Lots of static through speakers

I did a search and couldn't find my question posed anywhere. I have a MS-6340 board and I have used several types of new speakers to verify that the problem doesn't lie in the speakers. I have installed a sound card and that doesn't make a difference either. On-board sound and sound through the soundcard each result in tremendous amounts of static. Is there something that can be done about this? Anyone had a similar experience? This motherboard was bought new and I use this system mainly for myself and daughter for surfing a light gaming. Static free sound would be a major plus.
I see in a post that "Stand-off's" could have something to do with this. I would like to be enlightened about how this could be an effect on the sound.

I am having lots of static and "clicking" on my PC speakers at high volumes. I have the Intrigue 2.1 3300. You can hear the static on Windows Media and I-Tunes. You can only occasionally hear it over the music but as soon as the song stops, the static starts. Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks in advance for any help.

Test your speakers with a different audio source such as a portable CD player. Replace the cable connected to your sound card, and connect it to the test source such as a portable CD player or portable MP3 player. See if this problem lies on the speaker or sound card.

This is a wireless carrier issue. The fact that the speaker & microphone work properly for other apps is a great indicator that your device is fine.
Contact your wireless carrier about your call quality issue.

What model iPod and iOS works and which does not?
Sometimes a 4G iPod will not fully sead in the dock because its case configuration is different that previous models.
Also, sometimes an iOS update breaks compatibility.
Have you checked the dock manufactuer's support stie for compatibility?
Sometimes this works:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Clean out your headphone port with compressed air or a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol. Does that help?

I just recently purchased a new headset for gaming but have been having some issues with it and the system sound. One major issue is when I call someone on skype, the sound from Skype or the call will go through the headphones, but any other audio comes out of the speakers. I have also notices that iTunes also does not function when I am in a call as well. Some examples would be if I were to want to watch a YouTube video while in a call, the sound would come through the speakers and not the headphones. However, I did find a fix for it. All I had to do was disable the main speakers and the audio was transmitted to the headphones. Another example would be if I wanted to run games via Steam (Garry's Mod, TF2, ect.), I wouldn't get any sound whatsoever from the game. Not through my speakers or headphones. With one exception, Garry's Mod volume I can hear through the speakers while in a Skype call, but I want the sound to come through the headphones. But with TF2, I get no sound whatsoever. I have read your post on how certain programs are transmitting sound through speakers and not the headphones, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To ensure that your headphones are utilized when plugged into your notebook, I recommend following the steps below:
1. Click the Start button
2. Click Control Panel
3. Click on Hardware and Sound (sorting the control panel icons by "category"), and then click on Sound
4. Under Playback, you should see one or two speaker icons. One of them should already have a green checkmark next to it (which will be your notebook's main speakers). If the second Speakers icon is not visible, right-click in the list of devices and select Show Disabled Devices
5. A second, disabled icon of "speakers" should appear. Right-click this icon and click Enable
6. Select the newly enabled speaker device, right-click it, and select "Set as Default Device".
7. Click Apply.

Ok so I've been doing more testing. It's all videos on the iTunes store. Anytime I try to download a podcast or stream it or anything it's super slow. To download an episode of Diggnation it tells me over 2 hours to download but the time keeps climbing and I just stop the transfer.
Some people said it's an Open DNS thing? Maybe it is but it's not computer specific and I couldn't find a way to change the DNS settings in my Airport, only on each computer. I tried deleting PLists and restoring my Apple TV and restoring my Airport and nothing is working.
I don't know if it an issue with me, my ISP or Apple. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Plugging in a headset disables the speaker...nothing you can do to work around that.

Windows Background Noise Through Speakers

I recently purchased a Touchsmart 600XT the recommended build. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I have noticed that when I am using Windows and playing music through my external or internal speakers I pick up a slight quick background distortion when I resize a window or change pages of a program or access areas or change website. The sound itself is not compromised but the distortion is heard. I am experiencing the same thing through my internal speakers as well after I disconnect the external. This distortion does not happen when no music is being played through speakers. I have run a test on the NVIDIA card and no problems were found. I have run a test on the Realtek driver and no problems were found. I have even reinstalled the Realtek driver to no avail. Is there a solution I am overlooking and has this happened to anyone else. Other than this problem I am completely satisfied with this product.

i had a similar problem but doesn't sound exactly like yours though. I had 2 PC connected to reciever both using digital coax. the sounds were always there though. if i disconnected one of the pc from the reciever the sound was gone. I believe that was a problem with grounding was occuring through one or the other PC. i then changed to optical for one of the pc's and all cleared up.
like i said the problem doesn't sound so much the same as your's however if you do have another PC connected to your home theatre system or reciever you might want to physically disconnect it from your external device to see if that helps.

I understand that you are getting sound from the headphones/earplugs but not from the system speakers. I am happy to assist you with this.
As the sound is working through the audio jack, I will assume for now that the audio driver is fine. Please check through the following page, which is very comprehensive. If you are still having a problem it is possibly a hardware issue with the speakers.

Using a mtech hiface usb device with macbook air is producing a lot of static. when i touch the mac air it stops then starts when i remove my hand. Help?

Im using a mtech hiface usb device for audio on my Mac Air. If i disconnect it from its ac and disconnect the hiface from the usb then take the Mac Air to a new location to work then return it I have an awful lot of static. im assuming its static electricity from the move or something. ive tried to ground it with my body by touching the mac air while touching something grounded. The static stops at that point but starts all over when i move my hand away from the computer. Any suggestions, could it be a setting in the USB? Thanks.

how long have you had your ipod? mine did the same but after a while you need to get a new one because of the battery...
