Loudness Radar not an option in Audio Effects

I'm running the current version of Premiere Pro 6 and need to start monitoring loudness. I was under the impression from what I've been researching that Loudness Radar is
standard with Premiere Pro. But I don't see it as an option in my audio effects folder. Do I need to download, install or activate something to make it work?
Here is a screen grab of my Audio Effects.  Am I missing something?

Thanks again JIm,
Last question on this. Should I be running a higher Mac OS to use CC. I update my laptop to MT Lion recently and just notice that the Application manager has the CC logo
and a different interface than my MacPro which is still running Snow Leopard. That interface still looks like the old version and I see no options to download CC (which I'm currently doing on my laptop).  Or do I just need to download an updated version of Application Manager?

  • Loudness Radar not working in Premiere Pro CC

Trying to Activate Loudness Radar in Premiere Pro CC for monitoring Master Level. I apply the effect in the Audio Track Mixer on the Master Fader and the parameters show up on the Master fader but there is no Radar Display. That window never shows up. Loudness Radar opens and works fine In Audition CC put not in Premiere.
    Any Ideas?

  • Built in microphone not an option for Audio MIDI Setup

Hi! I am using a Macbook Pro, updated up to 10.7.5 I can't update any higher due to lack of sufficient memory. Anyway, I've been trying to use Soundflower to begin recording Minecraft videos, and upon setting it up I noticed my Audio MIDI Setup does not have the Built in Microphone option. Without it, I cannot use Soundflower. I watched videos back when 10.7.5 was the newest update and they have this option in their Audio MIDI Setup. Why don't I? Can someone help me figure this out?

Hi krk102588 - welcome to the forum!
I've just come across your post, and cannot believe that no-one replied to your issue before now!
    So if you're still around......
You just click on the iMovie tool with the microphone icon on it. That opens a floating window showing audio levels etc. Click on a clip where you want the voice-over to occur, and after the 'getting ready' beeps, start talking! Simple. No need to fiddle with System Prefs/Sound, unless the Internal Microphone is not selected.

  • How come the "do not dispose" option in photoshop doesn't have any effect on my stopmotion animations when I import them in After Effects?

    Hi,
i'm trying to create an animation in photoshop. It's a sort of spiral shape that appears bit by bit.
I'm drawing different frames, but each frame is build onto the previous frame. So i don't have to redraw to part that came before the new part:
So first i drew all the different frames (yes they have transparent backgrounds). Then I selected all layers and went to window > animation. Here I made frames from all the layers and converted it to a frame animation. here I selected all frames and selected " do not dispose" because I want all the previous frames to stay visible when a new frame appears.
Then  I did export >render video
    file options:
    image sequence: photoshop
    range: all frames
    render opt: straight
    frame rate: 20fps
Now I get all the different layers as PSD files. After this I imported the files in after effects:
    file>import >multiple files
import as: footage, photoshop sequence, merged layers
this gives me a single animated file with all the frames behind each other. But the "do not dispose" option has no effect here. I just shows all the different frames, but it disposes all previous frames. Instead of this as a final frame:
    I get this:
Can someone help me with this? I'm kinda new to animation.

An image sequence is an image sequence is an image sequence. AE does not care for specifics of PS' internal animation system and that is that. I'm also not clear why you choose to import as multiple files. A simple image sequence surely would do the trick?!

  • Batch Render of PP 2.0 sequences - audio effects missing?

I have a PP 2.0 project that consists of 28 sequences. The sequences are short clips of 2-10 minutes in length. I need to convert all the clips to .wmv files. Since PP has no batch render capability I imported the project into AE7.0 and added all the sequences to the render queue. I set the options and away it ran.
The problem is that the audio in the newly rendered files does not have the effects (specifically fill-left) that were applied in PP. The video effects (like cross-dissolve) are all intact.
    Thoughts?

AE does not support any Premiere audio effects. It only recognizes volume level keyframes. Still, exporting audio from Premiere and replacing it in AE is easy and quick, if not convenient, so that would be the required modus operandi, I suppose. Ultimately there's no good solution to this when working with Premiere, I guess due to how it handles footage. On Avid systems that's easy - export a reference QT, force-render all effects, load in the other app for conversion, so this would be a no-brainer...

  • Audio Effects not working in Premiere Elements 7

I am trying to apply some audio effects (DeNoiser, etc.) to the audio clips in my project, but when I select a clip and select and audio effect, I can't apply the effect.  They "apply" button is greyed out, and if I try to drag and drop the effect onto the clip I get the universal "no" symbol on the mouse cursor.
The audio clips are linked to video clips (footage from an HD camcorder that was imported into the project).  However, I also tried this with the audio and video unlinked, and the effects won't apply then, either.
    Can anyone help?

