Low audio in bootcamp on windows 7
the audio/speakers sound great in osx, but after putting windows 7 on here through bootcamp, the audio is like half the volume it should be from the speakers. works perfect with headphones tho, so it has to be something to do with the speakers. any ideas?
you have to install Cirrus audio driver - Apple doesn't provide one.

I have been trying to get this solved for months with no success. Everything I have read here . . . no one seems to know how to solve this problem from all the other sound problems I have read.
I have a MacBook and IMac with Core 2 Duo. System 10.4.9, Bootcamp 1.3 (June'07), Windows XP. Neither has the sound working with any program. I have reinstalled all the drivers 3 or 4 times. The "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties" from the control panel icon says "No Audio Device".
Can anyone help? Please?!?

Premiere Pro 6.0 Low audio playback in source window.
I'm using PPro 6.0 and out of the blue the volume of my source window is lower then the Program window. The levels are consistent. The actual volume coming from the speakers is louder on the program side then the same clip on the source side. All settings are the same as they have always been as far as I can tell. I'm using Premiere Pro WDM Sound. I've rebooted, I've reseated all the connections. Kinda stuck with this one. I suppose the sound card could be dying. Any other ideas?

I uninstalled Windows 8 two days ago, trying to put again, on my bootcamp partition, Windows 7. The first time I tried the GPU just wouldn't work, so I installed everything AGAIN to make it work fine. I downloaded those "iMac Late 2009 for Windows 7 Drivers" from apple.com and it was pretty successful: GPU was working again and so did my native resolution, 2560x1440 (I have a 27" Late 2009 iMac with i3). When I tried to talk to one of my friends on Skype I found out the (internal) microphone wasn't working, and so did the audio (also internal). So I installed EVERY drivers I could (realtek, cirrus, bootcamp 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2, I took some drivers from Driver Genius). I don't really know what I have to do!
Please help me, I'm in a tremendous situation.

In quel caso bisogna fare right-click nello spazio di quella finestra e selezionare "show disabled devices" e "show disconnected devices". Quando ho fatto quello sono riapparsi sia il microfono sia i parlanti. Spero che ti abbia aiutato in qualche modo.

Macbook Pro Retina mid 2012 low fps in bootcamp

My English is not so good, so sorry if it's not correct, but I hope anyone could help me.
I have a Macbook Pro Retina mid 2012, 2,3 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB ram, 250 GB SSD.
My problem is when I go to bootcamp for gaming I get realy low fps. The most games start at 30 fps, but then they drop immediately to 8/9 fps and a second later back to 30 fps.
It's like a car, when you drive to hard you have to slow down, but then you drive to slow so you need to go faster. He speed up and a second or 2 later he kicks on the brakes and a moment later he speed up again and kicks again on the brakes.
Even with al the game setting on realy low and the lowest resolution. And that al the time in every game. My bootcamp is Windows 8 but in Windows 7 did I have the same problem. I did already a SMC reset and Pram reset and 5 clean installs. But nothing works. I installed al the updates in OS X en in Windows. There al alrealy some forums about this problem, but by them was a SMC reset enough. Maybe something is wrong with my Nvidia grapihc card. The problems starts everytime when the Nvidia card need to do this work.
it's quite an annoying problem, it's not a cheap laptop, but my old laptop ( 2 years old ) are the gaming performs better compared to this one. I think the problems start after this SMC update http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1559?viewlocale=en_US but I'm not quite sure.
Are there more people with this problem, please let me know. And maybe how you solve it.

I recommend resetting your SMC and your PRAM. Perhaps even a safeboot as well.

Low audio levels on itunes purchased music video's
Can anyone tell me how to boost the audio levels on purchased itunes music video's ?
I have purchased a few videos lately from the itunes music store and occasionally I find the odd one which has very low audio levels. I assume that itunes has not monitored some video/audio files closely enough when importing them into the in tunes system itself and the audio levels have fallen a little low on certain tracks. Have a look at some of the Eurythmics songs - 'Angel', 'Missionary Man', or 'Best of You' by the Foo Fighters for example.I have boosted these tracks by 100% within the in itunes track options, but its still a very low level compared to some of the other tracks I have downloaded.
I tried to import one of these video files to Mpeg Stream Clip to see if I could use the audio boost function within that program but it didn't like the video file ? I presume because it was an itunes purchased video, therefore a protected file.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this or what setting I should be using, doing with Mpeg Streamclip to fix this problame if this program can fix this issue ?

Reducing brightness in bootcamp on Windows 7 to save battery
Im running a 2010 Macbook and the only way I have been able to adjust the brightness in bootcamp on Windows 7 is manually:
Control Panel > Harware & Sound > Adjust Screen Resolution > Advanced Settings > GeoForce 9400M Tab > Start the NVIDIA control panel > Drag all of the sliders for brightness and gamma etc to the left.
This is the only way I have been able to adjust the screen brigthness so as to save on battery.
There has to be a driver somewhere that you can download as this is so annoying!
Does anyone know how to improve on this method?

