Lotus Notes Migration pdf issues

Hello all,
We are in the middle of a migration from Lotus Notes to Exchange, and we have several users who are saying they cannot open .pdf files on their iPad devices. Are there any known issues with this?
Thanks.

Yes, this can be automated. However in doing so you're effectively building your own tool which will cost more than buying a pre-built one.
This isn't going to be possible with a SharePoint workflow. First you'll have to read the Lotus notes content, then you'll want to serialise that into a format for import and clean up any links or dead pages. Then you'll have to use the CSOM or REST
APIs to create, populate and publish those pages.
This won't be a quick task.

  • Lotus Notes - Create .pdf and file size limits

Is there a way to increase the 100MB file size limit in Lotus Notes create .pdf option?

    Good day Lisa,
Are you using Adobe Acrobat to create your PDF files or are you looking to use our CreatePDF service?  If you're trying to use the CreatePDF service, I'm sorry, but we can't change the 100MB file size limit.
    Kind regards,
    David

  • Lotus Notes and Adobe issue

I have been having an issue for the past year that when a Subject line in a Lotus Notes e-mail contains " " marks and I want to PDF it with Adobe, it causes both programs to hang and crash.  I'm able to keep clicking a prompt to ignore the error, but more often than not, it hangs and freezes. Then once it crashes, I have to go into Task Manager to quit all the processes related to Notes and Adobe.  I am on an XP operating system with Acrobat 9 Standard, v. 9.1.3, and Lotus Notes v. 8.5.2 FP2.  Any ideas or solutions?  Thanks in advance!

I suppose I should have been more specific, the problem IS printing to PDF in Lotus Notes...sorry for that miscommunication.

  • Lotus notes migration to SharePoint online Office 365

    Hi there,
My organization is looking to migrate from Lotus notes to SharePoint Online Office 365 (SharePoint 2013).
We are doing this without any help of a tool.
I am going to create the wiki pages.
There are around 1600 pages which are interlinked and approximately 15 links on every page.
Is there any means I can automate the linking of wiki pages.
Can a workflow be written to do so..??
    Please advise
    Many thanks.

  • Lotus Notes Traveler sync issues and problems

    No device
    Hello
I could connect my Palm Pre2 to our company's Lotus Notes Traveler successfully.
It is not as straight as on iPhone as my colleagues, the only point is to indicate completely the path to the Microsoft Exchange link, like:
    https://mycompany.mylotusname.com/servlet/traveler/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync
Then using my lotusnotesID and the Internet Password made it working REAL FINE.
I could get my mailbox, agenda and contacts exchanged with the pre2, terrific!!!
    Some limitations though:
    1) Tasks and notes are unfortunately NOT WORKING at all.
    2) the calendar does not synchronize more than two weeks in the past, but it seems that in the Pre2, it is a limitation for any Microsoft Exchange server. I have another MS Exchange account, not the lotus one, and the limitation is the same, in the past NOT OLDER than TWO WEEKS!!
(When i think that my Palm TX, Tungsten2, Palm W, etc, did synchronize 10 years of agenda, this is really sad that a new high tech device cannot make it!! I need to know what i have been doing last year or the year before in my professional life. iPhone sync shows EVERYTHING!!)
    MAJOR PROBLEM IS FOLLOWING
This worked for about three weeks, and then I started to have a weird problem.
It started on some received mails, and now it does it on every mail, all mails are shows properly in the mail list in the mail program: received from M.smith, on May 22, "Dear M.XXXX i think  ..." which shows the first words of the mail.
    So top display is ok.
When i open the mail, it says "Retrieving Mail Text", it loops for 30 seconds back giving an error message and asking to try again. Trying again doesnot retrieve the body of the mail either.
==> NO WAY TO READ THE MAIL COMPLETELY!!
It worked fine for the first three weeks NO PROBLEM AT ALL!!
I have tried my Lotus Traveler account on an iPod and iPhone using the same MS Exchange configuration, and there
    NO PROBLEM AT ALL.
So it is in the Palm Pre sync where something goes wrong.
I reset my PALM completely, and created a brand new user from scratch, reconnected it to the Lotus Traveler account and I got the same error, so it is not a matter of database too large in the Pre2 or something else.
It is INSIDE the PalmPre synergy sync itself.
Reading my mail from other sources like Google mail, or from a POP account works like a charm.
I don't know if someone at HP Webos can do something, but this is a message in a bottle.
    Jame from France