I have been reading your thread and its responses with interest.
What is the brand and model of the camcorder that you are using? And, what is the file extension for the video with this 5.1 channel sound. Is your video AVCHD or HDV?
    Some thoughts:
    1. Premiere Elements 7 File Menu/Export/Audio will not export the Timeline video as 5.1 channel sound to Audacity, rather Stereo (2 channel).
    2. I do not have an AVCHD file (or any file) with 5.1 channel sound. I have those that list 6 channel. I have found problems when I tried to export the audio from Premiere Elements when the file extension of the Timeline content was .m2ts versus .mts. For the audio derived from the .mts saved to Desktop..no problem for Audacity importing the export as .wav....for the audio derived from the .m2ts saved to Desktop, Audacity shutdown. In the latter case, Audacity seems to import the audio from the .m2ts saved to Desktop, IF the export from Premiere Elements is "Audio Interchange File Format" rather than .wav.
Also, if you have not found out already, regarding MP3 encoding Audacity, when you go to export as MP3 from Audacity, you may get the message "Audacity does not export MP3 files directly, but instead uses the freely available LAME library to handle MP3 fiel encoding."
I am looking forward to your results.

I have a 2012 macBook Pro 13" and the option "Use audio port for" does not appear at all in the sound menu. why is this? im running  mountain Lion 10.8.2

    Because line-in has been removed.
It does allow for an Apple headset with mic., but I don't know if it would work with third-party ones.
You'll need to use a Griffin iMic or similar to use line-in via a USB port.
The same goes for the 15" retina, the newest MBA and the new iMac (whenever it finally arrives).

No, you cannot seperate the audio and video stream.
You can use optical audio to a sound system (I use sony sound bar) and play the audio via that.

  • "Enable Audio Effects" not work

Hello, can somebody help me out please?
I have a SB Audigy 2ZS [E480]. In the EAX console, the Audio Effects are disabled. When I check the "Enable Audio Effects" box, the functions briefly lite up, but disappear again, immediately. So how do I enable this function. It has worked fine before...
Also, I tried the karaoke. As I understand it correctly, it should be possible to play MP3's suppressing the voices. This, however, does not happen. The complete song including the singing is heard, whatever I change in the menu.

Unfortunately, regardless of delivery scheme/format, PrE cannot encode DD 5.1 SS. Without a US$250 plug-in, CS4 PrPro cannot do this.
Actually, it does not take most videographers long, before they realize that the on-camera DD 5.1 SS is a bad marketing ploy. To record effective 5.1, one needs six well-designed, well-placed mics, a multi-track recorder w/ mixer and a skilled audio tech. The on-camera mics usually pick up tons of signals that are not wanted. Just having 6 mics does not yield good 5.1 Audio. Instead, they pick up the cameraman's clothes flapping in the breeze, the voices of people well behind the camera, every bit of wind and traffic well off-camera. Few continue to use it, because the Audio ends up being so very poor. They quickly switch back to stereo.
I use DD 5.1 SS a lot, but "create" it with usually 1 stereo source and 5 mono sources, or 6 mono sources. I have complete control over my sound stage and do "knockout" 5.1 Audio, but it takes time, equipment and for me, the SurCode DD 5.1 SS plug-in. I also do some music tracks in DTS, but that is another SurCode encoder, and some extra work in Encore to get that onto a DVD-Video as a supplemental Audio stream. When you hear it though, you will feel that the time and the US$350 encoder are well worth it all.
I wish that I had experience with exactly how PrE 8 handles the DD 5.1 SS Audio source files, but I do not. I can only speak in generalities, based on other Adobe NLE programs - each with a DD 5.1 SS encoder.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How do I make a 'favorite' folder for audio effects ?

In the effects browser, the list of effects is very long, and the classification is not at all user-friendly. How could I group the effects I use often in a folder ?

If you stay with JUST the Logic effects, MOST (if not all) have a Preset drop down menu (I haven't used them all, so I can't say for 100% sure). At the very bottom of the drop down menu is an option to Save Preset. This is a feature I wish was on ALL effects in FCPX... it's been suggested to Apple a couple of times by me... apparently it's not a reasonable enough request... but that's how it is.
    Anyway...
When you go into Audio effects, for each type of effect (distortion, echo, eq, etc...) when you highlight the type, in the right column the effects for that category appear. There are THREE sections (usually... unless you have other 3rd party Logic effects or AU plugins and you'll have others like Native Instruments or Blue Cat Audio, etc., and that will also depend on the categories the 3rd party effects fall in): the top section is usually "Final Cut". If you scan down the list there is a gray line and a label for the next section of effects, usually "Logic".  And scanning further down the list you get to "Mac OS X". The Final Cut and Mac OS X effects are the typical kind of cr*p you find in Garageband: hard to understand and harder to use if you wander far from the presets - that and no graphical interfaces.  The Logic effects on the other hand chew bubble gum and kick *** -- and they're fresh out of bubble gum. All of them sport a graphical interface (if you click on the little "eq icon"). Once you set your parameters to your liking, you can save your preset. It will show up in the Preset drop down menu any time you add that effect to any clip in the future.
We seriously NEED this feature for ALL effects Apple!!!!!!! All you readers, please send in a request/feedback.