How do I install Bootcamp on Windows 7.
I have just installed Windows 7 on my Mac Mini and now I want to switch back to the Mac OS. When I hold down Alt while booting up to change OS nothing happens.
The other option is to install Bootcamp to work with windows. It's already on my mac as I used it to install Windows 7. But there is no option to switch OS with Bootcamp as I can't find it on Windows 7. I've seen tutorials on how to install it with a disk but the Mac mini has no optical drive.
How do I install Bootcamp on Windows??At first I was under the impression i had accidentily deleted the MAC OS but thankfully I haven't. I did a system restore on Windows and when it restarted I held Alt and I could select my OS.
But I still don't have the shortcut to bootcamp showing in windows. How do you make a bootable USB for Bootcamp? -
Brightness with bootcamp and windows 8.1 on rMBP 13 2013

I've googled for this issue and i've found many potential solves of my problem:
- Turning off adaptive brightness
- disabling Light sensor in Device Manager
- deleting SensorsAlsDriver.dll
Nothing works. I'm actually using Win 8.1 Pro N x64 with installed Media Feature Pack and with the newset updates. It is fresh-installed via bootcamp manager.
After sleeping and waking up my Mac brightness buttons magically start working!
What do I suspect?
When i delete SensorsAlsDriver.dll and uninstall Proximity sensor in Device Manager, after reboot Windows re-installs the sensor, and re-apply the .dll file.
I dont have an idea how to prevent OS from doing it...and I think it is potential solution.
Could someone help me solving this problem?I've been experiencing this same issue. I have the exact same laptop and running windows 8.1 pro through bootcamp. Everything runs great except the brightness doesn't seem to work properly. Also the keyboard's backlight is maxed out everytime i turn it on no matter what the lighting conditions. This isn't too big of a deal as i can turn it down once its on but still a minor inconvenience. My bigger issue is that the laptop's brightness is set to a certain level when i boot up in windows 8.1 and i can't change the level of it. I've tried disabling the adaptive brightness with no fix. I read somewhere that disabling the generic PnP monitor under device manager might fix it but im worried that it will disable my laptop's screen altogether and have to redo my bootcamp partition all over again. I have the latest bootcamp drivers for apple that were updated in early feb (2014) so I know that's not the issue and i have also tried reinstalling the bootcamp drivers but it just seems to do it again after a reboot. Dont' know any other fixes. I really want to get this working, other than that, bootcamp on windows 8.1 is perfect on my 13 retina pro.

Trying to Install Windows 8.1 on my late 2013 21.5" iMac. After I Format the Bootcamp partition, Windows Setup tells me "Windows can't be installed to this disk because it is GPT partitioned." Huh?
You must use the Windows formatter to format your Windows partition NTFS. Please be sure you select the Windows partition otherwise you might end up formatting your OS X partition NTFS.

My imac has been running without problems under OS X Snow Leopard and bootcamp running Windows XP for a long time. I had received a Sony MP3 player and wanted to install the software on my computer. At the time I had a CD in my drive slot because I was getting ready to install some brother's software for a printer I wanted to use. I restarted my imac under bootcamp and started installing the Sony software in Windows XP. I was having problems with the install and decided to restart XP to see if that would help. It's been several days since this originally happened so I'm not of sure of any more specifics at this point other than I've had to use windows machines for a long time and know that basically when in doubt "restart".
When my imac was restarting I heard everything spinning up, the white light came on, but I heard no chime, a blue screen came up for about 15 to 30 sec. and then it went to a black screen with DOS characters giving the following message:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <Windows root>\system32\hal.dll. Please re-install a copy of the above file.
I do have a copy of Windows XP, but my first problem was that I still had a CD in the slot and it would not eject. I tried every keyboard combination I could find including: eject button, F12 and holding down the mouse button at start-up and nothing worked. I also tried every other start-up keyboard combination I could find at Apple Support jut to see if I could get my imac to start up under OS X . I finally went on youtube to find out how to remove the CD. I ended up opening up my imac and taking off the cover of the CD drive to remove the disk. After putting everything back together I put in my Windows CD and tried restarting again. The exact same thing happened and I ended up at the DOS screen. Then I thought maybe my keyboard wasn't working so I replaced it with a new one. Same result. I also thought to plug both of my apple keyboards into my windows 8 laptop (hate it!) to see if they worked there at all. They both did so I'm sure the keyboards are not the problem.
At this point, since I do now have a windows 8 laptop (hate it!) there is no remaining reason for me to keep a bootcamp partition on my hard drive. My question is where do I go from here? I have a current time machine back-up on an external hard drive and I have my install CD for OS X Snow Leopard. How do I get my imac back up and running? Thanks.Can you OPTION boot? If so, then choose the OS X volume to boot back into OS X. From there you can use Boot Camp Assistant to remove the Windows volume and restore the drive.

2. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the

Keyboard Layout Problem in Bootcamp Using Windows 7
Both OSX, bootcamp and Windows 7 are the latest versions and all up to date and I have had this problem ever since I first started using Windows 7. Everything has worked smoothly and without problems except for my keyboard. No matter what program I am in when using windows 7 certian keys do not work as intended. All of the letters and numbers work as intended but things like the question mark key type this like É instead.

My question would be is this something that always happens in bootcamp Windows 7 that just needs to be changed or is it out of the ordinary for the characters to be bound to keys incorrrectly like this.You prob do not have the drivers installed. Takes a separate disc sometimes. There is a box to check during the partitioning and installation which has to do with downloading the latest drivers. You gotta do that to make much of anything work. If nothing else, go to an Apple reseller in your area or Apple Store if you are so lucky, and get some help. Is not the easiest thing to get all that set up correctly, but it does work well if you got the drivers installed. I have an aviation site which is not yet Mac compatible, so also do the Bootcamp thing with Windows, in order to do my thing on Jeppesen. Hang in there and get some help if you need.

Acrobat X Pro (10 and lower) won't start on Windows 7 (64-bit)
Hello, does anyone know why Acrobat X Pro (10 and lower) won't start on Windows 7 (64-bit)? It just doesn't respond whether I try to open files with it or double-click to start the program. Re-installation and Repair doesn't help. I had the same issue with the previous versions of Acrobat on this computer.
