Loud beeping - same time everyday

My late 2009 model 27 inch iMac has recently started beeping for 10 secs every morning at 6:58am - irrespective of whether its switched on or off! There are no iCal alerts nor alarms set on during that time. I have no idea why it beeps without fail every morning at the same time. Has anyone experienced this same issue before?

Is it possible another program is setting the alarm?  Take a look at your system log it may give you a clue as to what is happening.

  • Azure connections drop exactly at the same time everyday.

    Hi Guys,
I wonder why all my connections to email server and NOC portal gets disconnected at the same time everyday. The connection drops and my retry logic would not get the connection back. However, the connection will be re-established after a while.
What could be the problem here. Any pointers to debug this issue will be highly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    AA

    Hi,
Would you please share the detailed configuration of your deployment?
Did you create a VPN connection? Is that email server a on-premise server?
If it is related to Azure VPN connection, it would be better for you to contact
Azure support by submitting a billing ticket to better analyze the reason.
    Best regards,
    Susie

  • How to make my Labview vi program run at the same time everyday?

I have Labview vi that uses "Time Stamp Control & Indicator" on front panel to set time & date for program operation.
But, I cannot separate the Date from the Time for Start & Stop control.
I want pgm to run everyday (7days/week) at the same time (e.g. 8am to 630pm) - I don't care about the start & stop Date feature.
So, everyday I have to manually open the Control & change the date to today.
How can I make program only respond to Time start & stop?
    Thanks,
    jaceb

Of course rather than create yet something else that is running all the time, setup your VI to only execute for the desired amount of time, If you running windows you can use the task scheduler to launch it.

Puts the burden on the OS and is not dependant on you starting it everytime you reboot, or having to put it in the start menu.  there are options for it to run even if you are not logged onto the system.
Although not absolutely certain, I am reasonably sure that mac and linux also have something similar.

  • Visualbell + beeping same time, how?

Any one know how to enable visual bell and beeping working at the same time, instead one or the other in .Xdefaults?

Also, did you have a chance to look at my comment on the router mistake? I meant actually modem and not router (i.e., the TC is connected with a broadband cable modem). Thanks.
Yes, that is fine, as long as I know which is which that is fine.. Otherwise it gets complicated to understand.
I see no probem in setting up wireless roaming.. but you need to be prepared to wipe the lot and start over.. factory reset everything.. take a risk.. be brave..
Start with fresh clean setup of the TC.. use different names for everything following the rules I gave.. then everything else will follow.
And yes, the v6 utility is a dog.. packaged with a Lion.. or Mountain Lion but it is still a dog.
    Install v5 utility.. thusly.
How to load 5.6 into ML.
    1. Download 5.6 for Lion.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
    2. Download and install unpkg.
    http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
Run unpkg on the desktop.. it is very simple.. drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. drill down.. applications utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall 6.1 so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. so just ignore the toyland version.. the plastic hammer.. and start using 5.6.. a real tool.
Once you get v5 utiity running.. plug each device into the computer by ethernet.. reset to factory and do the network setup in complete isolation.. only when you update the device.. place it into the network and check that it is working.. for roaming network this is pretty easy.
And much better than trying to setup remote from the device ie via another router.. or over wireless.. which is doomed.. setting wireless over wireless is like sawing off the branch you are sitting on.

  • Why does my iPhone give me a message chime at the same time everyday?

For the last week, my iPhone 4 gives me a message chime everyday at the same time, 10:41 PM.  Yet, there are no notifications, messages, badge icons, or calendar dates.  I have no idea why it keeps doing this?  Has anybody else come across this issue?  If anybody can help out a guy who is fairly new to the iPhone it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Nope, I've gone through the Clock, Reminders App and through my Notifications and I can't seem to find anything that has a notification for that time.  I was wondering if it was something with my Cellular Network Carrier?

  • Disconnection issue at roughly same time everyday.

