LOV with auto suggest and multiple check boxes

Is it possible to implement LOV with auto suggest and multiple check boxes using ADF faces components?. Any alternative implementation/pointers are appreciated.

I have a database of the membership of a club. One field in the database is input by checking multiple check boxes. When the insert member record is submitted and multiple check boxes are selected, the information becomes an array of text separated by commas. When the user goes back to the update form, the check boxes are not showing checked in the appropriate fields. Thanks for getting back with me. I do have two tables. One table is the "members" table where all the information for the members is stored. One of the columns is "currentClubPositions". The database has another table which is "positions" which has the list for the positions that a member of the club could serve on. Members of the club may be serving on a number of positions at once, therefore the check boxes. Also, the club is adding and deleting positions over time, so I wanted an easy way to add them and delete them without having to go into phpmyadmin to do this. I have created a form that updates the "positions" table. The check boxes that show up in the insert member record and update member record are dynamic so that when the table "positions" changes, the forms change dynamically as do the queries to sort the database change dynamicaly. When the check boxes are entered, I use the implode function to make the values an array of text separated by commas and that value is inserted in one field of the members table named "currentClubPosition". I am so close. If a member has only one check box checked. I get the check box checked in the update form. Here is the updated code:

Also the mail is acting very funny by not getting the rules work in a proper method. Is ther a software to repair mail.

i did both of them, but still the while sending the mail the diolog box is not showing up and also the spelling and grammer does not do the spelling check.

Thanks for your response, but copying and pasting creates a link. If the user places a check mark in one of the boxes, all the rest of the boxes will have a check mark also. I will research this some more.

I have a use case where i have to save update list of items required, and i want to implement it through viewobject and use Multiple check box control, how do i go about it? Code snippet will be helpful........

1) In integration repository you can have one or many software components it depends on your landscape orchestration
2) In integration direcory you need at least one service for bpm and one or many for each system in your bpm
also each connection between systems and bpm must have receiver determination and so on.
Advice: Please treat BPM as a separate system.

I was looking at the masks that were created with AUTO TRACE and noticed that they are all with HOLD keyframes. I had used Hold Keyframes only on the mask opacity but not on the Mask Path...is this the better way to go - with hold keyframes for Mask Path. I toggled between Hold and Linear but can't see and difference

You'd only see a difference, when you use motion blur (a lot of it). Else the areas inbetween the keyframes do not figure into the equation and thus the visual result is the same.

Auto-Suggest feature in Combo-box LOV is not displaying non-unique values

I have an auto-suggest feature implementation on a combo-box lov that displays the name and email-id of a list of people. There are non-unique names in the back-end, for example :
Abraham Mason [email protected]
Abraham Mason [email protected]
But when I use the auto-suggest feature and type in, say 'Ab', instead of showing both the Abraham Masons the auto-suggest displays only one of the values.
As in the example above the email-ids of the two Abraham Masons are different and unique.
If I use the conventional drop down menu of the combo-box then both the values are visible.
Is the auto-suggest feature implemented in a manner so as to display only unique values?

don't find a bug entry about this, so if this indeed is a defect then this has not been filed. Do you have a test case ? If you have please zip it up and send it in a mail to me. My mail address is in my OTN profile (just click on my name until you get to the profile). Pleas rename the "zip" extension to "unzip" and mention the JDeveloper release you work with. The test case should work against the Oracle HR schema.
If you need to track the issue, I suggest to file a service request with customer support yourself

I think this is the job of the ButtonGroup class which you can use with JRadioButton.
But I'm not sure you can do this automatically with JCheckBox. You'll have to add a listener for each checkbox and enable/disable the checkbox according to which event was triggered.

Collecting values from multiple check boxes with same name

I have a jsp-page with one form with several check boxes sharing the same
name (but with different values).
Can I collect the values in an array/list or something?

Multiple checked boxes fill in common text field

I am attempting to create a form that has various criteria that are checked off (check boxes) and need to populate a common text field within the same form. Presently with action items I am able to design the form so that when only one item is checked it shows up on in the text field at a time not multiples Any suggestions would help.

1) In the Binding tab of your checkboxes you can put the On Value to whatever you want to populate the common text field with and the Off Value blank.
2) Assuming all your check boxes names are CheckBox under the same subform use this script in the calculate event of your common text field:

Appropriate component with auto complete and list of values

Hello,
I am using Jdev 11.1.1.6.0 with ADF BC and ADF Faces as technology stack.
I have a use-case and right now struggling to find the appropriate component/implementation for same. The requirement is:
1. User should be able to type and tab out to auto complete with perfect match.
2. Not all users are expert so they should be able search and select the items from list
3. Minimum key press should be there. E.g. auto complete should require only one tab press to complete and go to next field
inputComboboxListOfValues fits most of above except #3. One tab simply selects the item from list and second tab is needed to move out to next attribute. Is there a way to force one tab to auto-complete and move out to next attribute?
Tried simple inputBox with autoSuggest behavior but it lacks in opening of search and select feature that LOV component provides. Another drawback is that you need to wait for auto suggest list to appear and select before moving out to next attribute.
This is needed on a very highly frequent used screen, so no speed and key press compromise is expected. Most users are expert and they know the code, so just type and tab out is expected but at the same time if typo happens and code does not exist in valid list then pop-up should appear to search and select.
Is there a way to achieve this in ADF application (this is very well implemented in Oracle Forms application)?

I understand the single matching value and expecting move out in single tab for perfect match only. inputComboboxListOfValues selects the entry in one tab [even for single matching value] and user has to press another tab to go to next attribute.
Are you suggesting that it actually moves out to next field in single tab for "single matching value"?

LOVs default format set to Check Box - Error

1. I created a custom attribute and a custom Item type for a particular page group in 10g
2. I created a LOV and used it in the custom attribute type
3. I used the custom attribute type in the custom Item type that I created.
4. While customizing the Item type, I set up the LOVs (about 6 records) default format to Check Box.
5. While adding the custom item type to a page, the custom attribute (which should be displayed as a Check Box) displays as shown below:

Update:
I added 2 custom attributes to a custom item type. Both custom attributes are associated with separate LOV's. When I try to add the item, I get this following error and it's not allowing me to add the Item (custom item type from base URL):
Error:
Select a valid value from the LOV. (WWS-22207)
Couldn't save attribute Version. (WWV-03005)
Any help is appreciated.
