Loudness - Levels increased issue

I have one clip. The levels were pretty much all the same on the entire clip, but I had to raise it to 12db on the entire clip and still found it not enough. Then I chopped up the clip and when I adjust levels on each chopped up section by going to Loudness I have such a high variance in levels that I can't listen to it. What I mean is this one clip level is 12db and then loudness is at 100% and the levels are still low, but then I have another one that is at 12db and loudness is at 71% and it is too loud. Both clips came from the same long clip. Why is it doing that? See the screenshots below. The first image shows the two clips next to each other. By looking at the waveform you can see that the first one is louder than the other one. The second image shows the loudness of the first clip and the second shows the loudness of the second screen.

Yes, turn off Loudness, reset the clip's level to 0, add the Gain filter (Logic version) and boost the gain level SLOWLY. It can blast you our very quickly if you're not careful. LOL

Exporting a project with multiple audio tracks changes the loudness level regardless of export format

I recently had to submit a TVC and discovered that premiere was changing the loudness level after export, when the TVC failed the quality check.
I checked the audio loudness of other formats that I had exported and the same thing had happened the audio loudness, it had changed.
After a bit of troubleshooting I found a workaround. I mixdown all of the tracks in adobe audtion to one track and then imported it into premeire.
Once I did this the audio loudness was not changed after exporting.
Workflow for when it didn't work.
I used edit in adobe audtion for the audio tracks from premiere.
Matched the audio to the loudness level I wanted, and then saved each track.
Export from premiere.
To Check Audio Loudness
Bring in exported file into new premiere project
Edit the audio in adobe audtion.
Drag the audio file into match audio to check loudness level.
I am using
Adobe Premiere Pro CC v8.1
Windows 7 on PC
Please fix this adobe.

Audio Levels and Loudness are two different things in this regard.

3gs iPod loudness level drastically reduced

Updated my phone to 4.1...guess what!!! I've got no problems with passcode,calendar or hanging problem.
.....But iPod volume has reduced a lot.....I scroll down the volume half way and music is almost MUTE, put it to MAX,and I can barely listen to the music...I am pretty furious about this one
I did everything possible ...checked the music aac format...restored the phone to factory settings...even reduced the data stored on the phone. Bought the iPhone few months back, updated all the way upto 4.0.2..and faced no problems ...the music loudness level was a lot and sound clear ...after updating to 4.1 in one short morning , loudness level reduced...a lot...even at 100% charge.... Please ....Help me out...I don't care even if at the end of the day I can't call or surf....but I love my iPod ..it's one of the main reasons why I bought the phone in the first place...hope to get your reply soon....yes..and my headphones are perfectly fine...I tried listening with it through my Sony Walkman ...I am pretty sure it is a firmware problem ...because the remember listening to iPod morning before updating and the volume level was off the roof and clear. Thanks dude ,but what does that mean.....will the braniaks comeup with the next software update and fix this problem(4.2 goldmaster i presume).
Because if it not going to be fixed..then i might as well change the phone because i've read various articles over the internet that this goldmaster4.2 will be iphone's last and final software update.
If its not... and there more updates coming(for the 3gs) then i presume my question is answered....waitin for the reply..

N73 mp3 player-Low loudness level ;(((((((((((((((...

I have eternal problem with N73-even when I set a volume level to 100% sound is pretty quiet, and I can't hear it on a busy street....Thought a friend of mine has 6233 and the nokia has very loud plaer'r sound...more than enough.
As far as I know N73 has powerful digital amplifaers so I guess player's sound has been software-locked. And this is S60....'multimedia' device...
Maybe SOMEONE(nokia's engineers) here has some solution and can tell something...

Regardind personal taste-that's not only my problem-a read that a thousand times in our (russian) part of inet...Mainly I heard about 2 solutions
1. Change firmware from N73 to N73ME (it gives some increasing of volume...but as far as we know there is just no diference between N73 and N73ME in sound quality ((. This is just marketing .
2 Very...hm..unusual way...start LCG JUKEBOKS on top of standart player(standart player don't play anything it just started). 2nd way gives a sound 2times louder...
So maybe some players from independent producers can pass through those software locks????