  • Missing font in Loudness Radar

This is in all likelihood a problem specific to me. I'm pretty sure it's due to how I manage fonts on my system. Fortunately, the information I need to solve the problem is pretty straightforward.
    OS X 10.10.2 ("Yosemite")
    Audition CC 7.2.0.52, freshly installed
When I open the Loudness Radar:
    Open Audition
    Import a file
    Switch to Effects Rack
Click the arrow on an empty effect slot
Select Special -> Loudness Radar Meter...
    I get this:
(The screenshot is after playing the track a bit.)
The boxes where the text should be mean the Loudness Radar depends on a font that isn't available and is being replaced replaced with a font that doesn't have the necessary glyphs.
Now, as I indicated above, I'm pretty sure that the problem is due to my use of a font manager. (A real font manager, not Font Book.) I have thousands of fonts and can't keep them all activated all the time--I don't have enough system memory for that. So I manage them with a font manager. The manager doesn't detect any font requests from Audition, and so it never knows what fonts to activate.
To fix it, I need to know what fonts Audition (specifically the Loudness Radar) expects to be available on the system. A list of required fonts, essentially. If I know what fonts Audition needs, I can activate them manually and fix the problem. I've Googled about for such a list, to no avail. I also called tech support, and was told I'd get an email with the requested information within 60 minutes, but that was three days ago now.
    Any help is much appreciated.

    Hi,
Just got a response.  Looks like the plugin requires Tahoma, sizes 11 & 12 Normal and 14 Bold.
Please let me know if enabling that helps resolve the issue.

  • Do we have presets for audio effects?

Hello to all! I would like to know whether we have the option of saving effects which we add to voiceovers as 'presets' so that when we do fresh voiceovers we need to only 'paste' these presets.
At present I am doing this to manage the situation: I have created a tiny 'template project' in which I have included a voiceover that has the necessary audio effects. There is a slight 'inconvenience' associated with this method and would like to know whether one can have a better way to get our job done with a single click!
Wish all of you a great day!
    Dr. Somanna

    Hello Fox, Greetings!
I had previously indeed made a compound clip of the 'edited voiceover clip', but I was not aware that this compound clip in the event browser would not be having the 'copy/paste attributes. In my earlier post I had mentioned this:
I found that the source clip in the event browser does not add the audio effects which are introduced in the timeline audio clip...
Your mentioning of double clicking the compound clip to have it on the timeline and then copy/pasting the audio effects has been a 'revelation' to me. It is working. Moreover, I have placed this compound clip in an 'template event' that I already have and hence I would find it an easy thing to add effects to future voiceovers. Fortunately my need for adding audio effects are very simple and I guess that it will remain so in future too! I would not be needing multiple and complex 'audio-effects presets!
    Thanks.
Regards and have a great day.

  • MAD audio effects bug in Premiere Pro CC following todays update?

    Hi Guys
Since the update on my machine this morning to PPCC I have noticed the following problem.
If you apply, for example, an Exponential Fade to the start of an audio clip of say 10 frames and then play back that portion, if the audio effect is selected in white a VERY loud BEEEP replaces the audio effect. If however, the audio effect is not selected, this BEEP does not occur - it took me a few minutes to work out why or how it was happening and this is what I found....it wasn't doing this yesterday, applied the update and now all projects are beeping on the audio effect if that audio effect is selected in white!
...and it's driving me crazy having to deselect my audio effect in order to play it back properly!
Can somebody please test this on their machine and see what happens???
    HELP!
    Thanks!

I've been having this exact same problem out of nowhere. I tried the update today, to no avail. I tried selecting, deslecting, and replacing all my exponential fades and sometimes I get a light buzz and sometimes i just get what sounds like a 0dB square wave at 700hz or something. It's quite jolting when it happens loudly and I have the volume turned up for reference. I hope others are having this issue too so it can be quickly resolved because it's essentially rendering premiere completely useless in the meantime. The ONLY fix I'm able to find is to delete every audio fade, which will mean a lot of time spent with the pen tool - not my idea of a fun Sunday afternoon edit.

  • CMSS3D & Audio Effects...Only One at a Ti

I have an Audigy 2 Platinum paired with the original release of the Klipsch Pro Media 4. setup. In the past when re-installing the sound card, I've always had much difficulty trying to get CMSS enabled, and also have an audio effect under 'Advanced EQ'. When enabling the audio effect (doesn't matter which one of the Advanced EQ's) I loose sound from my rear channels. If I turn this audio effect off, I get all channels but it sounds very weak compared to enabling the 'Rock' option under Advanced EQ, for instance. In the past, I just played with it for a while and eventually got it to work, but I can't get this set up to work anymore!
Is it even possible to use the CMSS 3D and audio effects under 'Advanced EQ' at the same time? *Note, using 'Environment' effects work with CMSS 3D, but I don't care for any of those effects.
    Help!

rasertux: I tested your solution, but it didn't change anything.
brebs: I followed the wiki for upmixing here : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Alsa#Upmixing
I didn't modify much the default sound configuration. If I remove this section in asoundrc, it doesn't change anything.
I'm a bit lost between ALSA/PulseAudio/OSS and so. My goal is just to be able to have 5.1 upmixing and to play different audio sources at the time (for instance, Mumble / VLC / flashplugin). I don't know exactly which setup is the most accurate for me.
    Thanks
