Lotus notes calendar one-way sync - reminder/alarm problem

Hello Everyone,
I haven't found a proper answer to this so posting here. Hopefully I will get a quick answer from some of the experts here.
BB Desktop Manager version: 5.0.1.37
Device: Curve 8900 4.6.1
Lotus notes version: 8.0.2
I use BIS with tmobile and have my gmail emails delivered to my device.
I am doing a lotus notes one-way calendar sync with my BB calendar. I am able to do this successfully. But the alarm & free/busy thing does not sync.
Even though I have alarm set in my notes which works perfectly and I see the notification 15 mins before the meeting on my PC. They don't show up in BB calendar. In BB Desktop Manager-> map fields, the notes 'notify me' is mapped to 'device alarm flag' but when I open the details of an entry that BDM is going to make in the accept/reject screen these fields are empty. I am using the default field mapping in the desktop manager.
All  reminder works for the entries that I create directly in BB. The device calendar reminder is set properly. No issues there.
What should I change in the desktop manager so that I get a reminder in my BB for the lotus notes entry?

Hello ggap10,
You can try to enabled an advanced logging of the Calendar to see where the alarm flag is not populating.
KB01451 will guide you through the process to enable the logging.
If you need further technical assistance, you can call your service provider.
Thanks and have a great day!

You would need to have enabled iCloud on your MBP. Your question indicated you did not.
Its serial number is useful for establishing ownership should the MBP be recovered. File a police report.

  • Can't sync Lotus Notes Calendar

I have the Bold 9700, Desktop Manager 5.0.1.18, with Lotus Notes 6.5.5. I am not on enterprise server for email. Just want my work calendar to sync on my personal Blackberry. I am logged into Notes. I have sync set up for Calendar only in the Blackberry desktop softeware, only 30 days of history and 180 days in the future. When I start the sync, it just sits there, says its communcating to notes, but after a few hours, no records have been transfered to BB.
Here is the log after one hour trying just a few days of appointements.
One-way sync from Lotus Notes Calendar to Device Calendar
    First System: Device
    Second System: Lotus Notes
    Second System File Name: Calendar
    Conflict Resolution: Notify
Appointment Range: From 3/8/2010 To 3/10/2010
Total Inputs From First System: 0

    Hi,
Thanks for the hint, unfortunately calendar entries are quite simple (test and so on..)..
If I try to syncronize contacts and calendar I get no warning and contacts are syncornized OK but if I try to sincronize only calendar I got this warning
    PC Sync information.
PC Sync has encountered a problem and has terminated the synchronisation.
    Possible Solution
Please check your Synchronisation settings and ensure your phone is in the Idle state, then restart the Synchronisation.
trying to syncronize only in one direction also does not help....
Is there a way to see more detailed info about the warning?
    Thanks

  • Wired sync lotus notes Calendar 8.5.2 FP3 on Mac OS 10.7.2 to Torch calendar

When will the Blackberry Desktop Manager support wired sync btw Lotus Notes calendar and Blackberry phone?
Pretty much the same way as what is currently supported under the BB desktop mgr in Windows.

Using the search engine in this forum , I noticed that same question was asked 1 year ago with no replies or unsupported feature replies, this leads me to believe we should just give up on this valid request and look at iPhone instead since BB desktop sw will not
be supported on the Mac <->Lotus notes.
Unfortunate but I take it RIM has other issues to solve.

  • Syncing my BB 8100 with my corporate Lotus Notes calendar and my personal iCal on my personal Mac

    Hi all,
Am new to the community and BlackBerry.
I have just tried to set up my BB to synch with my corporate Lotus Notes calendar, but also to synch with my personal iCal calendar on my Mac at home.
To do so I am using the corporate setup (which I change nothing to for LN syncing) and PocketMac SyncManager to synch with iCal when at home.
My BB calendar is always up-to-date with my office calendar but does not have my personal entries from iCal, even if the sync process with PocketMac SyncManager returned no errors and the log book shows that a number of entries where synced successfully.
I have been looking at this problems for several weeks now and am not getting anywhere.
Hope someone out there can help.

Hi!  One thing that BES users need to do when syncing with other computers is that they must turn OFF the BES function temporarily.  That means, open the Calendar, for example, and then open the menu, and find the BES Synchronization option.  Select that and change the setting to turn it off.  Repeat that for any BlackBerry device option that you want to sync with PocketMac.  Then, do your sync with the home Mac.  Afterward, before you resume syncing with the office system, turn that BES option back on for each area you turned it off.  At that point, you ought to see your personal contacts merging with your business ones.
    Have a great day!