Data level Security issue in obiee 11g

Hi,
We are trying to implement data level security, let me explain the issue
The requirement is, we have 7 schools and each school has one principle , there will be a Superdintent who has 3 schools under him. so now when each principle logs in to dashboard we have a prompt for school i.e Name of school in that prompt he should see only his school and even the data of that school only which are assigned to him, now when Superdintent logs in he should see all 3 schools in the prompt and data. I have gone through this link (http://www.rittmanmead.com/2012/03/obiee-11g-security-week-row-level-security/) but could not achieve.
We are able to achieve by writing SQL in BMM layer ( LTS Table) so where ever the table is used in dashboards the security is being applied and we are able to see what we want. We want to achieve this by application role, But when we are creating session variables and applying on Application Role its not working. We want to achieve this by using Application role because suppose in other dashboards when the table is not used or pulled in, it will not work.But if we do it using application role its applies to all dashboards and data is resticted. so that when principle or Superdintent logs in automatically its restricts the data.
Below is the SQL which we used in BMM LTS, its working fine. But when the same SQL is applied in Application Role it's not working.
SQL used in session variable -

ERLA/NORM, Header and Item Level Pricing Issue

Dear All,
I have an issue wherein, even though I have used ERLA for BoM Item and NORM for Subitems, in sales order Conditions, both header level and item level pricings are active.
Correct me if I am wrong, item level pricing should get deactivated.
Kindly let me know if there is any issue in the settings.
The default item categories appearing in the sales document is TAQ for higher level item and TAE for subitems

Item Category group for Subitems should be ERLA, not NORM.

Object Level Security Issue.

Hi,
I am facing an issue in applying object level security in OBIA.
I have successfully done the LDAP authentication.
In object level, I want to give permission for the currently logged in user to a page of General Ledger dashboard.
Regarding this I have added the group corresponding to the logged in user through "Manage privilege" and given Access to the Dashboards.
But after doing this I am getting following error in my report when I ll loggin as the same user.

Looks like the user does not have access to the presentation table/column, check and see if the group has access.

Aggregation level deletion issue

Hi ,
I have a requirement to delete few aggregation levels from the system , i deleted them in development system and put them in a request but on transporting to Production these are not getting deleted. Any pointers .
Is there any other way to delete them directly in production system . There are few tables like RPLS_ALVL and RPLS_ALVLT .can deleting entries from these tables can resolve the issue ?

Check whether these objects are attached in any transport in production.
You can re-import the transport by checking 'overwrite originals' and 'overwrite objects in unconfirmed repairs' options.

Data Level Security issue

Hello Gurus:
I am having a problem with Data Level security.
I copied my Production RPD and Webcat in Test, changed connection pool DSN and user/passwords.
Now the problem is, a user who has same rights in Prod and Test, is seeing properly in Production, but sees nothing in Test.
I am using initialization block from Siebel CRM Application. So customers are assigned to users based on their responsibility from S_RESP and S_USER.
based on that, users can see the list of customers. Authentication is LDAP, same server for production and Test.
Now, a user sees properly assigned list in Production, but not in Test. I dont know how to solve it. I searched query logs and stuff, but couldnt find anything.
Please help me how should I investigate this issue.

Here are my inputs..
1)"they see nothing"? means the dont see any customers in drop down. This is data level and not related to column or subject area. The only filter I use is
"ATLAS Reports"."Dim - Accounts Hierarchy".LVL1ANC_ID = VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."ORGS")
This filter is applied to Customer hierarchy and couple of sensitive facts.
The users are able to see all products because filter is not applied. I disabled the filter, and users could see everything. But I cant disable this in Production.
2) What is the physical sql generated by the report? Set the loglevel of a user to a higher level in order to seet this.
I am not able to set higher loglevel because i dont see the user in repository. All I see is GROUP, and they are assigned to particular groups based on GROUP session variable. Then filters are set on particular groups. How do I set logging level at Group level?
3)Can you copy the query and run it against the test database. What results do you get?
I can not see the query because of above reason.
4)Does the user get the proper groups assigned? Yes. I put the session variable in title view to verify this.
5) Are S_USER and S_RESP in Test equal to S_USER and S_REPS in Production? Yes.

Low-level Reformatting Issue

Summary: I'm trying to do a low-level reformat of two identical drives. One took 2 hours to complete and the other says it will take 14 hours... and it's already been going for 3 hours. Why the difference?
*Longer version:* I have two identical drives from the same manufacturer that I use in RAID-0 for Photoshop and Video scratch. A few months ago, one of the drives started to act up and I got an I/O error message. I broke up the RAID and reformatted the drives but never put them back into RAID; I wound up using them individually as short term storage drives. After I reformatted them, they both passed drive tests and there has been no problems since.
I usually do computer house-keeping over the holidays and decided to put the two drives back into RAID-0 for a fast scratch disk (I don't store longterm data on them). I have a big project coming up and need a fast scratch disk. Anyway, I decided to zero out the disks to make sure any bad blocks that have deveoped over time are mapped out. The first drive zeroed out in a bit over 2 hours. The second has been going for 3 hours and it says that it's going to take 14 hours more! I thought that maybe I selected the more advanced reformat that requires multiple passes so I stopped the formatting to double check. Nope, it's set on basic one pass zeros.
Sorry for the long post, but does anyone know what might be going on here? Do you think the drive is defective? I ran a simple reformat and drive check before I started the low level format and the drive passed. Even if it passes the reformat, I'm left wondering if there is a major issue with the drive that isn't showing up in tests. 16 hours++ to zero out a 320GB drive is insane! Especially when the other exact model drive only took 2 hours.

