Love my iphone but starting to hate Apple

Hi All
Is it just me but I seem to have nothing but problems with iTunes and syncing.
I thought that I would pose my questions to Apple support only to find that you have to pay (what a surprise).
1, When syncing it never syncs my ticked options, I have to drag an drop them, I have the sync ticked options set.
2, Some times the art work is transferred and some times not.
3, Syncing some times doubles up the albums on my iPhone but not always the same ones (this appears to be random)
4, Albums (paid for) from iTunes loose the artwork intermittently and then you have to use the get artwork option.
5, Grouping songs to one art cover will be ok for 2 or 3 syncs and then on another sync it mixes them all up again for no reason, so the I have to spend hours regrouping them again.
There are plenty more frustrating problems with the whole system being some what flaky and never quite sure what is going to happen from one sync to the next.
I have tried different computers different versions of windows, my son has a Mac book and still the same problems on that too.
I even borrowed my friends iPhone and yes that was the same.
I have updated to the latest iPhone software and now the problem is worse with an added problem of brief 2-3 second stalls when going through menus or flicking through albums.
What I find amazing is how a company can sell so many iPhone fours with a known antenna problem. I bought my iPhone for what it does and what it looks like and yet I am forced to use it in a case for it to work.
I am so fed up with being dictated to by Apple to what apps I can run on my phone and there extortionate cost of Albums.
I am still locked into a contract but I will be selling the phone and replacing it with an android over the next few weeks if I do not get any response from Apple without having to pay for an extended support rip off deal.
Does any one else have these problems? I would be interested to know if its just me a my wits end.

Besides these problems, there is the battery, which was bad got worse, she is not lasting more than 10 hours, even without using the phone.
Sometimes it even seems that the problem was solved, but my joy did not last long after I celebrate all the problems return, is incredible ...

You'll never get me anywhere near a BlackBerry ever again. They do have plenty of functions, but they also have some of the worst computer-human interactions of any device I've ever seen. It's like it was designed by an alien race that hates homo sapiens.
Heck, I couldn't even reliably grip my BB without hanging up on people, because some super genius decided that the button on the side under your thumb was a good place to locate the "End Call" function.
No web access and no DUN profile meant I had to keep a completely separate device around for web surfing. And it's supposedly nifty push email can only access ONE email account, namely my work account. Fine if you're a corporate IT drone. For the rest of us, not so much.
There's no way anyone can tell me that a device that lets me read REAL emails on MULTIPLE accounts and view REAL web pages isn't better.
Doubtless, Apple intends to update the phone further, and I'm looking forward to it. But it's already the best smartphone I've ever used, just for having software the isn't brain dead, like most of them are.
PS. Don't even get me started on Windows Mobile devices. Yuck.

Did you enable your Menu and Sidebar?

If i send a message from my mac it comes up as the same convo as my iPhone but starts a new convo for the receiver :S

Have you tried resetting your phone and/or your iPad? Hold down the Home and power keys until the silver apple appears. Might help. Can't hurt.

New iPad: would like to access content on 2 iPhones but both have separate Apple IDs -help!?

I've completely comfused myself with Apple IDs and iCloud IDs today so can someone help please?
MY husband and I have separate iphones and ITunes accounts. We have just bought an iPad which we plan to share. We don't want this iPad to be cloned from either of our accounts but we're hoping to be able to bring up different content/ apps while sharing photos to both our iPhones. Wold we always have to sign in/out of social media apps to swap over (for example) or is there another way to easily share the device by performing one sign in and all the apps switch over to that profile? I considered cloning one of our iPhones and only sharing selected apps from our iPhones (not even sure I can!) or setting up a brand new iCloud ID to be a shared account that we can then (hopefully) use family sharing to share photos. Is this the best way?
I keep reading articles about signing in with this Apple ID and then this iCloud ID and now I'm just lost!

Love the iPhone but Endless Spin with EDGE--Will it Improve???

I got the iPhone one week ago today and although I had a 30 hour wait for activation, all week I have absolutely loved everything about this wonderful product. I could not be more of a fan and have found many of the complaints of others, though obviously sincere, to be without substance in my case...except for ONE!
I can not believe how painfully slow the Internet Access is over the EDGE system. I am so tired of seeing that little Apple Star rotating in ENDLESS SPIN. If I am using WiFi it is fine, but the main idea of having this product for me was to be able to have access to the Internet when I was away from WiFi services!
Sometimes pages will not load at all and I just give up, other times they are so very slow that it becomes hopeless to try to browse or make any use of the connection, and this applies to Safari, Weather, E-mail, Google, and all the other features that connect to the Web.
I am not saying that EDGE does not work at all, or am I suggesting there is any flaw with the iPhone, I assume it has to do with the network, with traffic, or whatever. But my question is, are others having this problem to a degree that it is making you feel depressed about the otherwise wonderful product and its performance? And more important, will it improve?
Do we have any official word on that or even any acknowledgement from Apple or AT&T that there is a problem and that things will get better?
I have recommended this phone to many friends but I have to honestly tell them that this is a problem and if they drop their Blackberry and other services they need to consider this first. I have not used one of the other phones so I have no idea if they are better or worse in this area but I know the iPhone can not be successful without a good Internet connection. The whole idea makes no sense without it!

