Lotus Notes applet doesnt load after intalling JRE

Hello,
Any ideas how to go about this thing? Without the JRE, the applet is ok, but after installing the JRE, there is a class not found exception. I tried taking off my classpath settings but i still cannot access, but when i uninstalled the JRE, the applet goes ok again.
Thanks for any help extended.
Regards.

When installing the JRE you can specify if you want to use this JRE for your webbrowser as well.
Uncheck this option and you'll do fine.

  • User rejected the cab - signed applet doesnt load

    Hi,
I have signed my cab file and IE requests for permissons when I access it. If I deny the permissions, my signed applet doesnt load. Is there any way to make the applet load even if I dont grant the permissions. I expect only the 'out-of-the-sandbox' operations to fail - not the entire applet!
    Thanks

I found a solution to this. Details on my blog at:

  • Newest Firefox will not allow my Lotus Notes to fully load

Previous Firefox allowed me to easily access my work Lotus Notes at home.
Installed newest Firefox: Lotus Notes partially loads (I get all of the tool bars, etc) but none of my email content loads (the portion of LN that shows emails is empty).
    Error window says:
A Domino Web Access script error has occurred that might result in missing data within the current page. If your current operation did not complete, click OK, and then refresh your browser display.
    Show details
But when I do OK/refresh nothing new happens.
    Help!

I personally verified ant it is really working. It is sufficient to install the '''Remote XUL manager''' in a very simple way:
    1) Install the addon: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/remote-xul-manager/]
    2) Open the config dialog of the addon and insert the name of the domain that you want to allow (for example in my case it was the first part of the web adress of my job, where I am forced to use Lotusnotes)
Then everything works fine as before with Firefox 3.6.
I am not an expert but I understand that Firefox doesn't want to support anymore XUL because of safety concerns, this is the reason why you are supposed to make a whitelist of domains allowed.

  • [SOLVED]nm-applet doesnt load

hi i have just installed arch linux and this seems really cool.  i like it a lot (i still have a LOT of work to do to make it all the way i want) and im still gonna have to do a LOT of reading before im an expert at pacman and AUR amoung other things.
i just installed nm-applet bcause i want to connect to wireless networks but it fails to run.
in my gnome startup list i have nm-applet --sm-disable
i can connect manually in the terminal by using iwconfig.  this wont help me when i am at the university though since we have an 802.1x system (doesnt ever work great with linux by my expirience with different distros. nm-applet version .66 worked pretty well if i remember correctly though).
anyway how can i get nm-applet to work?
i tried to ask for help in the IRC but i got this statement
Please register with services and use the IDENTIFY command (/msg nickserv help) to speak in this channel
ill have to google that in the morning and figure out what needs to be done for that; im just too sleepy for it now
    thanks.

ok someone sent me a pm and said i needed to add networkmanger to my deamons list.  that seems to have worked for now.
i am interested in trying wicd to see if it works better with the 802.1x network at the university.
this is kinda a weird story:
i installed wicd.  there is a menu for it in applications.  i clicked on it and it complains about not being root (shouldnt it run the graphical su prompt? actually better yet i shouldnt need to be root to use it).  well anyway i tried to remove it and reboot and my keyboard and mouse would no longer work in gdm so i couldnt log in.  weird.  i started it up again in single user mode and reinstalled wicd and then the system worked fine again.  i have no idea how that happened.  still interested in giving wicd a chance.  i am a noob at arch but that sure didnt work in a way i would expect
EDIT: wicd loads up if i log in as root. btw regular user gets errors pertaining to not being root.
EDIT: oh never mind i needed to add myself to the network group. boy im silly.  i guess ill have to do some real world testing next time i go to the university to see which one works better. btw if anyone is searching this check out this wiki post http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wicd
EDIT: marked this as solved. thanks for the help.

  • Photoshop doesnt load after installing a third party plug in on Mac

    I Installed a third party plug in : WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin1_0_6.zip
This was supposed  to fix a problem with the polygonal lasso tool on Mac OSX.
I use Macbook Air with the latest OSX and I had installed 'creative suite 6 design standard"
After putting the plugin file in the plugin folder, I restarted Photoshop but it fails to open.
I got an error message saying ' application failed to register'
What to do ? Do I have to reinstall photoshop?
Also, wonder if the plugin will resolve the polygonal lasso problem. Any views on that?
    Thanks

That is not a third party plugin, that is an Adobe plugin to work around known MacOS bugs.
But I'm not sure what could cause that error message. Are you sure that is the exact wording of the error message?

