not necessary (such as messages in Deleted Items folder) in full mailbox. Or we can set higher mailbox quota for this specific mailbox by running the following command:
Set-Mailbox UserA -ProhibitSendQuota 2097152 -ProhibitSendReceiveQuota 2411520 -IssueWarningQuota 1991680

Messages Stuck in Mail App Outbox
I have an iphone 4S with IOS 6.1.3. I use the Gmail app with no issues to send and receive messages. However, when I attempt to send mail attachments directly from the phone's voice memos or camera roll functions, the messages get stuck in the Mail app outbox. I receive no warning that there is an error when sending these messages, they just never send and I find them sitting in the outbox. I've tried resending from the outbox with no luck.
For camera roll pictures, I've gotten around the problem by composing a message in Gmail and then browse and attach the photos to the e-mail. I don't think there is a similar solution for voice memos. The only options within voice memos is to either directly e-mail or text the memos (but e-mail isn't working). I don't see a way to save the memo and attach them like pictures as I can do in Gmail.
I would love to be able to actually send emails directly from voice memo and/or camera roll, but I'm also open to work-arounds.I've been having similar issues with my iPhone 5 and the latest iOS version. I read somewhere else about an issue with having Exchange and Imap in use with Mail being an issue. I had both, but had my Exchange connection to Gmail off. I was still having the issue.
The solution that worked was to delete my Exchange Gmail account. Now, emails are being sent immediately. If you have Exchange and Imap Gmail accounts on your iPhone, pick one and delete the other. Good luck. -

OSX Mail won't send mail from outbox
Hi.
I'm having a problem with Mail not sending messages from my out box. Everytime I compose a new message, it ends up in the outbox. I used the connection doctor and my pop and smtp connection is fine. I tried deleting some of my old email messages. I've repaired permissions, ran Diskwarrior even move my old email from a holding folder, deleting the old mail account, created a new account, transfered the old email back into the new account. It still doesn't send email from the out box. I know my pref settings are correct because I also have a G-4 desktop running the same OS and it sends mail just fine. I'm stumped.
Any info will be of great help.If no error message is provided, the Outbox mailbox may have some corruption.
With the Mail.app quit and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > Mailboxes > Outbox.mbox.
The Outbox.mbox folder represents Out in the mailboxes drawer which appears only when a message cannot be sent and is shared by all accounts.
Delete the Outbox.mbox folder and empty the Trash. This will delete any messages contained in the Outbox mailbox so before doing so, you need to move any messages contained in the Outbox mailbox to the account's Drafts mailbox.
Launch Mail and a new Outbox.mbox folder will be created automatically by Mail within the Mailboxes folder. -

My mail.app got stuck while accessing mails in outbox. I was using ipad 3.Any advice?
Okay, I figured this out.
A podcast in iTunes was not downloading.
Apparently, ios5 will only download one thing at a time and so it sets up a queue that must include all and any downloads: apps, songs, podcast, all of it. So, a tip to anyone with this problem look through all apps that have a queue of downloading items and clear them till you can get your system running again. -
[Solved]Make Evolution put mail in outbox
Hi,
Right now when I want to send a message in Evolution it is sent right away. The problem is that I often have several big attachments to send and I would like Evolution to put mail in outbox when I click send, or at least to have a command "send to outbox". I tried to click on "work offline" but it sends my mail anyway. I looked for this option in Evolution's help, as well as in forums and Google, and couldn't find anything. Does anyone have a clue at how I can do this?
Thanks in advance.

Since my recent upgrade to safari 4.0.5 I am getting LOTS of junk mail. Prior to this upgrade it was rare to receive any junk mail.
Wonder if anyone else has seen a similar problem and if so have you found a solution for eliminating it?
Thanks.Same here, as others have stated, I have never gotten more than 5 pieces of junk mail in the last 2 years.
I keep this account clean and never disclose my address beyond friends/coworkers (one of the reasons I bear the unbearable $100 a year; a solid email system with robust spam filters).
Today, when .Mac came back up, about 5 spams were already there and more have been appearing since then. All of them have the same attachment.
I seriously think someone has broken into .Mac. Maybe that was the reason for that total outage. http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20051121132930491
If possible, please post examples or experiences. This concerns me as another reader stated that people in his Address Book were Cc:ed on some of the spam he got.
The below spam had an attachedment called "Mail.zip (54.2 KB)".
My Example:
From: [email protected]
Subject: smtp mail failed
Date: November 21, 2005 6:55:10 PM EST

Kind Regards,
SteveHi Steve,
From your description, it is recommended to use Online mode and Outlook safe mode to determine whether the issue is related to add-ins. What's more, if these messages are unnecessary, you can use MFCMAPI tool to delete these emails.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