I like to see:
What you used (Apple DU?) and zero a drive is not really LLF.
Make/model etc of the drive(s).
The best way to map out or recertify is with the vendor's own Windows utility, sorry; or, I've read good things about freeware SMART Utility for finding and mapping out weak sectors (they aren't black/white yes/no but can require or exceed threshold for I/O retries and errors).
Drive Tests: don't rely on Apple.
Zero-all 'may' but does not really guarantee, and often fails, at mapping out. 7-way write erase is better.
If a drive is taking too long or excessive, I'd just junk it or RMA and get a new pair (Samsung F3, SSD, V-Raptor....)

Change in Voice Level (Increase)

I had to edit an existing file created with v2. I renarrated
some captions using v3 and changed some backgrounds. The
environment was exactly the same, and headset was the same. Yet
when I play it. The sound is very loud. Even with the volumn turned
all the way down.

Unfortunately, it is not possible that the environment "
was exactly the same". A change in the humidity in the room
will affect the ambient air and that will change the record level.
From day to day and hour to hour we are more or less tired, more or
less alert, more or less patient and so on. Any of those things can
affect the volume at which we speak - without us recognizing the
difference in our own voice volume or pitch, etc..
If you only edited a small number of slides, you could edit
the audio on those slides, decreasing the volume on each. With the
slide open in EDIT view, double-click the audio on the time-line to
open audio Properties. Then press the keyboard shortcut CTRL+A to
select all the audio on the waveform. Finally, click "Adjust
Volume" to lower the volume on the entire waveform.
A more likely scenario - and perhaps a better approach if you
have a larger number of slide audio files to be changed, or if the
need for matching volume on all slides is mission critical - is to
export all audio, open it in an audio editor, and normalize it
before returning it to Captivate. This could be a lot of work for
you, but may be your only alternative.

Index third level entry issue

I have a word document with Index marking. The index marking has three levels. When we import the word document into InDesign CS5 or later it shows up correctly without any mistake.
However, when we export the content as RTF format the third level entry is missing completely. First two levels (level 1 and level 2 index entries) were appeared in the exported RTF.
I need all the index entries must be appeared in the exported RTF format. Can anyone help me out in this issue would be great!!!

Compressor 2 black level/chroma issue

I have discovered a problem about making MPEG2s with Compressor 2. I have two suites one of which has recently been upgraded to FCP Studio with Tiger; I used Compressor 2 to make a batch of MPEG2s and some QTs for the web. The QTs were fine but the MPEGs were oversaturated and had crushed blacks. I have tried both the new and old setting and the problem is common to both. I have tried recompressing material that I already have MPEGs of that were made with FCP 4.5 and Compressor 1. The new ones are different and all exhibit high chroma low black levels.
Since my second suite is still running FCP 4.5 and compressor I ran the same tests in the old suite and the levels looked fine, suggesting that there is an issue with Compressor 2.
I tried to alert Apple directly and was told that they had no way of putting me in touch with anyone directly. So I hope that for the sake of other users and myself this posting will ring some alarm bells.

Let me be clear, I am not seeing any significant differences in the black levels and colors between Compressor 1.2.1 and Compressor 2.0.1 and yes I am using the same decoder when I compare the clips (Apple's MPEG2 Playback component). I've compared the clips side-by-side on the same display under both OS X 10.3.8 and 10.4.2. However, I haven't done an extensive set of comparison with a wide range of source material (at least not in any detailed manner).
As for being CoreImage accelerated, under 10.4.X I do have support for CoreImage functions but they are not GPU hardware accelerated. Thus under 10.4.2 I do not get QuickTime's realtime color corrections. My PowerBook also supports Quartz Extreme.
However, if you're talking about the so-called Quartz 2D Extreme then my system doesn't support such acceleration (and as far as I know Q2DE isn't even enabled yet -- not on any system -- you need a developer debug tool to turn it on).

What is compatibility level of Database. Please change compatibility level to match that of SQL server version like if you have SQL server 2008/ R2 it should be 100, 110 for SQL 2012.

Sub-menus to Top Level Pages issue

My web site has eight top level pages, and sub-menus to those pages. Using the menus widget I set up the menus on my master page and it works fine. But I decided that on one (and only one) of the top level pages i do NOT want the drop down menu to show. When I check "Top Level Pages" (and uncheck Edit Together) on that particular menu page, Muse still applies Top Level Pages to the other seven pages — no sub-menus appear under any pages. It's an either/or situation — either sub-menus appear under every top level page or none appear. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or is it not possible to selectively have sub-menus appear under select Top Level Pages?

In your plan view right mouse click on the pages that you do not want in the menu and choose exclude from menu.
