Loud rattling noise while scrolling/loading pages

I have a weird noise coming from the left side of the computer. It gets worse when you load pages, scroll down a page or use a program that requires a lot of memory?

I have this right now, did you figure out what it was/fix it?

Macpro 1.1 clicking noise while scrolling?

Hi there I have used mac pro 1.1 and while I am on the internet I hear a clicking noise when scrolling with my mouse wheel, I also here it when safri loads a page and upon start up.It also happepens when I close a program or app. Any help on this would be great.

In that case it could either be the fan, or your hard drive dieing. Mechanical failures in spinning disks will also sound like clicks and pops. Does this happen constistently? Or only now and again?
Either way it sounds like a backup is in order and a visit to an Apple store. They'll either replace the drive or the fan if either are the culprit.
You could also (at your own risk) download SMCFanControl and adjust the front fan's speed up and down to see if that makes the click go away or increase.

Has anyone had issues with Firefox 13.1 while scrolling web pages

While scrolling most but not all internet page words get jumpy and blurred. This same thing happened on version 13. I had no problems with 12 or ones before it.

Loud fan noise while gaming on GT70 gaming laptop

I've loved my laptop ever since I bought it but there seems to be one problem with the fan possibly.
The fan noise is really audible and it gets annoying when I'm gaming. Games like Fable Anniversary (highest setting) forces the fan to be turned on and make loud noises that even wearing a headset wouldn't help avoid. You know how new MSI laptops have a button for turning on cooler boost 2? It feels like it gets turned on by itself while playing some, if not most games.
I would first like to know if this is normal for a gaming laptop. Its REALLY annoying, I even tried the GT70 Fan control 1.63 but the fan keeps turning on by itself. I understand that the GTX 870m gets heated fast and therefore needs to cool off, but like on almost every game.....Skyrim, Tera (not even that demanding.....and not even on max setting ....) long hours of playing league of legends, The Last Remant..etc. I wanna play without such loud fan noises I don't mind if its audible but not too loud, I can even hear the fan noise from upstairs if I leave my room door opened. I would really enjoy playing Tera and Archeage without such irritating, loud sound that really distracts me and makes me fear that its abnormal. Hell, even Rift (MMORPG) released in 2011, would turn on turbo fan.... =(. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The silent option doesn't fully stop/slowdown the fan, maybe just momentarily then once you open up the game, the fan goes back to its usual 3k RPM. Is there ANY way to stop this? its been happening ever since I bought it and it really makes me not wanna play simply because of the noise that is audible even through wearing a headset. Sad it happens even when playing fifa 15. I mean is fifa 15 even THAT demanding? the answer is no, not even close to demanding as its using the same engine as 13, 14 ..etc. Also, I played it on my old lenovo laptop that had WAY lower specs such as gt 650m graphics card and yet the fan was extremely quiet, and I might add it was on highest setting....
I understand that the gpu can get heated fast, but on almost EVERY game? at first I thought the fan will only make such noises when playing highly demanding games such as Skyrim. A game from 4 years ago without any frkin mods. or Fable Anniversary..OR Prison Break: Conspiracy (what the f?) but it turns out that the fan will go turbo mode on literally every game. so in conclusion, every game is suddenly demanding thus the Cooler Booster 2 will automatically turn on.

Whenever I start up or wake my macbook pro for around 5 minutes I hear a lour rattling noise. (almost like a gurgling) Fans/disk sound normal otherwise, only on startup or waking from sleep?? That sounds like a fan going bad. It could be it's just clogged up with dirt, which you may be able to clean by taking off the bottom cover. All you need to get that off is a small Phillips screwdriver. You can also try the Genius Bar. Apple is pretty strict on warranty coverage, but they might help you on something like this since you're so close. All you can do is try.

Noise while scrolling in App Store and certain other apps?

Doesn't matter whether use trackpad or mouse, I get a slight noise as I scroll up or down. It sounds like a hard drive noise, but I don't really know much about computers so that could be a bit off...

Upon further investigation its the magic mouse, not just safari but noise is there when quiting apps on dock. Its going to stink if i have to take it back just installed logic pro 9 and thats a 4hr ordeal. thanks for reply though.

Super drive makes loud whirring noise while the whole MacBook shakes...