I tried deleting the outbox from home/library/mail but no luck, internet works fine, mail recieves fine. from .mac website mail will send... but it won't send from my mail program. keep getting message "the connection to the server on"smpt.mac.com" on port 25 timed out." what else can I do?
Who is your ISP used for connecting to the internet?
This indicates your ISP is blocking the use of SMTP servers outside of their network on Port 25.
Most, if not all ISPs have restrictions on the use of SMTP servers outside of their network on Port 25. Some ISPs allow the use of an authenticated SMTP server only that is outside of their network (such as the .Mac SMTP server) but some block its use regardless. These restrictions are part of an overall effort to prevent or reduce spam emanating from the ISP's domain.
Try changing the Port used by the .Mac SMTP server from 25 to 587. Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for your .Mac account preferences at the SMTP server selection, select the Server Settings button below. Enter 587 in place of 25 in the Server Port field. When finished, select OK to save the changed setting.
If this doesn't work, select/use your ISP's SMTP server to send mail with your .Mac account which is invisible to all recipients. -
Office 2013 is saving sent mail in outbox with 0 bytes.
E mails are going and coming in outlook 2013 in IMAP configuration. but even after a mail is gone, that mails stuck in outbox with 0 bytes in size.
Hi,
Would you please provide more information so that we can resolve the problem more efficiently?
Does the recipient receive the emails?
Can you find the email in your Sent Items folder?
Meanwhile, please try the following troubleshoot steps:
1. Start Outlook in safe mode to check if this issue was caused by problematic add-ins. Press Windows Key + R, type
outlook.exe /safe in the Run command and press Enter.
2. Temporarily turn off your anti-virus and other security programs, make sure mail scanning in these security software is disabled. Then check the issue again.
3. Run a repair of your Outlook data file to check the result:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/repair-outlook-data-files-pst-and-ost-HA102749454.aspx
More troubleshooting steps, please refer to the following article:

I'm having trouble with Mail. Sometimes I click on reply to a message and the original message text disappears - rather frustrating when I'm trying to answer someone's questions. But its not a setting I've chosen - most of the time the original message text is there.
Now it's got worse - some messages are hidden I know not where. I searched for an email I knew had been sent... when I used one word of the subject spotlight found nothing but when I used the other it found the email. But when I clicked on it nothing came up - it appeared to be empty. Also it is mysteriously blank in the 'Mailbox' column. Same problem for all my emails from this person - someone in my address book, not blacklisted. Are these mails in limbo somewhere?
Really hope someone can help with this...
Thanks!I'm experiencing this too... it seems sporadic
Sending out of the office to a different email client seems to work OK
Sending to others on our own network who also use Macs with Apple Mail seems to cause a problem.
The subject line of the emails I send is OK
The body of the email is invisible
My colleague that received the invisible content was able to view it - by replying to it, the content displayed in the body of the reply email
Anyone any ideas?
I had so many problems using MS Outlook 2011 that I decided to ditch it
In favour of Apple Mail
It seemed universally recommended as the best alternative
I like the stability of Apple Mail
Only now I'm now wondering if I made a big mistake -

Wondering how these mails exist in tcp_local queue wherein none of IPs (or users) allowed to relay through our servers.
Pl help me resolve this issue.
TIA
PrvnThanks Shane.
Pl find my below answers:
Hi,
You need to track down the source of the emails by
locating the relevant mail.log lines that correspond
to the email delivery attempt. This will at least
tell you how they are getting in (whether the email
is coming in via the
tcp_local/tcp_auth/tcp_submit/tcp_intranet channel
etc.).07-Sep-2007 19:13:44.02 tcp_auth tcp_local EA 3 [email protected] rfc822;[email protected] [email protected] User ([210.70.82.129])

>
From there you can determine (if you have enough
logging enabled such as LOG_USERNAME=1,
LOG_CONNECTION=1, LOG_MESSAGE_ID=1) why they emails
are being allowed through... After enabling the three parameters (option.dat and did cnbuild/restart),
i noticed lot of such entries in mail.log_current:
10-Sep-2007 00:04:28.59 tcp_local Q 2 [email protected] rfc822;[email protected] [email protected] <0JO400CPG2A15F00@webmail.<our-domain>.com> *admin@<our-domain>.com mailin.binghamton.edu dns;mailin.binghamton.edu (TCP|192.168.1.41|34548|128.226.7.23|25) (mail2.binghamton.edu ESMTP [7e5e6797de0c707331914caad1b54f2f]) smtp;450 <[email protected]>: Sender address rejected: Domain not found [email protected]: smtp;450 <alert@bancamerica.
I have seen cases of:
-> Incorrect mapping rules (so tcp_local->tcp_local
relaying was broken)
-> Overly large 'internal' IP mappings (so
tcp_intranet was the source channel)My Mappings file:

Not exactly 'Invisible Mail' problem
For the past two weeks, I have been receiving mail from several people that have 'empty' messages. I can access the content of the email from any other source, just not Mail.
I can see the email has arrived in Mail, it shows the sender, time, etc - all information is there - except the message itself (this is apparently not the same as the 'invisible email' issue others have had with SPAM mail - these are legitimate senders). If it is a forwarded message, the forwarded part is there - but the message directly from the sender is missing.
I assumed this was just a random problem from one sender who was maybe using some updated software that wasn't compatible with Mail, but every day more and more of my senders emails are coming across this way.
I can see the messages on my iPhone mail client - but not my Laptop Mail client.
I think this may have started occurring after the last software update.
Does anyone else have this problem?... solution?
Thanks!!... Jeff>
