Lots of Spam!

Hello to all, and thanks in advance for any help I may receive!
I can truly say that my new 9630 Tour is the best cellphone I have ever had. It has "almost" replaced my home computer. What few problems I have, I am "learning" my way out of; except one . . .
I get all my business and personal e-mail forwarded to my BB from the same e-mail addresses that go to my computer. Here are a few problems I am having:
1> I get some e-mail on my BB that I do not get on my home computer, even though the e-mail addresses are the same.
2> I get lots of spam on my BB that I do not get on my home computer; again, same e-mail addresses. I get spam on my BB that I have never asked for, and have a difficult time getting "unsubscribed" to these unwanted e-mails. I do not get this spam on my computer.
Thanks for any help . . .

speed, Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.
It appears you are filtering your spam at the PC/desktop level. You need to set your spam filters at your email server level so as to filter/stop the spam BEFORE it hits your PC and BlackBerry.
Now, it appears the spam is filtered in your Outlook, maybe? But since it is not filtered at the server level, it is also pushed to your BlackBerry.

Hi, I have a problem that I receive lots of Spam messages from my office, I cannot bar the spam text from service provider due to official constrain.
I just want to know if there is any mechanisme where i can bar the message from a specific sender. I know there are some apps like Iblacklist available but we do not find it in any Iphone which is not jailbreak. I was just thinking of developing some code for it.

No. You can't. Filtering would have to be done at the server level.

  • I am getting lots of spam and dont know what settings to use

    Hi All
I am not the greatest on my Mac but I am getting a lot of spam and not sure what settings I should apply to try and reduce the amount of spam I receive.
    Kind Regards

Whatever email client you are using, the spam settings are always found in the client's Preferences.  Some say Junk Mail while other may say Spam.

  • I get a lot of spam on my old mobileMe-alias. How do I delete that old .me adress?

I am using my iCloud-account, but still I get a lot of spam to my old MobileMe-alias. How do I delete the adress? (They don´t show up in iCloud)

[email protected] and [email protected] are the same thing - you can't actually delete the @me.com version.
However you can deal with the problem by setting up a Rule to move all messages address to the @me.com address to the Trash, from which they will automatically be deleted after a week, so you won't even see them.
Go to the Mail page at http://icloud.com ; click the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Rules'.

  • Lots of spam after UPN change

In preparation for a move from premises based Exchange 2010 to Office365 we recently started to change our UPNs from local domain to external domain (i.e. change UPNs from mycompany.local to mycompany.co.uk).
About 24 hours after the change our email users started receiving lots of spam.
What could be the cause of this?

    Hi,
Does the issue happen to all users? Please confirm if the spam message is send from internal or external users.
Please check the SCLJunkThreshold parameter configured in your organization. We can refer to the following article to set Anti-Spam to your mailboxes:

  • Anyone receivig a lot more spam in the last few days?

I've been getting 5-10 spam messages a day whereas a week ago I would only get a one or two every few days.  Has there been an increase in spam from new botnets?  My customers are also receving a lot more spam than normal.  CASE has been updated to the latest and we continue to send the emails to [email protected] but we continue to get them.  If this is just due to more spam worldwide and the ESA can only catch so much then that's fine, but if anyone has any suggestions that can resolve this, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Danny

    Hello Danny,
In regards to your spam issue, normally to diagnose why emails are passing the system when you open a case with us; if you could get the actual spam emails where all original headers are available, or to send them to [email protected] as submissions where the automated system will review, but in instances where the emails are still passing.
Once the case is opened, provide us the date and time you sent said submissions and we'll escalate it.
A larger sample size is always best as well if you're able to provide.
It is also important to ensure that you also have the message tracking reflecting these emails ready for us to verify the mail flow to ensure it was not bypassing anything and such.
    I hope this helps.
    Matthew

  • Lots of spams , seems like lousy safety

Been using one of my old ( 2007 ) mail account as Microsoft ID ever since those days , never got spams as the account isn´t officially published anywhere.
Now, with the demand to sign in to Skype with the MS ID a couple of things have happened.
Getting Skype contact requests from unknown happens daily.
My ( secret.. ? ) mail account is getting lots of spams.
Real lousy security , I really don´t like it , very dissapointed

What's under there is a fan, and I suspect that's what you are hearing. Your hard drive is in the right front corner of the machine.

  • Lot of SPAM mails in queue - Warnings from ISP

    Hi Jay,Shane and ALL,
We are running messaging on Solaris 10 with below version.
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-7.05 (built Sep 5 2006)
    libimta.so 6.2-7.05 (built 12:18:44, Sep 5 2006)
Insured that no entries added to mappings (except localhost) and only "authenticated SMTP" allowed.
We implemented Separate AV/anti-spam box with aliasdetour and conversion channel which is working fine.
we could achieve >95% spam control but recently we started receiving warnings from ISP that SPAM being sent out from our mail server.

Wondering how these mails exist in tcp_local queue wherein none of IPs (or users) allowed to relay through our servers.
Pl help me resolve this issue.

    Thanks Shane.
    Pl find my below answers:
    Hi,
You need to track down the source of the emails by
locating the relevant mail.log lines that correspond
to the email delivery attempt. This will at least
tell you how they are getting in (whether the email
    is coming in via the
    tcp_local/tcp_auth/tcp_submit/tcp_intranet channel
    etc.).07-Sep-2007 19:13:44.02 tcp_auth tcp_local EA 3 [email protected] rfc822;[email protected] [email protected] User ([210.70.82.129])

    >
From there you can determine (if you have enough
    logging enabled such as LOG_USERNAME=1,
    LOG_CONNECTION=1, LOG_MESSAGE_ID=1) why they emails
are being allowed through... After enabling the three parameters (option.dat and did cnbuild/restart),
i noticed lot of such entries in mail.log_current:
    10-Sep-2007 00:04:28.59 tcp_local Q 2 [email protected] rfc822;[email protected] [email protected] <0JO400CPG2A15F00@webmail.<our-domain>.com> *admin@<our-domain>.com mailin.binghamton.edu dns;mailin.binghamton.edu (TCP|192.168.1.41|34548|128.226.7.23|25) (mail2.binghamton.edu ESMTP [7e5e6797de0c707331914caad1b54f2f]) smtp;450 <[email protected]>: Sender address rejected: Domain not found [email protected]: smtp;450 <alert@bancamerica.

