Loud Beeping Noise Coming from Speakers - Virus?

Ok,
So when I'm surfing in Safari i suddenly get beeping or actually its more of a drumming sound coming from the speakers a bit like 'dum dum dum', if i click on something on the page the noise will stop providing i don't release my finger off the mouse, once i do the noise starts again. If i close safari the noise will stop, however it randomly starts again... sometimes during the night when i've gone to sleep (with safari logged off).
Also during this stage of 'dum dum dum', if i click on anything in a menu bar the pull down appears however my chosen open which i have highlighted with arrow appears to highlight something else in the menu.
So far i've changed the mouse, can't narrow it down to a particular application. Any ideas? Virus perhaps?
By the way, i'm still trying to upload a video of the sound on youtube but its taking ages,
Thanks in advance.

Yep, disabled that one. Sound has gone way for the moment, but now my mouse is having the same problem, when i click on a menu e.g History (in safari), move my mouse pointer to say Yesterday it highlights something else in the menu and jumps around. Very strange this.

  • Beeping noise coming from internal sound board

there is a strange beeping noise coming from internal sound board. it doesnt matter if the volume is all the way down it still happens. the noise happens most ten times an hour and it is just one loud beep. took it to geek squad and they couldnt explain. so why is it making this noise?

This beeping plagued me for months and months, driving me insane.  I tried to find a solution on the Internet; however, all I found were many people complaining about this random beeping noise from their HP laptops.  A couple of times the beeping stopped for a few days, but then it would come back.   But almost three months ago it stopped for good (I hope)!  I didn't do anything--it just stopped.  WEIRD.  But you might find this link helpful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svvZ70_H2wM&feature=email&email=comment_reply_received

  • Beep noise coming from apple tv

There is a semi-periodic beep sound coming from the apple tv while in operation. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this?

Aside from the fan, there should be no noises emanating from a retina MBP.  Your MBP comes with a warranty.  By all means take advantage of it and make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar.

  • Beeping noise coming from Zen Mi

I have a strange beeping noise ocassionally coming from my Zen Micro. It can happen when I have pressed play to hear a track. The player will pause as if its doing something then a descending beeping tone will sound for a few seconds. Anyone else had this?

Well it happened last time on a standard WMA file ripped from a CD. It also happened shortly before the battery ran out so I'm not sure if it was some kind of warning, however, I've had it for four months and not noticed it before.

  • Scariest noises coming from speakers

$ I just installed 64-bit windows and when I got to the drivers for my X-Fi 5., it appeared to install just fine, but I rebooted and the scariest noise came from my speakers. The sound can only be described as digital havoc.
I'm not sure as to what to do, so if anyone can give me some help?

( I had the same problem when I first installed Windows 7 RC x64 way back in June 09, thats also when I bought my Elite Pro.
I initial fix was to remove 2gigs of ram from my system leaving me with 2gigs installed which I wasn't pleased about at all. Later I managed to find the Daniel K drivers and support pack 2.0 which fix the issue.
I now see Creative have finally released a new driver (Jan 0th release) which may fix this issue. It is sadly ?long over due as I have just sold my Elite Pro because of Creatives total lack of support .
A fix for the snap crackle pop issue and new working apps should have been available months and months ago, this left me no choice but to never trust in this company again, I will never buy another Creative product and will now be quite happy with onboard sound using SPDIF and Coax out.
Good bye Creative and good luck.
P.S Daniel k is an absolute legend and should be praised for his work. Thank you for giving help when I needed it.

I had a similar problem with my Polk Audio speakers.  I got the same sort of sound when they were set to digital output.

Try using some ear buds or headphones to confirm if it's coming through the audio circuit or not. Also, try logging into another User account and see if it does it there also.

  • Static noise coming from speakers, then sound stops

    Hi All,
Having a very strange problem with my Thunderbolt Display + MBP Late 2011.
While listening to music, static/cracking noise starts... get's worse and worse and eventually the sound stops :-(
Then I restart the application playing the music/sound, it works again...
    Anybody having these problems?
    Roberto

As an update - my Thunderbolt display noise problem appears to have resolved itself? Most nights I woud leave the display plugged into power, which could have been leading to some static or charge build up somewhere?
After disconnecting it o/n (no power) and then only powering it on when I was actively using it - the static noise disappeared.
I now leave it plugged in 24x7 and there have been no noise issues since.
NB: This is after a visit to the Genius Bar and having some parts replaced in the display. The static did return for a bit but it's now gone.

  • I have a macbook pro 15 retina - when ever I connect to bluetooth speaker, I get this loud noise coming from the speaker - if I turn bluetooth off, the noise is now coming from the macbook speakers

I have a macbook pro 15 retina - when ever I connect to bluetooth speaker, I get this loud noise coming from the speaker - if I turn bluetooth off, the noise is now coming from the macbook speakers & stays until i restart.

Hi John. Thanks for that input. At Step 6, after clicking "Next" I get a window telling me my OS version is unsupported and the installation may not complete. I am prompted to go to Canon's web site to "Check Latest Info".
I've had this window on previous attempts and from Canon's web site I downloaded two drivers as follows
    - ICA Driver V4.0.0
    - Canon IJ Network Tool V4.5.0
I'm not sure if these are the correct / complete drivers I need for this install or not.
I continue to follow all the steps. At step 9 I click "Wireless Set Up using USB" amd get a License Agreement (a little different than instructions)
I click "Agree" and it goes to a Setup window with two progress bars showing the installation. I've not been prompted to connect the USB?
After the Setup window is done, I am then prompted to connect the printer via USB. I connect the printer and click on "Redetect". It is not detected.
I then try following the Canon on screen instructions for connecting to the wireless LAN amd enter the password. It searches and indicates "Connecting" on the window, but it never connects and the blue light just blinks
So, at this point I am stuck??
    Thanks
    Stephen

  • When I turned on my computer this morning it had a new noise coming from the top of the screen at the back.  Not loud but almost whirring.  What might this be ?

When I turned on my computer this morning it had a new noise coming from the top of the screen at the back.
    Not loud but almost whirring.
    What might this be ?

Processor  3.2 GHz Intel Core i3
    Memory  4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    Software  OS X 10.8.5 (12F37)
I just found an answer !
I had moved my computer into another room and had to turn up the brightness, as I have always had it on the lowest setting.  In doing so it created the noise, I turned it right down and it stopped.  I have now set it about level 3 so it's not so distracting.
    thanks

  • Some Kind of huge Noise coming from the Disc Drive while inserting and ejecting the disc.

Some Kind of huge Noise coming from the Disc Drive while inserting and ejecting the disc.
i have just purchased it before a couple of days a go.

I just installed a Mac Pro for a client. After a while I noticed this buzzing everyones talking about. It was especially bad after I installed two more internal drives. It seemed to come and go with HD activity. I pulled up the lever on the back of the machine when it was particularly loud and the buzzing went away. So like some others have noticed it's associated with the HD bays. I took the side off and adjusted the seating of the drives so they were exactly centered Now the buzzing is gone. I'll keep an eye on it. Maybe it will need some kind of silicone bumpers where the bay trays are metal to metal.
    More research to come.

  • Popping coming from speakers, can't adjust volume!

    This started happening today.
Clicking and barely audible popping noises coming from my Macbooks speakers.

If there is a red light coming from the headphone jack, it means the digital audio out is stuck on. A temporary fix is to insert and remove headphones several times to try to untrip it. Unfortunately, this might need a hardware repair to replace the logic board (as the headphone jack is part of the board).