    Hi,
I don't know what happened, but one of a sudden, on Monday afternoon, everything worked back ok again.
I was about to show to a friend the famous message "cannot retrieve mail's body", but then the mail's body was retrieved from God knows where and it came direct on my pre screen.
5 minutes before it didn't work, 5 minutes later it did work.
I didnot change anything to my profile or pre or my lotus account.
I just don't understand why this worked again.
    The only difference I can think of, but I am not 100% sure, is that when I "transfer" a mail to someone else; the message I send is truncated generally just after the list of the mail recipients;
Sorry not to be able to say more than that, but it is weird for me too, how did it come to work?!?
    Rgds

  • Unity 7 and Lotus Notes migration

Customer currently is on Unity 7 with Exchange 2010. They recentlly got bought out and will be migrating over to Dominos. Is there any any sort of migration path so they can still have access to their old voicemails on exchange? would this integration be as simple as pointing the partner server to the new domino's?

No, you need to reinstall Unity and choose Domino as the new server.

  • How to convert lotus notes .nsf to outlook .pst?

    Dear guru,
I'm looking for the way to convert my notes email archive(.nsf) to outlook mail file. I found that there are some commercial 3rd party tool doing this job which is tooooo expensive for me. Is there any good way to convert .nsf to .pst or to move my mail data to outlook for FREE?
I tried a method which uses localhost mail server to send notes mail to outlook locally by IMAP(http://www.benshoemate.com/2007/11/09/how-to-upload-all-your-old-archived-email-to-gmail-from-outlook-lotus-notes-and-unix-pine/) but failed because my company blocked IMAP and POP3 incoming for security reason.
I'm using lotus notes 7.0.2 and Outlook 2007. Does notes connector work for this problem?
    Thx.

I'm looking for the way to convert my notes email archive(.nsf) to outlook mail file. I found that there are some commercial 3rd party tool doing this job which is tooooo expensive for me. Is there any good way to convert .nsf to .pst or to
move my mail data to outlook for FREE?
If I talk about free lotus notes migration apps then online records are showing that there are no free tools yet for lotus notes archive migration. Microsoft has a connecter suit (free) for same that allows migrating of configured notes database file to
ms outlook. External tools are playing very important role here with perfection and satisfaction.
Among all, Export Notes is a very low cost and feature-rich solution that assures accuracy of migrated data.
It allows all types of nsf (mail database.nsf, archive.nsf, names.nsf) file migration
into ms outlook pst file as well as Exchange Server (business version) even the data is inside All Documents folder or encrypted.

  • Lotus Notes Applications

    All,
Does anyone have any experience of migrating a Lotus Notes application to HTML DB ?
Are there any tools available/proposed/in development to allow this ?
Any help would be appreciated even if it is a no
    Thanks in advance
    Chris

    Chris,
While I have not done any Lotus Notes migrations myself, I did help a customer (a large US Federal Government agency) perform a migration.
The lead Lotus Notes developer was tasked with re-building a system in HTML DB. He knew little about Oracle, PL/SQL, Relational Databases, and HTML DB. They are now days away from going live with a very comprehensive HTML DB application.
Some of his comments about HTML DB were that the power of a Relational Database and the ability to exploit that power is something Notes lacks. He was also impressed with the declarative nature of HTML DB, which was similar to Notes - this made the transition much easier for him.
At this time, there are no tools planned for Lotus Notes migrations.
    Hope this helps,
    - Scott -

  • Shared Mailbox migrating from Lotus Notes to Exchange

We currently have Lotus Notes and in the process of migrating to Exchange Server 2010. We are using the Quest Notes Migrator for Exchange and the Quest Coexistence Manager for Notes tools.
One of the issues we’re coming across is Shared Mailboxes..
    Currently in Notes we have:
Signatures as part of the NSF file so they are included with every email – how will Outlook clients behave for Shared Mailboxes? Because we want the same Signature to be part of every email sent from a shared mailbox regardless of which user sent the email.
We are aware that if we use OWA we won’t have this problem, but how do we configure Signatures for Shared Mailboxes using Outlook clients?
Stationary: We have Stationery linked to our Shared Mailbox accounts, so for example, in our helpdesk mailbox, we have stationary documents/templates we send to end users who email our helpdesk asking a FAQ. Opposed to pointing users to SharePoint, how
do we tackle this in Outlook? Is there options?
    Thanks
    Ray

    Hi,
    1. you can use transport rule to have same signature when from field contains shared mailbox email address.
    2. Sorry, I don't understand your second question.