Hi new to posting here but not to reading problems.
I've had a ongoing problem since April when my homehub2 suddenly gave up downloading, it was uploading fine but would not download, a borrowed hub proved this.
I got in contact with BT, new contract (ooppss!!) and a new HH3 sent to my door.
Connected and all ran perfect same speeds or thereabouts as i was getting before.
Then next morning before work trying to get online with my phone i couldn't, checked HH and all lights were blue but no internet, switched pc on (wired) and nothing so i reset the HH and it worked again, didn't think anymore of it.
Next few days were fine, then woke in morning and went through same process, this happened on and off over next 2 weeks rang up BT (otherside of planet call center) and was promptly sent a new HH3 as that was DEFINITELY the problem according the 'expert' on the other end of the very long line.
Fitted and same problem, after countless calls to India i lost the will to live and just gave up as i have a very busy summer job and really didn't need the stress. I have been reseting the hub most mornings since
NOTE: sometimes the Broadband light is orange but mostly it's blue.
Now my next door neighbour has recently upgraded there HH2 to a HH3 and they have now started getting these problems, they to have made countless calls to India and got nowhere (apart from another HH3). This had prompted me to try and get on top of it again.
Let me point out that it's not always at exactly the same time in morning, sometimes it doesn't do the disconnect till later in morning, but mostly when i wake up for work at 7am and try to check emails with my phone, i can sometimes then by 7:15am it might disconnect or 7:30am.
Looking at my event log in the HH i get alot (and i mean alot) of this error
(79685.040000) Time synchronisation failed. Tried all servers
I am connected straight to the master socket with just one phone plugged in, no extensions at all, i have changed the filter more times than i can count. I have also switched off ALL electrical devices in house except HH3 and it made no difference.
This all started with my HH2 failure and  BT don't seem to care or have no idea, if i don't get it sorted then the contract will be null and void in my eyes as a
'broadband provider is contractually bound to deliver a service you agreed to pay for so they have to take your request seriously if you don't think they're keeping up their end of the agreement.'
that is taken from a UK broadband consumer rights website i have emailed, i'm now exhausting all avenues of problem solving so if they still don't sort it then bye bye BT.
Sorry about the slight aggression but when i pay £23.99 a month for a piddly 2.5mbps( i live in little village), when some of my friends pay £10 for 20mbps(town) connections AND i get palmed off with poor customer services i get very wound up.
Any help will be massively appreciated

Thanks for reply Gould, sorry took me while to get back work is very busy.

  • Short disconnect same time everyday.

I always disconnect at 2:25 everyday, it only lasts for about two minutes, but its annoying. It has been going on for a few months. I just got a new replacement modem from verizon yesterday, and this disconnect is still happening. I do not believe anything is wrong in my home, or with my setup. I believe it is something that happens with my ISP at this time of the day. Any suggestions? I've called support and they have no idea.

Would you happen to have neighbors nearby that are also experiencing the same problem? This sounds like an issue a relative of mine had at one point where the entire neighborhood would randomly lose DSL service for up to a half hour for no apparent line-based reason. After an unspecified amount of time, the DSL modems in the neighborhood would all come back online, speeds would be a bit shaky at first (despite proper sync rates) but then settle out and improve.

  • DSL Highspeed Internet Disconnects same time everyday.

Hello, I have DSL Highspeed Internet with a D90-327W15-06 modem. I have a computer that uses a wire that connects to the modem through the ethernet slot as well as laptops that use Wifi.My internet ALWAYS disconnects 2:27 P.M EVERYDAY. I've called Verizon about this and they said they had to personally come and look at my modem/wires etc. I rejected the offer because .. well I don't really have the time and it would be inconvenient. I was wondering if this was a problem on my side of Verizon's fault and is there anyway to fix it? For example; would better placement of the modem or getting a new modem fix this?

It is hard to say what it is exactly.  Some isolation steps would be to see if it happens to all computers.  What do the lights on the DSL Modem do when it is down?  How long has it been going on?   Once we have the answer to a few those I may be able to further isolate it.

  • Srp521w VPN dropping at the same time everyday

I have the latest firmware of FW:1.01.11 but everyday the last 4 days, the tunnels dropped at 5:31am and reconnects within a few minutes. There are 2 vpn tunnels, one for data and one for voice. Using 3des/sha1 with 28800 lifetime. Internet is going through the wan and voice is turned off and this workaround was used as well.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-12874

This is a standard facet of most VPNs - the problem lies in your NAT router since both clients appear to come from the same IP address as far as the VPN server is concerned, and the router can't separate out the traffic.
There are a couple of solutions.
First, the built-in VPN server supports L2TP and PPTP protocols. You should be able to connect one system under each protocol, so that gets your two machines connected.
Second, you can replace your NAT router with one that supports multiple VPN clients (often termed 'VPN passthrough').
Third, setup a site-to-site tunnel so that your entire LAN is connected to the VPN (this saves you from having to run a separate VPN client on each machine, but is typically only worth it when you have more machines).

when i power up my macbook it begins loudly beeping 3 times. it wont boot and the screen is white and blank.