The short answer is really NO. EDGE speed will not get faster. IN fact, it has sped up over the past two months to the maximum in most areas. It is indeed true that some areas have slightly higher speeds than others, but none are super fast. 3G runs at 4 - 5 times the speed of EDGE. My EDGE service either here in Ann Arbor/Detroit or last weekend in NYC never has gone above 160 (some report upto 220 in some areas elsewhere). My old Blackjack 3G phone would never be slower than 880, and usually in the 1200 range most of the time).
That being said, I had a 3G phone from ATT which I hated even though it was fast. I am willing to take the compromise on EDGE for now.
A few hints:
- Edge speed seems to be faster in the early morning and in the evening than during the day when everyone is logging on - if you have wifi at work, switch over to that
- Set up mobile favorites rather than full internet sites -- they work about as fast as the 3G guy next to you on EDGE...for example, I have set up on my phone:

- mobileapp.espn.go.com/wireless/espn/redesign/index
- webologistdesign.com/gomovies/demo/index.php
- m.USAToday.com
- m.NYTimes.com
IN order, I can check all my mobile favorites on yahoo, my selected yahoo sports teams, anything on ESPN, movies by zipcode (a clever app someone on this web site created!), USA Today, and the NY Times.
There are a lot of mobile (m) websites designed over the years to work with cell phones that are really fast and zippy and give you all the data you need without all the advertisements and photos that take up a lot of time to load on EDGE. Check your favorite websites and you will probably find a mobile version as well. You can even set up a mobile Google site that only looks up mobile websites when you seek data.
Finally, another idea - for those who want their sports scores, ATT has notification text messages you can set up for your favorite teams that will send you the scores at the end of innings, quarters, halftime, or at the end of a game. Pick the teams you want and have the scores sent to you with SMS without any internet lookup time needed. You can turn them on or off as you want from ATT's website.

1) If I do that, then the TC shows up under "shared devices", but to see external hard drive connected to the TC, I have to first click on the TC in Shared Devices and then the external drive shows up as a folder. Is there any way to have it show up were it would normally "mount" - like near the iDisk, My Hard Drive, etc.?
3) Yes, the external drive is connected via USB - isn't that the only option? Actually I tried it again last night and had much better luck. During a 22 minute show it skipped maybe 4 times, and not that badly. When I play files directly from the TC they play perfectly.
4) Ya, what I meant was that my backups had been failing until I erased the disk and excluded my downloads folder. Once I did that everything was fine, but when I re-include it, things seem to break again.
5) That's good to hear - though I could have sworn that when I had Time Machine running onto an external hard drive connected directly to the computer (before TC) I saw the full file structure without having to mount any .sparsebundle file.
Also - The "date modified" of the .sparsebundle files is staying at the time they were originally created, not the latest backup. When I mount the file I see all the sequential backups, but not until then. is that normal?

Apple does not have an "express replacement plan" so are you talking about the AppleCare program? If so, and you did purchase that warranty extension, contact the plan by http://www.apple.com/support/applecare

Dont get me wrong I love the iphone but the photo upgrade is terrible. Loads extra albums you cant delete without being online again just terrible. Maybe Im just stupid.

Web video plays on iPhone but gets error message when sent to Apple TV via AirPlay

I belong to a fee-based subscription video site. Videos play perfectly on my iMac, iPhone 4S, and iPad 1. However, when I try to play them on my Apple TV by sending them via AirPlay from my iPhone or iPad, I get the "An error occurred loading this content. Try again later." message. Videos from all other sites (YouTube, Facebook, other subscription sites) all work fine. I've tried restating, resetting, unplugging the Apple TV, cable router, and Airport Extreme. This problem affects both my Apple TV 2 and Apple TV 3. Any ideas why I'm having this trouble with video from this one site? Is there some kind of video format that works on an iPhone but not an Apple TV? Is the site perhaps purposely preventing AirPlay streaming?

Hairpants: I have the exact same problem with my iPhone, but only on certain Apple TV's. YouTube (via Safari) and TED (app) both play at home fine, but I get the "error occurred loading this content" on the ATV at work. Very frustrating.
Winston: I wouldn't think an app wouldn't "block" AirPlay, but rather wouldn't build support into the app. But I am not an app developer, so I'm just guessing. Example: the new YouTube app only support audio over AirPlay, not video. You don't get an error on your ATV, it just doesn't push the video data.
