Love this tool, but one problem: can't see beach balls on remote machines!
Hi, I have the lastest OSX and ARD on the machines on our small biz lan, and I have one problem: when controlling or observing other machines I can't see the beach ball when it occurs...making it look like ARD is hung (or something). It's very disconcerting...is there a switch somewhere to make this right? Thx

I'd be very surprised if ARD is ever able to display the spinning beach ball on the managing Mac.
A couple of tips that may help:
1. Set the client computers to display seconds on the clock in the menubar. If the seconds are counting, you at least know that you are receiving visual updates. If you can't access a menu in the hung app, but can still see the seconds counting, you likely have a beach ball.
2. Run Activity Monitor on the client machine. A quick glance at the process list will show if an app is hung (and how much CPU it's gobbling).
3. Select "Force Quit" from the Apple menu. This will also show which apps are hung.
4. Peek into the /Library/Logs/HangReporter/ folder.

When I make a project in iDVD'09, there are sometimes - at voluntary moments - green blocs with points flickering in some scenes of my iMovie-film.
In i-Movie there is no problem with this film, but the problem begins by exporting to iDVD and making there a project.
Who can help me, then I cann't find everything about this in any forum?Hi
Can be a problem that get multiplied and visible when iDVD encode for DVD.
A. See if problem can be isolated to a single frame in the movie and re-import this clip and see if it's better
B. When free space on Start-Up hard disk goes low - strange things like this might occure. I never go under 25Gb free space on this Start-Up Mac OS hard disk !
C. Does this problem arises what ever encoding quality You use ?

I have a Galaxy S3 and love this phone but here at my new home which has absolutely no trees of bushes blocking anything, my phone calls are dropped ALL THE TIME and it's driving me crazy. Verizon finally said that they would come out and boost the signal but haven't seen anyone in two weeks. I have called Verizon tech help for one year to get help with this, either trade phone or something. I am so frustrated! I picked Verizon for the clear calls and coverage inside hospitals and buildings but it's been terrible. I have had three of these phones replaced. I need a different model like the S4 or the S5 I think cause it's something in this model.
Verizon is quickly becoming the worst cell phone company out there. To read all of these pleas from your loyal customers is just so sad and pitiful. You need to be sued for your data overage charges that you are intentionally imploding on your customers. They have pleaded, very intelligently, with you to do something to fix the issue and you willingly have NOT. As is with my reception issue that I was promised a signal booster for two months ago, so is this issue with the data. You don't follow up and solve the issues. Therefore the courts will find you fraudulent. When I was promised by your super tech that I needed a signal booster and he was sending it out overnight at no charge to me, I was relieved that it would finally be taken care of so I wouldn't lose faith with Verizon. Well, that was two months ago now with no record of it ever being ordered or on my file anywhere. I have since called three more times with hours of conversations about that issue and two more techs have told me they were sending me a signal booster with no follow up what so ever. WOW! That's pitiful! You may not care now, oh but you will later when you lose lots of money and business.

i am trying to connect my mac and PC through my network. the pc can seen and connect with the mac, but my mac can only see the pc it can't connect. how do i fix this?
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTune (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug.
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTune has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTune.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...

It should be in the Videos App - if it's not in there then have you got a film age rating set in Settings > General > Resttrictions that is hiding it ?

No. Call Apple Care and give them the serial number. They may be able to tell you who it is locked to.

How do you fix an ipod that has a black screen and it turns on but when it turns on the screen gets a lighter black but you still can't see the apps or anything?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

How do I drag an image or text box to the "workspace" off of my working file but where I can still see the image and text box for future use?
When I drag the item off of the trifold that I am creating, it just disappears but I still want to use it. I just need to move it out of the way to modify other portions of the document.

My airport seems not to be working anymore. I have internet but now I can't play music through Itunes remotely. Airport kept flashing amber. Now I have tried to reset it it only flashes briefly amber and then no more light and it seems disconnected?? Any help out there?
Unfortunately the Netgear DG834N router is rubbish with Macbook Pro's. I've had a few netgear routers, which were all good with my mac, which is why I bought the 'N' series one as an upgrade to the 'G' version, but basically it crashes my Mac constantly. I get the fade up grey screen forcing my to hard power off my book. everything freezes. It plain just doesn't work. wireless 'N' is still just in draft form and the difference between the Netgear and Mac version on the macbook pro just clash. Netgear haven't updated the firmware on the router since last year, so hopefully the will soon, but I've just gone back to my old 'G' version, and stuck the DG834N on ebay. I tried all the configs, with and with out security and no luck, it always disconnected, froze and crashed.

My file names have disappeared in grid view. Thery have been replaced with a dark bar along the bottom of the previews. If I toggle using the command u it hide the bar but I still can't see the file name. In list view all the file names are OK.
The dark bar is caused by the option "Show metadata below image".
Check the settings for the metadata overlays in Grid view (basic and expanded) by clicking the little "badge" icon below the Browser and selecting "Edit". Is the filename still enabled in the list? And in a high enough position to have precedence for other metadata tags, if the space does not suffice to show all selected tags?

There are no files like that in that folder (com.apple.safari). They all have long numbers with .jpeg or .png at the end. That's what I meant by I cannot find any files like those mentioned in all the helps I read today. BTW-it's still crashing - no particular pattern to it at all.
The only two things I have downloaded recently is a new version of Flash and a Mac-driven update to Office.
