Loud blast of extreme defening noise during project

Please help, my ears are still ringing and I am scared to use Logic after 3 times i have been blasted by an insanely loud screech of noise. I dont understand why this is happening. All my plugins are up to date and logic is on 10.7. The project is small and never had this issue before. I have the new apple earbuds and when I unplug them durning the noise it goes away. I was slightly low on HD space so maybe that did it?

That link seems to point to a search on white noise blast and i couldn’t find the threads on it. Whatever it is I guess its back now. I am on latest mavericks macbook pro retina 2012 512 ssd. 8gb memory.
I can switch headphones tonight and test. I doubt its mic or it would be consistent. This is intermittent.
The thread seems to have disappeared.. I do know there was talk of legal recourse as some people felt they had been injured by the volume of the noise.

  • Buzzing noise during wireless data transfers from new (model 1408) AirPort Extreme.

I exchanged a 3 week old 4th generation AEBS to get this new allegedly more powerful 5th generation AEBS. Both base stations were positioned in identical locations adjacent to identical harware. Yet only the new model emits the buzzing sounds. Any explanations?

Additional information gathered since original post...
At this point I have purchased and have had the opportunity to use 3 new 5th generation AirPort Extreme Base stations (model 1408). Two came from my local Apple retail store and the third was shipped from the on line store. All three emitted exactly the same buzzing/hissing noise during network traffic. I sit about 2 feet from the AEBS in a quiet home office and these sounds are very annoying.
Two Apple tech support reps claimed they never heard of this problem. I directed them to Apple Support Community postings dating back to 2009 that exactly described this issue (even with the 4th generation AEBS). Although these posts were detailed, as far as I could tell they did not state that Apple provided an explanation. My calls to Tech support have been kicked up to systems engineers. I am supposed to get some sort of reply after July 4.
I think others should make Apple aware of this issue (again) if their AEBS routers make the same noises.
    Thanks

  • Iphone 5s Echo and Swoosh noises during active call

    Hello All,
I purchased a new iphone 5s around a month back and I consistently get echoes of my own voice and swoosh noises during call. This happens irrespective if I make the call or an incoming call is answered, from any location like my room and on the street (No tunnels, elevators, etc). I originally thought it was because I receive notifications like texts or if my cheek touches the display, but I hear this noises and echoes even if I am on headphone (both apple and other branded headphones). Is this is a known issue, if so how do I resolve it ?
    Thanks

Flip the silent switch on the side of the iphone.

  • Skips & Scratch Noises during playback ...

I am all of a sudden getting skips & scratch noises during playback on certain albums during playback on Itunes and it transferred over to my ipod ... What could be causing this and how can I get rid of it.  ( No it is not the CD it was burned from cause it sounds perfect playing on other devices)
thanks for any ideas or tips :-)

I have observed this with my 4th gen Nano. The sound is pristine through the headphone jack, but when connected via some (older) dock devices there are little bursts of static every few moments.
I have tried this with a Bose Sounddock and a Tivoli iSongbook. Same thing. The little static bursts are NOT repeatable (random), and do NOT appear in headphones. Most people would probably never notice this noise, especially if they play only rock music. Music with less percussive sound reveals the problem more easily.
The very same files played through the dock devices on my old 3rd Gen iPod sound perfect.
I was getting ready to ask Apple to exchange my Nano for another to see if that has any effect. Other than this issue, I love it and it works great.

  • S90 Static noise during video recording

Everytime I do video recording on my S90, I can hear static noise during playback.
Does anyone else face this problem? Is this hardware or software related?

    Update the S90 via OTA
Once that is done then try again. If problem persist then open dialer and press ####1111#.
In engineering mode, select back mic test in Item test. This will record via back mic and will playback. If you still hear static during this time then bring it to the service center.

  • Timeline de-activating during project

    Hello, all.....
I just upgraded from Premier Elements to CS3. Sometime during project work, usually during the time I import clips into my library, my timeline just deactivates....still at the bottom of the work space but without any keyframe information. I cannot move any clips onto the timeline at all. It has that gray, second layer look that other software gets when it is not an active area.
I can't figure out how to get it re-activated, or what I've done to de-activate that area. Can anyone give me some helpful advise? Thanks!!
    Mary

    Hi
Goto transaction CMOD & open the project. Click on Change mode.
CLick on Components & then place cursor on user exit & click De-activate(Button next to Activate button).
    Best regards,
    Prashant

  • IMac 2009 (21 inch) making hard drive noises during sleep mode - normal??

