Lound Spinning Sound While Loading some of the Discs

Hi Senior Members,
I have a mac book. Recently, i was watching a movie on my mac book and i heard a very lound spinning sound from the disc drive. I took it out and never used it again hoping it could be the problem with the disc. In next few days, some of the disc had the same concern but it was an itermittent Problem. Do i have to get my optical disc drive checked or its just disc specific concern?

I guess it really depends on how long you have owned your macbook. Age and use can have a significant impact on specific parts of any computer (Thats just common knowledge). As for the noise factor, it may have something to do with the disk, or the pay-load the disk drive is putting out, if these two factors begin to get worse, then yes you should consider taking it to an Apple Store to be evaluated.

i have just purchased it before a couple of days a go.

I just installed a Mac Pro for a client. After a while I noticed this buzzing everyones talking about. It was especially bad after I installed two more internal drives. It seemed to come and go with HD activity. I pulled up the lever on the back of the machine when it was particularly loud and the buzzing went away. So like some others have noticed it's associated with the HD bays. I took the side off and adjusted the seating of the drives so they were exactly centered Now the buzzing is gone. I'll keep an eye on it. Maybe it will need some kind of silicone bumpers where the bay trays are metal to metal.
More research to come.

HT1473 Im having a problem with adding cds to my library when some of the discs in a set have Gracenote information and other discs don't. iTunes in this situation puts the css that are part of a set into different albums, and I don't know how to combine

I'm having trouble adding "spoken word" CDs that are in a set to my library. When some of the discs have "gracenotes" info the album gets broken up as if each cd was a separate album. I haven't been able to figure out how to have all the cds in the set appear as one album. I have entered each one in the "get info" page as "1 of 7" and "2 of 7" etc, but the ones with gracenote info get put into a separate album. It's frustrating so far! Also, when I want copy an album to the burn folder so i can share it with a friend, it moves the songs as songs, not as albums. Any way around this? Thanks very much!

How to create spinning wheel while loading

I am making a screen grab tutorial that I do in a Mac
program. Outputs a .mov. I convert to a .flv with Flash Vid
Converter. Open Flash - link to it, create the .swf with a
controller. All I want is to in preference:
1. create a typical simple spinning wheel of dots while the
file is loading like on every youtube video.
2. at the end of my file it goes to black. How do I stop on
last frame.The .mov stops on last frame.
3. use a custom skin controller that is rectangular and
doesn't have rounded right/left bottom edges
I can live without #3 and just use the ugly stock one.
Can anyone point me to how to add the wheel at the beginning?
I tried Adobe, Lynda.com and Google.

We can achive this by 2 ways.
One way you can check the standard example "HTMLB_samples".
In the example HTMLB_samples i can explain what is happeing taking the example of page a) breadcrumb.htm and b) breadcrumbSample.htm.
Here when we click the link in the left(Samplelist.htm) page, the page Defaultright.htm will be rendered.
The defaultright.htm is calling breadcrumb.htm and load.htm.
The breadcrumb.htm in turn is calling the page breadcrumpSample.htm(Before it is calling the load.htm page is shown in mean time). For this to happen below code is kept in breadcrumb.htm page.

This is how the loading icon is comming.
Other Way of doing is.
From the first page navigate it to a intermediate page which has the loading icon. From this intermediate page you can navigate it to the Second page which you want it.

PSAPTEMP has nothing to do with PSA. It is a temporary storage space and is present in all systems.
You can check this in transaction DB02 if you are using Bw 3.x and DB02OLD if you are using BI 7.0. Once in DB02/DB02OLD, you will see a block which says tablespaces. In this block, there is a push button for freespace statistics, click on it and it will take you to a screen which shows the free space for all tablespaces.

