Love the new iOS4 but.....

I miss having my double click feature. I used that to go right to my favorites to make a phone call. Now I have to take extra steps to get there. Any idea on how else to make short cuts for certain things? Wish the triple tap function would allow you to use for more things than the 4 options it gives you.

Just upgraded to LR2. I love the new features but LR constantly crashes

Help please. I just upgraded from 1.4 to 2.4. I think the new features are superb but all too frequently while I am in the Develop Module, LR freezes and the only thing I can do is torce it to close from Task Manager. What should I check? I never had a single system crash with LR 1.x.

BTW: if using nVidia card you may find that switching performance modes helps. Unfortunately, I can't recall how or to what, but one the least obvious modes.

IPhone 4 - Love the new design, BUT worried about the antenna.

I want an iPhone4, it looks great, and has everything I would want. What worries me is the fact that the antenna is on the outside of the phone, all around the edges. I remember that most radiation from cell phones comes from the antenna, where the signal is received. Does this mean the radiation levels on the new iPhone will be much higher since your hand is fully in contact with stainless steel band?

I don't think Apple will commit such a grave error in phone design to have a device with the antenna touching someone's ear.

Looking at the 2'nd pic, in the lower exterior metal band there is a space that separates the lower metal band from the top metal band. The same size and form corresponds with the location of previous Iphone's antenna allocated space.
This can be double checked by going to FCC's test https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits& RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&applicationid=573413&fccid=%27BCG-E2380A%27 and verifying the 11a SAR report file.
At page 27, on the GSM 1900Mhz, having the device parallel and touching the face, the value is 0.73 SAR. Using it in a tilted 15 degrees position (ear touch, lower part about 2 inches away from face), the SAR is 0.30. If the antenna were to be continuous all the way around, the SAR values would not change since the top part is in contact with the ear at all times in both tests.
I hope someone can confirm how the antenna is actually used in the new iPhone, I'm interested too since to me at least, having an antenna emitting so close to the ear means No Buy, antenna away from top = possible buy.

Hey guys, love the new look, but FF4 is crashing like crazy. Not only is it crashing the program but it is crashing my comp left and right. Any updates or fixes?

So you guys were killing it until this version. Since I have installed it my comp has gone haywire. The browser crashes regularly and i have have a few instances where it has been the cause of my computer crashing. It may be FF running with another program but in the last week i have just been running safari and have had no issues with crashing. Love FF3 and actually switched to FF after tons of issues with safari (still not my fav), not tuning my back on you, tho. Hoping for some fixes. thanks

I've tried to ad the songs like i did before on my pc, dragging them over to my playlist or library. Since I live in Norway, I have some difficulties with transferring to english, so it be some bad spelling.
On the music that I can't get to my itunes, is a "mp3 - lyd" which in norwegian is a the same standard mp3 format. All of the files is in this format, even those that I'm able to transfer to itunes. Which is an album by an single artist.
I know that itunes does not support all formats, which is why I always make sure that all of my music has the same format.
So I will try to explain once more. Earlier today, I downloaded some new music, both albums and singles. And it's the singles I have difficulties to transfer to itunes. Neither dragging them nor by clicking "import/add" songs to library works. What happens when I try to do this, is that I get that circle thingy,(the circle who comes when the computer is working), and when it disappers, nothing happens and no files(of the singles) is transfered. And I'm going crazy, because I thought that I could do this without help, and noe I'm sitting here like a questionmark, and don't understand what I'm doing wrong.
And, first of all, thank you so much for your time, and your links Limnos. Even though they were'nt the answers for my problem, thank you:) and I hope that you with the information above, may have an answer for me, or that someone else has.

We are ipod users just like you. We cannot make any updates at all.
There will very likely no way that their will be any more updates for original or 2nd gen ipod touches.

Love LOVE LOVE the new highlights treatment tool! But I do have a suggestion!

I have been using plugs to get the kind of treatment I now see in Lightroom4!!! Love LOVE LOVE the new treatment panel! It really makes it much easier and significantly quicker to edit all the photos of a weding, etc. I was able to use the sync function to carry my settings of whites and highlights over to all pictures but I don;t know which control actually syncs this new feature... Can you add some distinction into the sync panel to be able to sync more specifically the desired selections? At the moment I see the exact same sync pad as I always have though the treatment panel has changed. I understand that you pulled some of the features from under Tone Control but the whites come from elsewhere (not sure actually from where). It would be nice to be able to sync JUST the whites or JUST the blacks, etc., without having to sync it all. Can you create a new sync panel?