  • Mouse profile doesnt load after computer restart

Every time I restart my laptop, I have to re-load the mouse settings to enable the ClickPad. Otherwise, I loose the option to scroll using the ClickPad and it's driving me crazy. It only happens when the computer is shut down or restarted. I did recently install windows 10 but I don't know if this was the cause or not. Please help!

I don't have a fix for your problem directly but an alternative to suggest: try the SteerMouse driver. When I tried a Mighty Mouse the Apple driver literally drove me (pun intended) away - flaky and feature poor are the nicest things I can say about it. The SteerMouse driver on the other hand is feature rich and rock solid; it will cost you a few bucks but is well worth it. Download via MacUpdate, VersionTracker, et al.; last I looked there was a free trial period.
Full disclosure: I have nothing whatever to do with the authors or publishers of SteerMouse.

  • Could not load applet in a browser using jre 1.6.0_06

    Hi,
I am facing problem with loading applets when the browser uses jre 1.6.0_06.
Not able to understand what actually the problem is, I tried to check with a small applet that would simply print Hello World on the java console. Even this applet also could not be loaded on the browser. I could load this applet in the test environment of eclipse, but not able to load it on the browser when the applet is deployed on Tomcat.
We have no problems in loading applet if the browser is using an earlier version of the jre.
One more thing we have found out that, if we change the SSL cipher suite of the ssl.conf file such that it can support weaker protocols, my applet works with jre 1.6.0_06 also.
But one thing we could not understand is that why changes in SSL cipher suite of the ssl.conf file creates problem in loading the applet, only in case the browser is using jre 1.6.0_06. I mean to say that changes in the SSL cipher suite does not create any problem in loading the applet if my browser is using an earlier version of jre 1.6.0_06.
Please help me out as I don't have any clue regarding this problem.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
We have found a wor around for this problem.
The following option has been unchecked and the applet could be loaded.
    Go to java control panel
    Under the Advanced Tab
    Under the Security section
Uncheck the last option "Use TLSv1.0".
    This makes the applet work.
But could not understand as why this is creating a problem.
We have tried to include TLSv1.0 in the cipher suite of our apache server, while keeping the above option in java plugin control panel checked, but even that did not solve the problem.
Please help me of how should I proceed for this problem, as I am totally stuck.
    Thank you.

  • Loading the same native Libaries in different Applets doesnt work !

The problem is the following :
    I have applet_1 that does System.loadLibary("mydll")
    and i have applet_2 that does System.loadLibary("mydll")
both calls are static but it doesnt matter.
When i call applet_1 first in my browser it can do anything it wants (function calling in dll etc).
When i call applet_2 after that in my browser, it doesnt load the libary, nothing happends - no exception thrown it just doesnt happend anything. The applet works fine but cant do any method calling to the dll.
The same happends if i open applet_2 first and after that applet_1 suffer the same problems that it cant call any dll methods, unless i close the browser.
So, the first applet that loads the libary is the only one who is able to call methods within the dll.
Further observation is, i made a simple class that only loads the libary, i set an int to 1 when the libary is loaded, however when the other applet calls that class the int is NOT 1 anymore, it has its initally value which leads me to believe that every applet in the java plugin has its own virtual machine.
I found this thread, it has the very same problem. However i didnt find anything about the bug 4299094.
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=30&thread=33843
Any ideas what i could do to solve this problem ? When i copy the dll and rename it to mydll2 i can use mydll in applet_1 and mydll2 in applet_2.
    Regards

    Further notice :
I put both applet classes into one jar after i read about the Class Loader Issues in the documentation of the java plugin.
    "Class Loader Issues
Prior to version 1.3.1_01a, Java Plug-in would use a single class loader to load multiple applets during a browser session. This practice allowed the multiple applets to share information with each other through static variables.
In order to maximize compatibility with the Java virtual machines embedded in Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers, beginning with version 1.3.1_01a Java Plug-in uses separate class loaders for applets that differ in their codebase and/or the value of the ARCHIVE parameter in the APPLET tags that invoke the applets. Only if two or more applets share the same codebase and have the same value for their ARCHIVE parameter will the same class loader be used.
Applets that rely explicitly on the old Java Plug-in behavior with respect to class loaders may be incompatible with the new Java Plug-in. That is, applets that rely on the ability to share information afforded by a single class loader may fail to work properly if the new Java Plug-in uses separate class loaders for each applet. If this compatibility issue applies to your applets, you can force Java Plug-in to use a single class loader for multiple applets by simply ensuring that all applets have the same codebase and that the APPLET tags used to launch the applets each has the same value for the ARCHIVE parameter. "
Both applets now can load the libary but ONLY if executed in the SAME window, if i open a new window and load applet_1 or applet_2 the libary cant be loaded in the NEW window. It will still work flawless in the old window for applet_1 and applet_2 but in the new window applet_1 and applet_2 dont work.