Hi there folks. I've had my MacBook for about six months, and every time I put a (homemade) media CD or DVD into the super drive, it makes a horrendous loud noise continuously that's enough to drive me to drink! Not only that, the whole MacBook 'shakes' because of it, and the only way to stop that is to eject the CD/DVD.
But if I put an audio CD into the super drive, even if one burned by myself (as I'm a musician by trade), or if I put a commercial movie DVD into it, then it makes a [softer] noise (as if an airline about to take off) which then goes away.
Could someone perhaps explain this discrepancy, and tell me if there's a remedy? (I'd really like to watch my god-daughter play the piano in a QT movie - and hear her playing at the same time without shaking in my chair, you know!)

Whenever I boot my macbook up, it makes a loud rattling noise. On the upper right side. Not sure what it is. It just started a few days ago.

Everytime I boot my macbook up, it make this really loud noise. Usually you hear the disc drive (or whatever it is) booting up, but this is ten times that and it doesn't very good! Not sure what's going on...

OK - more details/info now.
When I use terminal and type this:
drutil eject
I believe the DVD drives makes the odd noise I heard when I booted the laptop up.
Any thoughts?
I'm guessing that means my fan/hardrive are actually OK then, and it's probably the mechanism in the DVD drive that is causing problems?
I'm almost certain there's no DVD stuck in there?

Loud Audio Noise while Capturing in PP 5.5

I am using a Formac Firewire Audio & Video external capture device with a Firewire 400 to 800 cable to my 12 Core Mac Pro 2.9 GHZ.
Does anyone else use this device?
I am getting a strong audio noise thru the firewire port regardless if my audio input in the "Line In" or "Digital In" in the system.
The noise does not occur in any other application that records video which uses the system audio line in.
I guess my question is "Can you change the Audio Input Device" fo Capturing Video in PP ?
I cant find it .. so I guess not.

Some more information which might help.
Below is a grab of a sequence I've created in PP to show what I'm seeing.
As you can see there are two clips in the timeline, the first pink clip is the finished AE comp which has been imported into PP via the file menu and placed into the timeline, both video and audio play, and are present in the timeline (in pink) so that is a work around if necessary.
The second clip in the timeline has been dynamically linked via the FILE MENU/ADOBE DYNAMIC LINK/REPLACE WITH AFTER EFFECTS COMPOSITION. The video effects that have been applied in the AE comp appear in PP but no audio and as you can see in the PP timeline the A1 is still the origonal file's audio track (in blue under the pink AE comp)

Loud rattling noise in drive with snow leopard upgrade disc

I attempted to upgrade my mac mini intel core duo (2.0 gHz with 3 GB) with the new snow leopard upgrade disc; it makes a horrendous nopise in the drive not unlike a leafblower, and an error message finally appears with CANNOT READ DISC. Every other media disc works fine in the drive; whether CD ROM or DVD. It works fine in my MacBook (Black from 2007). Any ideas on how to do this install? Apple checked the disc and they say it's fine.

SSRS 2008 R2 - Column Headers of a tablix visible while scrolling - Then the column headers not visible on 2nd page onwards for PDF EXPORT. it's vice versa. Hence it is possible to provide both at same time ?

I am using SSRS 2008 R2.
I have two TABLIX in a report. One is TABLIX with row/clumn grouping. 2nd one is flat view.
Here each tablix is dispaly it's data on single page for each.
My Requirement on First TABLIX is:
1. I have to make column headers visible on scrolling down
2. Export to PDF - column headers must be visible on all the pdf pages for same tablix data.
But ... either one is achieved at my end.
so ... any suggestions please to achieve both at same time.

According to your description, the first tablix is matrix to use display data.
In SSRS, if we want to fix matrix header visible while scrolling and repeat header columns on each page, we can select the corresponding option to enable this function. Please refer to the steps below:
1. Right click tablix, and select Tablix Properties.
2. Select “Keep header visible while scrolling” and “Repeat header rows on each page” to enable these function.
If we are use table to display data, please refer to the article about Repeat Header / Keep Header Visible in Tables.