    Hi there guys,
I have an iMac 21 inch (2009) , 3ghz C2D, 4GB Ram, 1TB hard drive (the hard drive was upgraded straight thru apple, when i bought it i paid extra for a 1tb hard drive, its not a DIY hard drive upgrade)
aniways, I recently noticed that during sleep mode, occasionally (not all the time) I can hear some faint clicking / hard drive noise, which is really weird because i put the imac in sleep mode and it really shouldnt be doing that no?
My 13 inch macbook pro 2010 never does this in sleep mode, its always dead silent
Im just wondering if this hard drive accessing / clicking noise during sleep mode is normal in imacs??

Im just wondering if this hard drive accessing / clicking noise during sleep mode is normal in imacs?
No it should not be doing anything but sleeping. The SMC controls sleep, try resetting it.
    Reset the SMC

  • Loud crack noise during playing

I'm getting an extremely loud noise like a Pop or Crack randomly during playing of a video from the timeline. It's not in the audio files and it never happens in the same place and it doesn't happen in the exported Quicktime file. Just during playback in Final Cut Express. If I unplug my Klipsch external speakers and play thru the iMac's built-in speakers, it sounds more like a loud one-time beep, then the audio disappears until I stop play and start play again and it plays fine again. Any ideas on what's causing this and how to eliminate it? It scares the crap out of me every time it happens!

It just happens when playing an edited timeline. The noise is not in the audio. It just make a random loud "crack" randomly when playing the video in the timeline whether everything is rendered or not.

  • Loud, Random White Noise during call

    Hello all
When I am making a video call with someone, an extremely loud sound of white noise occurs during the call.
It occurs on my side only, and the other person cannot hear the sound.  It does not matter if I initiated the call or not.  It also happens at random times and with or without video.  Just all of a sudden, I will get an extremely loud noise...like television static.
I am at my wits' end because this has been happening for the past 2 weeks for every call I make.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I am struggling with this issue for quite a while now, I was wondering whether there is any solution as of now.  I have seen this problem with several notebooks (One Lenovo, one Dell, one MacBook Pro, two Vaio's). It's been an issue under MacOS, Windows and Linux alike. The only (very temporary) fix is muting my machine and resetting.  Is there any solution as of yet? Is there anything I can do besides use an earpiece? I'd like to be able to use my notebook mic and speakers , since that's what they were designed for. (Other VoIP software works without the white noise issues, so I am pretty sure it's not a hardware problem)

  • Loud Buzzing/Clicking Noise During High Activity (i.e. Streaming Video)

    Hi,
My Macbook is the 2006 model, a MacBook 1, 1 -- the 2 GHz model with 1 GB ram.  I've stopped using it as my primary computer over the last year and a half, but I would love to resuscitate it.  Perhaps someone can advise me as to what is wrong and how I might proceed.
For a 5-year old system, the computer is still pretty operational.  However, whenever I attempt to do a high energy task on the computer (such as stream video on Hulu), in just a short amount of time a loud, low-pitched buzzing/clicking sound emits from within the laptop.  The sound is so loud that it more or less drowns out the sound unless I hook the computer up to speakers.  It feels as if the sound is accompanied by some vibration from within.  This is NOT the high-pitched beeping/buzzing that other MacBook Pro owners complain of (although I have experienced this intermittently as well).  I suspect that this is coming from the hard drive, but not being an expert, I wonder if this is the processor, or perhaps a fan?
I would love to repair this problem, upgrade this system to a later Mac OS, and continue using this MacBook as a glorified desktop for low-impact activities.  Does anyone have any advice as to how I might proceed, or might I be better off cutting my losses with this MacBook?
    Thanks for any advice.

I should clarify that this is a MacBook PRO.

  • How do I level the volume in a piece of music without creating white noise during silent/quiet parts

It's actually the original Star Wars trilogy soundtrack. The volume swings by 25 db or more, even during the same track. You can't listen to it without riding the volume knob. That's not hyperbole, you actually cannot hear parts of it if the loud parts are at a safe volume. It's not a bootleg copy or anything; I bought the CD's. Pathetic that they haven't already done what I'm trying to do, if you ask me.
Raising the volume of my sterio doesn't create white noise, so it seems like I should be able to duplicate the effect somehow, probably with some kind of dynamics processing. Classic Soft Knee, for example, has the white noise problem. When I used it in the talk radio business, it would also amplify the speaker's breaths. I've fiddled with it and tried to come up with my own settings without success. Maybe I need a different tool entirely?
I'm doing this for my son. He's 5 and loves Star Wars and loves listening to the music in the car wherever we go. Thank you for any help you can give!