You have some bad RAM in there. Just replace it and it should take care of it.

  • [solved] NetworkManager OpenVPN disconnection everyday at same time

Everyday at 10:55 I get disconnected from my VPN by way of NetworkManager. I can't figure out how to debug NM and can't find anything in the other logs.
It does not matter which remote server I'm connected to or what programs are running (Desktop / KDE 4 kdeplasma-nm applet).
I don't have any cron jobs running nor do I have any energy saving configurations. Don't know how long it's been going on because there is always an occasional disconnect, but just in the last week or so I noticed that it is repeating at the same time.
Could someone tell me how to debug NM to start?

  • EA series 4500 and 6500 routers disconnecting once per day, everyday at the same time

I have had an EA4500 and EA6500 have the following problem:
I have time warner cable internet, Motorola SB6141 modem.  The modem connects to an Ooma Telo.  The 4500 and then 6500 are connected to the ooma.
I have this problem when the routers where placed in front of the ooma as well.
1 time per day, always at the same time, the router stops working.  for both wired and wireless connections.  i need to unplug the router to work.  The modem and ooma continue to work, so i know there is internet getting passed from the modem to the ooma. However, the internet gets disruptted with the routers.
this must be a settings issue with the router.  where everyday at the same time, maybe when timewarner changes over or something the router does not pick it up?? i dont know. i have gone through 2 routers and same identical problem.
    thanks.

The DHCP lease time from your ISP might be set on that time that is why 2 routers are behaving the same way. And the routers may not be renewing the ip address successfully, that is why you are losing the internet connection. What you can do is to clone the mac address and you can do that by accessing the router page.
If you are using the linksys smart wifi interface, go to connectivity > internet settings > click on clone my pc's mac > click on apply.

  • 3 times loud beeping sound after press on button but never startup (mac min

I'm having trouble startup my mac mini(not intel duo core)... i had a hard reboot (popup a grey/black on the screen asking to restart by pressing the start button) which i did hold the start button then release then press to start up... but after that, there's 3 times loud beeping sound which i've never heard before and after that screen in blank and my mac mini wont start up.. The LED light indicator is on but i'll keeping blinking 4 times every 30 seconds or so... could anyone help me to resolve the issue?
Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.3.9)
Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Three beeps at startup indicate 'no good banks', meaning the system can't access the RAM.
It may be that your RAM itself is bad, or that it has come unseated. It could also indicate a more serious motherboard fault which prevents the RAM being accessed, but that is unlikely.
If you have opened the mini in the past it may be that the best way to check is to do so again and ensure the RAM is properly seated by removing it and reinserting. If you replaced the original RAM and still have the original stick, try putting that back in. Also note that Macs are typically very sensitive to RAM incompatibilities, and there have been cases where systems fail as yours appears to have done for no reason other than that a RAM stick was marginal in compatibility.
If you upgraded the RAM yourself and bought the replacement stick from a source such as Crucial.com which permits unconditional exchanges, contact them and arrange to have the memory replaced.

  • Loud beeps, squeals, morse code, hacking?

In the middle of a conversation - loud beaps and squeals break out and stop the connection. Loud horn honks like a semi truck along with what absolutely sounds like morse code. Prob persisted into the next day. On the other end my GF could only here static. Could not call or receive. . ... As usual for me, I'm seeing nobody else mentioning this experience here. What happened? Did my line get hacked? Had to remove battery to reset phone and that cleared it up.
These were the kinds of sounds you would hear on a shortwave radio when you tune around.

I have had my Charge for about 4 days and I had the same noise interrupt a call today.  I tried to call the person back and got the same thing again.  The other person called me back and again all I had was this loud beeping, staticky, morse code like noise.  I had to restart the phone in order to use it.
I am also having the problem with the phone constantly dropping the network service.  I have to reboot 2-3 times a day to get back on the network.  This is in a 3g coverage area. Today when I had no network service, my wife had 3 bars on her Droid 2.