Everytime i open some websites, it displays the page for a while then load to another blank page.

hai. i need help. and just for heads up, i;m not computer/tech savvy.
i dont remember when this problem was started (maybe around 2 or 3 months ago) but everytime i opened some sites, the page displayed for a while then it reload itself and shown a blank page. the link is still the same with the link i tried to access, it just keep loading and shown blank page till it stop loading. refreshing the page wont help. usually i need to click 'Back' then while it shown the page i click 'X' to stop the page loading, so i can see the page.
but if i need to download files, stopping the page wont make me able to downloaded the files since the page didnt fully loaded.
the websites i encountered this was (so far) :
- Indowebster (download page)
- wiki.d-addicts.com (a wikipedia kind of page)
- photobucket (just encountered this today)
- and 1 or 2 other sites, i forgot.
but i can access all those sites just fine with IE. I also able to access it in Mozilla thru my work computer. at first this dint really bother me as i can just click 'stop loading page' or found another download sites for downloading. but as today i experienced it with photobucket 9which as far as i know didnt happened before) it made me worry that soon i would experiencing this with another sites too.
editted to add info :
i already clear cache and cookies. also disable all extensions in my add-ons. from some discussion page, many of them found that this was caused by Real-Player. i have uninstalled Real Player and have disabled the Real Player Plugins long before this problem occured. so i dont think Real Player was the caused.

hi.. actually before i was afraid to update anything other than anti-virus, since i read many people seems updating something and turns out they got malware/virus with it.
but i have update it to Firefox 21 (the newest version it seems) and didnt encounter any problem again. and hope not. it just the new version disable my orbitdownloader. any suggestion to bring it back? (or should i post new thread?)

Loading page animation while JSF page is being loaded

The backing bean on my JSF page(s) are view-scoped, and during the initial request, the backing bean's @PostConstructor method may take some time to return as it is calling external systems that are outside of my control. Thus, during the RENDER_RESPONSE phase of the initial request to the JSF page, it may take, on average, 3 to 5 seconds to return ( sometimes longer than that .... which again, is outside of my control ). While this is happening, the page rendered is of course blank as the response has not been written yet.
Naturally, I am thinking of a way to show an animated loading image.
1) I have seen suggestions of using a4j:status and a4j:region, but these are only valid for Ajax requests, while what I need is something that I can use during the initial request ( not a post back ), of a JSF lifecycle.
2) Suggestions of using two HTML divs... one DIV shows the animated image while the other DIV wraps the real content, but is initially hidden. Then use window.onload() to swap the style of the two DIVs so that the DIV wrapping the real content becomes visible while the DIV wrapping the animated image becomes hidden.
But then again ... these DIVs will NOT be written to the response yet as I am still in RENDER_RESPONSE phase.
The only thing that I can think of is to:
3) Create another page whose sole purpose is to show the animated image, then somehow immediately forward the request to the real page. The animated image on the first page will hopefully continue animating until the final page is rendered.

I finally figured out how to fix this. First I reviewed "Mac OS X: Why your Mac might not sleep of stay in sleep mode." I noted the bullet: "Do you have any other external USB or Firewire devices connected?" I have an CP685AVR for a UPS for my Mac. I replaced the battery a few months ago. I also hooked up Apple's 'Energy Saver' power management software to the CP685AVR using the USB connection. I disconnected it, and that solved the problem. I still have the UPS and battery back-up; I just can't "monitor" the battery. What's to monitor? It always said the battery was 100% charged even right up to the time the previous battery failed. Loud clicking/rattling noise every 5 seconds

My MacBook Air makes a loud clicking or rattling noise exactly every 5 seconds. It originates from the bottom of the MacBook, approximately somewhere behind the "P" key. The noise sounds just like a broken clicking hard drive except that I have the SOLID STATE DRIVE MacBook! I'm thinking it might be a fan issue. What is causing this noise and how do I fix it?

Can I bring the MacBook Air to an Apple store, and can they fix it on the spot by swapping out the broken fan or whatever it is?

I had the exact same problem; my new MBA made the noise right out of the box. Sounded like it was snoring. Rather discouraging, this being my very first mac. BUT, I think I fixed it.
I downloaded istat, and noticed that the exhaust fan RPM was 0. So, the problem seemed to be that the fan was "stuck." And, I know this sounds awful and wrong, but I gave my machine a sharp little rap just under the power key, to the right of the delete/slash/return keys. Just a soft knock, using the section of my index finger I'd use to show a child how long an inch is. The snoring went away immediately, and the fan speed went up to roughly 2490rpm.
Seems like a stupid manufacturing glitch, which I REALLY don't feel like dealing with after dropping a few thousand on this machine. But the fix was easy enough.