My first, only slightly tongue-in-cheek reaction is to say, well done to the manufacturers of the CD!!  To actually allow the "full" dynamic range of the original to be released on CD!!
Sorry, I know that is not what you wanted to hear, but it is such a pleasant change that I couldn't resist commenting on the fact that the CD manufacturer actually does NOT want to "homogenise" the dynamic levels.  However, I realise this does create a problem for you in the circumstances of wishing to play the CD in your car.
You are correct, IMO, to be looking at the use of compression to reduce that dynamic range, though your talk of "white noise" is concerning.  Certainly the effect of compression is to reduce the dynamic range by, as it were, "decreasing the level of the loudest and increasing the level of the quietest parts"; there is a danger that increasing those quietest parts COULD increase the "noise" but I suspect the CD was recorded in pretty near "ideal" conditions, i.e. the noise floor was so far below the quietest signal that raising the level of that signal will minimally increase "noise", if at all.

  • Noise during charging

An intermittent noise has started during charging, it's a high pitch hum or whine, not real loud. Is this something I should be concerned about? I have had the plug (where it connects to the powerbook) smoke several months ago and had it replaced by Apple. I do not recall a noise at that time.
    powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Same computer, same problem. This just started in the last couple of days, accompanied by another, presumably related issue. When I plug in the computer, it charges fine until some point -- when the brick in the power cord gets too hot? -- it quits charging. If I detach the brick from itself and reattach, then it will start charging again, for a few seconds. So far, the only solution has been to let the brick cool and then I can charge some more.
I'm not sure if the whine is caused by the powercord/brick issue, or vice versa, or something else entirely.
    Thanks for any help

  • HELP! Extremely Worried for Film Project (lost files) (please read urgent)

Okay so here is the dilemma-
Here I am tonight, plugging away at the editing process for a short film that I filmed in California back in February, and have had various other film producers and buddies filming at random times out there since. I had all of my footage on a WD Storage drive (this included pretty much all of the video files), and I had already imported all of the files into premiere and was about to begin editing the footage with them. Suddenly, I noticed that I was going low in memory space on my hard drive that I was working on, so I saved my Premiere File, then selected it, dropped it over into the WD Storage Drive that also contained all the footage from the film, and clicked on it to open it from there. However, when I opened the premiere file this time, it asked me to located "MVI_6104.mov", the first .mov file out of 400 that I had in there... and I couldn't find it. I looked for the source files in the new hard drive I'd just moved my premiere file into (where they just were at), i looked for them in my old hard drive, and in the three additional hard drives I have sitting next to my Mac... but the files had simply vanished without a trace. I checked the trash, nothing, and I havent deleted any files all night. They're simply gone, and I've hand combed every inch of every hard drive... will someone please help me? Without this footage I am dead and I am willing to get it back at all costs. Already ran a few of the free data recovery scans, but to no avail.. they picked up nothing. I literally have no idea what happened and I am currently having a panic attack. Thank you so much for your time and I really hope you can help me find an answer.
    Thanks.
    -Colin

    @JudeCotter-
The files used to be in a clearly marked folder on my hard drive labelled "Death Rides The Apocalypse Source Files" (the name of the film). I've searched every hard drive I own for the files and nothing. I can't find even a trace of them existing in the first place. The entire folder that used to be there is gone along with the files! Very strange.
    @shooternz-
Thanks. I searched the external drive first with data deletion recovery services, then by myself and I hand combed through all of the folders and video files. I even specifically searched the drive for file names in case I missed something, but nothing. I run OS X 10.6.8, and Premiere Pro CS5.5 The original source files were on the external hard drive with a tetrabyte of space that I attempted to move the PPro project onto, but now their original folders, names, files and everything have literally vanished. The project file doesn't matter since I just started editing but I lost all of the footage in there. The external hard drive still has around 765.3 GB of space left so I doubt I killed it simply moving a project over , but you never know. It was odd, when I moved it, the "Move In Progress" window with the twisting progress bar flashed for a second that it was to move 186.5 GB (which would accurately be around the amount of footage we had), but suddenly flashed and just moved it over in a second. Maybe this will shed some light. I'm extremely confused and worried. Thank you.

  • Loud fan and metal cracking noise on Macbook Pro 13''?

I have the late 2011 model Macbook Pro 13''. The problem started out with just a loud fan, the computer started to operate really slowly and just yesterday I started to hear loud metal rattling on the inside. At first it was just when I turned the computer but now it will do it periodically while it's sitting completely still while running. It also is heating up a lot. I've already gone to Activity Monitor and killed all activities using too  much CPU and the fan doesn't stop.

I have the same model and accidentally dropped mine off my bed today.
I looked around for a while to see what the noise could have been and found this
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1935?viewlocale=en_US which seems to explain the problem, even if you haven't dropped yours. My fan has also been loud lately but it seems unrelated.
I'd suggest you try turning off the SMS and then back on.
I did that with mine and it hasn't made any more noise since. If that doesn't help, it's never a bad idea to go to the apple store to have it looked at. Especially for how expensive the computer is.
