LOV in Portal Administration

I installed portal 3.0.8 on a 8.1.7 db and user netscape 4.7.
When I (for example) edit a user in the administer tab, and ask the lov of the default group. The LOV pops up, but when I select a value, nothing happens. I have to leave the LOV and type it manually.
Any solutions ?

Sorry could not reproduce it. It is working fine for me. I am using Netscape 4.51 (I did not check it in 4.7)
Regarding:
When I select a value, nothing happens
a) I tried selecting the value with mouse. It returns the correct result.
b) After invoking the LOV I navigated to record with tab key and pressed "Enter" button. Then also it returns the correct result.
Could you pls be more specific about the steps.

I have read Note:96800.1, but it states that it only works for Netscape. Does anyone have any IE compliant code for dependent javascript LOVs in portal. Is it possible in IE with portal version 3.0.9 and if so do you have any examples?

Error while trying to edit in Bea Portal Administration Content Management

Hi,
we are exploring the weblogic portal administration 9.2 and we encounter an exception when editing a content in the Content Management feature. We use the weblogic default workflow, we create a user attached to a group, add that group to a role, then delegate the edit and view capability of a content node in the Content Management to that role, we login using the respective user, check out the content, try to edit the property but then the exception occurs.
It says "A Repository Exception was thrown: User does not have view privileges on the node"
the detail exceptio on the property page was:
"javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Could not find a node at the key: nodeReqAttr
at com.bea.jsptools.content.node.ViewPropertyTag.doStartTag(ViewPropertiesTag.java374)
at jsp_servlet._contenet._node._nodeselected._properties._listpropertiescheckout._jsp_tag46 ...."
Could u help us what step we went wrong, because we previously try this in the WLP 8.1.4 portal administration the exact same step but never encounter this error before.
And is there anyway I can atteched screenshots to help better explain this problem?

You have to set your activex control properly. then only edit locally in KM will work.

AD security group as FIM Portal administrator

Hi Gurus
i have a question. I want to add an AD Security group in FIM for the users of the group to be the FIM portal administrator. I believe to do that I need to sync the group using a management agent, and then add that group to the Sharepoint administrator group.
Is this correct? If it's not then where can I find a procedure to make the members of the security group which is in an OU to be the administrators of the FIM portal? I don't want to sync the whole OU but only one group within the OU as there are other groups
within the OU which I do not want to have admin rights to the portal.
Is there a way I can achieve what I am trying to do? I haven't found any documentation to do it. As I am very new to this I apologize if the question sounds silly.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thank you all for all your valuable inputs. I have successfully resolved the issue. This is what I did.
I observed from the metaverse search in the Synchronization tool that after running the full synchronization on the ADMA following the synchronization order specified by Microsoft, the amount of objects was doubling. There were about 180 objects to begin
with and it doubled. I checked a number of solutions online which asked me to delete the object from the connector. However considering the number of objects that would have been a lot of work. So I decided to delete the users from the FIM portal and manually
run the sync again. I got this script from Carol Wapshere:

The good thing about the script is that a few users can be added to the Administrator set in the portal and the script will not delete it. That way selective objects can be protected and not all access to the portal is lost. After that I ran the syncs in
order, added the users to the Admin set and it all worked fine. I know it is a bit of a sledgehammer approach but I believed that might be the best under current circumstances.

I have a form, which will input date from user, and I also have javascript calender.
How to implement a Date Picker (Calendar) as a LOV in Portal Form? Do I need to choose POPUP and LOV for Date?
Instead of typing the Date within a Portal form, a popup Calender that will allow user to Pick a date.
Please help anyone!!

Once you have the JavaScript and have added it to your form, you need to the the following. First off, you need to be able to customize the HTML code for the form (i.e. choose custom for form type when creating the form). Once you do that go into the custom layout to customize your HTML code. Find the field you want to add the date picker to. It will be <#your_field_name.ITEM#>
Paste this code after it:
<a href="javascript:show_calendar('forms[0.elements[16');" onmouseover="window.status='Date Picker';return true;" onmouseout="window.status='';return true;"><img src="the source of your image file" width=34 height=21 border=0></a></TD>
You will have to play around with the forms[0].elements[16]. 16 is what date field is set to. However your will differ, so just play with it.