On Windows, you can only open one at a time. Lightroom checks for another copy running at startup and simply transfers control to that one. Libraries don't matter. It worked that way with the last Beta.
On Macs, you can run both simultaneously.

love the new forums... but hate the performance. Keep in mind my internet connection is 20MB/S download speed, there are times the pages wont even finish loading and you have to stop and reload again and/or very slow loading times. Of course, there are times the performance is as expected, but rarely. I hope Adobe plans to support the forums with better hosting.

As an od adage says: "Don't feel like the Lone Ranger".
which means everyone and his , brother, sister, Aunts, Uncles, mothers's and Father, and cousins on the Acrobat forums are complaing about the Speed.
There is really we as Users of the Forums can do about it other than complain and hope adobe will do something about it when they get finished with their easter holiday. Maybe that will be before their 4th of July vacation.

I love the new form generation stuff in FB and I've created a form from a create autogenerated service.
When the user fills in the form I call the method I assign it to a token in a call responder

The service just a void one
However if the users fills the form again and called the same service I get an error:
Item with id 'tbMysteryShopperResultsRPCDataManager:#:0' already exists. Error on destination 'tbMysteryShopperResultsRPCDataManager'
The primary key column is auto incremented in the ms sql database so I do not understand this error?
Any advice would be great, this problem has been bugging me for days now

Sorry for the late response, but I think I've found a workaround, I encounter exactly the same trouble in my application, very rare trouble but more often when the application runs on touch screen. I think It's like the user double-click on the button firing the action of create item twice, in my case it should not arised because i remove the button on click but ... sometimes it seems it should :-/ By default the RemoteObject wrapps in the DataService is in multiple mode , see concurrency in RemoteObject source :

For the slowness:
Try:

Love the new version! Just one small issue with pixelpoint stylus

love the new version with different width strokes - makes a huge difference!
one minor issue is the undo button on the Adonit pixelpoint stylus only works intermittently. I find when it doesn't work I do one or two more strokes after which it works. So its not entirely unworkable but is a bit annoying.

I love the new WEB UI builder interface and design

I absolutely love the "NEW" Web UI builder user interface. I wish they would make this the NORM for the LabVIEW environment. I love the WPF style control cutomization. I love the way it is laid out and how "EASY" it is to use. Everything is right in front of you. No right clicking to get this menu or that menu. I love the Ribbon on the top. Form layout is MUCH nicer and easier
OK LabVIEW developers lets get this for the regular LabVIEW Environment. The new controls for 2011 are a step in the right direction as far as the look and feel of the UI but the LabVIEW environment is YEARS behind other developement environments UI capability.

"The term Early Access Release is a term NI uses to communicate that the initial version of new NI software has one or more caveats associated with it that potential customers should consider, and that the product is targeted at early adopters. For example, features that many customers might expect could be absent, or the usability of the product may be lacking."
In other words, there's even more to come!

Start with the most basic thing that you can try. Unplug the router from power for about 30 seconds, and restart the printer and the iPad and plug the router back into power.

I have just bought a new laptop and want to use this one for my i pod. When i tried to do this it say my i pod is already synced to another computer. How do i 'un-synch' the old one. It does offer to synch the i pod to the new laptop but only for purchas,

The i pod will synch purchased songs to the new library but that would mean losing most of my songs. I tried home share but that only showed the purchased songs too.
I would lie to un-synch the old laptop, de-authorise it and remove i tunes altogether as i want to give it away.

That's not how it works. Authorising is for music purchased from iTunes, not for music you've imported from CDsor elsewhere. Music purchased form other suppliers would also not be subject to this authorising procedure.
Do you still have the old computer? If so, you need to copy the iTunes Library from that to the new computer. For example, in Windows XP, I would copy the My Music folder (which contains the iTunes Library, my Amazon MP3 purchases and album artwork) and put that onto an external drive. Then move the drive to the new computer and copy the copied folder onto the new machine thereby replacing the new machine's My Music folder. Then tell iTunes to look at the imported Library.
Obviously, you need to take into account that you have Windows 7 (where I assume the folder names may be different), any other places on you old machine where songs are located and so on.

I'm not sure I understand the question, is the message tone going more then once?
Turn off repeat message alert here:
settings > notifications > messages > repeat alert > never
Some people have found this does not stop the repeat miessage tone,
if you are one of those then I suggest you contact Apple:

I still can't get my contacts to open in Numbers like they used to do. I have a group of five addresses in a test folder in Mail called "untitled group." But no amount of pasting, dragging, etc can get them to open up in Numbers. My "real" folder has almost 100 addresses so I can't do it one by one.
Thoughts?

You can place contacts in a table In Numbers by the following methods:
Numbers 2.3:
drag from contacts
Numbers 3.2
copy from contacts, then paste into Numbers
In both cases you need to open System preferences, then select the "Security & Privacy panel and allow Numbers aaccess your contacts information.