  • Can't send PDF as a mail attachment from iPad to a Lotus Notes account

Hello, I have some problems sending PDF documents as email attachments from my iPad. Using the adobe reader app for iOS, I create an email with the file attached. Sending this to e.g. a hotmail account works fine. However, if I send it to any address at my company, where Lotus Notes is the standard, the attachment seems to be converted into a text file. Is this a known issue with the reader for iPad, or should I rather be looking to IT support at my company for help?

Download QuickOffice, which Google is now making available for free:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/quickoffice-inc./id294258240?mt=8
You can open the XLS attachment in that app, then transfer the document to your Mac via the USB cable. You can then print from the Mac.
Printing from your iPad doesn't work via Bluetooth either, by the way.
    Regards.

  • Creating PDF in Lotus Notes (8.5.3) using XI (11.0.06)

I used to have Acrobat X Standard and I could create PDF portfolios from emails within Lotus notes (8.5.3). After upgrading to XI Pro, I seem to have lost this functionality. Furthermore, when I try to 'print' an email to create a PDF I get a print error from Lotus Notes.
Printing to an actual printer or printing to a cheap Acrobat alternative that my company installs on all computers works fine.
I bought XI Pro to use Actions, so I am not overly concerned about this issue, but am curious if anyone else is getting similar issues?

Experts, does anyone had similiar problem?

  • Migration Lotus Notes to Exchange, how to migrate confidential emails (in LN encrypted)

    Hi,
we're investigating a migration of Lotus Notes to Exchange. One issue is the migration of encrypted mail. How to keep them confidential in Exchange?
We have users like a secretary that has read/write access to a mailbox of a manager. If another user mails the manager with confidential information, he encrypts it in LN before sending it, so only the mailbox owner can open the message. Is this possible
in Exchange 2013 and in Exchange online? Heard that you can set things via IRM, but that with Outlook web access the secretary can set the manager's mailbox as primary and than will be able to open the confidential email....
    best regards,
    Hans

instantly convert Lotus Notes data to Outlook or exchange files without facing any error. For nay other query visit http://www.notestooutlook.net/

  • Shared Review Lotus Notes issue

I'm running Windows XP, Lotus Notes 6.5 and Acrobat Pro Extended 9.2.
I want to send a PDF for shared review on a network drive using Lotus Notes to send as attachment.  When I click the "To:" button and enter my Notes password, it comes up by default to my personal Address book in Notes.  I switch to the corporate Address book in Notes.  It takes a few moments to load (not a big deal) but when I select a person from the list, click "To:->" and hit OK, it hangs for ever.  The only way I can get it to work is to bypass the "To:" button and just manually type in the addresses.  Or choose from my personal Address book.
I think at one time I waited for Acrobat to finish and it came up with an error that said it didn't recognize the address as an email address.  Now, my personal address book in Notes contains real addresses like "[email protected]". The corporate address book in Notes seems to have aliases like "Joe Smith/corp/domain".  The only thing I can think of is that Acrobat can't use the "aliases" in our corporate address book.  Anyway to get them to talk?
I could use the method of saving a local copy and sending later but it would sure be nice if it could be done in one graceful step in Acrobat.

I have now been in contact with the Adobe Technical Support in Sweden and got the following answer:
"We have taken a closer look at the problem now, and it seems to be a bug in the program. Therefore we cannot do anything about it.
    The bug number is ##1916376.
    Good luck"
    A very disappointing answer...

  • How to save a PDF form in a Lotus Notes/Domino database

In our enterprise we have Lotus Notes/Domino database and we offered a PDF form to many users for some subscriptions.  To receive these subscriptions, is it possible to put a SAVE button that saves the filled data into the Lotus Notes/Domino database?
    If yes, how?

It happens automatically. You don't need any code to trigger it.