  • Mail-enabled Public Folder Gets lots of spam.

    hello all,
i don't know if this is to be expect but a public folder that we use is currently (has always) been receiving a large amount of spam emails, i can get some details about the public folder via powershell but i wondered if there was any way of cutting down
on the amount of spam that it receives.
i am guessing the settings for this being a public folder differ from those of a standard mailbox, but still are there any settings that allow me to set SCL reject / quarantine levels on a public folder?
    Many Thanks

    Hi,
As a workaround for this issue, you can create a transport rule to delete these spam which is added header "ESET SPAM DETECTED".

  • HT4759 I'm getting a lot of spam in my icloud account and would like to change my icloud email address, how can I do this?

After having a mac.com email for nearly 10 years I fell for a scam email and now am getting spammed daily in my email account.  I use this email account for everything and would like to either block the spam emails - although that's hard since they change their email address daily - or just get a new icloud email address.  I've researched this and have not found this easy.  Any suggestions on how to change my icloud email account? Keep in mind all my devices are connected through this email including iTunes.  Any help is appreciated - thanks!

To get a new iCloud address you would have to create a new iCloud account and migrate your iCloud data to the new account.  If you want to do this, go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, and when prompted about what to do with the iCloud data choose Keep on [My iDevice].  Then set up a new iCloud account with a new ID, turn you iCloud data syncing back to On, and when prompted choose Merge to upload your data to the new account.  When you turn Mail to On you will get a new @icloud email address (@mac and @me addresses are no longer available).  Once your data is in the new account, you can just delete the old account from your other devices without saving the data on the device, then sign into the new one and the migrated data in the new account will be synced back to them.
If you need to, you can change your iTunes ID to this new email address.  This guide explains how to change an Apple ID name, but you can follow this and edit the primary email address instead to change it: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40.

  • Suddenly getting a lot of SPAM but header shows SCL of -1?

I have Exchange 2010 with Forefront Protection for Exchange installed on the same box. About two weeks ago, I suddenly began getting a ton of spam messages and many users reporting an increase in junk mail. I started to research and found the SCL in the
headers is being set to -1 and allowing these mails through. I have 2 receive connectors configured. One is for external mails and the other is for internal things like copiers and it's secured by those particular IP addresses. I need to get this fixed
so any help is greatly appreciated. Below are a few of the headers from spam mails.

  • I have lots of spam from firefox in my screen

So many spam right/left everyside of my screen since I've updated mozzila. (Google chrome I have no problems)
Also I cannot open video's anymore (online) with mozilla

That sort of problem is more to do with the sites you visit and any adware that you may have on your computer.
    Consider installing adblockers &/or scriptblockers.
Does the spam appear on all sites including this forum ? If so you have some form of malware
*see [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]]
and scan with up-to-date multiple tools.

  • A lot of Spam lately

    Hello,
someone else posted a message about this and I think its a strange coincidence.
All of a sudden I started receiving all these spam messages (multiple per day) about meds, etc. Usually the others on the To and Cc list are .mac adresses...
I know I can configure junk and rules and such, but should apple not do something about this? Can they?
    thanks

Do you use this email address when making online purchases (except when purchasing from the Apple online store if used) or when required for website access and do you automatically render all HTML received or ever use the remove from mailing list link included with spam?
If so, you are contributing to the amount of spam you are receiving and the same will occur regardless the ISP or email account provider and there is much more included with the cost of a .Mac account than email account access.
Copied from the first link I previously provided.
No single strategy is completely effective when it comes to managing Unsolicited Bulk Email (UBE), also known as "spam". People who are intent on sending spam are ingenious at coming up with ways around any filtration schemes.
Automatically rendering all HTML received can reveal that your email address is valid to a spammer if the recieved message is not automatically marked as spam. When a spam message is formatted in HTML and includes embedded images and/or objects that must be rendered from a remote server, this can inform the spammer that your email address is "known good" and "known good" email address lists are sold/exchanged with other spammers causing even more spam to be received. If a spam message is correctly marked as spam when received, no HTML is rendered but not for spam messages that are not marked as junk.
If spam keeps coming and is ever increasing, it has been my experience that something was inadvertantly done previously or continues to be done that is causing the problem. Once the cat if out of the bag, it is difficult to stop without creating a new email address.
Regarding the custom mail or spam feature, I use none and only the default Junk Mail rules and I have very few problems with spam.

  • IOS 7.0.3., a lot of spam and a not working spam filter

    Hi Apples,
someone hijacked my emailaccount and I get tons of spam-mails everyday. On my MBP it's no problem because the spam filter in Mail works properly. Bravo!
But here's my question: When i receive all the spam-mails on my iphone, I can check and remove them as "spam" manually. BUT does this action improve anything for upcoming emails? Does it learn somehow? It doesn't seem so, because everytime I receive new spam mails I have to check them again and send them to **** by hand.
Dear Pros, is there a solution for my problem?
    Thanks so much in advance,
    Janina
    That's my phone:
    iPhone 5
    iOS 7.0.3.

I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version.  I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again.  I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again.  My blue tooth doesn't work either.  I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this.  When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue.  My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!!  I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue.  Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it.  Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple.