Nokia C3- Can I Sync my Lotus Notes Calendar with Nokia C3 Calendar?

    I have done that!
I use Nokia PC Suite 7.1.51.0, Lotus Notes 7.0. Nokia C3.
    In the Nokia PC Suite,
    under Sync, Settings,
    Calender - Server: Local,
    Calender - Filename: mail\<yourname>.nsf
After sync, go to your Lotus Notes Database, double click your Local.
On the Left pane (note that it is not the Shortcuts on the most Left of Lotus Notes), Click on the word Mail for <your name> (which is right above your Inbox, Drafts, etc...), you will see Switch to  Calendar, from there you find all your calendars data.

  • One-Way Sync iPhone with iTunes?

I Posted this question a while back:
    Hello...
On several occasions I have managed to delete content on my iPhone using sync in iTunes, and I somehow find iTunes not very intuitive and logical on the matter of syncing.
My basic question is of there is a way to force a one-way sync, or "Just transfer crap to my phone but don't even dare touch the content on there or I will un-install you!"...
I have a total of 3 computers which I use my iPhone with.
    - Work: at my work I generally use to sync my calendars ect. so I always have my work calendar on me,
    - Home Workstation: this I use to manage the music on my iPhone primarily.
    - Home Laptop: this I use for verious stuff.
What computer should be allowed to do what? (R-Read, W-Write, D-Delete)
    - Music: Work - RW , Home WS - RWD, Home Laptop - RW
    - Calendar: Work - RWD , Home WS - RW, Home Laptop - RW
    - Apps: Work - RW , Home WS - RWD, Home Laptop - RW
And so on, so as you can se, I would like to ONLY let my workstation at work delete stuff in my calendar, it may add stuff or read stuff of any kind, but NEVER delete it.
    And so forth...
Is there anyway of adding such restrictions?...
    And i got this answer:
    Welcome to the discussions,
See this article about syncing and merging data: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296
The main thing is, you can only sync to one itunes library at a time. If you want to sync to more than one computer, you'll have to manually manage your media content to avoid getting it deleted when you connect to another computer.
See also http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1535, "Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone"
Thats all very well, but... no...
    Going to: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1535
And attempting to follow the instructions there, well fails because what happens in step 5 when clicking apply, is the dialog that ask if i wan't to erase and re-sync. That means i can't even Enable Manually management of videos and music without erasing the content on my phone?...

See if this cnet video gives you any help. The best you can do is trick itunes into thinking it is syncing to the same library database file on all PCs.
    http://cnettv.cnet.com/sync-your-ipod-two-computers/9742-1_53-50004835.html
You will have to pay careful attention to how itunes preferences are set on each PC.
The thing was designed to sync with one PC, really. This apple article pretty much states it will get corrupted if you try to use multiple PCs repeatedly:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1474
and advises using a 3rd-party solution to do it. The cnet video I linked also has mentions of 3rd-party programs htat will do what you want.

  • ICal One-Way Sync? (iPhone to Mac)

So, the other day my mother accidentally erased all of her events in iCal on her Mac. She still had them all on her iPhone, so she tried to sync it with her Mac to undo the deletions. But it did the opposite; all of her events were lost on her phone. Luckily, I was able to restore her back-up onto her iPhone. So I need to know if there is a way to sync the events (one-way) from the phone onto the Mac.
    Thanks!

    Thanks, Allan.
I am not sure if I will follow your advice, however. While you're probably right and it should be a true sync, what I was trying to say was that in my case (and apparently Berit's as well) it simply isn't.
Which means that apart from the fact that we will probably have to clean out our adress books and calendars again after a reset and sync. I've done that three times already and believe me, it's a major pain. Plus, there is also a chance it won't work afterwards.
I was actually hoping for there to be some workaround solution like a one-way sync. And I'm not happy with Apple's tendency to prevent such workarounds wherever they can. I understand they want to profit from their awesome products but wherever anything doesn't work they're starting to lose their user friendliness along the way. Which still, to me, is their selling point number one, notwithstanding the really great design.
Honestly, I'm not sure what to do right now.
But thanks again for your time. I'll keep posting what happens.
    Best,
    Martin

  • One Way Sync - OCS to PDA only

Was wondering how I can accomplish one way sync to "PDA only" so that users cannot overwrite calendar on server.

