Love my new iPOD, BUT...

can't make it thru the day without running out of power on a full charge...
is this normal??
my iPod Shuffle lasts two days!
any pointers?

mmm, try to drain your battery then fully recharge it then drain it again, then fully recharge it again, it will get better with time
your battery should last from 10- 14 hours, if your ipod last this long, dont worry
also check the support for articles about the battery

    Yes
    Put all the music on one computer, make sure it is authorized for all accounts, sync.

    Does anyone know how to reset your security questions?? I loaded an itunes gift card on new ipod but when trying to make a purchase, itunes is asking us the incorrect security questions?! Reset Security Questions
    Frequently asked questions about Apple ID
    Manage My Apple ID
    Or you can email iTunes Support at iTunes Store Support.
    If all else fails:
      1. Go to: Apple Express Lane;
      2. Under Product Categories choose iTunes;
      3. Then choose iTunes Store;
      4. Then choose Account Management;
      5. Now choose iTunes Store Security and answer the bullet questions, then click
          Continue;
      6. Sign in with your Apple ID and press Continue;
      7. Under Contact Options fill out the information and advise iTunes that you would
          like your security/challenge questions reset;
      8. Click Send/Continue.
    You should get a response within 24 hours by email.
    In the event you are unsuccessful then contact AppleCare - Contacting Apple for support and service.
    Another user had success doing the following:
    I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
    Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
      a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
          tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
      b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
          "done", in the upper right corner
      c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
          Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
          should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
          security questions.
      d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
          selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
          should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
          questions.
    It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.
    Good Luck friends!

    Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (not from backup)  The iPod will be erased.

  • ITunes recognizes my new iPod but rejects my old iPod

    My old iPod's battery is just about dead. It is three years old; I will send it to Apple for a new battery.
    In the meantime, I bought a new 5th generation iPod, 60 GB. It's great! Eventually the old iPod will be my work iPid and the new one wil be the home and recreation iPod.
    Here's the problem. I researched using two iPods from the same copy of iTunes. In response to my questions in this forum, someone referred me to the article at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300432, "How to use multiple iPods with one computer", which I read, and which supported the idea that you can work with two iPods from one copy of iTunes.
    My goal, then, was to follow Method Two as described in the article, and use two iPods from my one computer, without setting up separate user accounts for each one.
    So -- I plopped in the CD that came with the new iPod, installed the latest iTunes. It had me register the new iPod by serial number.
    In my copy of iTunes, my old iPod was called "Mae Sot's iPod". I set up the new iPod as "Mae Sot's New iPod".
    I thought that from now on, when I plugged in my old iPod, iTunes would be able to recognize it, and when I plugged in the new one, iTunes would recognize it.
    Wrong.
    My copy of iTunes does great now in working with the new Ipod. But it totally rejects the old one.
    When I plus in the old iPod to synch/recharge, I first get the Windows message in the lower right part of the screen with the headline, "USB device is not recognized", telling me that "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it..."
    The first time this happened, that message eventually went away, iTunes launched, and I got an error message saying there was no folder for the device.
    Now when I plug in the old iPod, I just get the "USB device is not recognized..." message, and iTunes does not launch.
    Any idea what is the problem?
    My goal is to get iTunes to add my old iPod as a recognized device, so that I can clean the music off it and send it to Apple for a new battery.
    iPod Windows XP Windows
    iPod Windows
    iPod     Windows
    iPod     Windows

    I've got the same problem as well. When i connect all i see is "set up your iphone" screen. It worked perfectly fine a couple of weeks back when I last synced but, doesn't sycn anymore.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • TS1369 i have just registered my new ipod but it doesnt appear in the menu for me to update it with the new music but it has put music into my old ipod....do i need to create a new apple i.d for my new ipod and create a second itunes app??

    Hi,
    O already have a really old ipod and just had a new one which i have registed today but when i have downloaded the itunes app onto my new laptop i cannot see the new ipod in the menu to update the music i have just purchsed.
    Furthermore it seems to have put the new album into my old itunes so once i connect my old ipod i assume it will want to put it on there. I bought a new one as my old ipod is only 4gb and there is no space on it.
    Can someone help please?