Financial/Project Analytics Load - Some of the Tasks TRUNCATE Table Fails

Oracle Business Applications 7.9.6.1 - Financial and Project Analytics
DAC Load for Project Analytics fails with most of the tasks failing at Truncate Table Tasks.
I am implementing OBIA Financial Analytics and Project Analytics, I am able to configure and run the Out of the Box Loads without any isssues for Financial Analytics. After making sure everything is fine with Fin Analytics i configured the Project Analytics and ran the Load only for the Project - ORA12.
Financial analytics : Load went through fine without any issues.
Project Analytics : Majority of the Tasks fail with 'TRUNCATE TABLE table_name' itself.
No log of Informatica Session Files are Created
No Log of Workflow logs but taskname.log.bin files are Created.
I am assuming the loads are failing because it is unable to truncate the data loaded by Financial Analytics Load and due to Foreign Key constraints,
I did the integration as per the document by unchecking in the Configuration Tags.
Do i need to run the load together, As i am unable to figure out what is happening due to the absense of the log files i.e Session, Workflow.
DAC logs are not providing much info.
Any inputs are appreciated.

WWHEN I CONNECT MY VIDEO CAMERA TO THE MAC, IMOVIE DOES NOT RECONIZE IT SO IT GOES STRAIGHT TO DVD PLAYER. I AM TRYING TO DOWNLOAD VIDEO IN IMOVIE. SOME OF THE DISC WILL GO TO IMOVIE OTHERS STRAIGHT TO DVD PLAYER

When I connect my video camera to the mini mac in order to download into imovie it goes directly to dvd player and I can't download into imovie. It does not reconize a camera being connected. This does not happen all the time. Is something wrong with the disc or the camera???

It sounds like it is mistaking the camera for a DVD disk. So my best follow-up question is to ask:
1. Who is the manufaturer of your camera
2. What is the model number of this camera.
What happens when you quit DVD player. Does iMovie still fail?

Error while loading data into the cube

Hi,
I loaded data on to PSA and when I am loading the data to the cube through DataTransferProcess, I get an error (red color).
Through "Manage", I could see teh request in red. How do I get to knoe the exact error? Also what could be the possibel reason for this?
Also can some one explain the Datatransfer process(not in process chain)?

after you load the data through DTP(after click on execute button..) > just go to monitor screen.. in that press the refresh button..> in that it self.. you can find the logs..
otherwise.. in the request screen also.. beside of the request number... you can see the logs icon.. you can click on this..

Loosing sound while playing movies on the Ipod

I have been converting some of my movies to the Ipod format using "WinAVI MP4 Converter". The program worked, the movies were installed on the Ipod and are playable...for about 60 secs. Then it freezes and after some seconds keeps playing but without sound. Using FF stopping again will make the sound come back for another 60 secs.
Anyone know a solution to this problem? Is it the software causing movies with errors or is it the Ipod?

That is the problem.
1.1 messes up the video capabilities. So that is your problem. The only way to get the audio back on your vidoes is to reformat your iPod back to 1.0. That should be on the disk that came with your iPod. But when you reformat your iPod, it removes everything that was on it.

Correcting the Green screen tint appearing while loading images to the screen?

.... the Infamous Green tint that invades the screen, is still there on a whole lot of images - not all, a problem which occurs while images are loading to the screen for viewing. And it's on both the iMac whee it started, and the Macbook.
It was a problem that resulted from an Aperture update last year I think. Any clues?

Today, after a year of trying to get rid of thei problem, an Aperture "Craetive" at the Apple store found a way to correct it after contemplating it for about 15 seconds.
Here is the remedy:
To get rid of it, select image(s), go to Photo in the menu bar, hold down Option key, click on Generate Preview in the drop down menu. Wait for it to finish processing - a few seconds. Done.

No sounds while calling without using the loudspeaker

Hello,
When i do a telephone call , i can't understand anything because the sound is so low. If i call via the loud speakers, the sound is clear and good.
What is the problem ?
Is it a Hardware or a software Porblem ?

In the class CL_HRASR00_WF_PROCESS_OBJECT itself you have a static method RAISE EVENT by using that method you can trigger hte event of the same class. I think there is no need of using any other FM or class methods.
In the report WF_A call the method RASIE_EVENT of the class CL_HRASR00_WF_PROCESS_OBJECT by passing the appropriate values this will resolve the issue.

When I load facebook. It only loads some of the text. I can log in but I can't access anything else.

This is exactly what loads when I log in to facebook. There aren't any colors and most of the links don't show up.

Sorry John,,
I setup the log file and i see the following in my log file..it says that cannot connect to the essbase server...
How ever the user id which is setup in the physical schema essbase server has full rights to essbase server and the application.