    (1) Setting the replace all existing will wipe out my entire calendar of the phone and replace it with what is in Outlook.
    Correct.
    (2) By selecting "syncing" calendar events, will sync the events between Outlook and the iPhone.
    Correct.
What happens about the events I have placed onto the phone (after that initial sync)? Won't they get synced to Outlook?
Yes, which is the definition of syncing.
I want the sync to always be one-way...only from Outlook to the iPhone.
Not possible. If this is what you want, then don't sync calendar events or only enter calendar events with Outlook.
Contact information, calendar events, and bookmarks (if selected to be synced with the supported applications on your computer) is a bidirectional or true sync process with the supported applications on your computer. There is no setting to transfer calendar events from the iPhone to the supported application on your computer only or vice-versa or to not be synchronized.

  • One-Way sync from Palm to iBook?

Wiped my address book with a crashed sync, but the data remains on my Palm device (Treo 650). Anyone know how to setup a one-way sync from the Treo back into the iBook? Thanks, M

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You should first try to correct the problem by dragging the AddressBook.data file out of your Address Book folder at the end of this path:
    Macintosh HD:Users:<username>:Library:Application Support:Address Book
Duplicate the AddressBook.data.previous file, and rename it simple AddressBook.data and launch the application to see if it can recover your files.
If not, you should understand that there is no easy, quick, painless way to achieve what you want - moving a copy of your handheld data to your Macintosh.
You can restore synchronization to the Palm Desktop, by moving the Apple conduit out of the active Conduits folder, and by moving the following disabled Palm conduits out of the Disabled Conduits folder and back into the active one:
    • Address Conduit
    • Calendar Conduit
    • Contacts Conduit
    • Datebook Conduit
    • Tasks Conduit
    • ToDo Conduit
(Only one of each conduit pair is used by your Treo 650, but these instructions would also apply to users of the older conduits.)
By setting each conduit to Handheld overwrites Macintosh, you will transfer the data on your smartphone to the Palm Desktop, overwriting any existing records by doing so.
You can then export contact data as a vCard file and calendaring data as a vCal file but, here's a problem: you cannot export task or to do data, so in this process, you will lose all of the to do items in iCal. Once you have exported the Palm Desktop data in vCard and vCal format, you can import the contents of each file into the Address Book and iCal, remembering that your vCal file contains only event—and not to do—data.
You can then return the Palm conduits to the Disabled Conduits folder and the iSync Palm Conduit to the active one, and synchronize once again with iSync, choosing to overwrite the contents of your handheld with the data from the Address Book and iCal. Once again, say goodbye to your to do records. You do this by removing your device from iSync and adding it back prior to the next synchronization, causing the framework to act as if you have never synchronized before. Choose Replace (and not Merge) to avoid data duplication errors.
Do you see why periodically backing up Address Book and iCal data is so important? To do so, just select the Back up Address Book in the Address Book or the Back up Database option in iCal.

  • Creating appointments in Lotus Notes calendar

    Hello,
Does anybody know if SAP can create appointments in the Lotus Notes calendar?
The clients uses the SAP ESS Leave Request application.
As soon as the request is approved, an appointment should get created in the Lotus Notes calendar.
    Is this possible?
If yes, which are the prerequisites?
    Thanks for all your input!
    Kr,
    Werner

    Hi Werner,
if I understood you right, you need a way to create appointments in the Lotus Notes Calendar out of SAP (Backend or Portal) ?
So then Atlantic is not the right solution because it's the other way round.
As Alan mentioned there is no standard solution for this requirement (Business Package or something else) and it's not easy but we've done this in several projects.
There are several solutions possible, it depends on your requirements and on your system landscape:
One way is to use an XI/PI-Environment to synchronise the calendar-data.
Another way is to solve it via a 3rd party Solution. Then you can create also an UI e.g. in the portal so that a user can see his Notes Calendar and the Calendars of his colleagues to proof how many persons are already away in this time before he creates a leave request. Of course the appointment is also created in the Notes-Calendar if the request is approved.

  • HT1535 How do I do a one-way sync from computer to I-pad? Outlook Contacts only.  It has already been synced and there is bad info on I-pad that I don't want on my computer.

How do I do a one way sync from contacts in computer (Outlook), to contacts on I pad (also for I-phone)?  Contacts on I-Pad are incorrect and I do not want to add them back to my computer?
Alternatively, is there any way to delete contact groups all at once instead of one contact at a time?
    Thank you in advance...