    Registering an iPod or any other iDevice for warranty and support has nothing to do with the device appearing in iTunes.  For what silly reason would you expect that to occur????
    Honestly, it sounds like you have no clue how to use iTunes or sync media to the devices.  Might be a good idea to read the User's Guide for the iPod to understand how to use it.

  • I'm trying to restore a new ipod but it keeps asking me for the passwords of itunes accounts that are not mine.

    It is trying to restore my new ipod from the backup cloud, but it keeps asking me for the passwords of three different itunes accounts, two i know are my friends accounts and I don;t even know whoose the third is.  I must have some of their music on my library or something, but it won't backup without these passwords it seems.  Is there a way to get around this?  I have the music in my Itunes library and can listen to it all I want and burn it on cds but I cant get it to go on my ipod without their passwords.  Can i switch it and just have it sync to my computer and not this icloud?  My other ipod didnt ask me for these passwords when I tried to sync it.

    If you have music that was purchased on different iTunes accounts than the one you use, then you must provide the password, otherwise the tunes are not considered yours.  You can turn off iCloud and just use the usual USB sync method.  But I wonder whether you'll have the same problem?

  • I love my new MacBookPro but I have a few problems.

    1. I cannot send emails.  Outgoing server name is correct according to Microsoft Outlook which always worked on my pc.
    2. I want to set up a VPN but cannot find how to do this.  Again, on my old pc it works like a dream.
    3. Bluetooth does not seem to find anything that is not Apple. Other devices can see in, but Apple seems not to see out.
    4. I want to plug in my iPod but am afraid that the few purchased items on the Mac will obliterate those on the iPod - all my original data is on the pc. How do I get the old info onto the new toy?
    Please help with any or all of these teething (?) problems.

    I have given up for now on the music (had to re-purchase Amy Winehouse and iTunes knew I had already purchased it but would not let me download it again - crafty, hey?) and will get onto the others later.  Anyway, the email problem persists (I have posted a separate problem about adding Windows 7 to try and get around it) and I was told by my ADSL provider that the settings were correct and there must be a firewall or something blocking it - which I checked and cannot see this is where the problem lay.  Up until Thursday morning when I downloaded new software (as sent by Apple) the Yahoo account within Mac had been working fine.  After that even Yahoo's server couldn't be accessed.  So I now rely on Webmail (which can be difficult as it is in Greek - of which I have a working knowledge but not a technical one!).
    Has anyone else found a problem after the last updates or should I give up on technology completely?!
    Sorry I did not reply sooner but, aside from mailing issues, we had a 36 hour power cut, ergo, no internet.
    Thanks.

  • Sinc to new ipod, but no videos

    i received a newe ipod, connected it to computer, itunes synced all music, but only 3 music videos. The rest seemed to have vanished.What do I do? at least 10-15 music videos gone

    There's no way that connecting an iPod would have caused the videos to be deleted from your computer's hard drive. It appears that you have a computer problem, not an iPod problem.

  • Love my New 3GS - but...

    I LOVE my new 3GS, way better that the VZ Blackberry Storm I had. I have gotten so much more done daily with the iPhone.
    but..
    I wish the new email alert sound was louder or changeable. Sometimes it does not sound at all. I watch it once and it new mail was arriving and no sound. and now i got mail and it sounded.
    Any way to change the sound to a more robust one.
    thanks

    You can send in requests for an enhancement to Apple, as I did weekly for about 6 months. However, it was not enabled on the new OS (3.0). <Edited by Host>

  • New ipod, but running old itunes....

    Hello!
    wondered if anybody could help with my problem. I had trouble a while back updating to itunes 7, basically it wouldn't open or run on my pc. so I reverted back to my older itunes and everything has been fine, running 4 ipods on the pc.
    But my brother has just got a new ipod and it says it needs itunes 7 or newer to be able to run and it can't dock in my itunes 6.0.5.02. I updated to a newer itunes just to see if it would run on my pc but it still doesnt.
    Can anybody see a way around this?
    cheers for any help, sam.

    thanks for your reply, I decided to download and try media monkey before reading your reply, my brothers happy to use this and the rest of us can carry on with the older itunes.
    but thanks for your help anyway