Portal Administration, consists of system administration, content administration,user administration only.
For Portal Administration, Backend is not mandatory, but since the employee data flows from R3, it goes as a Portal critical component.
You don't need any Tools for Portal Administration, you need to have the required authorizations, viz system administration, content administration and user administration that you'll get in User Administration.

you can add a page to a book, or a book to a book, or a book to a page, but not a page to a page

Portal Administration Console Login

Hello!
I have integrated Oracle Weblogic Server with Oracle Identity Manager to achive Single Sign On. In IDM is set form login.
My base_domain configuration is : AdminServer and a Cluster_0 with two managed servers : Server_1 and Server_0.
I have as proxy server : Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) for each server : Admin-Server, Server-0, Server-1.
I targeted my portal app to cluster. My portal application contains Portal Administration Console, avaibled at /myAppAdmin.
Security Providers are (in this order):
1. OAMIDAsserter - Oracle Access Manager Identity Asserter( Control Flag : REQUIRED, Active Types : ObSSOCookie)
2. OIDAuthentificator - Provider that performs LDAP authentication (Control Flag: SUFFICIENT )
3. DefaultAuthenticator - Weblogic Authentication Provider ( Control Flag : SUFFICIENT
4. DefaultIdentityAsserter - Weblogic Identity Assertion provider.
When I access Portal Administration Console from /myAppAdmin (admin-tools.war)
     1. I login first in IDM with the user from LDAP : weblogic_ldap. The login is ok and the ObSSOCookie is set.
     2. I am redirected to login from Portal Administration Console (this thing is wrong and I want to jump this step. I want to go directly in Portal Administration Console after the first login).
     3. I login in the second login page from Portal Administration Console with the same user : weblogic_ldap. The login has succeed.
     4. I am logged in Portal Administration Console and I can add content ( for exemple)
What I have to do to have only the login form from IDM. To have the only two steps:
1. Login in Portal Administration Console using login form from IDM and a LDAP user
2. Access the Portal Administration Console
I have tried :
I have changed domain security Default Model : "Advanced" , set Combined Role Mapping Enabled to "FALSE", set Check Roles and Policies to
"ALL Web applications and EJBs" and selected for When Deploying Web Applications or EJBs: "Ignore roles and policies to DD".
After this changes I deployed myApp which contains /myAppAdmin Console with Security policies set to Advanced.
I have only the IDM login, the correct one, and after that I am able to see first page of the Portal Administration Console and whatever I click I receive the error:

Where can I download a copy of the Portal Administration manual?

There is not a Portal Administration Manual per se. However, there are several manuals which pertain to the Administrator's functions (Installation, Configuration, mod_plsql Guide). Go to the documentation section of portalcenter (http://portalcenter.oracle.com/servlet/page?_pageid=2752&_dad=ops&_schema=OPSTUDIO). At the bottom of the page are several of the manuals in PDF and HTML format.

Developing Portal in "WL Workshop" or "Portal Administration "

Hello,
I got perhaps a silly question, but i must know ...
Well i designed a Portal in the "portal Administration" - but every time i want
to have a look at it by clicking on the "view Portal" button, an error occurs
: sth. like "Forbidden"
Fact is i cant see it in my browser (localhost:7001)
But when i develop a portal in the ""workshop" by just creating a new Portal
file f.e. "myportal.portal", then it works, and i can see it in the browser !
So my urgent question is what am i doinig wrong ?
Where exactly do i have to develop my Portal - in the Workshop ? But for what
is then the "Portal Administration" ?

Some suggesssions,
While installing the weblogic you need select weblogic portal option also. Only for weblogic different installation exe file with portal different exe file.
To get the weblogic portal server and portal work shop with weblogc you need to down load weblogic portal 10.3 exe file.

Netweaver Java Developer -- Portal Administration Access..

In general, should basic Portal Administration rights be given to Portal Java Netweaver developers?

It is not advisable to give administrative rights.
But there should be fast communication between developers and administrators if developers need any help related to administration(jco settings...sld..)etc