  • ActionPerformed method not working when applet is loaded in browser window.

Hey there guys. I need urgent help from anybody who has experience in deploying websites whose code is in java.
I am having two problems as mentioned below...
first, I have made a simple login screen using java swing and JApplet. there is a single button to login. the action performed for this button accesses a private method to check the username and password which are there in atext file. the applet is working perfectly in appletviewer but when i load the applet in a Internet Explorer window using HTML's Applet tag, the button is giving no response at all even when i enter the correct username and password.
I guess it is either not calling the private function that is checking the username and password from the tes=xt file or it can not access the file. Please help as soon as possible as this is related to my college project.
I am attaching the code herewith. Suggestions to improve the coding are also welcome.
the second problem is that while writing my second program for generating a form which registers a user the html is not at all loading the applet into the browser and also if im trying to access a file to write all the details into the console is showing numerous amount of error after i press the button which i can't not understand. the only thing i can understand is that it is related to file access permissions. If anybody could put some light on the working of worker threads and thread safe activities of SwingUtilities.invokeandWait method it would be really appreciable.

Hey Andrew, first of all sorry for that shout, it was un-intentional as i am new to posting topics on forums and didn't new that this kind of writing is meant as shouting. Cool.
Secondly thank you for taking interest in my concern. No worries.
Thirdly, as i mentioned before, I am reading i file for checking of username and password. the file is named as "userpass.txt" and is saved in the directory named "@data" which is kept in the same directory in which my class file resides.OK - server-side. That makes some sense, and makes things easier. The problem with your current code is that the applet will be looking for that directory on the end user's local file system. Of course the file does not exist there, so the applet will fail unless the the end user is using the same machine as the server is coming from.
To get access to a resource on the server - the place the applet lives - requires an URL. In applets, URLs are relatively easy to form. It might be something along the lines of
    URL urlToPswrd = new URL(getCodeBase(), "@data/userpass.txt");
    InputStream is = urlToPswrd.openStream();
    DataInputStream din = new DataInputStream(is);
So the problem is that it is reading the file and showing the specific output dialog box when i run it through appletviewer.. Huhh. What version of the SDK are you using? More recent applet viewers should report security exceptions if the File exists.
..but the same is not happening when i launch the applet in my browser window using the code as written belowHave you discovered how to open the Java Console in the browser yet? It is important.
Also the answer to your second question
Also, the entire approach to storing/restoring the password is potentially wrong. For instance, where is it supposed to be stored, on the server, or on the client?is that, as of now it is just my college project so all the data files and the username and password wiles will be stored on my laptop only i.e. on the client only. no server involved.OK, but understand that an applet ultimately does not make much sense unless deployed through a server. And the entire server/client distinction becomes very important, since that code would be searching for a non-existent file on the computer of the end user.

  • Using Applets in Lotus Notes R5

I was wondering whether anyone has successfully used Java applets in Notes Client applications (not web applications).
Specifically, what JDK version can I assume to work. I would think JDK 1.1.6 from the documentation of the R5 Domino Server, but I couldn't find an explicit statement about which JRE version the R5 Client supports.
What I am trying to do is:
    (a) Use Java to implement things with NotesUI-Objects one would traditionally do using LotusScript, like putting "Hello World" into a field on a freshly opened Lotus Notes Form. People seem to be more willing to learn Java than LotusScript these days. :-)
    (b) Use custom Java Applets to display eg a barchart depending on data inside Notes and external data sources, instead of using eg Excel through OLE/ActiveX as I and others traditionally did and still are doing.
    Anyone can help here?

You probably want to stick to the lotus developer domain for answers to this kind of stuff.
    http://www.lotus.com/ldd
The Notes/Domino Gold Release Forum is full of stuff, and the sandbox should have some samples.
JDK 1.1.6 is fine. The biggest thing you need to do is make sure you extend AppletBase in Notes.jar not Applet.
    Cheers

  • Applet fails to load after loging into the system

    Hi
I'm developing a web application for playing multi-player games. The game is played in an applet. I've written the applet and all worked well when embeding it in an ordinary jsp page. The problem starts when I try to start the applet as after logging into the system - it doesn't load and in java console I get:

    Any help more than welcome

    Thanks for the reply.
The connection is ok but I figured out that it's not about the logging in.
The applet stops loading when I add jsf to an ordinary jsp page. (in jsp it works fine)
